Joel Osteen Ministries Featuring: Victoria Osteen - Live the Resurrection Life and “God, You Promised”

We recently celebrated the resurrection of Jesus in an Easter service, and now I want to encourage you to not just celebrate His resurrection but live the resurrection life He came to give us.  [Video and more below]
How do we live this resurrection life? We have to take hold of everything Jesus has given us through His death and resurrection. He took your sin and shame, everything that would ever try to come on you, and He paid your debt in full. “He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west” (Psalm 103:12). We don’t have to walk in guilt and condemnation. We are free to go and live the resurrection life. This is message #762, "Live the Resurrection Life", by Victoria Osteen. “God, You Promised”

Post by Joel Osteen
The Scripture talks about how we need to have childlike faith. When you tell your child you're going to buy them something or take them someplace, they don't try to figure out how it's going to happen; they trust you. When our daughter, Alexandra, was about ten years old, she loved to go to Disneyland. I was putting her to bed one night, and she asked, "Dad, can we go to Disneyland again?" I said almost in passing, "Sure, we can." She said, "You promise?" I answered, "Yes, I promise." Early the next morning, before I even got out of bed, she came running in our bedroom and the first thing she said was, "Daddy, when are we going to Disneyland?" It was never "if," it was "when." She had so much confidence in me, knowing I wouldn't break my promise.
What would happen if we had that same kind of trust in our heavenly Father, knowing that He cannot fail in what He has promised us, that He cannot go back on His Word?
Most of us are good at telling God our problems, but Isaiah tells us, "Put the Lord in remembrance of His promises" (Isaiah 43:26). It doesn't say to put God in remembrance of your problems. It's easy to complain and say, "God, these people at work aren't treating me right. My back's hurting, and my child isn't doing right." But don't just pray the problem, pray the promises. When we face difficulties, one of the best things we can do is find a promise in the Scripture and remind God of what He said about us. "God, You promised to restore health back to me, so thank You that healing is coming. You promised You would be my vindicator in my work. You promised that my children will be mighty in the land."
I start every morning thanking God for what He promised over my life. "Father, thank You that You promised that the path of the righteous gets brighter and brighter. You promised that no good thing will You withhold because I walk uprightly. You promised that You would do exceeding abundantly above and beyond what I can imagine." When you start declaring God's promises, not only is faith going to rise in your heart, it's going to change your perspective. You won't go around with a victim mentality; you'll have a victor mentality. You'll know God being for you is more than the world being against you.
God is not obligated to bring to pass what we say, but He is obligated to bring to pass what He says. When you say, "God, You promised," something powerful happens. When God hears His promises coming out of your mouth, angels go to work, forces of darkness are pushed back, chains are broken, favor is released in a new way, impossible situations turn around. Nothing can stand against our God.
