It's no secret if you are going to be a serious athlete or fitness warrior, at some point it would be to your benefit to hire a personal trainer or strength and conditioning coach with experience in your primary sport. I say primary sport for the benefit of athletes and parents because it seems to be that the most successful athletes, whether they become pro or not, are two sport or more athletes. 80% of the players drafted by the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and more played more than one varsity sport.
The lesson learned that even though you work with one of our trainers either in person or online, be sure to have a well-rounded physical education. It can mean the difference between a scholarship or even pro contract, or not. Above all enjoy your sport and your life by being as physically and mentally prepared as you can.

Basketball Training: Reasons Why You Should Get a Personal Trainer
by Rome Jorge Ramos

Do you like to play basketball either as just a pastime or as a pro player? Height does matter in this sport, and if you are adequate in this category, you can surely find the best playing position that you can become good at.

For example, if you are 6 footer at the most, the point guard position may be a good position for you. If you are a bit taller than that, being a shooting guard is undoubtedly an exciting opportunity as you have the green light to shoot the basketball and score for the team.

The other playing positions, i.e., the small forward, power forward, the center, are positions that require higher player heights. But even if not everyone is given the ideal height that they wish for, you can always find a good position that will fit your basketball personality and skill. Most surely if you are one of the better skilled players which, we all know, comes after proper and dedicated basketball training.

Everybody starts from somewhere and since not all of us were born as good as Kobe Bryant, most of us starts from the beginning. Even the best players of today began with studying the basics and fundamentals of the game before they became the stuff of basketball trading cards.

Before you can dunk that ball, you must first learn how to properly dribble. You must also understand what makes a higher percentage free throw shooting that you can depend on all the time. These are just a few of the basics you must first learn because there are so much more to lay ups and dunks in basketball.

But are your basketball basics and fundamentals sound? We all know that we can always do it, but it is also advisable to go get yourself a good personal basketball trainer to ensure that you make the most out of your potential because that is what trainers do.

Benefits of Finding Yourself a Basketball Trainer:

1. He will impart to you the best way of training for basketball.

The basics and fundamentals may be the easier part, but it is still important to learn how to do them properly. Doing so can save you a lot of pain by being able to avoid nasty injuries that happen during practices. The basics are the building blocks of those championship winning moves.

2. Your personal trainer will motivate you to go to the gym regularly.

It is not only because your personal basketball trainer will remind you of your training regimen, but since you have paid for his services, you will think about the money you spent. You will naturally want to make good use of the payment you made.

3. He will help you keep your eye on your goal.

He will praise you when you're doing the right things. But he will also tell you when you're doing it wrong. A good basketball trainer is straightforward even if what he says will hurt you.

He will custom-fit a training regimen that is right for your basketball abilities.

Not everyone was born with the same athletic skills so each one needs a program that is different from what others need. This is the basic idea of why you need to get a personal trainer. Your trainer's job is to create the most effective program for your unique needs.

5. Your trainer will be there to take note and evaluate your development.

He should be in the best position to do this because he is the one who formulated your training program. He can quickly tell if it's working or not and make the necessary adjustments to correct your training.

Even Shaquille O'Neil needs free throw trainers to help him improve his free throw shooting. It did not help him much, but that is the point. Everyone of us have individual needs, and we need personal training to help us target those needs. Personal trainers are great at doing that and any basketball player who is serious on improving his game will do well to consider hiring himself one.
