BALTIMORE, Md. – Former Bowie State men’s basketball standout Carlos Smith has signed a deal to begin his career in Europe. Smith signed for Iskra Svit, a top-level team in Slovakia (BSL Extraliga). TEAM INFORMATION
“I am extremely excited for and proud of Carlos as he transitions into his pro career”, said Bowie State head coach Darrell Brooks. “He has always worked really hard on his game and I'm positive he's going to do a terrific job for his team!”
The Baltimore (Md.) native played a key role in Bowie State’s CIAA Basketball Championship run in 2013 and averaged 11.2 point per game and 6.2 rebounds per game in his final season. Over his career, Smith accounted for five double-doubles, played in 58 games (starting 54) and averaged 9.0 points per game, 5.6 rebounds per game and blocked 81 shots in his two seasons with the Bulldogs program.
