The Cold, Hard Truth About Cellulite

In the fitness world, this is often a hot-button issue.
Here is the shocker Athletes and Warriors, that mysterious term "Muscle tone" and even more mysterious "Skin tone" are brother and sister.
The more dense (not big) and active your muscle mass, then your skin will slowly and gradually follow suit. Its just another truth that no gimmick, magic cream, pill, or fad can get around. Now I turn the floor over to the smart folks in lab coats who are really smart so please pay attention to them! :)
And we will have a funeral in a few months for that cellulite that intruded on your body many years ago.

The Cold, Hard Truth About Cellulite
(From Prevention Magazine,) - Are there any proven methods for getting rid of cellulite? Many people lose weight but the dimples won't go away. Do cellulite creams really work?

In reality, money spent on cellulite creams would be better spent on a set of dumbbells or a health club membership.

The active ingredient in cellulite creams is usually an asthma drug called aminophylline or theophylline. The theory is that these chemicals break fat molecules down into fatty acids, which are then excreted through the bloodstream. But, according to dermatologist Zoe D. Draelos, MD of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC, "What works in a lab dish hasn't been proven to work on women's legs (or anywhere else on her body)."

Also, human skin is effectively designed to keep things out; it would be very difficult to get the active ingredients in these thigh creams to reach the fat cells just by rubbing them in.

Exercise and a healthy, low-fat diet are the best ways of combating cellulite. Losing weight can help too, but only if you're doing it healthfully -- no crash dieting. That may actually make cellulite look worse, because crash dieting can cause you to lose muscle tone. If you aren't exercising, start now, and make sure you include strength training exercise like weight lifting to shape and tone your muscles. That will help those trouble spots start looking better.

Fit for LIFE and Business at 55!

Busy Entrepreneur Belinda takes back her life at age 55

Fit for LIFE and Business - Fit over 50 Belinda

It’s hard for me to put together today’s transformation story without tears welling up in my eyes. This one really gets me because I had the chance to work with Belindain person here in Kansas City. This busy and successful entrepreneur had put herself and her health in last place for a long time. After a serious health scare, and with her 55th birthday coming up, she realized if she didn’t make some changes, she may not be around to even run her business. I knew Belinda was ready for change on her first day at the gym. As confident as this woman was in business though, she wasn’t confident in what she was physically capable of achieving. Yes, we had some physical obstacles and challenges to work around, but rather than focusing on the things that she couldn’t do, we focused on all the things that she CAN do. And guess what, that was a LOT. Initially, we set a modest goal of losing 20 pounds of body fat. This goal wasn’t about trying to look better (although that’s a side effect!), it was about getting her body and health to a better place. It was about helping her become stronger and to have more energy to function through her busy days. We also changed up her nutrition to get it in alignment with the fat loss goals. Belinda gave 110% with every session, and on her time outside the gym, she committed to changing her eating habits, and started doing the cardio that she was able to do. It didn’t take long to start seeing changes in her, and I don’t just mean physically. Within just a couple of weeks, Belinda had a sparkle in her eye. You could tell that she was beginning to believe in herself and her capability to achieve these new goals. As she got stronger on the outside, she became stronger on the inside too. She surpassed the 12 week goals that we set in just 8 weeks, so we just kept right on going! Rather than a 20 pound loss, she ended with a 36.5 pound loss, and nearly cut her body fat in half.

What was even greater than the scale losses was the day she let me know her doctor was taking her off her high blood pressure medication. Just amazing!! And then, the day she came to the gym and let me know she was going to do her first triathalon! Well, she did it. This past weekend on September 10, 2016, Micah and I were able to go out and watch her achieve this incredible goal. To see that smiling face cross the finish line was just beyond words. This new woman is not the same one who sat with me in an office back in April filled with doubts of if she would be successful. This new Belinda is a woman who KNOWS she will succeed at whatever she sets her mind to, she’s not afraid to go for it, and I can’t wait to see what she achieves next!!

Congratulations Belinda! I am just beyond proud of you. What a blessing it has been to be a part of this incredible journey with you. I can’t wait to see you continue to succeed with every goal that you set!

Belinda’s Story:

“When Health Takes a Back Seat to Business”

Back in November, 2015, I woke up one morning and honestly thought I was having a heart attack. My arms hurt, my heart was beating out of my chest, my eyes were puffy and swollen, and my head hurt. I took myself right away to see the doctor who informed me that both my blood pressure and resting heart rate were off the charts. I’d never had high blood pressure before, in fact it had always been low, and the racing heart rate was new too. He told me if I kept it up, I was a stroke waiting to happen. He got my attention – in trying to grow my business, I was actually killing myself.

I started on blood pressure meds which got things sort of under control, and confronted by shortening my life, decided I was going to whip myself into shape – no more excuses. The biggest excuse after running a business for 6 years at that point was that I simply didn’t have time.

At this pivotal moment, I realized that I didn’t have time not to.

I cut out all the things that were bad for me – salt, sugar, caffeine (oh yes, typical entrepreneur – would drink a pot of coffee in the morning, then switch to (a lot of) diet Coke in the afternoon), started to limit my lunch-time take-out habit (because I didn’t have time to plan, right?) and got up and walked every morning. I managed to lose 20lbs, but it took me 5 months, and I still didn’t feel good, or look well, and my heart rate and blood pressure were still nowhere close to where they needed to be.

A client nagged – I mean really nagged – and told me I needed to get in shape. When I say nagged, I mean that he cared enough about what was happening to me to help me see the light. Some time at the end of March, 2016, after going it alone for a bit, I decided that with a 55th Birthday coming up, I owed it to myself, to my family, and to my business family to make time to work on me – to be the best 55 year old I could be. So, after emailing Diana and telling her all my tales of woe, on April 19, 2016, I started my journey with Hitch Fit. I had a long way to go, but signed up for personal training with Diana and got to work. During the first meeting after weighing and measuring I was confronted with the terrible truth – that despite my efforts in previous months I was seriously overweight, body fat way up there, and had some pretty serious things to overcome like chronic arthritis and being so out of shape that just walking on a treadmill for a few minutes winded me. The phrase “hot mess” comes to mind.

Diana told me that she thought I could get my body fat down to 25%, and lose 20lbs. Being the independent one that I am, I let her know that I really didn’t think that was going to be possible in 12 weeks, but sure, if she felt I could then why not? I doubted myself – I was committed to making a difference in my own life – but I doubted myself.

And off we went. The first month was great, my strength started to increase, for the first time in my life I learned how to eat properly. Exercise became something I looked forward to and started competing against myself to try to improve. By the second month, I had met my first set of goals – so we set more. At the end of 12 weeks, I still felt that we had a way to go to being the best 55 year old I could be. I suddenly became addicted to fitness – and here I was, the business owner voted least likely to succeed in fitness before I met everyone at Hitch Fit. I kept going, adding 5 weeks to the transformation piece, and am thrilled with the results. I dropped 36.4 lbs and got the body fat to about 18.5%, and lost inches all over in the time I was with Hitch Fit – but that wasn’t the best part for me.

Everyone has different results, the one I’m proudest of isn’t the weight, or the reduction in body fat. The one I’m proudest of is that at age 55, I feel fit, healthy and feel like I could take on the world. I’m off blood pressure medication, I’ve continued to work with a trainer because I love it, I’ve increased my endurance in walking (can’t run because of my arthritis, but can walk REALLY fast), have taken up cycling, and am now taking swimming lessons. On September 10, 2016, I successfully completed a Triathlon – my first – and I couldn’t have even thought about doing that 6 months ago. I’m stronger, eat better than I ever have, can do things would never have been able to do and feel better than I have in years. The physical by-products are nice-to-haves, but what’s on the inside is so much more important.

If you’re thinking about taking on this journey yourself, I challenge you – what are you waiting for? Now I know what it’s done for me, I only wish I had found them sooner. My absolute heartfelt thanks go to Diana and Micah, and now Kevin in OP gets to put up with me. Hitch Fit changed my life. In fact, Hitch Fit gave me back my life and for that I am truly thankful.”

Marten Side
Back in February, 2014, my wife, Karen, asked me to join her to do the Couples’ Bootcamp. I wasn’t keen as, since I am naturally tall and slim, I figured that I was in good shape, but decided to do it with her to encourage her on her fitness journey and to make it easier for her so that she could prep one meal for all of our family to eat. I had no idea of what I was getting into and how much I needed it. It became obvious, very early on, that my sedentary lifestyle and poor eating choices had taken their toll on me. Over the years, I had gone from doing physical work to managing others, eating fast food for lunch and snacks every day, spending too much time in front of the tv. The program quickly showed me just how out of shape I had become, even though from the outside, I looked healthy. I huffed and puffed my way through the cardio, ached through the strength training and had to battle my sweet tooth and cravings every day. I felt like I was 20 years older than I was and wondered where I would be and how I would feel after 12 weeks of this program.

The program was tough but it was an amazing journey for me. It helped so much to know that I would have to check in with Micah every Monday. The accountability helped me stay on the program, answer my questions, get my butt kicked if I had been slacking. Micah provided the nutrition, cardio and strength training expertise…. the whole package! I completed my 12 week program and have continued on this health journey ever since. It’s been almost a year since I started my program and I’m still going strong! Now, I feel 20 years younger and know that I am so much healthier for both myself and my family. Our children have seen my wife and I on our health and fitness journeys and have been encouraged to make health and fitness a priority,
too, so we are all getting healthier as a result. If you are considering becoming your healthiest, fittest self, commit yourself and go for it! I
was uncertain in the beginning, too, but through this Hitchfit program, I have brought out my inner beast for a better, healthier life!

Your Most Neglected Body Part

mwp_virtual_trainer.jpg
I can't figure out why, but people universally neglect to train their legs. It's a funny thing, since proper leg training will dramatically deliver total body results.

Walk into any gym and you'll see the bench press taken, the dumbbells being curled-and an empty squat rack in the corner.

Leg exercises are tough, I won't deny that, but the benefits are more than worth the exertion.

A Case for Your Legs

Your legs are a major muscle group, so it's no surprise that training them will get you big time results. Training your legs will...
  1. Melt fat from your body. As I mentioned above, leg exercises are tough. Your legs are a large part of your body, so each exercise literally moves your whole body. This is precisely why a good leg workout will fire up your metabolism to melt fat away. You'll burn more calories while exercising your legs than any other body part.

Due to the intense nature of a leg workout, your metabolism becomes elevated for more than 24 hours. That means that for an entire day your body continues to burn extra calories without any extra effort on your part. Who wouldn't love that?
  2. Build strength for everyday life. How often do you use your legs? Most of us depend on our legs constantly throughout the day-so wouldn't it make sense to strengthen our individual mode of transportation? Kind of like putting a super charger on the engine of your car.

Exercising your legs isn't only about increased strength; you'll also improve your coordination and balance. This means that you'll be able to do and experience things that you otherwise would have missed. You only live once, right?
  3. Uncover natural muscle shape. Let's be honest, toned legs are attractive. I'm not saying that you're legs will bulge with muscles (unless we trained you for that), but I am saying that consistently training your legs will uncover your natural toned shape.

Many of my clients discover a whole new level of confidence after getting their legs back into shape. Women especially enjoy the freedom to wear shorts or a skirt without feeling embarrassed to show their legs. Wouldn't you love that freedom?

Oh, and I should tell you that as you strengthen your legs you'll also reduce the risk of injury to your lower back because you'll actually learn to pick things up off the ground the right way.
Best Leg Exercises

Now that I've convinced you to pay more attention to your legs, here are three of the top exercises you should do. Each of these exercises have dozens of different variations, so have fun and always keep your workouts fresh and challenging.
  1. The Lunge: Start with your feet together, take a large step forward and bend your knees down into a lunge position. Exhale as you press yourself back up to a standing position, or continue through with your step into another lunge.
  2. The Squat: Start with your feet shoulder width apart, inhale as you bend your knees, keeping your back straight. Be sure to keep your knees from going past your toes. Exhale as you push back up to a standing position.
  3. The Dead Lift: Grip the barbell with a mixed grip (one palm faces you, one doesn't). Allow the barbell to hang down in front of you as you stand on the platform with your feet shoulder width apart. Lean forward at your waist, keeping your back flat, and bend your knees, bringing the bar down past them. Exhale as you straighten your legs and lift the bar up. When you are standing upright lean back slightly and squeeze the muscles of your lower back. Hold this contraction for a moment. Inhale and slowly return back down to the starting position.
By no stretch of the imagination are these three the ONLY leg exercises out available. And that's the other great thing about training your legs... you have tons of options and variations.

Want to know more about leg exercises and which ones are the best for you? Are you finally ready to get into the best shape of your life? Let me help.

Top 10 Exercise Ball Moves to Tighten Core

Nate-@-Gilman-2.jpgWith everything that you've got going on in your life, taking time to tighten your core is probably not a high priority.

Sure, you'd love to have tight abs, and you exercise when you can, but your core could definitely use some more attention.

An easy way to incorporate core strengthening into your exercise routine is to work the following 10 exercise ball moves into your routine.

As with other exercises, warm up before using an exercise ball. When performing specific exercises, keep your back straight, avoid locking your knees, and breathe properly.

The size of ball you use should be based on your height and weight. When sitting on a ball, your thighs should be parallel to the ground. Choose dumbbell weights based on your fitness level.

#1: Ball Push-Up
A great way to work your chest, triceps, upper pectoral, and core muscles is the ball push-up. Rest your upper thighs on the ball and place your hands on the floor shoulder width apart. Lower your upper body toward the ground until your arms are bent at 90 degrees, and then lift back up. This inclined position really targets your chest.

#2: Ball Sit-Up
Using the ball for sit-ups works your abdominal, core, and hip muscles. Sit on the top front of the ball and place your hands behind your head. Lie back until your back is touching the ball, and then slowly sit back up straight, lifting with your abs and not your neck.

#3: Ball Arm-Leg Extension
Alternating arm-leg extensions using the ball targets just about all major muscle groups—especially the buttocks, hamstrings, and upper and lower back muscles. Get on all fours with the exercise ball placed under your abdomen. Simultaneously lift and straighten your left leg and right arm. Extend them away from the body's center while keeping your hips stable and balancing on the ball. Finally, bring your leg and arm back toward the ball. Perform eight extensions before switching sides.

#4: One-Legged Ball Squat
To work your quadriceps and buttocks, ball squats are a great option. Stand up straight and place your right ankle on top of the ball behind you so your weight is on your left leg. Slowly lower your body until your left leg is bent at the knee at 90 degrees and your right leg extends behind you. Rise back up and lower again. Alternate sides after 10 squats.

#5: Ball Jackknife
Here's another exercise that targets your abdominal and hip muscles. Place your hands on the floor shoulder-width apart, arms extended, ankles on the ball, and legs extended. Put your weight on your arms and roll the ball in toward your arms by bending your knees and waist. Extend your legs back out straight. Repeat.

#6: Ball Table Top
This exercise is quite simple to do, and it works many muscle groups, including your abdominals, shoulders, chest, and back. Sit on your knees and lean over onto the exercise ball, placing your forearms on the ball. Keep your back straight and bend your elbows at 90 degrees. Roll the ball forward and raise off your knees onto your toes. Extend your legs straight. Then return to your knees.

#7: Ball Triceps Extension
Also called the triceps blaster, the triceps extension obviously works your triceps. Rest your forearms on the ball with your legs extended straight and toes on the floor. Keep your back straight and roll the ball toward your hands so you can lift yourself up and straighten your arms. Then slowly lower back down to your forearms.

#8: Lying Ball Squeeze
Targeting your inner thighs, back, and buttocks, the ball squeeze is performed by lying on your back and holding the ball between your lower legs. Squeeze the ball while lifting your buttocks off the floor and squeezing your thighs together. Lower your back down to the floor and repeat.

#9: Ball Leg Curl
To work your hamstring muscles, lie on your back and rest the back of your calves and thighs on the ball. Squeeze the ball by pushing your feet toward your buttocks. Release and repeat.

#10: Ball Shoulder Flies
To work your shoulders, lay at an angle with your belly resting on the ball. Keep your back straight and your legs extended behind you. Hold a dumbbell in each hand and start with your arms at your sides. Raise your arms out to the sides until the dumbbells reach shoulder-level. Slowly release back to your sides and repeat.

Are you interested in more than a few new core-tightening exercises? If you are ready to fully transform your body, once and for all, then call or email today.

There's still time to make 2016 the year that you get into amazing shape.

My passion is to help people, just like you, reach their goals. Feel free to reach out to me when you're ready for your transformation to begin.

Why Natural Bodybuilding Is Your Best Option To Build Muscle

mwp_virtual_trainer.jpgGood Morning Athletes and Warriors!
No one need to fear the word bodybuilding. As a matter of fact when big box gym trainers and other 'schemers' use the phrase: "Body Sculpting", don't you know that is just another word for Body building? Most body builders are natural body builders. You will see why training like a Natural body builder is a great way to a strong, healthy, and attractive physique; without all of the trappings of performance enhancing drugs and other' yuucky bodybuilderish' stuff.
-Nate

Why Natural Bodybuilding Is Your Best Option To Build Muscle
by Ricardo D Argence

When you are in a place where you want a better body and just to be healthier all around, it is time for you to take a look at Natural Bodybuilding. Natural Bodybuilding is the process of losing fat, gaining muscle and generally being healthier without resorting to things like anabolic steroids or HGH.

You are putting your health and your progress on the line when you take a substance. Whenever you want to see an improvement in the ability to maintain the shape that you are in, you must turn to Natural Bodybuilding

Natural Bodybuilding can be a considered a return to something much more basic to our bodies. After all, in nature, we do not require steroids or HGH to build up our muscles. We developed our muscles because we needed them and because the things that we eat can encourage the growth of our muscles.

With that in mind, it is easy to see why Natural Bodybuilding is so good for you. You are taking things at a speed that your body can handle, and you are also in a place where your body can move forward and keep the shape that you get into.

Make sure that you remember that natural Bodybuilding will take a holistic approach toward all of the work that you are doing. You should keep a close eye on your eating habits and how your body is affected by them. Because of this, considering your diet is essential. You'll find that whole grains, fresh vegetables, and lean meats all top the list of things that you should eat.

You will find that you are going to want to avoid eating foods that are too sugary or too overly processed and that you will want to pay special attention towards looking at the role that protein plays in your eating habits. Eating too many sugars and processed food you're just adding fat and not muscle. Instead, concentrate on proteins and what they can do for you. The only way to heal torn muscle fiber from a hard work out is natural protein.

There's a couple of things you must never forget: first, there are no easy routes to Natural Bodybuilding. Second, this program will allow you to make significant yet natural changes to your life. Rather than something that is going to go away the minute that you break a cycle, it will be real progress.

By doing this, you are building strength in a healthy way. You are not hurting or damaging your body, and this is important to take into account.

While there are a lot of different ways to get there, make sure that you take a look at Natural Bodybuilding and see what it can do for you. It is very important to work towards the body that you want. Natural Bodybuilding is the best way to achieve your fitness goals.

Which of These 7 Reasons Motivate You?

Nate-@-Gilman-2.jpg

Let's face it, most people dislike exercise. Or at least they think they do.

They say it takes up too much time, they don't like to get sweaty, or maybe they're so out-of-shape that exercise hurts.

Or maybe they'd just rather lie on the couch and eat cake.

I think that anyone who says they don't like exercise is really saying that they don't have any motivation.

Motivation is what gets you to stick with an exercise routine—even when it's the last thing you feel like doing.

There isn't a one-size-fits-all answer for motivation, since different things motivate different people. Try the following 7 reasons on for size and discover what motivates you:

Reason #1: Health
The long list of health benefits attributed to exercise should be enough motivation for anyone. Physical activity helps you achieve and maintain a healthy weight. It also helps lower bad cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood pressure, while improving the amount of good cholesterol in your body.

Additionally, exercise strengthens your bones and muscles, lowers your risk of cancer, decreases stress, helps you battle depression, and even improves your sex life.

Reason #2: Making Progress
When it comes to exercise, many people find it helpful to track their progress so they can see where they started and how far they go over time. Seeing improvements reminds you that your hard work is worth the effort. Perhaps you were only able to walk a mile, now you're able to run two! Maybe you weighed in at 250 pounds, and now you're down to 215! Track your progress using a regular journal, phone app, or fitness website. This is a great way to stay motivated and to remind yourself that while you may not notice your progress, you're making progress every day!

Reason #3: Convenience
Many people don't stick with an exercise routine when it becomes inconvenient for them. Whether you face a schedule change or don't have time to drive to the gym, it's important (and possible) to find a time and place that work best for you and your busy lifestyle. Just remember to be flexible! If you're too tired at the end of the day, try waking up a few minutes early to fit in a workout.

Reason #4: Enjoyment
If exercise is a bore for you, find a way to make it fun. Everyone likes doing things they enjoy. You might hate running but enjoy swimming or riding a bike. Perhaps you don't like being alone and would rather be social. So join a team! Or maybe you don't like the idea of driving all the way to the gym, changing out, and exercising with a crowd. Find out when your local gym is least populated, and hit the weights then. Do what's most fun for you and you'll be less likely to stop.

Reason #5: Goal Achievement
If you're just getting started in the world of exercise, a good place to start is by setting goals. How much weight would you like to lose? How far would you like to run? Working towards a goal is a great motivator. However, don't set up for failure by striving after unrealistic goals. Do this and you'll soon feel overwhelmed and give up altogether. To avoid this, set realistic milestones. When you reach them, enjoy your accomplishment and then set new goals to take your good health even further.

Reason #6: Increased Confidence
If you're out of shape or overweight, it can take a lot of courage to start an exercise routine. Remember to be confident in who you are, no matter what size or shape. Don't compare yourself to the skinny, toned figure strutting her stuff through the gym. Keep your eyes on your goal and don't expect perfection after just a week of exercise. Strive to have your best body—not someone else's.

Reason #7: Rewards
Rewards are a great motivator. In fact, much of what you do in life is motivated by a reward of some kind, whether intrinsic or extrinsic. When it comes to exercise, a good reward probably shouldn't be an ice cream sundae, but it may be that new pair of jeans you've been eyeing, or perhaps a night out with friends. Maybe for you, weight loss and lowered blood pressure are reward enough. Just know that your hard work is paying off and deserves to be rewarded.

It's my passion to help others find their motivation for creating a healthier life for themselves and their families. I'd love to hear from you – go to www.fitnessgenerator.com/ussportsradio call (5715015306) or email ( ussportsradio@gmail.com ) today.

Do You Have the Stubborn Fat Blues?
Every year at about this time frustrated people around the globe look in the mirror and realize that their waist is larger, hips are wider, and their New Year’s resolve has fizzled.

So what do you do about the stubborn and seemingly permanent fat?

    Sink into a depression?

Well, the easiest thing to do is to throw a pity party. Then before you know it your feelings of self pity begin to snowball into a full blown case of the Stubborn Fat Blues.

How do you know if you have the Stubborn Fat Blues?
    • Your pants are tighter today than they were a year ago
    • You’ve tried to lose weight only to fail.
    • You feel trapped.
    • You’re close to giving up on yourself.
If you can relate to any of the above statements then you have the Stubborn Fat Blues—quite an unpleasant condition to have.

    Fortunately, there is a cure.

It all starts with your mind. The thing about the Stubborn Fat Blues is that it affects your mind more than anything.

You see, your mental state is critical in determining your shape and size. When you focus on all of the things that you hate about your current body like the size of your thighs, the shape of your butt, or the way your belly looks then you’re putting all of your energy on the negative.

The more you think about how unhappy you are, the unhappier you will become.

    Makes sense, right?

So instead of wallowing, use the following techniques to conquer the Stubborn Fat Blues:

    1. Take it one battle at a time.
You may have 20, 50 or 100 pounds to lose before you reach your ideal weight—and, boy, that can be overwhelming. The truth is that weight loss like that won’t happen overnight—it takes months of dedication. It’s no wonder so many people simply give up.

Don’t worry about winning the entire war today, instead focus on conquering one battle at a time. Take it one meal at a time, and one day at a time. A healthy meal, a good workout and you’ve won a battle. Remember, 100 pounds is broken down into 350,000 calories. Sure, that sounds like a lot, but all you have to do is focus on burning more calories than you take in today – in the end weight loss will be inevitable.

    2. Use a trigger.
How many times throughout your day do you find yourself plagued with negative thoughts? I’m too fat. I’ll never look as good as I used to. I’m not attractive. Yikes! Thoughts like these will ruin your chance at regaining your figure—they are total momentum killers.

Here’s what I want you to do. Whenever a negative thought enters your mind instantly do the following:
    • Breathe out and squeeze your abs for 5 seconds – 3 times
    • Throw away any junk food within arms reach
    • Plan to exercise that day
Make negative thoughts a trigger to take positive action toward your goal—the results will amaze you.

    3. See what you want.
If you have weight to lose, mirrors are a nightmare. Every lump and pouch seems to jump out with alarming illumination. And it doesn’t help that most of us see things as worse than they really are.

When was the last time that you closed your eyes and pictured the body that you wished you had? It may sound hokey, but I’m serious. Your mind is very impressionable, and when you bombard it with only the negative then you will be stuck on that image.

Take time each day to visualize your ideal body. Close your eyes and put yourself in that ideal body – feel what it feels like to be fit and attractive. This exercise is a powerful way to fixate your mind on your goal in a way that will leave you no room for failure.

    4. Get serious.
Sooner or later you will decide that you are fed up with the Stubborn Fat Blues. You will decide that your health is important. You will decide that you deserve to look great. And you will do what it takes to achieve amazing results.

The best way to ensure that your motivation stays strong—and that your goal is met—is to get on a fitness program that actually works. If you need help finding the right program for you – I can help.

Together we will identify your goals, find workout programs that you enjoy and create a routine that works with your schedule. It’s that simple.

Contact me today for a consultation and to learn more about the different fitness programs available to you.

Then you can say goodbye to the Stubborn Fat Blues—forever!

    Sneaky Calorie Burning
What are your plans for this weekend? A great way to promote weight loss is to pack your weekends with physical activities. Weed the garden, walk the dog, plan a bike trip, or clean out the garage. The key is to keep on moving.

    Turkey-Stuffed Bell Peppers
Eating healthy doesn't have to be boring! These turkey-stuffed bell peppers are the perfect meal for those days when you’re bored of eating healthy. Shhhh, your taste buds won't suspect that this dish is low-carb and protein-filled. Serve over a bed of greens for a complete meal.

    Servings: 5

    Here’s what you need…
    • 5 organic bell peppers
    • 1 teaspoon olive oil
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 2 Tablespoons fresh basil, minced
    • 1 yellow onion, minced
    • 1 Tablespoon fresh rosemary, minced
    • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
    • dash of salt and pepper
    • 20 oz organic ground turkey, 99% fat free
    • 1 organic tomato, chopped
    • 3/4 cup spaghetti sauce
    • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
    1. Bring a large pot of water to boil, add a pinch of salt. Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds. Place in the boiling water, using a spoon to keep them submerged for 3 minutes or until the skin is slightly softened. Drain and set aside.
    2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare a baking pan with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
    3. In a large skillet heat the oil on medium. Add the garlic, basil, onion, rosemary, parsley, salt and pepper. Cook for about 5 minutes, until the onions begin to soften. Add the ground turkey and continue to heat until the meat is browned. Add the tomato and cook for another 2 minutes.
    4. Remove from heat. Pour the spaghetti sauce into the turkey mixture and mix well. Add the cheese and mix until well combined.
    5. Stuff each prepared bell pepper with the turkey mixture and place on prepared baking sheet. Cook for 15-20 minutes until the bell peppers are tender.
