College Football Roundup on US Sports Net Presented By CoachTube Featuring: Alabama vs Texas A&M Highlights (Texas A&M vs Alabama) | 2021 College Football Highlights. Texas A&M and Alabama played in Week 6 of the 2021 College Football Season.

Always have a plan to play your best 11

You are always in a better situation if you have your best 11 on the field.

Depth charts are great, and in the course of a single game, a second teamer will most likely play, but what do you do in the case of an injury?  How does the next most dynamic defender get on the field if one of your starters goes down?

What tools do you have or how does your structure accommodate a change?

For example, let’s say there is an injury to your starting end and your next most dynamic guy is an undersized outside linebacker.

He clearly gives you more than the next end.  Do you have something structurally that allows you to get him on the field more?

It’s something to think about now.  Always understanding who your best 11 are trumps a depth chart in many situations.

Let’s use the example of a four down team.

I saw a team using multiple outside linebackers (a 4-3 team).  They were alternating during the course of a game.  Then the defensive end went out.  He was clearly one of their best defenders.

Just based on watching the next player run in for him, I saw a big drop off and fortunately for them, the injured defensive end was back in the next series.

Receiver Catching Ball

The question becomes what can the defense do to adapt and keep the best 11 on the field?

RPI Defensive Coordinator Jeff Dittman had to handle a similar situation. Needing something different in the middle of the season, he found a way to add an odd front into their four down defensive system on the fly.

This didn’t require major overhauls.  He kept it simple and it proved very effective.

Coach Dittman used various odd front alignments while keeping the thought process the same for his defenders.

“Bama” allows Dittman to get his defense into the “mint” front which utilizes 4i’s.  Many coordinators like this to shut down inside zone teams because it forces the ball wide instead of downhill. Read more.......

How to Train Through Shoulder Pain and Be Unstoppable

Shoulder pain isn't just something you have to grin and bear.

These are the best exercises for shoulder pain, and the best training techniques to get you on the road to pain-free lifting.

In recent years, the shoulder has begun to rival the lower back as the top pain point for active people. Why? Partly due to how the shoulder is constructed, but plenty more is just about us—how we train, how we take care of ourselves, and how we position our bodies in the modern world.

I'll be blunt: We, the lifters and athletes, aren't doing ourselves any favors in the way we warm up, train, and care for the shoulder. That's why the first step is to alert you to what you're doing that might not be helping your situation. Then we'll learn some pain-free alternatives to popular lifts and see how to put it all into action in your training.

This is the guide you need to get back to pain-free pushing, pulling, and living again!

Step 1: Stop Making Things Worse

More than any other pain point, the shoulder is a place where people's attempts to solve the problem often make it worse. Here are a few examples:

Chasing shoulder mobility: Mobility definitely isn't a cure-all for shoulder pain. In fact, you almost definitely need more stability than mobility. And unfortunately, "stretching" your shoulder isn't the answer, either. Pulling on that shoulder capsule through intense stretches can make an injury worse!

Skipping push-ups: As lifters get stronger at weighted movements, they tend to ignore push-ups. This is a mistake! Unlike most other pushing movements, the push-up actually encourages proper shoulder function. If you're chasing big bench numbers but you can't rock out a set of 10-15 perfect push-ups, you're setting yourself up for problems.

Pushing more than pulling: Both because of our modern postural trends and because of the way the shoulder is built, you need to pull at least twice—and more like three times—as much as you push. Seriously! You can find more detail about how to rectify this situation in the article "Safe, Strong Upper-Body Lifting Begins With These Two Ratios." The short version: Use your warm-up! A Look at the Benefits of Fasting

  • Author Andrew Lang

Fasting is a process in which the body goes without food for a period of time. It has been practiced for centuries by various cultures throughout the world, but it has recently gained popularity as a dieting strategy - people have found it effective as a way to lose weight. (Continued below.....)

A new study found that time-restricted feeding (TRF) supports life span extension effects linked with TRF, and they actually depend on the circadian clock system. Support Your Fast with Berberine + Lipoic Acid and Biotin: https://amzn.to/303nAVn Use code HIH at checkout to save

(....Continued.....)There are several other benefits of fasting. One of the most well-known is that it can be used to increase your energy levels. During the fasting period, your immune system functions normally. Fasting encourages a process called autophagy. This process helps clear away dead cells an encourages cellular and tissue rejuvenation. Fasting also gives your digestive system a break - this helps it rest and recover for the next meal.

Another good reason to consider fasting is the fact that it could help you reduce the risk of certain diseases. Some of the known diseases that are believed to be reduced by prolonged fasting include Alzheimer's disease, asthma, diabetes, obesity, and cancer. Although the truth behind some of these claims is not fully established, it is common sense that extended fasting would have positive effects on your body and mind.

The body's mechanism of sensing food is disrupted during a fasting period. When you eat a snack, your body is reminded of food and it "awakens" the senses that provoke the pangs of hunger soon after the food is digested. For this reason, many doctors recommend the use of fasting or dieting in order to control unhealthy eating habits.

Many people are put off by the idea of fasting. It seems like we're going to lose our energy and motivation during the fasting period. Some people lead busy lives and can't afford to lose their energy. Well, that's where intermittent fasting can help. Many people choose a period of 12 to 16 hours each day to fast. This period includes sleep, so it's not as long as it sounds. Quite often it could be an 8 hour sleep bookended by 2 hours of not eating before bed, and 2 hours of not eating after awaking. Not so hard, right? My advice is to take baby steps with fasting. Do not jump straight into something extreme - try intermittent fasting first, even if it's just a case of not eating two or three hours before sleep.

As you can see, fasting can have a number of benefits. While the mere act of fasting alone may not be enough to completely aid you in your quest to achieve optimal health, it is a good thing to practice from time to time.

I've taken a keen interest in health all my adult life, and fasting is just one tool in the toolbox for me to get near optimal health. I'm also a web developer and run a number of websites, including UK Listings and Web Design Listings

Tactical PE Featuring: Scooter Owner Destroys Moto Thief! And Lesson 2: Train In Your Gear

 From Active Self Protection

Please thank Magtech for bringing us today’s video of Scooter Owner Destroys Moto Thief!!

Lesson 2: Train In Your Gear.

LESSON BRIEF

Until you train in your gear, you don’t know how tough an operation can be.

You may be really fit… doing your squats, deadlifts, and everything else in the gym. But when you put your gear on, you have dynamics of restriction.

You have additional weight that you’re not used to dealing with.

But it’s not a weight that you’re lifting anymore.

Now it’s a weight that you’re wearing on your body.

Maybe you have a backpack on and it’s really loose, and it’s swaying back-and-forth as you’re trying to run. Not only do you have to perform the task of running to your objective, but you also have to deal with the forces pulling you side-to-side as you run forward.

The last thing that you want when you’re squatting, running, and jumping, is a bunch of weight shifting around.

Because that’s additional momentum.

When you have additional momentum, you’re wasting energy trying to counterbalance your gear. This makes any task more difficult.

So anytime you can stabilize the load closer and tighter to your body, the task will be easier. Get the full program today!

WAKE FOREST’S UNIQUE RPO GAME

It’s no surprise that Wake Forest has made their way into the top 25.  At #24 they have a chance to continue to improve and rise in the rankings as the backend of their schedule is end loaded.

They are averaging an explosive 430.4 yards per game (242.2 Pass/182.2 Rush) and are 20th in the FBS at 38.8 points per game.

Head Coach Dave Clawson explains their RPO philosophy here:

I’ve spent some time studying what Wake Forest does with their offense, and it is truly unique.

The first thing that almost anyone will notice is that on some of their RPO plays the quarterback and running back literally walk to the line of scrimmage on inside runs as they make the decision of who is getting the ball and where it is going. The ride the mesh long laterally on stretch plays.

A typical zone read mesh takes about 1.3 seconds from snap to decision. Charting a game full of plays of the Deacons shows an average of 2.06 seconds from snap to the decision, with the mesh taking as long as 2.5 seconds on some plays.

For reference, 2.5 seconds in the drop-back game allows a quarterback to get through three receivers in his progression, allowing for one or two hitch steps before throwing the ball and making intermediate routes like digs and comebacks a possibility.

The slower mesh is utilized on their RPO’s with the quarterback spending extra time riding the mesh with the running back to be able to see his key pull and throw the ball for a big play.

The outside zone with a crack route by the receiver makes this a very difficult play to defend.  Head Coach Dave Clawson illustrates the play in this video.

When I first saw this I thought what would make it even tougher for the defense is if they mixed in a normal mesh timing with the slow mesh timing.  Both require different reactions by the defense. This season they are doing that.

Why does this make it difficult?

The interesting part of the slow mesh is when the movement of the offensive line is examined. The line is not passive in any regard. When they fit on a defensive linemen, they are working hard to distort him and help create the running lane, but they are not taking lead steps off of the line.

They are using brace-pop or scoot footwork (John Strollo technique). They work to cover up the defensive linemen and let gaps be declared.  Level one is distinctly being taken care of and the offensive line will not chase up to level two until level one is secure.

They let level two (or three) come to them and get their punch underneath the defender. From there the hips are definitely engaged and they are moving defenders.

Because the line is not running off the ball, the quarterback and running back can take their time getting to the line and see the running lane opening before them. This technique is used with all of their inside runs.

So what this requires is for the level 2 defenders to be patient on when they fit.  Too soon and the lineman will step off and open a lane for the RB. They have to be patient all game.

Except now the regular mesh is being mixed in. So that means on some plays it is fit fast and on others, it is fit slow.  It definitely messes with a linebacker’s reaction and forces thinking instead of reaction.

The QB even gets involved in the block. In some instances, the QB uses the old Jim McNally “butt block” technique. An extra man off the edge isn’t a problem with this answer. He still executes the slow mesh while looking over his shoulder and maintains the illusion of an RPO threat.

One thing is certain, the Wake Forest offense is fun to watch!

The Demon Deacons put it to the test against Louisville this Saturday.

Now you have something new to watch and learn.

The Rock Almighty Devo with Arsenal and Let us go forward for God

Let us go forward for God

God told Moses to tell the people to go forward

Then the LORD said to Moses, 2 "Tell the Israelites to turn back and encamp near Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea. They are to encamp by the sea, directly opposite Baal Zephon.

3 Pharaoh will think, ‘The Israelites are wandering around the land in confusion, hemmed in by the desert.’ 4 And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will pursue them. Exodus 14:15

This was Gods idea

A great message on how a believer deals with fear warriors! Responding to fear in a godly manner could make or break our lives here on Earth and the hereafter. And do we ever need to deal with fear nowadays!

The Rock Almighty Devo brought to you by:

When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds about them and said, "What have we done? We have let the Israelites go and have lost their services!" 6 So he had his chariot made ready and took his army with him. 7 He took six hundred of the best chariots, along with all the other chariots of Egypt, with officers over all of them. The LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt so that he pursued after the Israelites, who were marching out boldly. As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the LORD.

Moses' silent prayers of faith prevailed more with God than Israel's loud cries of fear. The pillar of cloud and fire came behind them, when they needed a guard, God provided a wall of fire between them and their enemies. This dividing barrier made it possible for Gods people to go forward and conquer the new territory.

Let’s go forward claiming new opportunities, conquering doubts, resisting temptation, defeating Satan, taking back what the enemy has stolen from us, go forward giving God the praise, go forward and don’t look back like, remember lots wife? She looked back and became a pillar of salt. The angels warned them, Escape for your life! Do not look back, and do not stay anywhere in the valley, escape to the mountains that are higher than you or you will be swept away by the wrath of God. Genesis 19:17.

Lot ran down the valley and up towards the mountain, his two daughters ran close behind him, but his wife from behind look back and she became a pillar of salt, she lagged, when she should have gone forward much faster, she was weight down with the burden of the world, caught in two minds, whether to stay or to go, she lost ground and could not resist looking around. But if we keep our focus on Jesus, the things of this world will become insignificant. The disobedience of Lot's wife was a willful, and deliberate sin which led to her death, she chooses to value in her heart the things of the world more than the things of God.

Remember Lot’s wife. Luke 17:32

We today have received the similar warning to that which the angels gave to the lot and his family, let us go forward, putting away the old self-conscious feeling, and putting on the new life which is renewed in the likeness of God. If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. The image of Lots wife standing watch over the dead Sea where no life exists is the graphic reminder to us not to yearn for the things of the world. But to follow where Christ lead without hesitation.

God calls us to a journey in faith

The word and providence of God have a black and dark side toward sin and towards the sinners, but a bright and pleasant side toward the people of the Lord. He, who divided between light and darkness, Gen 1:4, allotted darkness to the Egyptians, and light to the Israelite's. There was such a great difference there will be between the inheritance of the saints in light and that utter darkness which will be the portion of hypocrites forever. The time is now, God wants his people to have an awareness of the need to move forward with the ministry, not retreat, not looking back with hesitancy.
