The Believer’s Highest Honor
The greatest responsibility for us as believers is to faithfully serve the Lord.
God’s Word describes believers as “ambassadors” (2 Corinthians 5:20), “soldiers” (2 Timothy 2:3), and “saints” (Ephesians 2:19). But perhaps the highest honor we can receive is to be called servants of the Most High God. From the world’s perspective, those who die to self in order to follow the Lord may stand in last place—in reality, however, they are first in His kingdom. (See Matthew 20:16.)
God places us in situations, vocations, and neighborhoods where we can have an impact for Christ. Think about the stay-at-home mom who raises godly children or a bedridden man who prays regularly for his church family.
