December 23, 2011 Bowie, MD – The Mid Atlantic Football Foundation (MAFF) is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Chesapeake Bowl, December 30th, 2011 at 7:30 pm, at South River High School in Edgewater, Maryland. The Chesapeake Bowl features some of the best talent from the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia against talent from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. MAFF also announced that a statewide youth game for 8th Graders will kick-off at 5:00 pm preceding the Chesapeake Bowl.

“We are excited to announce that many of our players have received local, statewide, regional and national honors,” said Sean O’Connor, MAFF’s Director of Business Operations, “but that speaks to the hard work and dedication exhibited by the coaches and the players both on and off the field.”
Scheduled to appear in the Chesapeake Bowl are Eddie Goldman, Cyrus Jones, Ronald Darby and Wes Brown. Stefon Diggs (Good Counsel, Olney MD) was invited to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl (January 7, 2012 (at) 1:00 pm ET on NBC.) Eddie Goldman (Friendship Collegiate, Washington DC) was invited to participate in the Under Armour All-American Game (January 5, 2012 (at) 7:30 pm ET on ESPN) along with Cyrus Jones (Gilman School, Baltimore MD,) Wes Brown (Good Counsel, Olney MD) and Ronald Darby (Potomac High School Potomac, MD.)
"These young men represent a great deal of talent, and The Chesapeake Bowl features not only these four but also Washington DC's Gatorade Player of the Year in Albert Reid (Friendship Collegiate, Washington DC) in addition to Maryland's Gatorade Player of the Year in Cyrus Jones (Gilman School)," said O'Connor.
