The incident happened on June 21 around 2:40 p.m. while the deputy was patrolling in the Knight's Ferry area around Highway 120/108 near Willms Road. Investigators are still trying to figure out what led to the accident, but said they don’t think drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash. The driver doesn’t remember much about the crash or his rescue.
