BodyRockTV - Lisa Marie Featuring: Bicep Curl and Strength in Numbers: The Secret to Fat Loss

Strength in Numbers: The Secret to Fat Loss

Don't let anyone fool you: the secret to fat loss isn't that difficult. You've got to build muscle.
That's it.That’s the most powerful secret to long-lasting fat loss. How you go about building muscle, however, is the difference between scoring serious lean gains, and only seeing puny payoff for all your sweat.

Strength Training for Major Fat Loss

First, you need to eat for strength training. While cutting calories can certainly be a part of fat loss, it can also be a part of muscle loss, when done to extreme or incorrectly. You need to consume enough of your macros (fats, carbs and proteins) to support muscle, and often, when people go on restrictive diets, they do not get enough of one, two or all of these macros. And here's the thing: the more muscle you have, the less fat you have. A pound of muscle needs more energy to be sustained than a pound of fat, and people with more muscle simply have less fat because their bodies eat up more of the energy (i.e.) they consume, so less is stored as fat.
Of course, this doesn't mean that people with loads of muscle can eat whatever they want, but you can bet your ass they aren't starving themselves. They're eating a load of good, (mostly) clean food. And they're looking and feeling sexy and strong as hell.

Weight Loss vs. Fat Loss

First, let's make one crucial distinction: weight loss and fat loss are not necessarily the same thing. When you lose weight, you could be losing fat to be sure, but you could also be losing muscle. However, when you strength train, any weight loss is almost guaranteed to be fat  — though you may not experience a dramatic drop in weight, depending on how much fat you had to lose to begin with. Because muscle is denser than fat (i.e. takes up less room), you could slim down and lose little to no weight. Your dense muscle mass is simply replacing the more flabby fat mass.

The Best Kind of Strength Training for Fat Loss

Any strength training will help your body burn more fat, but the best strength training you can do for fat loss is resistance-based high-intensity interval training (HIIT). HIIT uses short, intense bursts of exercise followed to shorter periods of rest to torch fat while building major muscle. HIIT sessions usually range for 12 minutes to 30 minutes, so you can get a great workout in a relatively short period of time. What's more, you don't need a loads of equipment, but if you want lean muscle gains, you will want at least a few choice pieces.

Our top recommendation for heavy-hitting, heavy-lifting resistance training? The BodyBar. This next-level bar can be loaded with up to 90lbs of weight and features 8-locking grips which allow the handles to rotate so you can hit all the major muscle groups, as well as all those troublesome, hard to reach nooks and crannies. This means you can use the BodyBar for a variety of multi-joint compound movements that build muscle in many groups (e.g. squats, lat pullovers, lunges) or, you can use it for isolated training where you hone in on one muscle group.

For optimal gains, you need to incorporate both kinds of movements into your training. After all, along with nutrition, consistency and adequate rest, exercise variety is a tenant of strength training. Thankfully, with HIIT, you can achieve exercise variety easily and quickly. Let's take a look at BodyBar in action to see how the versatility of the BodyBar helps build incredible head-to-toe lean muscle gains.

Overhead Press + Curl with Hammer Grip

This move works your shoulders, biceps and triceps, so you're getting an incredible multi-muscle upper body workout to help you lean out up top.
The hammer grip means that when you curl, you are targeting your outer biceps -- a notoriously difficult spot to train when you're doing curls with standard barbell.

Overhead Press + Curl with 45 Grip

This move is almost the same as the move above, except the grip: the 45 degree grip means you target your inner biceps more. You still work your shoulders and triceps as you push up, but since your grip is turned out slightly, you nail often neglected regions of your biceps.
Let's look at how the BodyBar hones in on some other tough-to-train spots.
 http://www.avantlink.com/click.php?tt=cl&merchant_id=a7602a87-d993-4dc4-bb0f-d925dfcd1014&website_id=c0e53043-b30e-4b99-bccf-ca157b379287&url=https%3A%2F%2Fshop.bodyrock.tv%2Fproducts%2Fsweatflix-body-bar

3 Grips: Front Raise + Overhead Tricep Extension

Muscles worked in this exercise include shoulders, biceps, and thanks to the underhand grip, you nail the outer of the three triceps.
Now, change the move slightly to a hammer grip, and you hone in on your middle tricep.
Switch it up one more time and change the grip to an overhand grip and you get the innermost triceps.

See?The BodyBar can easily replace all other kinds of barbells and target extremely difficult to train muscle groups to increase overall muscle mass as well as functional strength.

Overhand Row vs. Underhand Row vs. Hammer Row

Overhand rows work your traps, rhomboids and upper back. The underhand row, on the other hand, target more of your lats and your biceps.
The hammer row, which is usually impossible to do with a barbell, zeros in on your middle back  — a notoriously difficult place to train.
Listen. We didn’t design the BodyBar to be a gimmick: we designed it to be a solution. 8 locking grips means hundreds of unique training possibilities for unparalleled strength in numbers. Train smarter, faster, and better and enjoy living your beautiful life in your leaner, fitter, fiercer body. See the results for yourself. Bring home your BodyBar today.

It is no wonder why people who follow a Mediterranean diet have a lower risk of disease and have more energy to perform physical activities.

Good Cops Great Cops - Video Leak Police Featuring: Bodycam: Female Officer Involved Fatal Shooting . Blytheville, Arkansas

BLYTHEVILLE, Arkansas --- Body camera footage released Thursday shows the moment a Blytheville police officer opened fire on Marzues Scott the night of April 7.

Presented by

Tactical Workouts

Scott, 35, can be seen in surveillance video arriving at the Dodge convenience store earlier that night and attacking one of the employees.

Officer Leann Norman, who had only been on the job for 10 months, arrived at the scene about 20 minutes later and found Scott outside the Deerfield Inn across the street.
Upon approaching him, she repeatedly orders him to her patrol car, but he doesn’t respond.
In the video, Norman says, “He hit me in the face twice. I had no choice.”
At one point, he begins approaching her and she starts shouting for him to get back. She then falls to the ground and fires at Scott twice.

A witness interviewed four days later by police supported Norman’s account.
“Then he got up and started after her again and that’s when she shot him a second time,” Sharp said.
“He jumped on her, he got up to her and they went down,” Deerfield Inn manager Jeff Sharp can be heard saying in a police interview. It’s not yet clear how many times Scott was shot, police said, but he was struck at least once. They’re waiting for an autopsy and toxicology report to determine if a second bullet hit him.
Thompson said the department’s internal investigation is still ongoing, but that Norman will be free to return to her normal duties.
Friday, prosecutors wrapped up their review of the case and decided not to file any criminal charges against Norman. “This is obviously traumatic. It’s traumatic for the officer. She’s been 10 months on the job, she’s done a good job so far,” said Blytheville Police Chief Ross Thompson.

Joel Osteen Ministries Featuring: Victoria Osteen - Be Mindful of the Words You Speak

David prayed in Psalm 141, “Lord, set a guard over my mouth. Keep watch over the door of my lips.” He was saying, “God, I am in a difficult situation. Don’t let me speak words that get my life off course. I don’t want to speak what I see and feel. I want to speak what You want. I want to go in Your direction for my life.”   And that’s exactly what you and I need to speak in the midst of the pressures of life. Our words can send us in the direction of God.

We serve a positive God who spoke life and light into a dark and void situation and created this world. And He has given us the privilege to do the same—to speak into our situations, to begin to prophesy our future, to direct our life where it needs to go so that we can obtain the miracles that He has for us. Is it a Resource or the Source?

Post by Joel Osteen
I talked with a man who had worked for the same company for thirty-two years when, out of nowhere, it was sold. He was out of a job and so discouraged. He never dreamed he would have to start over at his age. What could he do? I told him that job was simply the resource God had used to bless him. It was not his source. God was his Source, and He already had another resource lined up. About six months later, the man came back so happy. He said, "I didn't just get another job. I got the position I've always dreamed of." His income was almost double, the benefits were better, and the workplace was closer to his home.
It's easy to look to people or to our job as our source. Yes, God uses people, jobs, and contracts, but they are not the Source. They are simply resources that the Source uses. If you're seeing anything or anyone other than God as your source, when something happens to them, you'll think, "What am I going to do? The source has been cut off." No, the Source is just fine. God is still on the throne. The Scripture says, "Every good and perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights" (James 1:17). That good gift may come through people, but it came from your heavenly Father. Your salary may come through your company, but it came from God. That contract may have come through a connection, but it came from God.
That's why you don't have to play up to people at work or compromise to get a good break. People are not your provider; God is your provider. If you don't understand this, you can make people your god. "If my supervisor doesn't like me, if this contract ends, if this client leaves, how will I make it?" Take people off the throne. People are not your source; God is your source. It's nice when they're good to you and recognize your value, but don't become so dependent on them that you start seeing them as your provider. Recognize that behind the paycheck, behind the career, behind the opportunity is the Most High God. He's causing people to be good to you, causing doors to open, causing clients to seek you out.
Be thankful for the resource, but keep your eyes on the Source. Recognize Him as your source right now and say, "Father in heaven, thank You that You're my provider. You're the Source of everything good in my life. I recognize that every good thing comes from You."

BodyRockTV Lisa Marie Featuring: Resistance Bicep Holds & Curls and Fit Foods: Adaptogens & Where to Find Them

Fit Foods: Adaptogens and Where to Find Them

Adaptogens aren’t anything new; natural medicine has been touting their benefits for years, but science is slowly starting to catch up. Studies are starting to show that they can be effective and natural ways to treat the various mental and physical effects of stress. Adaptogens are actually plants, herbs, and fungi that grow naturally and can be used as supplements, brewed into teas, or even cooked into your food for a fit boost. You can find them at most health food stores, pharmacies, and even in your grocery store. Keep reading to find out the most common and most-used adaptogens and exactly how they can benefit you. Of course, make sure you check with your doctor first before introducing anything new into your regimen!
  1. Panax Ginseng

You’ve definitely heard of ginseng, and probably already use it for an energy boost from time to time. Panax ginseng (found in Asia) is also very well known as an adaptogen thanks to its myriad of potential benefits found by using its root. In humans, studies have shown that Panax ginseng can improve overall calmness, while also working to improve the working memory performance of adults. Other studies in animals have shown that Panax ginseng could potentially help with other stress response systems and with treating stress disorders.
Add ginseng to smoothies for a delicious and easy way to boost your intake!
  1. Holy Basil

Holy basil is a plant found in India that has been a huge part of Ayurvedic medicine, and it’s not hard to see why. Aside from having a pretty compelling name, holy basil has been a go-to for everything from the common cold to skin infections. The research is still minimal, but preliminary studies have shown holy basil to have stress-fighting abilities thanks to three phytochemical compounds that combat physical stress. The leaves, stems, and seeds are used to create various medicines, but you can also add it to stir-fry dishes and soups thanks to its peppery taste.
  1. Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha is also known as Indian ginseng, and this adaptogen has long been thought to lessen the effect of stress on the body in various ways. A recent double blind study, however, has actually proven ashwaganda to be an effective and safe way to improve adults’ resistance towards stress, and therefore to have a better quality of life. The root and berry of this plant are used for their adaptogen properties, but beware: the root has a strong aroma that might be off-putting at first.
  1. Cordycep Mushrooms

If you love your mushrooms, you’re going to love these adaptogens. Cordyceps is a type of rare fungus grown in the high mountain regions of China that has been shown to reduce cortisol levels, which become elevated when we’re stressed and can cause weight gain. It may also help with athletic performance, by protecting the body from chronic stress.
Including adaptogens into a healthy diet can be a great way to help your body manage stress, but they can only do so much. Living well starts with exercise, adequate sleep and a balanced diet packed with nutritious food. A meal plan (like our NEW meal plan) can help you achieve that. Not only will our nutrition guide teach you the right foods to eat to achieve your goals, but a meal plan will show you exactly how to make those foods work for you, day in and day out with great recipes and healthy tips.
Your best, strongest, most beautiful body starts with the inside out. Grab our new meal plan and recipe guide today.

iHealthTube Featuring: Fluoride, Vaccines, Now Fish Oil? And Natural Treatments For Dog Itching And Cat Bladder Infections

So many suggestions regarding our health are changed over time. Could fish oil be the next? Dr. Robert Rowen discusses his beliefs about fish oil and why that might be the case. Is what we thought about fish oil wrong?

Natural Treatments For Dog Itching And Cat Bladder Infections

By: Dr. Andrew Jones

The skin: why your dog is itching

The skin is the largest organ of your pets' body and reflective of what is going on in the body. Regularly brush your pet looking for fleas, lice or ticks. The hair coat should be soft and shiny.

If you are seeing areas of excessive shedding in your pet then you may be dealing with certain skin conditions such as mange, ringworm, hypothyroid disease or allergies; treatments for these are discussed in detail in my book, Veterinary Secrets Revealed.

If your pet has areas of hair missing around the face that are not itchy, then he may have a type of mange called demodex. This small parasite shows up in pets with depressed immune systems.

One very safe effective treatment is Vitamin E given at 400IU per 40lbs once daily for 3-4 weeks.

If your pet has an excess of flaky skin (dandruff), then she may be in need of a essential fatty acid supplement. Flax is the best source for dogs at a dose of 1 teaspoon per cup of dog food. For cats use the liquid supplement (such as fish oil).

Take note of any palpable lumps or bumps.

Lipomas (benign fatty tumors) commonly occur on the chest wall. If your dog has a soft moveable lump on her chest, then it is probably a fatty tumor.

Sebaceous cysts are another common lump; they can often be distinguished by squeezing out a cheesy substance. They are also very soft. Lumps and bumps become more prevalent as your pet ages and their immune system weakens.

The most important thing in helping your pet is having them on a premium quality diet and supplementing with additional antioxidants. The ones I suggest using are Vitamin E, Vitamin C and specific flavonoids.

Any lumps that are firm, rapidly growing, not easily moveable should be considered serious and examined by your veterinarian.

Allergies are one of the most common reasons that I see pets. There are a huge number of allergens. The 3 main classes are Food, Fleas and Environmental. The most common signs are excessive scratching, paw and anal licking, hair shedding and excess dandruff.

If you suspect that your pet has an allergy, then the first 2 things that I suggest are to eliminate external parasites as a cause, and to feed a hypo-allergenic diet for 4-6 weeks (there are many available).

Some very helpful at home remedies that I often use are:

TO THE BATH. An oatmeal shampoo with cool water will ease the itchiest skin. Leave the shampoo on for 10 minutes then rinse well. With the most severe allergies, bathe your pet twice weekly.

SOOTHE IT TOPICALLY. Calendula ointment is a herbal medication that has been successfully used to relieve the itch. Apply a thin coat twice daily to affected areas.

THE SUPPLEMENT CONNECTION. Fatty Acid supplements are very helpful in decreasing the level of inflammation. Omega 3 fatty acids are most important. A great, inexpensive source is ground Flax Seeds; I give 1 tsp per cup of dog food. Cats are unable to metabolize Flax, so I only recommend the liquid supplement for them. Other sources include fish oil, primrose oil and specific veterinary supplements.

Evaluation of the Genital and Urinary system - cat bladder infections...

In male dogs look at the sheath of the penis to ensure there is no abnormal discharge. This is more common in intact males, so an easy remedy is to have your dog neutered. In female dogs examine the vulva. A common problem is skin fold infections.

These can be treated by washing the skin folds twice daily with an antiseptic such as Hibitane and applying a soothing cream such as Aloe Vera.

The urinary system is more difficult to evaluate, but there are some things you can do at home. Signs of a bladder infection are frequently urination, which may have blood and may be painful.

There are a number of home remedies for bladder infections, the most effective are Vitamin C and Cranberry juice. The Vitamin C acidifies the urine making it more difficult for the bacteria to grow, as well as dissolving the more common type of crystal, struvite. The Vitamin C dose is 250mg per 20lbs daily.

If you have a male cat, then it is imperative to determine that he is not completely blocked up. Using your thumb and other four fingers, palpate the entire lower abdomen. An obstructed bladder will feel like a firm distended balloon. If your male cat has this condition, it is an emergency and he must be treated by a veterinarian!

I discuss ways to prevent your cat from getting obstructed in my book; the most important thing is to feed a diet higher in moisture. This is accomplished with canned food. Then depending on the type of crystal he has it is important to either acidify the urine (with struvite) or make the urine more alkaline (oxalate crystals). An easy way to acidify the urine is to raise the meat protein level. Making the urine more alkaline involves decreasing the protein level and adding a supplement, potassium citrate.

If some of these tips and treatments have helped you, then get your copy of my book, Veterinary Secrets Revealed, today.
