Be Blessed Financially

by Creflo Dollar | 21 Feb 2018
If you’ve ever wondered how to scrape together the money to pay the next round of bills, you’re not alone. Many of us have been at the point where we feel like we’re living paycheck to paycheck, and we wonder if there’s more to life than just barely scraping by. There is, and if we study our Bibles, we learn that struggling isn’t God’s will for us. God wants us to live abundant, prosperous lives, including in our finances.
Most people have become resigned to living in lack and insufficiency, but this is completely unnecessary. The world may tell us we’ll always struggle financially, but the Word of God tells us something completely different: “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). Our minds are powerful tools and, when we believe in God’s ability and willingness to prosper us, things begin to change.
God loves us, and He doesn’t want to see us toiling and working hard with no results. He wants us to be happy and have more than enough. This is true not just in our finances, but also in life. “For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee” (Psalm 128:2). When we decide to agree with what God says about us, we open ourselves up to receive the blessings He has for us.
God made us free moral agents. He won’t force anything on us, including financial prosperity. Choosing to believe what He says opens the door for His good things to come our way. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11, NKJV ). God brings financial peace and bright futures for those who trust Him.
Jesus came to earth to break the stranglehold the devil had on people; poverty was one of the curses that Jesus destroyed. “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich” (2 Corinthians 8:9). In heaven, He had everything He could ever possibly need, but He willingly exchanged it so that we could live in abundance.
When we combine wise money management with the Word of God in this area, we succeed. In the natural, this includes strategies like living within our means, paying off debt, and saving regularly. In the supernatural, this means avoiding greed and maintaining the proper attitude toward wealth. “And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth” (Luke 12:15). The world may say otherwise, but money is simply a tool to use to help others.
God is aware that we all need money, but we spend far too much time worrying about it. We can trust in His provision when our priorities are correct. “…For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:32, 33). Trusting God’s Word and putting Him first results in abundance on all levels.
