Volt Athletics Featuring: The Ultimate Strength and Conditioning Software and Volt's Guide to Dominating Your Summer Training

Take your team to the next level with the ultimate strength and conditioning software, Volt Athletics.

Volt's Guide to Dominating Your Summer Training

Summer is almost here!
Perhaps you didn’t have the year you were expecting last season, or maybe you’re coming off a historic run! In either case, the summer is a reminder that the past is past, and that next season is right around the corner.

The summer is often the best time for athletes to develop. As a young athlete, there are few times throughout the year where school responsibilities can take a back seat to your performance. Commit yourself to a consistent routine over the summer, and you’ll show up to tryouts/pre-season camp with more power, speed, and control than ever before. Our top 3 steps to your best summer ever (yes, really) are below…

Step 1: Paint the Big (Clear) Picture

This is important. Motivation is fleeting. You might be pumped and ready to train now, but it’s common to lose motivation over time. There are going to be days where you don’t want to go to the gym, friends will invite you to events that get in the way of your training, and lifting might get boring and monotonous. This is why we must keep our sights focused on the big picture, the end game, the WHY behind your commitment to training.
Here’s a simple exercise with a big payout:
  • Grab a pen and paper.
  • Write down a description of the athlete you want to be.
  • Describe how that athlete behaves -- both in practice and competition.
  • Create a plan to hold yourself accountable to become that person.

Step 2: Commit as a Team

You don’t have to put all the pressure on yourself. Creating team goals, or goals with a training partner can be a useful method for staying consistent through the ups and downs of the off-season. The teams that we’ve seen do this most effectively typically understand the importance of consistent training, establish participation goals for the team, and have captains/leaders/training partners in place to keep teammates accountable to those goals all before leaving campus for the summer.
Remember, it’s the expectations we fulfill - not the expectations we set - that determines our team culture.

Step 3: Start Now!

What’s the best way to stay consistent with your summer training?
It often takes several weeks to establish a new behavior as part of your “normal” routine. Cortex will automatically keep track of the number of workouts you complete in a row, so you can begin building confidence and momentum going into the summer. Stack your workout streak up to double-digits, and you’ll be more likely to think twice about skipping a workout and breaking your streak to go hang out at the beach. For what it’s worth, we absolutely recommend going to the beach...after you’ve made time for your workout.

The Takeaway
It’s pretty simple, each day is an opportunity for you to get closer to becoming the athlete you want to be. The decisions you make now will either take you closer or further away from your goal. Summer brings no shortage of distractions to an athlete’s life. However, unlike school, these summertime distractions are, for the most part, optional. By making decisions that align with your goals, you take control of your current situation and your future opportunities.
How will you use the summer?

iHealthTube Featuring: Is This Toxin 'Everywhere'? And Diabetes, Types, Causes, Symptoms And Management

Thanks to numerous court cases, glyphosate is in the news quite a bit. It's only been around for a few decades, but are we finally seeing the long-term risks involved with its use? Dr. Ann Shippy is an expert on toxicity and she discusses the prevalence of the toxin in our world.
Diabetes, Types, Causes, Symptoms And Management

Diabetes is a health condition where the body had a problem with the hormone insulin.
Under normal circumstances, the pancreas (an organ behind the stomach) give out insulin to help the body store and use sugar and fat from the food we eat. Diabetes can develop when the pancreas produces little or no insulin or when the body does not respond correctly to insulin. Diabetes has no cure yet, for now individuals living with diabetes need to manage their disease to stay or live healthy.

Diabetes can occur in different types, but the three major types are: Type 1, Type 2 and gestational diabetes. Type 1 diabetes occurs when the insulin producing cells of the pancreas(beta cells) are destroyed by the immune system. People with this type of diabetes produce no insulin and must use insulin injection to control their blood glucose and stay alive. Type 1 diabetes most commonly starts in people Under the age of 20, but may occur at any age.

Type 2 diabetes is different from type1, because individual with type2 diabetes produces insulin. But the insulin their pancreas secretes is either not enough or the body doesn't recognize it and use it efficiently. When there is no insulin in the blood or the insulin is not in action, glucose can't be moved to the body cells for work. It occurs in overweight and obese people above 40 years.

Gestational diabetes occur in pregnancy. Changes in hormone during pregnancy can cause changes in insulin ability to work properly. This type of condition occurs in almost 4% of all pregnancies. Gestational diabetes risks occurs in pregnant women who are over 25 years and overweight before pregnancy.

Prediabetes can happen when your blood sugar is higher than normal but is not enough to be called diabetes, people with prediabetes has a high risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.

Hence, diabetes can be caused by several factors like, family history, if your family member or grand parents had cases of diabetes, you are probably going to develop such in the future. Being overweight or obese is another risk factor of developing diabetes, if your body mass index(BMI) is 25.0-29.9kg/m^2(overweight) or 30kg/m^2 and above(obese).
Your lifestyle is another major cause of developing diabetes, if you live a life of no physical activity or exercise for a long time, you are likely to develop this type of health problem. Drinking too much alcohol is also a contributor to this problem.

Furthermore, symptoms of type 1 diabetes may include the following: increased thirst, increased hunger, dry mouth, frequent urination, unexplained weight loss, fatigue, blurred vision, labored or heavy breathing, loss of consciousness. Symptoms of type 2 diabetes may include: slow healing or cuts, itching of the skin, yeast infection, recent weight gain, numbness or tingling of the hands and feet, impotence or erectile dysfunction.

According to the American Diabetes Association(ADA), this health condition is the seventh leading cause of death in the U.S. It's complications include:
*Dental and gum disease,
*Eye problem and sight loss,
*Foot problems, numbness, ulcer, injuries and cuts,
*Heart disease,
*Nerve damage,
*Stroke,
*Kidney disease.

Finally, diabetes can be managed by the following ways:
* Keeping the blood glucose low by balancing diet with medication and exercise.
* Keeping your blood cholesterol and triglyceride(lipids) low, this can be achieved by consuming diet low in fat (30%) or less and by reducing saturated fat and cholesterol.
* Controlling/keeping your blood pressure between 130/80.
* Avoid the development of diabetes related issues.
* Eat balanced diet.
* Exercise regularly.
* Taking medications correctly.
* Monitor your blood sugar level at home regularly.
* Always go for check ups.

Leon Churchill Reviews On the Factors that Make a City Feel Safe
By: Casey Carpenter

Which city is considered the world’s safest? Data from the Safe Cities Index, a brainchild of the Economist’s Intelligence Unit (EIU), puts forth a rather interesting answer. While some may think of a "safe" city as one with as few inhabitants as possible (less people, less crime, apparently), the title of the world’s safest city goes to Tokyo—ironically the most populous metropolis on the planet.

The word "safety", when discussed in city terms, almost always brings to mind one thing: crime. But it’s not always the case. City planning resources like Leon Churchill reviews stress other factors, such as sanitation, infrastructure, healthcare availability and quality, financial security, and in today’s predominantly digitalized world, cybersecurity. All these factors are vital when considering whether a specific location is safe or not.

In an attempt to delve into the public’s
perception of a place’s safety, some researchers have created a special online tool, which asks users to compare images of cities like New York or Boston, and subsequently judge which felt safest. Among the images presented were city streets littered with trash, which the users rated as unsafe. Once the trash was edited out the picture, there was a massive 30 percent increase in perception of safety.

In general, city safety relies heavily on sound urban planning. With it, authorities can easily identify root causes of problems, establish local government presence, and build trust between the population and institutions, which is considered an effective crime prevention strategy. City planning helps increase safety in various ways, as most Leon Churchill reviews show.

One method is through mixed use development. By combining residential, employment, and commercial zones within neighborhoods, city planners aim to create more opportunities for active and passive surveillance—therefore reducing the exposure to possible violence and enabling commercial activities to attract pedestrian activity. Another is sound use of existing public facilities for occupational activities: a well-maintained public space elicits a sense of ownership and identity, thus helping reduce crime.

There’s a wide variety of factors and situations that make a city feel safer than others, which all combine to achieve a common goal. What matters most is that these factors be recognized and tended to continuously. For more information, visit cxcglobal.co.uk/component/newsarticles/article/270.

Jesus the Christ - His Love and Nature
By: Faye Hines

Likewise imagining what Jesus looked like, the way Jesus the Christ walked and talked is in addition a mystery. Details on the Lord’s favorite meals and moment in time of the daylight hours is a delight come spot on, meant for all of us to know, and the just evidence we take part in pertaining to His characteristics is through the expressions He spoke thousands of years past.

Hundreds of movies on the life and point in time of Jesus commit illustrations on what He probably looked like but all person who lives on God’s lush earth contain a unique personality. We know He is the son of God, but Jesus is a chap who had needs, wants and requirements. I’ve personally learned that Jesus wanted acceptance from His community, several wanted Him and more or less rejected Him. This delicate need of Jesus the Christ, remains to this period in the role of millions pick up again to believe Jesus as their Lord and Savior all year.

The nature of Jesus the Christ, from what we realize in the scriptures, shows how He is a chap who loved folks who felt unloved, He cautioned many to reach and ‘sin no more,’ and He furthermore had a deep passion for every goal the Father sent Him to carry out. Primarily, I want to dig deeper inside the revelation about His tenderness.

Jesus held these words, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him" (John 14:23). Notice how He says if you loved Him you desire keep His word? So many inhabitants abuse the inkling of God being love and more or less ignorantly think it’s OK to take God’s love exclusive of giving love in return. Rarely do we human beings love those who don’t love us back, nor would we settle for a correlation that lacks cooperation and is absent from love. In other terms, God can love you more greatly once you decide to love Him exactly the same.

God is not emotional with His love but we humans can stay so greedy with our affections and love. The Lord is very constant and balanced with His love and it’s time for us to be taught how to be lasting and balanced with our relationships. Therefore, the Father wants you to wish Him with a lot of passion and trust.

The Father requires perfection and yet we hear a lot of sermons telling us how no individual is wonderful. The certainty is, everything has been perfected through Jesus the Christ! The word of God is great, Heaven is spot on, God is complete, the blue sky is great but we think all humans ought to lack perfection! Moses was the meekest gentleman on earth when killing an Egyptian, and he was able to go into God’s presence, on Mount Horeb, this seems total to me. "Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you" (John 5:14).

In concluding, Jesus the Christ done all goal He prearranged made known to complete and He did it flawlessly. He walked and talked approaching the Father and how much He gives life to persons who pick to receive Him. It is time intended for you to consent to Him complete His wish and appeal for your life so you can live triumphantly.
