Strength Training

  • Author Sam Cooke

Strength training is a great way to lose weight it is a fact. More and more women and men are discovering this and heading over to the weights section. The problem with strength training is people tend to associate it with weight gain and bulking up.

What I want to explain to you is that you can strength train to lose weight and in the process gain muscle to become toned. As you can see I am going to focus on strength training for weight loss in this blog post today. By the end of this blog post you should hopefully be on your way to develop your own weight loss routines - strength training.

So maybe you have been searching the internet for a while listening to Tom, Dick & Harry spout this and that about how to lose weight in 10 days. It can get you demotivated constantly applying mis-information and nothing working. I am happy for you that you have found this blog and website because we will help you because strength training is the best way to lose weight and keep it off.

Quick Weight Loss Plan

Work with weights 2 days a week and do cardio 3 or 4 days a week. By doing this simple plan you work your muscles the right way. You MUST log all your workouts and you will be amazed with the results.

This will result in you working under 60 minutes a day and only 4 or 5 days a week. Each set of your weights should be between 10 and 15 repetitions depending where you are at. Your cardio plan should be a mix of interval training and fast paced walking(which should include some running) either treadmill or actual walking, both are fine. One last thing you could use is a stability ball.

All of this equipment would be easily less than $200 and you would start seeing results pretty quickly.

So Remember -

You will create a nice layer of pure muscle which will create a beautiful lean toned body.

The more muscle that you have the more calories you will burn, this means the more calories your body uses the more weight you lose!

Don't Forget To -

Check your fitness levels.

Work your body, each muscle must be worked at least a couple of times a week.

Set your initial repetitions high and try and up them.

Set yourself realistic goals.

Keep a diary of a every workout.

You have got to keep going, DO NOT GIVE UP!

In the Mexican Culture we eat a lot of flower based foods. Confession: this was the hardest part of the entire transformation. We eat everything with tortillas and bread. It’s been supper hard when our family gets together every weekend  (it feels like everyday) and eats not so healthy. I wasn’t just trying to keep my self from eating with them but also my husband.. Mexican food is his weakness!! I really believe that he (my husband) is my biggest challenge but we worked together to make it work.

Tactical PE Featuring: Houston Defender Left With No Choice But To Draw From the Drop

https://bakertargets.com/ is my go-to source for targets for training and practice! Give them a shot the next time you order targets and thank them for sponsoring today’s video of Houston Defender Left With No Choice But To Draw From the Drop! From Active Self Protection

LESSON BRIEF

Tactical flexibility may reduce the chance of you becoming a target.

In a gunfight you must make yourself as compact as possible, to get behind cover and concealment. Otherwise you can potentially expose a leg or an arm or another part of your body.

When it’s time to return fire and go on the offensive, you need the range of motion to place your body in the optimal position to get the shot. Being tactically flexible gives you another opportunity to win.

You may be a law enforcement officer sitting in a patrol car. You start out in a resting state. In an instant you get a call and must leap out of your vehicle.

Are you physically able to jump out quickly and go into a full sprint?

Perhaps the suspect leads you over a chain-link fence.

Can you raise your leg high enough to get that first bite on the chain-link fence?

Can you quickly grab the top of the fence and pull yourself over, while wearing 40 pounds of duty gear?

And now it's time to fight. Get started today!

When you love your neighbor as yourself warriors, you are leading in the most Godly way!
No, it's not easy when as a believer who is in the world but not of the world, engages with non-believers and occasionally meets with demons taking over human bodies. But love is the most powerful force in the universe. As we are taught in the word God is love, so it would behoove us to learn as much as we can about it. Then apply it to our daily lives.

LEADERSHIP AND COUNSEL FROM ABOVE

by Creflo Dollar

Getting wise advice is the key to making good decisions. The input we receive from others before we take action can guide us into the right choices; however, the opposite is also true when we follow foolish advice. Therefore, we must be mindful of who we go to for guidance. Following advice from the world leads us astray; following advice from godly people allows God to give us His wisdom.

In the Old Testament, one of the reasons why David was so successful was that he routinely sought out God’s counsel before battle and prior to making any important decisions. When he went to war with the Philistines he wouldn’t make a move without consulting God, first. David succeeded because he trusted God for leadership (1 Samuel 23:2-5). We need the same kind of wisdom.

Surrounding ourselves with godly advisors greatly boosts our chances of success. Life has many hidden pitfalls we’ll never see with our own limited knowledge. What can appear calm on the surface may be completely different underneath. Whether we blunder into a bad situation or stay safe depends on who we listen to. Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety” (Proverbs 11:14).

There’s a cost to everything we do. Gathering information before taking the first step in something gives us the insight we need to calculate the best course of action. When everything is on the line, we can’t afford to make the wrong decision.

For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.  Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? (Luke 14:28-31).

The wisdom to see something through to a successful finish comes only from God.

Accepting advice can be humbling, but it enables God to give us the guidance we need. He knows much more than we do. Depending on God to tell us where to step, and what to avoid, gives us a tremendous advantage over others who depend on themselves to make the right call. Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end” (Proverbs 19:20).

Taking godly advice is difficult, if not impossible, for proud people. Refusing to listen to others’ warnings against doing something that will end badly can cause us to make avoidable mistakes. God calls such prideful people fools. Fools think their own way is right, but the wise listen to others” (Proverbs 12:15, NLT). Often our willingness to accept a course correction from other believers is an indication of our spiritual maturity.

Life has too many moving parts to successfully navigate it on our own. Sometimes the best advice is to simply rely on God to lead us where we need to go. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5, 6). He’ll never steer us wrong.

GET OUT OF GOD’S WAY

by Creflo Dollar |

We live in a world that encourages us to depend on our five senses to process what’s going on around us. The prevailing mindset is that whatever we can’t see, hear, taste, touch, or smell isn’t real. This is the natural realm that requires no faith whatsoever; however, God operates in the supernatural realm, which is just as real as the natural. If we are to experience what He wants to accomplish in our lives, we must stop depending on our carnal senses and trust Him to do what seems impossible.

Relying on our physical senses can hinder our belief in God’s ability and get in the way of seeing His work firsthand. During Jesus’ earthly ministry the disciples had the same problem. On one occasion, when they couldn’t cast a demon out from a boy, Jesus got the job done and later explained to them what went wrong. And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you” (Matthew 17:20). Seeing the physical manifestations of the demon in the boy kept the disciples from fully believing in their authority over the unclean spirit; Jesus didn’t have that problem because He looked beyond physical appearances and relied on His faith.

We’ve become accustomed to having faith only in what we see others say or do. Worldly philosophy encourages us to place our trust in what it calls wisdom, but worldly wisdom comes from imperfect people who can let us down. Jesus has no flaws or imperfections; therefore we’re wise not to trust in anyone else but Him. That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God” (1 Corinthians 2:5).

Our overdependence on what we can see gets in God’s way when He’s trying to manifest what we’ve been praying for. We tend to struggle with something we can’t comprehend intellectually. The solution for this is to step aside and get out of God’s way. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). Faith goes against the grain of everything we’ve been taught about intellectual reasoning, but it’s the key to unlocking the supernatural.

In the natural realm, 20/20 vision is a good thing. In the spiritual realm, it might hold us back. One of the biggest obstacles a believer has to overcome is the temptation to live by what they see instead of what they believe. The Bible says that we are to walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).

Every day we see people struggling unsuccessfully with issues that dominate them. As Christians, we’ve been set apart from this fruitless struggle; we’re the ones who draw attention to ourselves because we have victory over things that defeat others. It all comes down to trusting God in every situation, no matter how bad it looks. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith” (1 John 5:4).

God gave us physical senses to enhance our enjoyment of life, but we need to know when to use them and when not to. Exercising our authority over them opens us up to the eternal things of heaven. Using godly wisdom in this area allows Him to do mighty things on our behalf.
