Creflo Dollar Ministries Featuring: Saturday Service and Knowing God to Find His Will For Your Life - Pt 2

Summary

If we struggle with issues and problems, it may be because we are going through life without knowing God. A personal relationship with Him completely transforms our lives, and empowers us to do great things that we could never do on our own. Knowing God personally, instead of simply knowing about Him, multiplies His grace and peace in our lives. It strengthens our faith, brings forth the fruits of the spirit, and increases our love. In an age when most people are unsure of how they are supposed to live, a relationship with God reveals His specific will for our lives. This type of knowledge is an outflow of knowing Him. When others are wondering why they were born, spending time with God brings us clarity and purpose in this area.
  1. God reveals His will for our lives through the Holy Spirit. He wants us to see the light.
    1. Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue (2 Peter 1:1-3).
      1. A relationship with God increases grace and peace in our lives.
    2. God does not want us to be uncertain about His will for our lives; we should be very clear and sure about what it is.
      1. Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life” (John 8:12, NLT).
      2. Jesus once again addressed them: “I am the world’s Light. No one who follows me stumbles around in the darkness. I provide plenty of light to live in” (John 8:12, MSG).
    3. And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us (1 Corinthians 2:12, NLT).
      1. We must know the Spirit of God; most people neither know nor understand Him. He is not simply a jerk or a jiggle at church; He wants to be with us everywhere and at all times.
      2. The Spirit reveals God’s will for us.
    4. …But he lets us in on it. God offers a full report on the gifts of life and salvation that he is giving us… (1 Corinthians 2:12, MSG).
      1. The Spirit gives us a full report on what God is doing in our lives. He does not hide anything from us.
      2. A relationship with God lets us in on His plans.
  1. We can worship God with how we live our lives. Everything we do can reflect our faith.
    1. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is (Ephesians 5:17).
      1. True wisdom is to understand God’s will.
    2. I appeal to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you] (Romans 12:1, 2, AMPC).
      1. The aim of all human life should be to show that God and Christ are infinitely valuable in everything we do.
      2. True worship is not confined to the pulpit; we can live a life of worship. Worship does not exist outside of a relationship with God.
      3. A relationship with God should not be motivated by fear of going to hell, but by love for Him. We should seek His presence not because we have to, but because we want to. d. For in him we live, and move, and have our being… (Acts 17:28).
      4. For in him we live, and move, and have our being… (Acts 17:28).
    3. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:5, 6).
      1. We acknowledge God through our relationship with Him. When we spend time with Him, He will tell us which way to go.
  1. Trusting God positions us to receive more understanding of His will for our lives.
    1. For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication (1 Thessalonians 4:3).
      1. We must obey what we already know is God’s will.
      2. Sanctification says, “I am going to stand opposite to the world.”
      3. By trusting God to help us with what we already know to do, we prepare ourselves for learning His will for the rest of our lives.
    2. Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety (Proverbs 11:14).
      1. Seeking godly input keeps us safe. We must not depend solely on how we feel; spiritual counsel is important.
    3. As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God (1 Peter 4:10).
      1. God equips us with the skills we need to do His will. We must pay attention to the individual gifts He has put inside each of us.
      2. God gave us our gifts to serve others, not ourselves.
