Jackson Named Nebraska Danger Player of the Week

Jackson Named Nebraska Danger Player of the Week

Defensive lineman Xzavie Jackson didn’t lead the team in tackles, but he was head and shoulders above his peers when it came to impact in Sunday’s 59-23 win over the Green Bay Blizzard.

Jackson only recorded four total tackles in the game, but it’s what he accomplished in those four tackles that earns him the Nebraska Danger Player of the Week honor in Week 3. Jackson tallied 3.5 tackles for loss and was responsible for the only two Danger sacks in the game.

The IFL sack leader’s game was highlighted by a play where he forced a fumble, scooped it up and took it back 20 yards for a game-sealing touchdown in the second quarter that at that time put the Danger up 35-7.

Although Jackson only recorded four tackles in the game, his presence in the trenches forced several Green Bay Blizzard miscues, including a late-game interception when Green Bay tried to turn to back-up quarterback Raymond Cotton.

The Jackson-led Danger defense stifled the Green Bay offense Sunday afternoon, holding them to just 3.5 yards per play and only 56 yards passing in a league known for its high-scoring affairs.

The Nebraska Danger will now hit the road for the first time in 2018, as they travel to Cedar Rapids for an early season rematch. The Danger are one of teams tied atop 2-0 with the Iowa Barnstormers, while the Titans enter the contest at 1-2. Kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m./CT on Monday, March 19th.

Tickets for the 2018 Nebraska Danger Football Season are on sale through the Heartland Events Center Ticket Office, Ticketmaster.com, or through your local Pump and Pantry Locations. For more information, visit dangerfootball.com.
