Week 11 Players of the Week Announced

Week 11 Players of the Week Announced

The Indoor Football League (IFL) is proud to announce the Vidswap.com Players of the Week for Week 11 of the 2019 IFL season.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Brandon Sheperd (WR, Sioux Falls Storm)
The Sioux Falls Storm escaped the Quad City Steamwheelers 59-46 in Week 11 and move to 7-2 on the season. Quad City brought the game to within a touchdown with less than a minute to go but the Storm offense sealed the game with another touchdown. The Storm's offense was fueled by the explosive plays of WR Brandon Sheperd. One of the Storm's most reliable players this season, Sheperd nabbed eight passes for 131 yards and three touchdowns in the game. He had touchdown receptions of 15,16, and 25 yards. In addition, he also added 47 kick return yards and finished his night with 178 all-purpose yards. Sheperd now ranks second in the IFL in receiving yards with 627. The Storm host the Green Bay Blizzard in Week 12.

Honorable Mention: Drew Powell (QB, Arizona Rattlers), Keyvan Rudd (WR, Quad City Steamwheelers), Kent Shelby (WR, Sioux Falls Storm), Lorenzo Brown (QB, Sioux Falls Storm), Jake Medlock (QB, Tucson Sugar Skulls)
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Allen Chapman (DB, Arizona Rattlers)
The Arizona Rattlers held off the Nebraska Danger 56-46 in Week 12, clinching a playoff spot and moving to 9-0 on the season. In what was a closer, more back and forth game than anticipated, veteran DB Allen Chapman proved to be the difference maker. Down by ten with less than two minutes remaining, the Nebraska Danger were driving to bring the game within three points, however Chapman snagged an interception at the Rattlers' own five yard line, sealing any comeback attempt by the Danger. Chapman also had an interception in the third quarter which led to a Rattlers scoring drive. The Arizona defensive back finished his night against the Danger with three tackles, two interceptions and a pass breakup. The Arizona have a bye in Week 12 before traveling to take on the San Diego Strike Force in Week 13.
Honorable Mention:,Jeff Branch (DL, Cedar Rapids River Kings), Treyvon Williams (LB, Iowa Barnstormers), Chris Martin (DL, Nebraska Danger), Robert Jones (LB, Quad City Steamwheelers), Tyler Thornton (LB, San Diego Strike Force)
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Davonte Sapp-Lynch (KR, Nebraska Danger)
The Nebraska Danger's comeback attempt against the Arizona Rattlers fell short 56-46 in Week 11. Aided by the appearance of his brother NFL star  RB Marshawn Lynch on the sidelines, Davonte Sapp-Lynch proved to be just as exciting on special teams as he is on offense. Late in the first half with the Rattlers having taken a 14 point lead, Sapp-Lynch returned the Rattlers' kickoff 52 yards for a touchdown. The primary kickoff returner for the game, Sapp-Lynch finished his night with four returns for 97 yards and one touchdown. He also added 26 rushing yards and a touchdown in the loss. The Nebraska Danger  have a bye week in Week 12 before traveling to face the Sioux Falls Storm in Week 13.
Honorable Mention:  Mike Tatum (KR, Bismarck Bucks), Jacob Stytz (K, Quad City Steamwheelers), Marques Rodgers (KR, San Diego Strike Force), Parker Douglass (K, Sioux Falls Storm), Jeremiah Harris (KR, Tucson Sugar Skulls)
