Bulldogs Volleyball Closes Season with Five-Set Win Over Lincoln (PA)

BOWIE, Md. - The A.C. Jordan Arena was electric on Wednesday night for Bowie State Senior Night volleyball action against visiting Lincoln (PA) and the Bulldogs played with intensity all night long, defeating the Lions in five-sets (25-17, 18-25, 25-19, 24-26 and 15-12 to close out the season for the Bowie State Bulldogs.


Bowie State ends the season with a 6-22 overall mark, 2-14 record in CIAA play and 2-8 in the Northern Division. The Bulldogs were paced by its two seniors Kiana Moore (Newark, Del.) and Tia Williams (Abingdon, Md.) with 11 and 10 kills respectively on 24 attacks each. Moore tallied three service aces to go along with a match-high 13 digs and added one block. Williams recorded her 100th kill of the season during set four and contributed two service aces, three digs and three solo blocks in her final match.

Freshman Bianca Tucker (Edgewood, Md.) and Oladia Menchaca (Landover, Md.) recorded double-digit assists, setting up their teammates 14 and 10 times respectively. Junior Kilana Jenkins (Bridgeport, Conn.) played all five sets, chipping in 12 digs in the victory.

Bowie State knocked down 32 kills in the match on 115 attacks (.061) with their best side out attack percentages coming in sets three (52 percent) and five (53 percent).  

Lincoln (Pa.) was led by junior Aubury Coleman (Mason City, Iowa) with 13 kills to go along with 13 digs and three service aces. Senior Mariah Russell (St. Louis, Mo.) recorded a double-double of 11 kills, a match-high 15 digs and added two assists.  Alisa Foster (Philadelphia, Pa.) was responsible for 23 of the teams’ 25 assists and contributed a team-high six service aces, five digs, one solo block and one block assist. Tymera Crudup (Barnegat, N.J.) played well on defense, picking up 10 digs and contributed three service aces on offense.


The loss sets the Lincoln (Pa.) Lions regular season finale record at 4-20 overall, 2-14 in the conference and 2-8 within the Northern Division.
