This is another in my series of articles that explain the Online Publishing Model and how small-time authors and/or self-publishers can use the OPM as a more lucrative alternative to the often archaic and dysfunctional traditional book publishing model. In short, using the OPM you'll make more book sales and you’ll net more profits, faster.
Typically, you will create your book/ebook in a source word processing program such as MS-Word or WordPerfect. Once you have converted it into PDF format you’ll be ready to start selling it via the three primary channels that make up the Online Publishing Model: 1. Sales-Mini-Sites, 2. Digital Download Distributors, 3. Print-On-Demand (POD) Distributors.
This article explains Channel 2, Digital Download Distribution.
Discovering exactly how the digital fulfillment channel works was a major breakthrough for me. That discovery alone has resulted in many thousands of dollars in ebook sales that I otherwise wouldn't have made. Really!
Based on my experience, the use of this one online distribution channel is guaranteed to add thousands of dollars annually to your bottom line sales! That's right -- if you harness the digital fulfillment channel of the OPM you'll sell hundreds more ebooks than you would just selling them from your Web sites.
DIGITAL FULFILLMENT: DEFINITION It's important that you understand exactly what I'm talking about when I use the term "digital fulfillment", as opposed to print-on-demand (POD) fulfillment.
Digital fulfillment refers to when your ebook is delivered to the buyer strictly in electronic form as a "digital download" product. Essentially, it's the same as when your ebook gets downloaded from your Web site, except that, the digital fulfillment is provided by a digital download distribution company through their distribution network.
A typical example of digital fulfillment in action would be when you provide your ebook electronic files (PDF) to a company that distributes digital download ebooks to amazon.com, for example. Amazon.com would then offer your ebook to its customers as a digital download product.
IMPORTANT: When I talk about “digital fulfillment” here, I am NOT talking about delivering a downloadable ebook to your buyers from your own “sales-mini-site”. I’m referring to when one uses third party vendors and/or distributors to deliver a digital version of one’s book through their own channels.
THE SECRET OF DIGITAL FULFILLMENT As I stated in the other parts of this series on the OPM, I have spent the past few years immersing myself in learning about the tools and techniques of successful Internet marketing to help me sell more of my ebooks/books.
In the process, I have purchased scores of "must have" books from many heavy-hitter big-name Internet marketers. But NEVER have I read anything about the digital fulfillment strategy in ANY of those many books/ebooks from the gurus!
In fact, I basically stumbled across this largely unknown money-making publishing secret by accident when I asked a major book selling company if it would be possible to sell my ebooks through their Web sites in addition to my own.
They promptly answered that "yes", there is indeed a way to do that… by using a digital fulfillment company. Although I didn't fully realize it at the time, that was a breakthrough moment for me!
Typically, a digital fulfillment company maintains large digital libraries of books and ebooks. They deliver those products electronically "on demand" as digital download e-books in response to orders from publishers, distributors, booksellers, and libraries.
Bottom Line: The major digital fulfillment companies offer a vast distribution network, folks. Exploiting this channel means much more than just getting your ebook and/or book listed on amazon.com. It means getting your title in front of the vast majority of all ebook wholesalers and retailers!
WHY DIGITAL FULFILLMENT, WHEN YOU ALREADY HAVE A WEB SITE? That's a good logical question, and you may be surprised by the answer.
I have found that there is minimal cross-over between the people that buy ebooks at my Web sites and those who buy them through sites like amazon.com, and others. That's right.
In fact, out of thousands of sales through both channels I have received only one e-mail that indicated a buyer had seen my ebooks at both places.
Another proof of this is that, although I use the same list price for my ebooks on my Web sites and at amazon.com, that company quite often chooses to offer a 30% discount, which actually makes it a much better deal to buy the ebook at their Web site.
In spite of this, sales at my Web sites remain strong. In fact I continue to sell more ebooks from my Web sites. So, it's pretty clear that people aren't doing cross-comparisons of prices.
They appear to be two mutually exclusive groups of shoppers!
(However, I should add that people who buy the ebook at my Web site also receive a number of bonuses that don’t come with the ebook when sold through a distributor).
The key point here being -- if I didn't offer my ebooks online through amazon.com and other digital download distributors, I would probably not make over 95% of those sales through my other distribution channels (i.e. my Web sites). Lucky for me, I now know about this little secret!
DIGITAL FULFILLMENT - EASY TO SET-UP If you're careful, and plan ahead when you create the original version of your ebook that people will purchase and download from your Web site, you'll also be able to provide the same efiles to your digital fulfillment distributor with few changes, if any.
Typically, it will take only 10 to 15 days from the time you submit your efiles until you will start seeing your ebook show up on book retailer Web sites as digital downloads.
This channel works folks! In fact, just this afternoon I checked my account and found that over 30 copies of my Recommendation Letter Kit ebook have sold so far this month, and this is one of the slower months for that product!
I've also sold more than 25 paperback versions (POD) of that same book this month through the same digital distributor, but I'll get into the POD model in the next part of this series.
The really exciting thing about these digital download sales is, as I explained above, they are IN ADDITION to any sales that you will make via your Web site. It's almost like "found money".
That’s what makes using the Online Publishing Model so exciting; it gives you three equally productive selling channels for your books and/or ebooks.

In this week’s episode of Games to Gains, James Grage starts off by complimenting Kerby on all the progress he’s made. By sticking to his nutrition plan, the training program and the supplement schedule that James provided, Kerby has not only put on muscle, he’s improved dramatically in the gym.
James: It used to be that anytime I would ask you to lean forward, that’s where you got all crazy. The neck and the head would start doing weird things. Now you just look really solid and in control.
Kerby: Ya, it feels good when you ask me to do something to actually be able to do it.
Then, the conversation takes more of a personal turn.
James: You’ll never guess who I talked to this week. Kerby: Who? James: I’ll give you a couple of guesses… Kerby: Jay Cutler? James: No. Kerby: Can you give me another hint? James: A woman. Kerby: A woman… hmmm. I don’t know! James: Your mom. Kerby: My mom?! Dang! How did that go?
Without Kerby knowing, his mom had reached out to James earlier in the week:
Charlotte (Kerby’s mom): James, Kerby doesn’t know I’m calling you. He would be mad. But hey, I just wanted to personally thank you for taking initiative in Kerby and just doing the things you’re doing. I mean, you see what we see, and not too many other people see it, so I just wanted to thank you. He lost his sister at 22 in a car accident, and Jim (Kerby’s dad), as you probably know, in the last year and a half he survived stage three throat cancer. So Kerby had a few pretty big hits.
After that conversation, James made a point to tell Kerby how proud his parents were of everything he’s accomplished and everything that he’s doing right now. Not just anyone could pick up and move across the country. Why? Because of fear. So many people are afraid to fail, but when you really think about it, failure is nothing to be afraid of. You just have to realize that you’re going to fail a lot in life, but that’s what makes you stronger and better and smarter.

The Dangers Of Drowsy Driving Are Like Drunk Driving
By: Mickey Noorigian
A recent study, just published in the journal JAMA Pediatrics, has confirmed that inadequate sleep increases the risk of car crashes for young drivers. The study was conducted in New South Wales, Australia, and interviewed more than 19,000 young, newly licensed drivers; all were between 17 and 24. The researchers asked the drivers questions about their sleep habits, including how many hours they slept on weeknights and weekends, then tracked the participants for two years, and obtained police reports to document car crashes.
The drivers who reported sleeping six or fewer hours per night were about 20 percent more likely to be involved in a car crash over a two-year period, compared with those who slept more than six hours a night. Among the sleep-deprived, car crashes were more likely to occur between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. than at other hours. The researchers accounted for other factors that affect car crash risk-age, number of driving hours per week, risky driving behavior-and sleep deprivation stood out as a serious influence. Of drivers who reported getting six or fewer hours of sleep a night, 9.4 percent were involved in a crash, compared with 6.9 percent of drivers who reported more than six hours of sleep a night. In the United States, it's estimated that drowsy driving is responsible for 20 percent of all car crashes-but the majority of studies around this issue have not focused on young people. The researchers added that educating young drivers to prevent drowsy driving should become a priority, as "this group experiences more impairment in alertness, mood and physical performance compared with older age groups with similar sleep deprivation." Driving tired doesn't get as much attention as distracted driving and drunk driving, but it's a serious problem. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates drowsy drivers cause 100,000 automobile crashes annually, resulting in 71,000 injuries and 1,550 fatalities. This results in an estimated 1,550 deaths, 71,000 injuries, and $12.5 billion in monetary losses. These figures may be the tip of the iceberg, since currently it is difficult to attribute crashes to sleepiness. There is no test to determine drowsiness as there is for intoxication State reporting practices are inconsistent. There is little or no police training in identifying drowsiness as a crash factor.. Drowsiness/fatigue may play a role in crashes attributed to other causes such as alcohol. About one million such crashes annually are thought to be produced by driver inattention/lapses. According to data from Australia, England, Finland, and other European nations, all of whom have more consistent crash reporting procedures than the U.S., drowsy driving represents 10 to 30 percent of all crashes. Symptoms of drowsy driving are similar to DUI: slower reflexes and reaction times, comprised memory (forgetting the last few miles driven), lowered alertness, difficulty focusing, restlessness and irritability, swerving and drifting, missing turns, and difficulty keeping your head up. Really, even driving to work safely requires sleeping seven to nine hours the night before. It's pretty much common sense, but bears repeating that alcohol and sedating pharmaceuticals and OTC drugs should be avoided when driving. On a long drive, schedule in rest times. Whenever possible, have two adult drivers in the vehicle, so you can trade shifts. Stopping often to stretch and get fresh air is helpful; chewing gum and chugging coffee are not actually that useful over a longer span of time. Saturday Service Video and More Below ATTITUDE: THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN STRUGGLING OR SOARING
by Taffi Dollar
We’ve all had bad days we’d rather forget, but some people seem to get through them better than others. Life is what we make it, and our attitude can make it a bitter struggle or an epic adventure. Some people admit to being a pessimist, which makes everything seem like an uphill climb. Deliberately choosing to see the silver lining in every cloud lines up with God’s optimistic Word and empowers us to soar high above what brings others down.
Our mindset also gives us the power to strengthen or hurt our relationships with others. We can either draw people to us because we’re pleasant to be around, or drive them away because no one wants to be around a grouch. Our thoughts can have physical manifestations: they can make us look like we just sucked on a lemon or put a smile on our faces. “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things” (Philippians 4:8). It can be easy to dwell on the negative, but deciding to change things up by meditating on the positive is a bit more challenging.
Jesus had the perfect attitude, and we can use Him as our example when we’re tempted to snarl at someone else. He humbly put others first and refused to be self-centered or conceited. “In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5, NIV). This is virtually impossible to do on our own, but He’ll guide us in this area when we meditate on what we read about Him in the Scriptures and prayerfully ask Him for help.
The physical effects of the thoughts we harbor go even deeper than a smile or a frown—they can actually affect our health. “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones” (Proverbs 17:22). There’s a definite link between the mind and the body, and doctors are now acknowledging the role our thinking plays in either keeping us healthy or making us sick. Our attitude makes a major difference in our quality of life on all levels.
To foster healthy relationships with others, we must be on guard against the damaging effects of anger and bitterness, and be willing to forgive others. “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you” (Ephesians 4:31, 32). Everyone makes mistakes, and the way to move past them is to choose to let go of the emotional baggage that drags us down when we nurse grudges. “Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye” (Colossians 3:13). This is part of true Christ-like humility.
Pessimism is the world’s mindset, but it can damage our souls and crush our spirits. This type of thinking isn’t God’s best for us. Trusting in Him when we’re struggling enables us to rise above negative thoughts. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13, NKJV). Believing this will allow Him to bless all our relationships.

PORTLAND- The Maine Mammoths (2-8) host the Carolina Cobras (7-3) in Week 13 in what will be the teams’ second and final time facing each other. The Mammoths were looking to pick up a hot streak, as they defeated the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks (0-9) two weeks ago, but that was abruptly put to an end as the Jacksonville Sharks (7-4) defeated the Mammoths 51-21.
The last time the Mammoths and Cobras played each other, Mammoths Quarterback Jonathan Bane threw 18-of-37 for 217 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions. His top receiver on the night was Edgar Poe Jr. with six receptions for 70 yards and two touchdowns. Shortly behind Poe Jr. was Derrick Macon with five catches for 79 yards and two touchdowns. Devin Wilson totaled five receptions for 57 yards and one touchdown. Those three receivers averaged over 10 yards per catch on the night. Fullback Desmond Maxwell rushed the ball two times and got no yards, however, he caught the ball one time for seven yards.
In their victory against the Steelhawks two weeks ago, Jonathan Bane, for the Mammoths, tossed for 237 yards on 16 completions for five touchdowns and one interception, which was one of his best games in the season so far. Devin Wilson was the star of the show, racking up nine catches for 145 yards and all five touchdowns from Bane. Rob Brown caught five passes for 62 yards. Edgar Poe Jr. had one catch for 20 yards, and Devante Jenkins totaled one reception for 10 yards.
The Mammoths look stronger than what their record shows, but will they be able to prove that against the #2 Cobras this weekend?
Saturday's game will be shown on YouTube Live and will be posted on the team’s social media pages. That will provide all the information on how to watch the game live on your phone or your computer.
The next Mammoths game after this weekend is on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at 7:00 pm (ET) at the Cross-Insurance Arena as they host the number three Columbus Lions (6-3) for Halloween In July.
JACKSONVILLE- The Jacksonville Sharks (7-4) travel to Allentown, PA this weekend to face the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks (0-9). This is the second and final time that the Sharks have faced the Steelhawks, each team having the home field advantage once. The first time these teams met, the Sharks dominated the Steelhawks 44-17 in Jacksonville, Florida. This week, the Steelhawks are at home and are improving. Could they possibly get a victory this weekend against the Sharks?
The Steelhawks defense held Sharks Quarterback Adrian McPherson to 7-of-17 for 98 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, which was one of his worst games as a Shark. The Sharks leading receiver in catches and yards was Chris Gilchrist with three receptions for 41 yards and one touchdown, which ties Kendal Thompkins in touchdowns, who had one reception for 40 yards, and one touchdown. Derrick Ross had one of his best games as a Sharks leading up to that point with 11 rushes for 44 yards and two touchdowns. The defense put a beating on the Steelhawks quarterback, which is why the Sharks were able to put a dominating 44 points on the board against the Steelhawks 17 points. Jermiah Price led the Sharks in tackles and sacks (6.5 tackles, four sacks). Charlie Hunt had a great game, totaling two interceptions for a combined 59 yards and one touchdown.
The Sharks had a sloppy game on offense in Week Six, but they have beat the top teams in the league since then and proved that they can and will do a much better job, as they crushed the Mammoths last weekend in the second half to earn their 100th victory.
If the Sharks defeat the Steelhawks this week, they will finish complete their sweep against the Steelhawks and put them at 0-10 on the season, which would be the worst record in NAL history.
For the first time in franchise history the Massachusetts Pirates (8-3) will take the field in Columbus, Georgia in sole possession of first place in the National Arena League when they face the Lions (6-3) in the Columbus Civic Center this Saturday at 7:00 pm.
The Pirates lead the season series two games to none with both wins coming in the DCU Center in Worcester, MA in thrilling fashion. Both ended with quarterback Sean Brackett throwing a touchdown pass to wide receiver Lavon Pearson in the closing seconds.
In the May 6 contest the Pirates trailed by 15 points in the second half. Brackett’s 10 yard pass to Pearson with five seconds to play secured a 44-37 victory. In the June 16 game Pirates defensive back Kiante Northington forced a fumble and Darryl Render recovered it with 24 seconds left. There was 4.4 seconds on the clock when Pearson caught a two yard slant and dove over the goal line for a 62-55 win.
The Pirates enter the game on a three game winning streak coming off a 53-34 win over the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks in a game where seven Massachusetts receivers caught passes and Brackett threw seven touchdown passes. Columbus defeated Carolina last weekend 57-55 as Quayvon Hicks ran for 60 yards and three scores and Jarmon Fortson added three TD receptions.
The Pirates are third in the NAL in scoring and points allowed, averaging 54.1 points per game on offense while yielding 44 a contest. The Lions rank second in the league scoring 55.8 a night and allow 45.9 a game, fourth best in the NAL.
The game will feature two of the league’s top quarterbacks in Brackett and Mason Espinosa. In 10 games Brackett has completed 184 of 311 attempts (59.2%) for 2,284 yards with 54 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. Espinosa is completing 67 percent of his passes (200 of 297) with 50 TD’s and three interceptions for 2,235 yards in nine games.
If you are looking for offensive production look no further than the Pirates Bones Bagaunte who leads the NAL with an average of 122.4 total offensive yards per game and the Lions Durron Neal, second at 115.1 per contest.
The NAL’s top rusher is Hicks who has 250 yards and ten touchdowns on 62 carries. The Pirates are hoping to slow him down with the addition of R.J. Roberts. In his first game as a Pirate Roberts posted three and a half sacks, a forced fumble and a blocked field goal against Lehigh Valley.
The receivers on both teams are among the leagues’ best in several categories. Devonn Brown of Massachusetts tops the NAL averaging 19.5 yards per catch and total receiving yards (791) while the Lions Fortson has the most receptions (64) and receptions per game (8.0).
Brown leads the Pirates with 17 touchdowns on with 41 receptions for 791 yards. Mardy Gilyard has 48 receptions for 455 yards and 12 scores, Lavon Pearson 47 catches, 587 yards and 14 TD’s and Bones Bagaunte 33 grabs for 332 yards and nine touchdowns. The Lions receivers are just as impressive. Fortson tops his team with 64 catches for 553 yards and 18 TD’s, Triston Purifoy has caught 60 balls for 739 yards and 11 scores and Durron Neal has compiled 47 receptions for 710 yards and 19 touchdowns.
