In only 3 months Craig changed into a new person inside out.. amazing!!!
Craig lost 37 lbs of fat, 15% body fat and reached his goal of getting rock hard 6 pack abs.
12 Week Transformation – Before and After PIx – Craig got shredded abs with Hitch Fit
My name is Craig Schumer and I’m 32 years old. You probably wouldn’t know it from my before pictures but I have lead a pretty active lifestyle. I played soccer growing up and the gym has always been a big part of my life. For the past couple years my workouts have been focused primarily on strength. I wanted to move as much weight as I could every time I was in the gym. Heavy weight with low reps and I incorporated very little cardio into my workouts. Over the last two year I’ve seen some significant strength gains. However, I wasn’t getting the visual results I wanted. I was lifting harder then I ever had and thought I was making decent diet choices. I chalked it up to the fact that my body had slowed down with age. My time had past and I accepted the fact that I wasn’t going to have the lean physique anymore.
My wife (who looked fantastic) was also active at the gym but wasn’t happy with the results she was getting. She had been asking me for help with her workouts for quite some time. Although I know how to workout and I’m comfortable at the gym, I’m no trainer. I began looking for a way to help her and heard about Micah and his Hitch Fit program through some friends and family. After a few conversations with Micah, I didn’t know if I believed that I could get the results he talked about, but I definitely wanted to believe him. My wife and I felt like it was time to make some changes and we wanted to get the results that Micah saw were possible.
A lot of people focus on the external benefits of living healthy and being fit. I’m not going to lie to you – I set out to make these changes to look better and now I walk a little slower when I pass a mirror and I definitely have the shirt off when I mow the yard but the way I look now is not the most significant of the benefits. There is no way to describe how pushing yourself, achieving your fitness goals and making healthy decisions will make you feel but it spills over into every part of your life. This experience has given my wife and I a shared passion that has brought us even closer and a new focus and energy to every part of our lives. We can’t thank Micah enough for seeing the possibility, inspiring us to make the change and giving us the tools to make us successful.
There is no magic pill to get results but there are a few things that I’ve learned through my transformation that have helped me.
Set specific goals, with a time frame and say it out loud – I was around 230 lbs. and over 20% body fat. When Micah told me that he thought I could get below 10% and see my abs in 12 weeks I laughed and thought others would laugh as well. It’s easy to think about a goal but it becomes real when you say it out loud. In my opinion, this is the hardest first step due to the fear of failure that we all have. We’re scared to tell people around us what our goals are because we might not accomplish them. The truth is, when you set a goal and say it out loud you begin to develop your own support group and put positive pressure on yourself to stay focused.
Push outside your comfort zone – Before this experience I would never have considered working with a personal trainer. It just wasn’t me. It sounds like common sense, but a lot of us don’t seem to realize that when you keep doing the same thing, you’re going to keep getting the same results. I know now that it sometimes takes someone else to see what is possible and it’s your personal trainers’ job to push you harder then you would on your own. When you train with a personal trainer you start to surprise yourself every time you go to the gym by doing one more rep, sprinting a little faster or running a little further then you did last week. I don’t mean to say that I will (or you should) work with a trainer the rest of my life. I’m at a point now where I feel like I push myself further every day and I’ve surrounded myself with positive pressure. However, I wouldn’t have gotten here with out Micah and I’m sure there will come a day that I get comfortable and need to be pushed again.
Write it down – Keep a journal that includes your workouts, cardio and your daily diet. I thought I had a decent diet. Micah encouraged me to keep a journal. What I learned was that there was a significant difference between how I thought I was feeding my body and what was actually occurring. Losing weight and getting lean is depriving yourself. A journal helps you to identify what you need and then hold yourself accountable
Put the scale away – By itself, your weight means absolutely nothing. A guy that weighs 200 pounds with 15% body fat is going to look completely different then a guy weighing 200 pounds with 5% body fat. Additionally, when I weigh myself first thing in the morning, eat a clean and healthy diet all day and then weigh myself before I go to bed, I typically gain 3 – 6 pounds. Our bodies weight changes all the time for a variety of reasons. If you’re constantly stepping on the scale you’re going to drive yourself crazy.

If you’re jealously eyeing free shipping offers and wondering how to use them too—without erasing your profit margin—you’ve come to the right place. Reducing shipping costs absolutely increases sales. These days, customers have come to expect to be able buy an item and have it arrive on their doorstep free of charge. Operators of ecommerce platforms are quickly learning the efficient shipping is key to running a successful online business.
Here’s what they figured out.
Shipping Reps Are Your New Best Friends
To paraphrase a line from gangster movies, “Only suckers pay retail.”Shipping costs are negotiable. After all, even doing business at a reduced rate, the more you ship, the more they make.
However, before calling on reps (always phone—email is ineffective at this), you’ll need to do some homework. Get a solid idea of the volume you anticipate each month, as well as where you tend to send things most often. You’ll also need to know the average size of your packages and what they typically weigh. Determine how quickly things should be shipped, your tracking and delivery confirmation requirements and insurance needs. If you’re doing business internationally, you’ll also want to be aware of tariffs and shipping taxes for each country into which you sell.
Many carriers have a plethora of secondary charges they impose, such as fuel surcharges, signature fees, Saturday delivery fees and the like. Be sure to take these into consideration during your negotiations.
Call around, get initial quotes from carriers, then play one against the others to get the lowest rate on the best service possible.
Use Shipping Company Packaging and Equipment
Shipping companies have already done the math on the packaging they provide to handle it in the most efficient manner. Thus, costs are lower. Many also provide computers, scales and software. Using their gear automates the creation of labels, packing slips, and barcodes. This streamlines the shipping process and helps prevent errors. Further, it saves you the expense of purchasing these things on your own.
Get Third-Party Insurance
In most cases, the insurance provided by carriers is considerably more expensive than coverage you can get from a shipping insurance provider.
Package Efficiently/Recycle
Experiment to find the smallest and lightest packages capable of keeping items safe in transit. Test-ship new products to yourself to make sure they arrive intact. Also, when you receive shipments, save those packing materials and reuse them, rather than buying new supplies all the time.
Outsource Your Shipping
Fulfillment services spread the fixed costs of shipping over a number of different customers. This can mean considerable savings for you, as they’ll provide labor for picking and packing. What’s more, because they do so much volume, they get significant discounts from carriers.
These four tips will help adjust your pricing to incorporate shipping costs. This will enable you to offer a free shipping option for customers willing to give you a bit more time to get the item in their hands. In this way, reducing shipping costs increases sales.
Another cost reduction measure is to leverage one of the ecommerce platforms offered by Yahoo Small Business. They can have your online store up and running in far less time than you can imagine—at minimal expense. Try it today!

PRACTICING SELF-LOVE: INSPIRATION FROM BPI ATHLETES
Happy Valentine’s Day! Across the nation, couples young and old are celebrating love. While it’s customary to shower your significant other with cards, candy and flowers, we wanted to remind everyone – in a relationship or not – how important it is to love yourself today, too.
What does self-love mean to you? How do you practice it? We asked our athletes for some insight into how they care for themselves and the answers are inspiring.
“Love and respect yourself.” — Sasha Brown My self-love mantra: If you can’t love and respect yourself, no one else will be able to make that happen. As a New Year’s resolution, instead of promising yourself to “get in shape,” make a promise to take care of your body and health! It’s much easier to love yourself when you are healthy. I get chiropractic care and a massage every month. Forgive yourself for your mistakes in the past. Sometimes because we are holding on to the past and what we did then, we start hating ourselves…. Just accept your mistakes, learn from that and move on!
What I have learned about self-love is it starts from YOU and only YOU. No one else can love you more than yourself. The minute you learn that you are the most important person in your life is the minute you will see your life blossom into something amazing. Be able to look into the mirror and be proud of the woman you have become. Go out and do something you love, like dancing, and buying yourself new gym clothes, or booking yourself a getaway trip you have always wanted to take. Be surrounded by positive and like-minded people. It will change your universe around and make you so happy. Always, ALWAYS remember everything happens for a reason, so don’t forget to put yourself first if you haven’t today.
“Have a positive mindset.” — Steven Cao Change the way you perceive negative situations. I always have a positive mindset and try to be optimistic with every situation, whether it be bad or good. When you have a positive and optimistic mindset you’ll always be in a happy, great mood and for your body that is very essential. I used to be stressed out all the time and overthink a lot of things so I started doing this and it helped a lot. Also, starting every day with a small goal to achieve. That keeps me thriving and motivated and I feel accomplished when I do reach that goal.
“Be grateful, acknowledge the small achievements & do something completely different.” — Tyrone Bell Take some time each week to reflect. Sure it isn’t going to be all good all the time, but even in the worst of weeks there will still be things to be grateful for. Identifying all the things that warrant being grateful for will actually help lower cortisol levels and in turn help lower stress levels. Acknowledge all the small achievements every day. It’s hard to do this when our to-do lists are always so full. It’s so easy to be working on one task and already thinking about what else has to be done. Slow down a fraction. Complete one task, acknowledge its completion, then move to the next and repeat. This ‘slowing down’ and acknowledging each task completion as small victories will make day-to-day tasks more rewarding, and result in a feeling of achievement instead of a feeling of exhaustion.
Also, do something completely different every now and then. I try and do something completely out of left field. Something completely non-gym/fitness related, purely for the experience. Going to see a foreign movie, trying food that I’ve never tasted before, spending time exploring a part of a city I haven’t visited before, etc. Regularly experiencing different things is a simple way to get out of your routine quickly – and seems to help reset me.

What Would You do if…? Moving Diversity and Inclusion from Concept to Action
By: Lenora Billings-harris
Imagine that you’re a police officer and the newest member of your department is a practicing Black Muslim. What biases, stereotypes or assumptions might come up for some in your department? What would you do to enhance your knowledge about this person? This scenario was a focus of discussion during a recent workshop series I had the privilege to deliver to the entire workforce of a municipality. The client specifically requested this scenario so that all workers, including police officers could explore realistic situations and then learn how to sustain an inclusive respectful work environment. To say the discussion was lively is an understatement.
Some biases are visceral. The messages we have received throughout our life impact our ability to rationally analyze the situation before us at any given moment. These messages and experiences from our own interactions as well as those of our parents, teachers, clergy, schoolmates, co-workers, the media and society in general form our emotional memories and biases, and then they abide in our unconscious waiting to spring up when "needed." Brain science indicates this occurs partly due to the function of our reptilian brain also known as the amygdala. This part of the brain controls life functions such as breathing, heart rate and the fight or flight mechanism. This function is needed so we can make fast decisions to get though the day, but it also requires us to sometimes question the messages so that we can examine whether or not a certain bias is applicable to the current situation. Daniel Kahnema refers to this as fast brain slow brain thinking. So even though the scenario above was just a vignette in a workshop, some participants were steadfast in their beliefs about this individual. Some of the assumptions voiced were "he might be a terrorist"; "he will expect us to stop our response to an emergency call so he can pray"; "he might not treat women in the workplace with respect"; all stereotypes that appeared valid on the surface. Initially, no one recognized that this person was a Black Muslim – a religion founded in the USA focused on the advancement of African Americans. When the word Muslim was seen, they did not see any modifiers. Once people shared and listened to each other, most realized these assumptions were biases and that they would need to get to know the individual. They recognized how fast they jumped to conclusions without considering that the hiring managers would have fully explored this person’s qualifications and background. They discovered how much they did not know about the person and how quickly all of us can learn one aspect of a person, and jump to our own stereotypes instead of pursuing the facts. The assignment required teams to identify what they might do to expand their knowledge about this person. Some suggestions were: • Learn about the Nation of Islam (Black Muslims) • Ask the person how he will pray five times a day and still meet his job requirements • Get to know more about him in general • Google him Ultimately, this scenario helped participants discover some of their conscious and unconscious biases, and then explore ways to use their "slow brain thinking" to determine the best actions needed. The focus of the exercise was not to determine whether the biases were valid. Each individual makes that determination personally and privately. The purpose was to create a realistic situation that would help people actually feel their thoughts and then explore them. So, what would you do? Not everyone wants to explore in this way, however, when a critical mass of employees recognize ways they can improve their workplace, the naysayers become outnumbered and discover that expressing stereotypical beliefs is no longer acceptable. Diversity and inclusion workshops that create a safe place for people to explore bias, including unconscious bias and then move to solutions they can apply in the workplace, affords organizations the opportunity to address issues and then develop opportunities that engage all employees and create a respectful work environment for all.
Let the Holy Spirit Take You from "Doing" to "Being"
I remember when I was a born-again Christian who was actively involved in church life, but I was not getting victory over my problems. I thought that if I acted like a Christian and looked like I had my act together, I would be happy. But doing the right thing wasn’t enough. I needed a change on the inside.
Acts 1:8 speaks of receiving God's power to be His witnesses. Notice it does not say to do witnessing but to be witnesses. Doing is a different thing than being. I had my outside polished up, but my inner life was a wreck. Quite often the inner turmoil exploded, and then everybody could see I wasn't quite what I appeared to be.
Thankfully, I came to the point where I was desperate for a move of God in my life and knew there had to be more than what I had experienced in my relationship with Him. As I cried out to Him in prayer for help, He touched my life in a powerful way, and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit gave me a real love for God and His Word like never before. Now, I was no longer faking it.
I encourage you to receive this same Holy Spirit power. Let Him take you from “doing” to “being.”
