Location, location, location… This factor is just as important on the Internet as it is in physical space. However, when you’re talking digital, the destination is more about the name than the place. If you want your company to be easy to find, choosing the right domain name is the ideal first step. Still, there’s bit more to it than that.
Let’s say you’re selling fruit slicers. If somebody is searching the ‘net for one, the probability of them entering the term “fruit slicer” into a search engine is very high. If your domain name is FruitSlicer.com, guess whose site is going rank highly on the search engine results page?
While going literal in that fashion might strike you as being corny, it’s better to be corny and found, than clever and obscure. Before you begin to conduct your domain search, make a list of all the keywords relevant to your endeavor and get one of them.
Think Intuitive, Pronounceable and Brandable
In addition to searchable, think simple. Avoid using hyphens, numbers or anything else capable of complicating its appearance in the minds of the public. Similarly, even though the likelihood of your clients saying your domain name aloud is miniscule, it should “sound good” when they think it. This makes it easier to remember and is more apt to engender positive feelings.
If you’ve worked hard to create a brand around your business, it makes sense to extend it into your domain name. Getting back to our fruit slicer example, if you want to be the Kleenex of fruit slicers, use that name in everything that has anything to do with your business. Eventually, when people think fruit slicers, they will envision your products because it’s intuitive.
Think Short and Intuitive
The best play here is to keep it short enough to be easy to remember and spell, but not so short it becomes unwieldy. FruitSlicer.com is perfect. It’s succinct, memorable and describes the business. Plus, it’s difficult to misspell, which means your traffic is more likely to remain your traffic, rather than being siphoned off by a usurper capitalizing on spelling errors. It also makes perfect sense for somebody looking for a fruit slicer to consider it, so it’s intuitive.
Think Beyond .Com
Yes, there are all sorts of wonderful new extensions out there now and they present some rather clever naming opportunities. The vast majority of the public is accustomed to .com. It’s the most often used and easiest to remember. Still, if a .com isn’t available, you can always find a .biz or a .me instead.
Think Trademarks
Before you fall madly in love with a domain name, run a search to ensure it doesn’t violate an existing trademark. And yes, it is entirely possible to register a trademarked name for your domain if the owner hasn’t done so. However, that won’t make it yours. You can be sued and forced to change it. To that end, once you have yours locked in—trademark it.
Conducting a web domain search with these tips in mind will help you come up with something readily searchable, brandable, memorable and most of all—yours alone.Get started by visiting Yahoo Small Business today!

The multi-sport athlete has many things to consider when preparing to compete and developing a weight training program. Each athlete needs a program that will maximize athleticism for the current sport they are playing. When evaluating what weightlifting program to use, ask the following questions: What energy system is needed the most for my current sport? How important is power, strength, speed and agility? How much recovery time will the athlete have between workouts and competition? And when scheduling your workouts what are the time demands of this sport?Remember, each program should be as specific as it can be to the sport currently being played.
Here are twelve benefits to weight training that relate directly to your in-season game:
Ideally, a program that incorporates most, if not all, of these benefits would best equip you for success in a variety of sports. A tailor made workout that meets the needs and demands of the sport you are currently playing should be employed for the duration of the season.
Two Killer Weight Training Strategies
For the purpose of this article, I recommend one of the two following strategies when setting up your weight training program. First, you can apply a general workout that uses 5 or 6 basic lifts to meet the power, strength, flexibility and stability needs that most sports require. Second, a workout that employs push-pull exercises, training the core and functional exercises that are specific to the sport you are currently playing. Also, this type of workout can create a variety of exercises so that boredom does not become an issue. Third, a rotation of the first two strategies; this will add diversity to your program and force your body to adapt to different training stimuli. This will produce tremendous results. Whichever strategy you choose make sure you are adequately overloading to the body part you are training.
The following list of what to add and what not to add to your workout will make it more efficient and productive regardless of the type of program you choose to follow. Your body will adapt to the specific training that you provide it so, be careful how you train because that is precisely how you will develop.
Weight Training Do’s
1. Perform Core Exercises. All sports require a strong and stable hip and torso area for absolute body strength and protection and are therefore, essential for all training programs. This area is known as the core, or foundation, of the body. Denying training to this part of your body, is neglecting the central part of where all of your sports movements originate. 2. Perform Push-Pull Lifts. – Lifts like the bench press, lat pull downs provide the push/pull effect. When performing one right after the other, or superset, greater amounts of work can be performed in a shorter period of time. 3. Perform Functional Exercises. Functional training exercises train your muscles to perform as they would on the field or court. These training movements mimic particular movements in sports and can have tremendous carryover to your sport. Make sure you don’t perform a sports skill with heavy overload, this will lead to faulty mechanics in your skill and can cause much more harm than good to your game. 4. Perform Strength and Power Exercises. Strength lifts such as the deadlift, bench press and squat and power lifts such as the push press and hang clean can provide the basics needed for all sports.
Weight Training Don’ts
1. Don’t Perform Plyometric Exercises In-Season. Keep plyometric exercises to a minimum if you are currently playing a sport that is dynamic in nature, such as football or basketball. The combination of these two will lead to excessive wear and tear on the body in the form of overtraining, decreased athletic performance and injuries. 2. Don’t Perform Single Joint Exercises. There are NO movements in sports that are limited to only one joint. Movements occur at multiple joints and in more than one plane. So, the benefits of performing multiple joint, compound body movements in your workout program will transfer more positively to the sport you are playing. 3. Don’t Use Exercise Machines. Machines isolate muscle groups and do not allow for other body parts to act synergistically. Stick to free weights, medicine balls, kettlebells, exercise bands, stability balls, body weight training etc., that simulate real life and recruit larger muscle groups.

The deadlift is one of the big three lifts, along with the bench press and the squat. The so-called “big three” are the three exercises anyone trying to build muscle needs to include in their workout regimen. Why? These three movements work several muscle groups at once, which makes them ideal for boosting overall strength and mass gains. This is particularly true for the deadlift. It requires use of the traps, lats, lower back, glutes, hamstrings, quads and calves.
In order to help you master this lift and get one more rep on your next set, we put together these tips and a training program.
TIP #1: USE THE PROPER FORM.
The deadlift is a difficult movement, so the potential for hurting yourself is substantial. Always practice your form with a low weight.
Position the barbell in front of you and arrange your hands in a shoulder-width grip. Place one hand on the bar with an overhand grip, the other with an underhand grip. Bend your knees and get the bar as close to you as possible to help keep your back straight.
To start the movement, push down through your heels and explode upwards with the bar until you’re standing up straight. Be sure to keep your back straight! At the top of the movement, roll your shoulders back and thrust your chest out to engage the upper back. Then slowly bend your knees, bend your waist forward to straighten out your back again, and set the weight down to complete the rep.
TIP #2: MAKE SURE YOU’RE HYDRATED.
Water is used to transport nutrients to the muscle cells and then remove waste products. It’s kind of like the lubrication for your muscles. Without water, your muscles are deprived of electrolytes, so they’re more likely to cramp. Plus, muscles are controlled by nerves, so without the proper water and electrolyte balance, muscle strength and control will be impaired. A mere 3% hydration level could reduce your strength by 19%!
TIP #3: DO ACCESSORY WORK.
The following exercises help strengthen some of the same muscles you need for the deadlift. Make sure to add them to your routine to help complement your efforts:
Seated good mornings
Pendlay rows
Romanian deadlift
Lower back extension
Do four sets of at least eight reps with a weight you could comfortably do 10-12 reps with.
TIP #4: TAKE ADVANTAGE OF A DE-LOAD WEEK.
That’s right. We’re actually telling you to take a week off from the gym. When you’re training specifically to add another rep, your body will need time to heal and prepare itself. Taking a week off to recover ensures that you’re in the best possible condition when it comes time to get that extra rep.
TRAINING PROGRAM
In order to use the following program, you first need to know your one rep max (1RM). Then, by training at a certain percentage of your 1RM, you are able to put a calculated amount of stress on a muscle over a certain period of time. This specificity will create the fastest rate of muscle growth, and therefore, strength. For help calculating your one rep max, click here and download the product brochure.
Before you even start your set, take a scoop of the all new One More Rep™ pre-workout. This evolutionary formula will help you feel energized and focused so you can dial in on the task at hand.
Good luck!

12 Key Issues Top Leaders Are Strategically Focusing On Today
By: Conrad Jones
12 Key Issues Top Leaders Are Strategically Focusing On In Today's Economic Climate What key important issues are other leaders strategically focusing on these days, in the midst of a volatile market? and Why is this question important to you? Simply because many of these leaders understand that it can give them a more rounded global perspective so they themselves can make better decision in these unstable economic times. Let's answer this question... In a recent corporate survey which included more than 1800 business leaders from around the world, it was found that many of these global leaders were paying attention to 12 key issues today. Let's take a look at each of them! 1. Competitive Pressure - (Global Leaders are focusing on the increasing task of becoming more efficient in delivering products and services to their customers, so they could become even more better than their business rivals in delivering the best solutions to their clients) 2. Economic Challenges - (Global Leaders are focusing on both the near and long term issues that plague their industries as they work to cope with soft economies world wide) 3. Growth and Expansion - (Global Leaders area focusing on developing their businesses to capture more customers, expand into more markets, and increase market share to become more profitable) 4. Innovation - (Global Leaders are moving to discover new ways of thinking about products, customers, services etc, and every system that affects their organizations) 5. Pricing Sensitivity - (Global Leaders are looking at their pricing models as it is even more important nowadays, to assess this in their target markets accurately, because missing it even by a small margin, can have enormous consequences on their bottom line) 6. Culture Change - (Global Leaders are focusing on how to change the basic values, beliefs, processes etc among their people to improve the performance of their organizations) 7. Skills Shortage - (Global Leaders are concerned about the skills gap in their organizations to get the right job done in these changing environments; this severely affects competitive advantage and has a damaging effect on the bottom line) 8. Changing Technology - (Global Leaders are working smarter to keep pace with the tools that can make serving their customers easier, faster & better) 9. Government Regulations - (Global Leaders are moving to keep pace with the changing requirements of governmental bodies within both local and international marketplaces) 10. Global Challenges - (Global Leaders are focusing on the changes that are affecting most markets which are creating both fresh opportunities and problems to surface) 11. Ethics and Social Responsibility - (Global Leaders are re-defining the way business is done and choosing to not only do things right, but do the right things) 12. Environmental - Green Adherence - (Global Leaders realize that it's everybody's job to protect the natural resources of the planet so that the next generations may also enjoy them it's about more than the money!) What all of this means to you? As a leader, if you want to gain a competitive advantage in today's marketplace, you can not afford to use the out-dated leadership development process which only focuses on developing just your business skills. Today, more and more leaders understand the need to develop their personal effectiveness skills, broaden their leadership perspectives by studying contemporary and classical leadership styles, and developing a global business perspective. Doing this, allows these leaders to gain a competitive advantage over one-dimensional leaders.
