iHealthTube Featuring: Better Options for Flu Prevention?

So much is made about the preparations for the beginning and during flu season? But is the most commonly prescribed option not the best? Dr. Felice Gersh - http://bit.ly/DrFeliceGersh offers some options and some reasons why you might want to think twice about that first choice and to look at other options! [Video and more below]

Flu Shots - There's A Better Way
By: Ron Sauciron
Influenza (the flu) is an extremely contagious viral infection of the upper respiratory tract.  The virus causes an acute infection of the nose, throat, lungs, middle ear, and bronchial tubes.  It is generally an illness of the winter season and is easily spread from person to person by coughing and sneezing.  The virus then enters the body through the eyes, nose, or mouth.  There are more than 200 strains of the virus which are constantly changing so flu shots have not been very effective.       Symptoms of the flu closely resemble the symptoms of the common cold.  They include fatigue, coughing, sneezing, headache, body aches, and fever.  Oftentimes when fever develops, you may feel extremely hot followed by a period of shivering cold.  You may also feel nauseous, weak, and lethargic.  The common cold only lasts for 7 to 10 days.  The flu can last up to 12 or more days followed by an additional week of recovery time.       If you are younger than age 65 with a healthy immune system, you may still contract the flu virus but it will not be life threatening.  But if you are over age 65 or have a depressed immune system, contracting the flu can be very serious.  Over 25,000 people die from flu related conditions every year.  People over age 65 often experience serious respiratory infections like pneumonia after coming down with the flu.  You fall into a high risk group if you have a weak immune system or if you have a heart or serious lung condition regardless of your age.      The best defense against the flu virus is to keep your immune system functioning at peak efficiency throughout the year.

Supplements for Immune Health:

1.     Vitamin A is a potent antioxidant that strengthens your immune system. Take 15,000 IU daily, 10,000 IU if you are pregnant.  2.     Beta-Carotene, 15,000 IU, should be taken with Vitamin A. 3.     Zinc lozenges should be taken as soon as flu symptoms appear. 4.     Vitamin C with bioflavonoids strengthens the immune system.  Take 5000mg to 20,000mg per day.  Excessive Vitamin C can cause diarrhea so start out slowly. 5.     Garlic supplementation has antiviral and antibacterial ingredients.  The Kyolic brand is a high quality brand, take 2 caps twice a day. 6.     Reishi Mushroom, 2 caps a day fights infection and enhances immune function. 7.     Vitamin B complex 100mg plus Selenium 200mg per day aids immunity and the body’s ability to combat infection. 8.     Olive Leaf extract promotes immune response and fights numerous types of infection including the flu virus.  Follow instructions on the container. 9.     Fenugreek has the ability to break-up phlegm and mucus.  Slippery Elm aids in their removal from the body.      Fever is your body’s defensive mechanism at work.  The flu virus cannot function well in warm temperatures so do not attempt to suppress a fever unless it rises above 102 degrees.  Do not take Zinc at the same time you consume citrus fruits or juices.  Citrus has a tendency to reduce the effectiveness of zinc.

Caution: Consuming alcoholic beverages, even in small amounts, and taking the painkiller acetaminophen (Tylenol, Datril etc.) has been associated with serious liver problems.
The Flu is basically a seasonal illness and strikes both men and women. There are other illnesses, however, that affect mostly women. I have written an ebook that addresses many of those illnesses. It's titled Health Springs Eternal, A Holistic Approach To Women's Health Issues.

The 27-year-old male berated the officer, threatened suicide by cop and continued to approach her when she asked him to back up. "She showed amazing restraint in the entire video. Officer Wendell Tolber is first to arrive and uses a taser on the suspect ending the confrontation. She is a superstar to say the least," said Officer Gutierrez's supervisor Lt. David Knight. The department blurred the faces of the suspect and the victim of the purse snatching because she chose not to pursue charges. The suspect was taken to receive mental health help. “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2).
What—or who—we focus on determines our direction in life. We must keep our eyes on Jesus, and not let ourselves get distracted by our mistakes or what we see going on around us.

Nothing to Be Afraid Of

Hebrews 13:5-6

Self-consciousness is a major problem in the Body of Christ today. It keeps us from doing the things God tells us to do. Instead of simply obeying Him, it makes us start to wonder, Now what will people think of me if I do that? What if I command that person to get out of the wheelchair and he doesn't get up? What if I start believing for prosperity and go broke? What about that, God? I won't look too good, will I?
If you've ever been through that, let me tell you something: It doesn't matter how you look! It's obeying God that counts. When it comes to obeying God, your own reputation doesn't count. And the sooner you forget it, the better off you'll be.
But you know what's ironic? Once you do that, your reputation gets better. It's a funny thing. When you lose that desire to protect your image, your image will improve. Why? Because then when people look at you, instead of seeing that puny little image you have of yourself, they'll see the image of the Lord Jesus coming through.
So put aside that old self-consciousness and develop God-consciousness instead. Stop being dominated by the fear of man and start being motivated by faith in what Jesus can do.
After all, He has promised He will never leave you or forsake you. Grab hold of that. Believe it. Act on it. Once you do, you'll realize there's really nothing to be afraid of anymore!

The primary purpose of the growth hormone is to restoration and repair of almost all body tissues, for instance, bones, muscles, cartilages alongside others. On the other hand, testosterone controls a number of your body functions, most commonly your libido, strength, muscle growth, and blood sugar. Resistance workouts are done while switching the number of reps, sets, and tempo trigger the release of the growth chemical in people of all age groups.

Cardio workouts quite a small number oy your body’s hormonal systems, most commonly, insulin and cortisol. Cardio sessions affect how your body responds to insulin, cutting down the risk of metabolic syndrome. Additionally, it helps in the mobilization of fat stores in the body to be used as fuel.

Even though weight training can help in shedding extra weight, cardio edges over through its capability of triggering that fat burn process instantly.
