Just Do It

Luke 13:14

Religion is dangerous. Religion would rather debate about healing than see somebody healed. Religion would rather argue about deliverance than see someone set free.
You can see an example of that in Luke 13. Jesus healed a woman who had been bowed over for 18 years. Think of it, a dear old woman—a daughter of Abraham Jesus called her—set free after being bound by the devil for nearly two decades. You'd think the temple rulers would have been rejoicing at what Jesus had done. But, no! They were angry because He'd done it on the wrong day.
Do you know what's worse? Those very same religious leaders who criticized Jesus for healing on the Sabbath could have ministered healing to that woman themselves on any of the other six days of the week if they'd cared enough to do it.
That's why Jesus was so indignant with them. They had the same covenant of Abraham that Jesus was ministering on. But their religion had kept that woman bound instead of setting her free. It always does.
Remember that next time someone tries to get you sidetracked into a religious debate about healing or deliverance. If someone needs to be delivered from a demon, just do it! Don't get all hung up on theological questions about where the demon is.
"Is it in his body? Or his brain? Or his spirit? Or his pocket?" While you're arguing about questions like that, the demon will be driving the poor guy up the wall.
The question isn't, "Where is the demon?" The question is, "Why haven't we gotten this man delivered? He's our blood brother in the Name of Jesus and he ought to be free!"
Once you start asking that question, you won't care whether that demon is inside or outside, hovering over or sitting under. All you'll care about is getting that person free!
That's the difference between religion and the love of God. Religion argues. Love acts. Choose love today.

The essentials taught here are critical to any serious volleyball athlete. This course teaches the skills and techniques I practiced daily as an NCAA All-American, an Olympian and international professional, and then taught my teams as a coach at Nebraska, as a club coach and with the Junior and Youth National Teams with USA Volleyball. The course covers wall setting, defense, footwork, serving, passing and walking progressions.

The videos are recorded inside a gym where I explain and demonstrate the basic fundamentals and proper technique to execute each skill correctly. I also show through a series of progressions how to advance from basic break down to a more practical practice drill. Throughout this course I show proper techniques and daily practice drills that you can do on your own at home, in a gym with someone else, or in a team practice. Strength Coach- 5-6-7-8-9 for Kids?

Michael Boyle -

5-6-7-8-9 for Kids?

One thing I love about training a broad spectrum of clients and athletes is that I'm always learning.
Just when you think you have all the answers, you realize there are more questions.
One thing that has always been perplexing is how to move kids up in weight while maintaining good technique and avoiding plateaus.
One point I've made consistently over the years is that it's not as simple as the old idea of progressive resistance exercise.
In a collegiate environment you can just throw 5 lbs more on the bar and go for it. It's pretty simple. Five pounds a week can really add up for a college athlete.
But, what do you do with a kid who is bench pressing 45 pounds for 5 reps? Adding 5 lbs here (just a 2.5 on each side) increases the load by about 12% and, really causes a problem.
One solution we've used with good success is 1 ¼ lb Olympic plates. I learned this idea of small increases years ago from writers like Stuart McRobert and, this concept has been really effective.
5-6-7-8-9 For Kids
The 1 ¼ idea is effective but, not foolproof. In training my middle school group I was still experiencing plateaus even with using 1 ¼ lb plates and, was running into issues as dumbbells and kettlebells got larger.
Recently, I found another solution. I know it sounds simple but, instead of increasing weight, we increased reps.
Once one of my “kids” begins to hit a bit of a wall we switch from increasing weight to increasing reps.

Is Your Overweight Teen Crying Out For Your Help?
By: Richard Lipman Md

A recent substantial investigation exposed that carrying excess fat is an incredibly difficult issue for moms and dads to discuss with their teens. Excess weight has come to be such an psychologically charged and persistent subject, particularly in a lifestyle which is extremely image-driven. Talking about this topic can be very overwhelming for mothers and fathers, particularly considering that mothers and fathers themselves may possibly be having difficulties with their weight.

One in 20 moms and dads of adolescents said that they're having difficulties with their teens with drugs, alcohol and cigarette smoking. However, more than 25% of mothers and fathers are hesitant to approach their youngsters about their over-eating and weight gain. The study even advised that numerous parents of youngsters ages 8 to 18 are keeping away from the subject of excess fat when ever they are able to. Furthermore, more than one in five mothers and fathers admit they have never pointed out the topic of maintaining a healthy weight to their youngsters despite realizing that remaining over weight presents health and fitness danger to their children.

About 90 percentage of health care authorities asserted that maintaining a healthy weight is the most essential health topic that parents should discuss with their children. One in five mothers and fathers said that the health care provider really should be in charge in talking about the risks of becoming overweight. Given these details, the initial step for parents of overeating youngsters and young adults is to begin listening to their youngsters.

What often slips from kid’s and teen’s mouths in many cases are vital signs as to how they really feel and more precisely what they will need from their mothers and fathers. Recent polls have pr oven that 70% or maybe more of heavy kids and teens are hesitant to discuss with their dad and mom regarding their weight. Indeed, being over weight has been referred to as a disease of loneliness-loneliness from friends and mothers and fathers. Here are many of the things they are saying and what you as a thoughtful parent must take note for:

1. His medical professional tells you so.
2. Your kids gripes about being teased about her/his shape.
3. Your son or daughter clothing appear to get too small too quickly.
4. Looking for outfits with your youngster is a nightmare.
5. The child will not be seen in a bathing suit.
6. Your child’s relationships are suddenly changing.
7. Your youngster withdraws from activities he/she formerly liked.
8. You locate your self speaking about him/her even as "big-boned" or "large."
9. You notice your kids huffing and puffing after a very simple job such as
ascending stairs.
10. You keep telling your child or teenager to avoid eating?
11. You eight or 12 year old would like to order from the restaurant adult menus
12. Your youngster says to you she/he believes she/he is actually over-weight.

Parents need to watch and listen whenever they discover these hints. Youngsters who begin observing their meals and begin exercising without parent instructions possess the greatest and most successful long term outcomes. What they need from mothers and fathers is a soft voice and a great deal of encouragement
