General Law Enforcement Training, Educational Requirements and Job Description
By: Ryan Sprout
The general requirements in order to become a law enforcement officer are to *Obtain a POST ID (Peace officer Standards and Training ID) *Attend a training academy for law enforcement *Take necessary certification tests and become certified as a peace or law enforcement officer The amount of education you need to become a law enforcement officer varies as the career themselves. Some college experience is enough in becoming a police officer, while a undergraduate bachelors degree is necessary to pursue a career as an FBI, DEA, ATF or Border patrol agent. Many agencies and departments urge their employees to pursue a degree in criminal justice or obtain a post high school education. Courses in criminal justice include but are not limited to criminal justice, humanities, ethics, police organization, administration, leadership development, analytic reasoning, and communications. It's very important to keep in mind that it's important to complete and get your high school diploma. If not, continue forward in your education by getting your GED. You can do so by your local adult education center. None the less, it's always better to acquire some years or a four year college education.

The most attractive elements about working as an officer and in the criminal justice field are the routine and scheduling. The possibilities are almost endless with a career in criminal justice and enforcement of laws. A typical day for someone who works in different fields of law enforcement varies depending on the career path you pursue. Generally an enforcement officer may work in the office cubicle of the agency or more exciting in the field. An officer may encounter things differently everyday from keeping a watchful eye on citizens during a political convention, tapping into a phone call of a fugitive or pretending to be a young girl online to lure a pedophile into a sting operation arrest, assisting with a riot or preventing a terrorist crime from happening.

The qualities officers must have are common sense, respect and sense for and of their community, intelligence, mindful of their environment, the courage to make smart decisions when necessary and when to hold back and stay calm, be educated, stay grounded and be realistic about the career field they are in. For those inspired to pursue a career in criminal justice enforcement; the financial and job security are well in place. More importantly, the kickback and personal reward of helping people, saving lives, and keeping the community safe when stressful or dangerous situations arise. For those inspired to pursue a career in the United States law enforcement task force, the financial and job security are well in place. More importantly, the kickback and personal reward of helping people, saving lives and keeping the community safe.

You Hold the Keys

Psalm 18:37-38

If you've been standing around wringing your hands and worrying about what the devil is doing, it's time you made a switch. It's time you put that devil under your feet!
Jesus has already given you all the power and authority you need to do it. He's given you the keys of the kingdom. He's promised you that whatever you declare locked on earth is locked in heaven and whatever you declare unlocked on earth is unlocked in the heavenlies (Matthew 16:19). That means you can speak the Word and bind wicked spirits. You can speak the Word and loose the angelic forces of God to work in your behalf.
What's more, you've been given the power of attorney that enables you to use the mighty Name of Jesus. A Name that's above every other name. A Name which will cause every knee to bow—in heaven, in earth, and under the earth (Philippians 2:9-10)!
So, don't waste time worrying about the devil. Take authority over him. Bind the evil spirits that try to destroy your home, your church and your nation. Loose God's Word in the earth and enforce it with the Name of Jesus.
You hold the keys. Learn to use them and before long the devil will be wringing his hands worrying about you!

CoachTube Presents This Bowie State Hoops Update: Mens' and Womens' Recaps Vs VA Union

Virginia Union Shows Toughness in 75-72 Win Over Bowie State's Bulldogs

BOWIE, Md. - The Virginia Union Panthers played tougher than host Bowie State on Wednesday night, edging the Bulldogs 75-72 in a key CIAA Northern Division clash. The loss snapped Bowie State’s six-game winning streak and sets the Bulldogs season mark at 11-9, 7-2 in league play and 1-1 in the North.

Junior Cameron Hayes paced the Bulldogs with 26 points (21 in the first half) and fellow junior Juwan Smith came off the bench to chip in 17. Junior Saiquan Jamison hauled down a team-high 13 rebounds while junior Yohance Fleming pulled down a half dozen rebounds.

“Union was just the tougher team tonight” said Bowie State Head Coach Darrell Brooks following the contest. “They beat us up on the glass, we didn’t do a good enough job defending (Terrell) Leach or (Will) Jenkins and that tells the story of the game.”

Leach and Jenkins torched the Bulldogs defense with 30 and 25 points respectively on a combined 21-of-42 shooting from the field. Jenkins led all rebounders with 15 and the Panthers outrebounded the Bulldogs 39-30.

Bowie State trailed early in the game but gained its first lead at the 16:39 mark after a triple by junior Rinardo Perry. With the scored tied at 12-all with 12 minutes left in the opening half, the Bulldogs used an 11-2 run, thanks to a pair of 3-pointers by Hayes and 3-pointer by Smith, giving the Bulldogs a 23-17 advantage.

The Bulldogs maintained the advantage until VUU’s Leached capped off a 23-16 run via a 3-pointer to regain the lead at 40-39. However, back-to-back 3-pointers by BSU sophomore Keith Duffin, Jr. and Hayes was enough to shift the lead back over to Bowie State at 45-42 going into halftime.

Virginia Union (10-8, 6-2, 1-1) trailed by a half dozen (50-44) early in the second half before answering with a 10-3 burst to what would eventually be the lead for good. Another Leach triple put the Panthers in front 54-53. The Panthers extended its lead to six (61-55) by the 9:54 mark of the second half.

Bowie State was able to close the gap to one twice over the next seven minutes with the last coming with 27 seconds to go and the Bulldogs trailing 73-70. Hayes was fouled on a 3-point attempt by Virginia Union’s Raemaad Wright, made the first two of three but missed the third that would have tied the game.

The Bulldogs knocked down 11-of-18 (61 percent) 3-point field goals on 22-of-48 overall shooting from the field and made 17-of-24 free throws (71 percent).

Bowie State will look to get back on the winning track on Saturday (January 26) when the Bulldogs travel to Murfreesboro, N.C. to tangle with the Chowan Hawks at 4 p.m.

Bulldogs Suffer 52-51 Heartbreaking Loss to Nationally Ranked Virginia Union

BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie State University women’s basketball team suffered a heartbreaking 52-51 division loss to nationally ranked Virginia Union University in the A.C. Jordan Arena on Wednesday evening.
Junior forward Kyaja Williams had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds but that wasn’t enough, setting the Bulldogs record at 15-3 overall, 7-2 in league and 0-2 within the division. Freshman guard Drew Calhoun added 11 points and junior Dynaisha Christian ripped down a game-high 12 rebounds.
Bowie State started the game on a 7-0 run before a Shareka McNeill jumper stopped the bleeding at 8:21 in the first period. The Bulldogs would go on another 7-0 run which was capped off by 3-pointer by sophomore Talanya Hutton, that led to a 14-11 home team after one quarter of play.
A pair of Williams’ free throws commenced Bowie State’s second period to extend the lead to 16-11. The third-year forward then converted a layup after a steal with 7:41 remaining in the second period.
The Panthers would later claw their way back after Nicole Floyd’s two jump shots cut the lead to 20-16. Bianca Lockamy’s corner three gave Virginia Union its first lead in the game at 21-20 with 4:09 left in the first half.
The lead would change hands twice before the Bulldogs were able to take a 25-24 lead into halftime.
The Bulldogs increased its lead to four mid-way through the third period before VUU’s Rejoice Spivey’s layup cut it back down 34-31 with 3:51 to go in the period. The Panthers hung around all game because of Bowie State’s inability to hit clutch free throws when it counted the most (15-of-22, 68.2 percent). Junior Amel Duggins’ 3-pointer gave the home team some breathing room at 36-33 before Spivey and McNeill answered with a layup and jumper to cut the lead Bowie State lead to 39-38 heading into the final period.
An Ifunanya Okoye jumper gave the Panthers the lead at 40-39 to begin the fourth period before Bowie State redshirt senior Pere Alexander’s layup gave the lead back to the Bulldogs. Virginia Union built its biggest lead in the game at 50-44 when Okoye converted on a layup at the 4:04 mark.
Bowie State’s Calhoun drilled a huge 3-pointer that tied the game at 50-all with 1:28 remaining. Bowie State had a shot to secure the win but Christian and junior Shawnkia McCallum missed crucial free throws down the stretch.
With Bowie State leading 51-50 with 20 seconds remaining, Virginia Union called timeout that led to Shareka McNeill’s game winning floater with 9 seconds to go in the contest.
Rejoice Spivey led all scorers with 16 points and grabbed six rebounds as Virginia Union improves to 16-1, 8-1 in the CIAA and 2-0 in the North. McNeill scored 11 points for the Lady Panthers and Floyd rounded out Virginia Union’s double figure scorers with 10.
The Bulldogs head south for its next contest, traveling to Murfreesboro, N.C. to take on the Chowan Hawks on Saturday (January 26) at 2 p.m. in CU’s Helms Center.

According to a press release on Thursday, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and FPD both conducted an investigation after Officer Thomas Herman was involved in a shooting on July 14, 2018. The release says the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Solicitor has completed a review of the officer-involved shooting which occurred at 2671 Hospitality Blvd., and has cleared the officer involved. The incident happened at 12:22 p.m. when officers were dispatched to the Hilton Garden Inn on Hospitality Boulevard regarding a person who was waving around a gun. Herman was the first officer on scene and made contact with the person who called for assistance. While Officer Herman was speaking with this person, Jethro Benjamin appeared on scene with a handgun. It is said in the release that Herman told Benjamin to get on the ground and Benjamin hid behind a vehicle. Benjamin then fired at Herman and Herman returned fire as he sought cover, according to police. “A brief volley of gunfire” was exchanged and Benjamin was wounded. Herman and two other responding officers secured the scene and positioned Benjamin on his side to aid in his breathing until an ambulance arrived.

“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).
We don’t have to rely on the strength of our own faith. At our weakest moments, we can lean on the faith of Jesus Christ, Himself.

Hillsong Church Featuring: Brian Houston and Do Your Own Praying

Join us for live worship and an inspiring message from Brian Houston in our morning service from the Hills Campus, Sydney, Australia. SONG LIST Wonder: http://hil.so/wndr Valentine: http://hil.so/timy Whole Heart (Hold Me Now) Good Grace

Do Your Own Praying

James 5:13, The Amplified Bible

The Greek word translated afflicted doesn't mean the result of sickness and disease. It means "troubled."
If you're in trouble, you need to pray. That's what the Word says. Notice it didn't say your pastor needs to pray for you or your friends need to pray for you. It says you need to pray.
Too often we try to find a quick fix to our problems by asking everyone else to pray for us. There's nothing wrong, of course, with having others pray for you, but you'll never get your life to a place of permanent victory until you begin to pray yourself.
The biggest church in the world is in Seoul, Korea. It's pastored by Dr. David Cho, and the last I heard, it had more than 700,000 members. How did that church grow to be so large? According to Dr. Cho, the key is prayer. Not just his prayers but the prayers of his people. Praying is a way of life in that church. They have a place called Prayer Mountain where thousands of people come every day to pray.
I once heard Dr. Cho's mother-in-law on television talking about the emphasis they put on prayer. She said that when their church members are in trouble, when they have marriage problems or problems in their personal lives, before anything else is done, those church members are told to go and fast and pray for 24 hours.
We need to do more of that here in our churches in the United States. We need to quit training our people to run around asking others to pray for them and train them instead to do their own praying.
You see, if I pray for God to solve one problem for you, you may enjoy success for a while, but then another problem will come along because you'll still be making the same old mistakes that got you in trouble the first time. But if you buckle down and do that praying for yourself, if you discipline yourself to start searching out the things of the Spirit, you'll get permanent answers. You'll learn how to make adjustments in your life that will keep those problems from cropping up again.
If you have made Jesus your Lord, you have access to the throne of Almighty God. He has every solution to every problem you'll ever have, and He's just waiting for you to come to Him, so He can give you the answer. It may take some private time alone with Him for you to hear it, but He will never disappoint you.
Don't depend on others to do your praying for you. Go personally to the throne of God today.
