Lean Trim Diana Here!

Let's start out the week with some information I googled regarding Obesity.

Our Weight Loss  beverages are helping people all over the world fight those extra unhealthy pounds. If you want more information, eave a comment on how to contact you.
Why are we obese?

  • Physical activities - we are all too stationary and need more physical activities
  • Genetics - a strong component, but doesn’t completely predetermined because of our genes
  • Junk foods, we eat too many processed foods
  • Food Addiction - These highly engineered junk foods cause powerful stimulation of the reward centers in our brains
  • Aggressive marketing companies aggressively marketing unhealthy products as healthy foods
  • Insulin regulates energy storage among other things. Insulin tells fat cells to store fat and hold onto fat that you already have. Best way to lower insulin is to cut back on carbs.
  • Certain Medications - weight gain as a side effect
  • Leptin -  hormone crucial in obesity. Leptin produced by fat cells and sends signals to hyprothalamus we are full and to stop eating. We have lots of fat and leptin, but problem is that leptin isn’t working like it should, for some reason the brain becomes resistant to leptin.
  • Sugar -  is the single worst part of the modern diet. Excess sugar changes hormones and biochemistry of body contributing to weight gain. Excess fructose causes insulin resistance and elevates levels causing leptin resistance.
How prevalent is obesity in the US?
According to data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), 2013–2014
More than 1 in 3 adults were considered to be overweight.
More than 2 in 3 adults were considered to be overweight or have obesity.
More than 1 in 3 adults were considered to have obesity.
About 1 in 13 adults were considered to have extreme obesity.
About 1 in 6 children and adolescents ages 2 to 19 were considered to have obesity.
And as you can see, obesity is increasing every year.
What is the percentage of obesity in America 2016?
"The age-adjusted prevalence of obesity in 2013-2014 was 35 percent among men and 40.4 percent among women," they wrote in their report, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. More than 5 percent of men and nearly 10 percent of women were morbidly obese, with a BMI of 40 or more. Jun 7, 2016

Yahoo Business Advisor-This CEO Developed a Cadence to Profiting with Tech Startups

BY ADRIENNE BURKE | SMALL BUSINESS

image

You don’t need to spend more than a few minutes speaking with Yonatan Stern to know that he’s not your usual tech company leader. A computer scientist and serial entrepreneur based in Israel, he presides as CEO and chief scientist over the B2B contact and account information company ZoomInfo, headquartered in Waltham, Mass. In the 30 years since completing military service in Israel and graduating from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, he has built several companies based on his computing smarts. And he approaches entrepreneurship with the mind of a scientist.
CardScan, a technology company that digitizes business cards, and Bizo, a business data management company, are among startup successes that led him to adopt a business philosophy that puts profits first and avoids risk.
He says his approach is contrary to many tech startup founders who are pressured by “venture capitalists to grow fast and spend as much money as possible.” But to him, putting profits first is common sense. In fact, he says, when he started his second business, CardScan, he set out to make it profitable as fast as possible. When he succeeded (this story tells how), he spun off ZoomInfo, which also became profitable, and Bizo. “We did all of that without ever raising money, and we sold Bizo to LinkedIn in 2014 for a nice amount,” he says.
Stern says the focus has served his businesses well. “When you go out to raise money, you think about how to sell the company to investors. But when you set out to be profitable, you think about what your customers are willing to pay money for,” he says. “You quickly realize what is worth doing or not because they are willing to pay for it.”
Striving for profitability also forces a CEO to evaluate every expenditure, he says. If he expected to make $3 million in a year, for instance, he would limit his spending to well less than that, and spend only on things that could enable him to make $6 million the following year. “It forces you to look at reality, to ask, ‘What is it that I need to do for customers?’ and 'What should we invest in to continue to grow?’"
Look for the optimal outcome before dedicating any resources, he advises. "It’s simple things, like not spending on advertising when you’re not ready to sell. It’s not genius, but it’s very difficult to keep that discipline on an ongoing basis.” Of every initiative, Stern says he asks, “What are we trying to accomplish? How can we do it better?”
He also asks employees to evaluate new ideas against two criteria. “First, if you are successful in what you do, what impact will it have on the company? Many times the answer is, if we are successful we will make another $500 in sales.” He says 80 percent of ideas die right there. He’d rather hear: “If we do this, we will open up a $10 billion market.”

Second, he asks, “If you fail, will it ruin the company?” He prefers ideas with big returns and low risks. “Posing these two opposite questions keeps people experimenting all the time.”
He uses body language to demonstrate that the key to sustainable growth is to walk, not leap. “I show people in company meetings how I walk—one foot forward at a time. It’s the same with a company. You can’t move everything forward at once. There’s a cadence to how you run a company if you want to be profitable.”
His approach to building a company, in fact, could be compared to the way an engineer develops a piece of software: “Make incremental improvements, and keep fine-tuning everything you do. You can jump, but it would just waste money. Iterate until you get it done correctly,” he says.
“Take a deep breath and I can assure you that you will find ways to do it better, faster, or cheaper. That’s the kind of thinking you have to have to grow at the pace at which it is rational to grow.”

Best and Safest Strength Training for Young Athletes
By: Ron Stratten, M.S.

Growing young talent is a delicate and risky challenge. Strength training for young athletes must be approached with caution. Parents often push their children who play on sports-specific travel squads toward weight training or, for some, personal trainers. But, what works best and what method is safest? Because the legs are the foundation for almost every outstanding performance, the focus should be on building leg strength, speed, agility and coordination in a youngster whose muscles and body are still developing.

Unfortunately, there has been no one approach that has proven effective and safe. For many years young athletes have looked for a simple way to build leg strength and speed by using ankle weights, resistance bands or weighted vests and time spent in the weight room with barbells and dumbbells. These solutions are cumbersome and often harmful.

A popular misconception has been that more is better. Adding more weight means more strength, more repetitions mean more speed. But more can mean problems for young bodies. Young athletes are developing at different rates and must be dealt with individually. Light to moderate weighted insoles can be an excellent answer for building young athletes' lower body strength, speed and coordination. The weight can increase as the athlete's body matures. Moreover, placing the weight below the body's weight prevents the harmful injuries caused by carrying it above young joints and allows the athlete to maintain a normal stride. Whether the athlete is playing football, volleyball, basketball, or soccer, or participating in track and field, speed, agility and the same overall athleticism are the qualities young athletes and their parents are seeking.

Weighted insoles allow the young athlete to play a specific sport while using them, unlike ankle weights resistance bands or weighted vests, which must be removed during practice or competition. In other words, you can take the weight room to the field or court!

Weighted insoles can be safer than other weight training approaches for young legs. Look for insoles that are light enough to accommodate younger athletes eleven or twelve years and up. Six ounces seem to work well with undeveloped beginners. As the young athlete practices and develops more skills and as the body matures, he or she can move up to the eight-ounce insole. Many companies recommend heavier weight to build strength faster. Unfortunately, maintaining a normal stride length (important for safe training) with more weight can be difficult. A well planned workout with age-appropriate weights is a good basis for strength training, just don’t go overboard!

Look also, for a tool that can stabilize the heel and ankle area. Early shoe choices are very important to parents wishing to insure the healthy participation of their child in the sport of their choice. The shoe companies oftentimes put their emphasis on the upper part of the shoe and neglect the part of shoe that has the most direct contact with the athlete: the shoe's liner or insole. Choose a weighted insole that is comfortable and focuses on foot and ankle safety by stabilizing the heel with a deep heel cup. The deep heel cup prevents the foot from sliding inside the shoe, which creates an unstable foundation for the athlete.

There is no quick and easy way to develop strength. Weighted insoles can make the journey safer, more convenient and more comfortable. Carrying a small amount of weight with every step can make a positive difference with each workout. They can be used in your favorite cross trainers, walking shoes or running shoes. Weighted insoles provide a training edge for any athlete who is striving to reach the next level safely!

Ronald Stratten is the Manager /Owner of StrataSoles Enterprises, LLC, and has served as NCAA Vice President for Education Services and former Portland State University Head Football Coach.  StrataSoles Enterprises, LLC, is featuring the introduction of its weighted-insole system, The StrataSoles™ Training System.

Jeff Genyk, one of the nation’s most respected special teams instructors and a former collegiate head coach, enters his first year on the Commodore staff. Genyk will serve as Vanderbilt’s special teams coordinator and running backs coach.
“I’m very pleased to announce the addition of Jeff Genyk to our Vanderbilt staff,” Mason said. “Jeff is recognized as one of the nation’s leading coordinators of special teams and an outstanding offensive coach. He brings a great deal of knowledge and expertise to our staff. Jeff has enjoyed plenty of success coaching special teams and offense, and I look forward to that continuing here in Nashville.”
In 2015, Genyk rekindled a working relationship with Northwestern University, serving as a consultant to Head Coach Pat Fitzgerald on special teams, offense and game management. The Wildcats matched their highest win total in the last decade, going 10-3 and playing in the Outback Bowl.
In 2013-14, Genyk coordinated special teams and worked with tight ends at the University of Wisconsin. During the two years at Wisconsin, he worked with Vanderbilt offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig under Badger Head Coach Gary Andersen.
The Badgers had plenty of successes, including capturing the 2014 Big Ten West title, beating Auburn in the 2014 Outback Bowl and playing in the 2013 Citrus Bowl. Genyk mentored All-Big Ten tight end Jacob Pedersen, recruited and coached Big Ten All-Freshman kicker Rafael Gaglianone, and oversaw significant improvement in virtually every area of special teams.
Before joining Wisconsin, Genyk held similar positions at University of California under Head Coach Jeff Tedford.
While in Berkeley, Genyk led dramatic improvement with the Cal special teams units, including back-to-back first-team All-Pac 12 selections in kicker Giorgio Tavecchio and punter Bryan Anger, who became a Ray Guy semifinalist and a third round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Anger is now a four-year veteran with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Genyk also coached current Green Bay Packers’ tight end Richard Rodgers at Cal.
Genyk served as the head coach at Eastern Michigan from 2004-08. He coached the Eagles to their best conference finish in seven years in 2004 with a third-place showing in the West Division of the Mid-American Athletic Conference.
While at Eastern Michigan he coached three All-Americans in linebacker Daniel Holtzclaw, defensive end Jason Jones and placekicker Andrew Wellock. Jones was a second-round selection of Tennessee in the 2008 NFL Draft who just completed his eighth professional season. Wellock was a finalist for the 2004 Lou Groza Award given annually to the nation's top placekicker. He also coached offensive tackle T.J. Lang, who was selected by Green Bay in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft and continues as a standout on the Packers’ offensive front.
After his tenure at Eastern Michigan, Genyk spent one season at ESPN, serving as a color analyst for Atlantic Coast Conference games.
From 1994-2003, Genyk worked at Northwestern, with responsibility for the special teams unit during each of his final five campaigns with the Wildcats. He was also the running backs coach and recruiting coordinator for five seasons (1999-2003) after having worked with the safeties in 1998 and the outside linebackers in 1997. During his first five campaigns, he was the school's Director of Football Operations from 1994-96 and a defensive graduate assistant from 1992-93.
Genyk was on the Northwestern football staff for three Big Ten championship teams and four bowl appearances. The 1995, 1996 and 2000 teams all won Big Ten titles. The 1995 squad played in the Rose Bowl, the 1996 team was in the CompUSA Florida Citrus Bowl and the 2000 club played in the Alamo Bowl. The 2003 squad participated in the Motor City Bowl.
At Northwestern, Genyk mentored Fitzgerald as an All-America linebacker and defensive player of the year. He coached several other standouts at Northwestern, including linebacker and eventual first-round NFL pick Napoleon Harris and running back and Heisman Trophy finalist Damien Anderson.
A native of Milan, Mich., Genyk was a quarterback and punter at Bowling Green State (Ohio) University from 1978-81. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Bowling Green in 1982. He later earned a Master’s of Business Administration and Marketing from Western Michigan University in 1989 and a Master’s of Education and Social Policy from Northwestern in 1994.

Reality Training: Vital Principles of Foot Pursuits BC and 30 Lifesaving Tools Every Law Enforcement Officer Should Have

[Video below]-Dave Smith breaks down body cam footage from Evansville, Ind. that highlights the importance of not allowing the suspect to predict your movements.

30 Lifesaving Tools Every Law Enforcement Officer Should Have

By: Ryan Sprout

The gear and equipment for a law enforcement officer varies from state to state. Some items are restricted in some states. These are recommended for different emergency situations and the agency the officer is working in. These are some necessary tools a law enforcement officer should have equipped, on hand, in his vehicle, his office or at home. Clothes are an essential part to keeping a person warm cool and agile on the job. Especially when it comes to different terrain and weather a law enforcement officer is stationed in. It may vary from states to state from warm summers cold wet winters and cool autumns or raining states seasons.
1. Boots - Having a good pair of boots is more than ideal. It's important to keep in mind that the type of boot you choose will vary from what type of law enforcement job you do. If you are working in security or as a body guard, you may not need steel toe tactical boots - so go with comfortable, long lasting and waterproof Timberland boots. In other law enforcement fields, you have to be agile and quick on your feet. You may even need to kick down doors if you have to make a forced entry, defend yourself or chase down a suspects - so it's absolutely crucial that you invest in a good fitting comfortable pair of Tactical Boots.
2. Tactical Jackets - On cold winter days and nights, you need to stay warm and without the extra weight to slow you down in case a situation arises. Tactical Jackets work by trapping heat inside the chambers on the fleece or winter jacket. There are multiple internal storage pockets to securely store necessary law enforcement items such as radio, pepper spray, handcuffs, taser, or other non-lethal equipment. 3. Law Enforcement Belt - A traditional brown or black leather belt is just not sufficient for the job when it comes to law enforcement. You want a modular belt that can hold the essential gear for protecting yourself, fellow citizens and your co-officers. These heavy-duty belts have many slots and pouches to keep your gloves, cell phone, keys, pepper spray, radio, walkie-talkie, handcuffs, baton and holsters for your pistol. This is a crucial item to law enforcement gear since it has a quick-release button to retrieve any necessary item required at the time of the emergency. Stay ahead of the crowd and protect yourself so you can protect citizens by getting a law enforcement belt.
4. Tactical Gloves - To get mileage and distance for your hands, you need some protective hand gloves. In a situation where you may need to fire a weapon, having lightweight, flexible and durable gloves to keep your hands cool, dry and light may be a lifesaver to yourself and an innocent victim. This must have item in tactical gear has special built-in material that keeps moisture out of the gloves and outer coating that will give your hands a better grip on your baton or pistol.
5. Tactical Vests - During any part of time on your job, you may need to quickly un-snap a pocket or sleeve to quickly release a magazine to reload your pistol and take out your maglite or flashlight to see better in the dark. A tactical vest is an excellent piece of gear for close quarter operations and has the pouches and straps to quickly draw your holster.
6. Sunglasses - If you are going to patrol the streets on foot, in your patrol car, on horseback or bicycle, you need to have eye protective gear. Oakley sunglasses are made for world-class athletes and law enforcement officers to not limit their sight in any way. These sunglasses have interchangeable lenses, iridium coatings, and plutonite lenses that filter 100% of UV damaging rays from the sun along with high impact resistant lenses. Don't go for fake sunglasses, your eyes are your camera to see the world - protect them and your fellow citizens at all costs.
7. Digital Camera - What if there's been a car accident, proof of a domestic violence case where there's blood on a gun, knife or blunt weapon? You want a small digital camera that can fit in your pocket, tactical belt or tactical vest. A digital photo from your camera or video captured on your device may solve a mystery case, track a serial killer's next move or side with an automobile accident driver in court.
8. Maglites and Tactical Flashlights - Having a flashlight is like having another set of eyes with you. Especially if you meet scenarios or suspects in the dark, you need a flashout to plan your escape or capture plan. With a tactical flashlight, it is more lightweight and small to easily conceal in your pocket, nodular belt or vest. A maglite has more useful uses such as striking in self-defense with its solid heavy duty, or temporarily blind the person you are trying to arrest with its high intensity and illuminating beam. You'll have no trouble finding what you are looking for. These flashlights have a world-class built-in self-cleaning technology. What more could you ask for in a flashlight?
9. Baton - Having a baton is a non-lethal self-defense weapon perfect to subdue a person who is out of control or violent. This is the most sought after tool if a riot breaks out and the call in the SWAT unit. Having a collapsible and autolock baton is perfect for any law enforcement officer. The item is small but effective in any self-defense situation.
10. Pepper Spray / Mace - Having your finger on a quick release mace that produces a powerful stream up to 10 feet can protect you and others in dangerous situations. You can easily hide this and quip it when the an emergency arises. You can put this in your key-chain. This is an excellent non-lethal preventive weapon. Keep in mind that having pepper spray or mace ready to release from your tactical belt or vest is a good thing to have.
11. Tactical Pen - Made out of pure aircraft aluminum, this heavy-duty bad boy can be carried in your pant or shirt pocket. This is a must have alternative to carrying a knife around. Not only does it write smooth but it can apply a substantial amount of force against an out of control person or animal - a tactical pen is your ideal tool.
12. Taser or Stun Gun - Can apply a stun gun or taser up to millions of volts of electricity. These devices really pack a mean punch. The tool creates a ton of electrical force and an intimidating electrical sound. When a taser or a stun gun must be used, it will instantaneously disrupt the message to the brain and causing the person to seize up immediately.
13. Law Enforcement Tool Kit - Cleaning your equipment, especially your sidearm pistol will keep everything clean, neat and working properly. The law enforcement tool kit is a great one to have.
14. First Aid Kit - A complete and comprehensive first aid kit is a must have to prepare for an emergency. The kit has everything you need from cuts, burns, to washing open wounds. This is an important piece of item in case an innocent victim gets hurt in which you can prevent them from getting an infection from using your first aid kit.
15. Law Enforcement Knife - Having a fine quality knife can not only be a life saver to yourself but to others you are trying to help. A law enforcement knife can help open locks, cut down barbed wire, chain fences and fend off intruders or defend yourself. You can easily keep this in your duty belt or vest.
16. Handcuffs - A good pair of secure handcuffs will keep the criminal suspect you just arrested from being able to flee.
17. Tactical Bag - If you need a heavy-duty bag to keep your arsenal and protective gear, get a tactical bag period. These solid built bags have large compartments to keep your personal belongings, shooting supplies, pistols and ammunition. Working in the field, a tactical bag is essential to carry things that are extra which won't fit into your duty belt or vest. The craftsmanship is world-class to keep you feeling confident in the field.
18. Holster - Holsters can fit most small to medium pistols. With a quick release buckle and snap on straps, you can feel confident that you can reach for your sidearm in time, and feel comfortable in any situation in the field. Holsters are lightweight and effective. There are spare magazine slots that allow you to carry extra ammunition.
19. Law Enforcement Scanners Having a law enforcement scanner can keep you ahead of the news when it comes to the weather, hurricanes, tornadoes, heavy rainstorms or blizzards. Using a law enforcement scanner, you can listen in onto the police and fire channels which also includes the frequency paramedics use for emergency radio contact.
20. Speed Gun - Enforcing the traffic law violations using a speed gun is important in keeping highways and streets safe from speeds, drunk, careless and reckless drivers.
22. GPS - Being a law enforcement officer has high demands and expectations in protecting your community and knowing the layout of your state, city and town. What if you receive a call that there's been a confrontation that escalated to a violent situation in a corner downtown? Who really knows every crevice of your city? When the time is crunching down and you have to get to an emergency situation fast, having a GPS will get you there that much quicker to save someone's life.
23. Slapper - Like a billy club or baton, this small-sized personal defense slapper really packs a punch. There's a leather wrap for you to grip the slapper easily. It has an intimidating and fierce look to it and the blow it can deliver is fearsome.
24. Caution Tape - If there's been an emergency, criminal scene or to warn local citizens to look out for danger, having a caution tape around the perimeter of the area is an excellent thing to have.
25. Jumpstarter with Air Compressor - One of the worst things to happen is if you forget to turn off your lights and the car dies. Or the tires deflate suddenly. This is when you need a jump starter with a built-in air compressor. No longer will you ever worry about your car battery dying or changing your tires if you have a car jump starter.

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
—James 3:17
Recently, I was on holiday with my family and we had such a good time that when the trip came to an end, we kept saying, “How time flies!” Then my five-year-old, Justin, said, “I wish time doesn’t fly, it just walks.” That was precious!
So we want to make sure that this year, time “walks”! We want to savor every moment and not waste a single day. Now if you’ve wasted days in 2017, take heart because you can redeem the time this year (see Eph. 5:16). How do you do that and make each day count? By walking in the hesed (grace) wisdom of God.

2018 IS THE YEAR OF HIS HESED WISDOM [GET THE FULL MESSAGE HERE]. GOD WANTS TO TEACH YOU HOW TO MAKE EVERY MOMENT COUNT, MAKE DECISIONS THAT LEAD TO GOOD SUCCESS, AND TURN AROUND EVERY SITUATION OF LACK AND DEFEAT.

The Hebrew word hesed in the Bible is so rich with meaning that it has been translated as lovemercy, and lovingkindnessHesed encompasses them all—it is the amazing grace of God, His unearned and undeserved favor. And this year, God wants to give you His wisdom so that you can walk in all the blessings of His hesed.
Beloved, God wants us to prioritize wisdom in 2018. Happy is the person who finds wisdom, because “length of days is in her right hand, in her left hand riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace” (Prov. 3:16–17). As you make wisdom your number one pursuit this year, you won’t just redeem the time, but you will also enjoy long life, abundant provision, honor, pleasure (or pleasantness), and peace!

EARTHLY WISDOM VERSUS HESED WISDOM

Now I’m not talking about worldly wisdom, but God’s hesed wisdom, wisdom that is reserved for His children. There is wisdom that causes you to be bitter, envious, and self-serving. Such wisdom, Scripture tells us, “does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. . . .But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy” (James 3:14–15, 17).
God’s wisdom is filled with His grace—peaceable, gentle, full of mercy and good fruits. Doesn’t that remind you of our loving Savior? Jesus is, after all, our grace and wisdom (see Titus 2:11, 1 Cor. 1:30). And because you are in Him, you have access to this hesed wisdom all the time.
So whatever situation you’re facing right now, whether it is a health challenge, an addiction, or a failing marriage, ask the Lord for hesed wisdom every day and see Him giving it to you liberally(see James 1:5). He is pleased when you humble yourself and ask for wisdom. To the lowly who look to Him for help, He gladly gives grace and wisdom (see James 4:6, Prov. 11:2 KJV)!
WHATEVER SITUATION YOU'RE FACING, ASK THE LORD FOR HESED WISDOM AND SEE HIM GIVING IT TO YOU LIBERALLY.
King Solomon humbled himself before God and asked for wisdom to govern God’s “great people” well. He called God’s people “great” but likened himself to “a little child who doesn’t know his way around” and asked the Lord for an “understanding heart” to govern God’s people well and know the difference between right and wrong (see 1 Kings 3:7–9 NLT). When you know that you don’t know much and ask God for wisdom, God can show you much. The Bible tells us this speech pleased the Lord and it still pleases Him today when we also humbly make it our prayer.

WISDOM COMES WHEN YOU’RE MINDFUL OF HIS HESED

When I was studying Solomon’s request for wisdom, I saw something I never saw before. I always thought that when God asked Solomon what he wanted, Solomon asked for wisdom straight away. But that’s not the case. Before Solomon even asked for wisdom, he said to God, “You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father. . . .You have continued this great kindnessfor him, and You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day” (1 Kings 3:6).
Solomon actually acknowledged God’s great grace first, not once but twice, because the words mercy and kindness here are translated from the same Hebrew word hesed, which is God’s grace. This young king appreciated and had a revelation of God’s great hesed, and because of that, was able to ask for and receive divine wisdom.
My friend, perhaps you’ve not come to the Lord much in the past to ask Him for wisdom to resolve your challenges. Perhaps you’ve felt that your troubles are of your own making and that God is unwilling to help you, or worse, wants you to suffer for them. Nothing can be further from the truth!
God’s hesed wisdom is His grace gift to us. If you want to see grace in action, just look at Jesus. See how He sought and ministered to the Samaritan woman at the well, a woman shunned by her neighbors because of her life choices. See how He publicly became friends with Zacchaeus, a tax collector hated by his own people. See how He was called “friend of sinners” by the religious leaders of his day.
SEE YOUR WEAKNESS AS YOUR QUALIFICATION TO EXPERIENCE HIS GREAT GRACE AND WISDOM FOR EVERY CHALLENGE.
This tells me that Jesus, our hesed and our wisdom, is not threatened or put off by sin or human weaknesses. In fact, His hesed is drawn to our weaknesses. Instead of seeing your past mistakes disqualifying you from His wisdom, I pray you’ll get a fresh revelation of His hesed and see that your very weakness is your qualification to experience His great grace and wisdom for every challenge!
So don’t be afraid to come boldly to His throne of grace (not judgment) and receive His mercy, grace, and wisdom to turn your challenges around. To all who ask, Scripture says that God gives His wisdom generously, “without finding fault” (James 1:5 NIV). Beloved, when His great grace and wisdom invade your negative situations, you’ll see His great power unleashed to deliver you from every kind of sin, addiction, pit, or captivity (see Acts 4:33)!

FLOWING IN TRUE HESED WISDOM

This year, I pray that as you grow in your understanding of God’s hesed, you will walk not only in wisdom that is God’s blessing of grace, but also in His wisdom that is full of grace. And you can depend on it to show you what is in the hearts of people as well as the heart of the matters you need to deal with.
You know, after Solomon received wisdom from God, he had to judge the case of two women, both of whom claimed to be the mother of a baby (see 1 Kings 3:16–28). I don’t know how many people realize this, but both women were actually prostitutes, outcasts of society, and the king very likely had more “important” cases to judge that day.
Solomon could have thrown both harlots out, but he didn’t. With compassion, he took the time to judge their case, and with God’s wisdom, was able to accurately see the hearts of the women. In so doing, the innocent baby was saved and reunited with his real mother.
This year, as we walk in hesed wisdom, let’s also ask God for a large heart to be patient with others lest we become impatient or proud. Scripture tells us that “God gave Solomon wisdom and exceedingly great understanding, and largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore” (1 Kings 4:29, boldface mine). It wasn’t just wisdom. God also gave Solomon a gracious heart.
When you have God’s wisdom, you will be able to see what others don’t see. But when you have a large heart, you won’t be puffed up by it. You won’t be demanding of your spouse, children, or others, “Why can’t you see it? What’s wrong with you?!” Instead, you’ll be patient and kind, knowing that it is by God’s grace that your eyes have been opened.

A YEAR OF REVELATION AND POWER

When God puts hesed wisdom into your spirit this year, you will start to see things according to their true nature. For example, if you like to smoke or party late into the night because you think it’s cool, you might be led to say, “What am I doing? I’m made for higher things than this!”
Perhaps you are in a relationship or caught up with activities (or even thoughts) that are not healthy for you. When God drops His wisdom into you, it’ll be like bam! His divine insight comes in and you see things for what they are. You will wake up and be led by His Spirit to stop wasting time. When God’s wisdom comes in, every bondage will fall off. You will start to live your life with purpose and make each day count!
WHEN GOD’S WISDOM COMES IN, YOU’LL START TO LIVE YOUR LIFE WITH PURPOSE AND MAKE EACH DAY COUNT.
Beloved, I pray you will receive into your heart what God has for you this year. May you walk in hesed wisdom throughout 2018 and experience length of days, abundant provision, honor, pleasure, and peace. I encourage you to read the book of Proverbs. It’s God’s wisdom condensed into thirty-one chapters, one chapter to feed on for each day of the month.
Meditate on any verse that speaks to your heart, always thanking the Lord for His wisdom, unmerited favor, mercy, and lovingkindness. Right in those verses, you will find Him speaking into your very area of need. You’ll find Him imparting His life-giving wisdom for the decisions you need to make and the situations you’re concerned about.
This year, as we press in to the Lord for a greater revelation of His great grace and ask Him for hesed wisdom in our lives, get ready to see His great power and resurrection life supplying all your needs and bringing restoration to every area of brokenness. By His hesed wisdom, we will “walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time” (Eph. 5:15–16) especially in these dark days, and experience all of His hesed blessings in every area of life! Amen!
Resting in His grace,
Joseph Prince
