Big Train Top Dodgers

On a sunny Tuesday night, the Bethesda Big Train hosted the Baltimore Dodgers.  The Big Train set out to keep their eight game winning streak alive and did so in a close 3-1 ball game.  Bo Logan (Florida Atlantic) started his first game of the season for the Big Train, pitching five innings of one run ball, giving up only three hits and one walk on his way to victory.

Luis Collazo (Virginia Tech) pitched one inning in relief and struck out two batters.  Devon Loomis (San Francisco) was next out of the bullpen and pitched two innings of no hit ball.  Out to close the game was Andy Frakes (San Francisco) who threw a perfect 9th inning, striking out one batter.

In the 1st inning, Stephen Alemais (Tulane) singled and stole his league leading 15th base of the season.  After advancing to third, Brandon Lowe (Maryland) knocked home Alemais on a ball that went right between the Dodgers first and second basemen to give the Big Train a 1-0 lead through one.

The Dodgers scored in the top of the 2nd to tie the game 1-1.  In the 4th, the Big Train were able to break the deadlock when Cody Manzella (High Point) scored from third base after Stephen Alemais singled for the third time on the night, giving the Big Train a 2-1 lead.

After a leadoff double off the center field wall by Chris Lewis (Sacramento State) in the 5th inning, Ryne Willard (N.C. State) bunted for a base hit advancing Lewis to third.  Lewis scored with Cody Brown (Mississippi State) batting, on a balk by the Dodgers pitcher to put the Big Train up 3-1.

Notes: Stephen Alemais had three singles, and two stolen bases....Cody Manzella had three singles....Ryne Willard reached base three times with two hits.
