“I
call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set
before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life,
that both thou and thy seed may live” (Deuteronomy 30:19).
God
wants the best for us, but He’ll never force it on us. He made us free
moral agents, and He’ll always respect our right to choose.

Kingdom Culture Influence Of Relationships Volume 2 Titles: Disc 1 – The Priority Of Culture In Relationships Part 1 Disc 2 – The Priority Of Culture In Relationships Part 2 Disc 3 – The Priority Of Culture In Relationships Part 3 Dr. Myles Munroe speaks on how The Kingdom of God and it’s government
should positively affect those that come in conatct with it. What is the
Kingdom of God? Where is it located? How will we know that it is here?
The answer is, The Kingdom does not come through observation but
through relationships.
Many Christians
struggling with self-effort are still focused on their performance,
rather than on their belief. There is a difference between performing to
try to do what Jesus has already done, and performing as a result of
faith in what we have received by grace. Some of us may have trouble
understanding that we could actually receive something from God without
doing anything to deserve it. If we have been taught that God’s
blessings are dependent on our works, grace will challenge this mindset.
Grace is all about believing and receiving, not about working and
deserving. The Law of Moses locked the people into continual
self-effort; grace frees us from it. We receive this freedom only when
we accept it by faith.
Relying on our own efforts puts us back under the law; Jesus rescued us from that.
For when we were in the flesh, the motions of
sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth
fruit unto death (Romans 7:5).
In this context, “the flesh” means to be under the law,
trying to do good through self-effort. This is a perfect description of
religion.
And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken
diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all
his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God
will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these
blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken
unto the voice of the LORD thy God. Blessed shalt thou be in the city,
and blessed shalt thou be in the field… But it shall come to pass, if
thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to
do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day;
that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee
(Deuteronomy 28:1-3, 15).
Under the law, perfect performance is required before any blessings can be received.
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being
made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that
hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the
Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the
Spirit through faith (Galatians 3:13, 14).
Everything we have under the new covenant we received through Jesus, not through our performance.
Christ paid the ransom and delivered us from being cursed for our inability to perform according to the law’s requirements.
Jesus’ works, not ours, position us to receive blessings. We simply have faith in Him.
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is
made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and
redemption (1 Corinthians 1:30).
Only by His doing are we in Christ Jesus; we are not blessed by our own performance.
Jesus, in us, gives us wisdom, makes us righteous, sanctifies us, and makes us holy.
When Jesus says we are holy, we are holy right
then, not when our spiritual fruit begins to show. We will not
experience the fruit until we believe, first.
We must accept the root of righteousness, first, in order to begin the process of transformation.
What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as
pertaining to the flesh, hath found? For if Abraham were justified by
works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. For what saith the
scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for
righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of
grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him
that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God
imputeth righteousness without works (Romans 4:1-6).
God considered Abraham righteous because of Abraham’s faith, apart from any self-effort.
For us, this means that our works are unnecessary; grace is God’s unearned favor.
In the eyes of God, true righteousness is by faith.
And be found in him, not having mine own
righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith
of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith (Philippians 3:9).
Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s
sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our
Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into
this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we
confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory (Romans
5:1, 2, NLT).
We are made right with God by placing our faith in
Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who
we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious
standard (Romans 3:22, 23, NLT).
Jesus’ body and blood removed the curse and the need to work to receive from God.
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace (Ephesians 1:7).
We are redeemed and forgiven not by our own actions, but by Jesus’ blood. He paid the ransom, not us.
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness,
and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have
redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the
image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature (Colossians
1:13-15).
The use of the word “hath” signifies the past
tense—everything that Jesus did is finished, and ready for us to
receive. We did not earn any of it.
Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace (Galatians 5:4).
Under grace, it is not okay to work to justify ourselves. We fall from grace when we think our works are necessary.
Falling from grace is not falling into sin. When we fall into sin, grace is available to get us out of it.
The Galatians moved away from trusting grace, and toward trusting their performance.
Oh, foolish Galatians! Who has cast an evil spell
on you? For the meaning of Jesus Christ’s death was made as clear to you
as if you had seen a picture of his death on the cross. Let me ask you
this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the law of
Moses? Of course not! You received the Spirit because you believed the
message you heard about Christ. How foolish can you be? After starting
your new lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect
by your own human effort? Have you experienced so much for nothing?
Surely it was not in vain, was it? I ask you again, does God give you
the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of
course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about
Christ. In the same way, “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as
righteous because of his faith.” The real children of Abraham, then, are
those who put their faith in God. What’s more, the Scriptures looked
forward to this time when God would make the Gentiles right in his sight
because of their faith. God proclaimed this good news to Abraham long
ago when he said, “All nations will be blessed through you.” So all who
put their faith in Christ share the same blessing Abraham received
because of his faith (Galatians 3:1-9, NLT).
We must use our faith to believe what Jesus has done, not as an attempt to get God to do something for us.
Faith is a positive response to what grace has already made available.
You crazy Galatians! Did someone put a hex on you? Have
you taken leave of your senses? Something crazy has happened, for it’s
obvious that you no longer have the crucified Jesus in clear focus in
your lives. His sacrifice on the cross was certainly set before you
clearly enough. Let me put this question to you: How did your new life
begin? Was it by working your heads off to please God? Or was it by
responding to God’s Message to you? Are you going to continue this
craziness? For only crazy people would think they could complete by
their own efforts what was begun by God. If you weren’t smart enough or
strong enough to begin it, how do you suppose you could perfect it? Did
you go through this whole painful learning process for nothing? It is
not yet a total loss, but it certainly will be if you keep this up!
Answer this question: Does the God who lavishly provides you with his
own presence, his Holy Spirit, working things in your lives you could
never do for yourselves, does he do these things because of your
strenuous moral striving or because you trust him to do them in you?
Don’t these things happen among you just as they happened with Abraham?
He believed God, and that act of belief was turned into a life that was
right with God (Galatians 3:1-6, MSG).
The Holy Spirit was sent to work things in our lives we
cannot do ourselves. We are deceived if we think self-effort and
willpower will get the job done.
Grace more than makes up for our weaknesses and inadequacies.
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee:
for my strength is made perfect in weakness… for when I am weak, then am
I strong (2 Corinthians 12:9, 10).

5 Reasons You're Gaining Weight While Dieting
by Andre Coelho
The good news is that you’ve
decided to focus on your weight by putting more emphasis on your diet
and the things you put in your body. The bad news is that all of a
sudden, you’re noticing the scale starting to creep back up. What gives?
You were doing so well and now out of nowhere, you’re gaining weight. Here are some of the very common reasons why you’re gaining weight
while on a diet. Make corrections and you’ll start seeing the number on
the scale start dropping again. 1. You’re in a caloric surplus without knowing it I always like the saying, “You don’t know what you don’t know.” When
it comes to trying to lose weight, you need to be in a caloric deficit.
Yet, when you ask people how many calories they are consuming on their
diet, they have no idea. So, exactly how do you know you’re in a
deficit? You don’t. In order to make sure you are not in a surplus, you
should be tracking your calories. Using a tool (app) such as MyFitnessPal is quick, simple, and
convenient. Simply plug in the food you eat and it will provide you with
information on your calories and macros to ensure you are in a deficit.
You can also log your weight and it will chart it for you and show how
you’re progressing over time. Gaining weight on a diet should never
happen as it’s a numbers game. Hit your numbers and you should see the
results you desire. 2. You’re skipping workouts Another reason I see many people gaining weight while on a diet or
when they stop dieting is that they stop exercising with intensity or
stop exercising completely. There are no off days in the grand scheme of
things. Just because you lost the weight doesn’t mean you can stop
working out. If you’re trying to lose weight or manage the weight you’re
currently at, you need to be focused on your nutrition and workouts
every day – especially nutrition. But the great thing about the workouts is that when you build muscle,
it helps keep your metabolism revving and burning calories – even while
at rest! You should never be skipping workouts if you’re trying to lose
weight. And cardio alone isn’t going to cut it. You’re going to want to
tighten everything up by including weight training as part of your
weight loss strategy. 3. You’re following a fad diet There is no quick fix with losing weight. Sure, you could lose weight
on some type of fat burner and fad diet, but if it’s not something you
can adhere to as a lifestyle, you’re eventually going to start gaining
weight back. These diets that have you cut out complete macronutrients
are insane and not sustainable. They may be able to pull water out of
your body to see the scale drop temporarily, but in the long-term, they
are not a viable option for weight loss success. The best thing to do is track your macros as mentioned in #1, cut out
the junk you’ve been eating on a daily basis, and focus on good, clean,
healthy food options. 4. You’re using the same workout for months
The
definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting
a different result. If you do the same workouts every week without
changing anything, it’s going to drive you insane. Why? Because not only
is it going to be extremely boring, but you’re also going to eventually
stop seeing results because your body will become acclimated to the
stress you’re putting it under by utilizing the same workouts. Change it
up! You don’t need to start gaining weight in order to realize your
workouts are stagnant. Push yourself every week in the gym to achieve
progressive overload.
You want to challenge your muscles every workout by providing them
with a different stimulus from previous workouts. This can be
accomplished through different exercises, different angles, more sets,
more reps, or more weight. There is no reason for you to be doing the
same workouts using the same reps, sets, and weight for more than two
consecutive weeks. Strive to challenge your mind and body by and push
them to the limit with your workouts. 5. You’re not getting enough sleep If you are gaining weight but feel like your nutrition and workouts
are on point, an area that many people neglect is their sleep. Most
simply assume if they don’t get enough sleep that they are tired and
rundown the following day when in actuality, not getting proper rest can
not only inhibit proper recovery from workouts but also increase stress
and cortisol in the body which can cause you to start gaining weight. You should strive to achieve a minimum of seven hours of sleep each
night. Anything less will start disrupting your hormone levels which in
turn will activate your hunger hormone and cause you to potentially end
up in a caloric surplus by the end of the day – not ideal when trying to
lose weight. Not only that, but when you don’t get enough sleep, you tend to
gravitate towards energy drinks or coffee which depending on what you
consume, could be full of added sugars and fat (hidden calories you
weren’t aware of or counted in your daily numbers causing you to be in a
surplus for the day). Put it All Together to Stop Gaining Weight While Dieting
Take a deep dive into your day and figure out which of the above
could be causing you to be gaining weight. Make the necessary changes in
order to get back on track and start seeing progress with your weight
loss. Nothing above is ground-breaking or some sort of secret – they
simply work as long as you put in the work. There is no magic pill or
top-secret weight loss diet or workout to give you results. It takes
time, consistency, and dedication to achieve weight loss and keep it off
for good. Remember, nothing works unless you do and by utilizing the
right strategies, you will move closer to your weight loss goal.

Vegan/vegetarian diet help you lose weight
By: Laura Ng
The root of obesity problem comes from the food we choose, not by the
volume we eat. High-fats meals which consist mainly of animal-based
foods are likely to be the main cause. Hear this from Dr Terry
Shintain, a Hawaiian doctor who is devoted to helping obese adults slim
down and lead healthier lives. He said hunger is one of the three basic
needs of your body, besides air and water. When you are hungry, you
must satisfy your hunger and eat. That's absolutely nothing wrong with
this fact. But you only require 2,000 to 2,500 calories per day
to keep your weight in control. Any calories above this range will
probably cause weight gain. So do animal foods satisfy your hunger, without piling on the excess calories? No! Animal
foods are so rich in calories but lack in bulk that you probably have
to eat a lot of them to feel satisfied. By then, you would have
exceeded your daily calorie limit. If you overeat at every meal and
does not expend the excess calories, the end result will be weight gain. Then
you start to panic and turn to desperate measures like skipping meals,
popping diets pills or going to weight-loss centers to lose weight.
However, you can't sustain with these so-called weight loss programs
since you are so used to high-fat animal-based foods. You simply
cannot overcome the feelings of deprivation. Worst still, you have to
endure the embarrassing side effects of some weight-loss treatments. Eventually you give up because no one can endure these feelings for long. And the vicious cycle continues. Now,
vegan diet offers a better solution to weight loss since most
plant-based foods are low in calories but high in fiber and other
nutrients. Fiber is the culprit in reducing hunger and improves
satiety. It helps to move food through the digestive system faster,
thereby reducing the energy absorption. Consider this : for 2,500
calories, you need to eat 9.4lbs of apples compared to only 2.1lbs
chicken. Can you imagine eating 9.4lbs of apples to feel satisfied? You
probably feel full after 2 apples and that's not even half of 2,500
calories. That's why plant foods allow you to eat as much as you like-without consuming extra calories. Vegans
consume more than 50% of their calories from unprocessed carbohydrates
such as wholegrains, oats, legumes. These complex carbohydrates
actually speed up your metabolic rate even while resting, It also
enhance the release of seratonin (a chemical in the brain which affects
emotion, behaviour and thought) which helps to suppress further
cravings. You can find out more about the calories of each food so that you will have an idea of your calories count. In
conclusion, you should try to choose from a broad variation of
vegetables, whole grains, fruits and legumes. The motto : Eat when
you're hungry, stop when you're full.
Ultimately, you still need
to strike a balance of body, mind and spirit in order to lead a healthy
lifestyle. The choice is yours.

Bridgeton, Cumberland County, New Jersey --- A Millville police officer
acted properly in the fatal shooting last year of a man who was well
known to police as under treatment for mental health issues including
suicidal behavior, the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office said
Tuesday.
An eight-page report from the office lists multiple occasions of
46-year-old Edward C. Gandy Jr. encountering Millville police and
telling them of his desire to kill himself or to be killed by police.
Officer No. 1 fired his .223-caliber Colt AR-15 three times at Gandy.
The rifle is semi-automatic, requiring a trigger pull for each shot.
An autopsy recovered two “projectiles” and six bullet fragments from
Gandy’s chest.
Emergency medical personnel, standing by near the scene, took Gandy to a
hospital in Vineland. He was declared dead at about 11:09 a.m. Jan. 22,

Panic Disorder
By: Dr Marcus Wee Lun Tan
Do you have sudden moments of intense fear accompanied by palpitations, breathlessness, dizziness and other physical symptoms?
Do you have Panic Disorder ?
A
panic attack is a sudden surge of overwhelming fear that can come
without warning and without any obvious reason. It is also accompanied
by some or all of the following symptoms:
1. heart beating fast
2. difficulty breathing
3. dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea
4. trembling, sweating, shaking
5. choking, chest discomfort
6. fear that you're going to go crazy or are about to die
7. tingling sensation in fingers or toes ("pins and needles"), numbness
Panic
attacks can occur without warning and can also precipitated by
situations and thoughts that are anxiety provoking. Because it is
associated with many physical symptoms such as palpitations and
breathlessness, many sufferers think that they have a medical condition
such as a heart attack.
Do you need assessment and treatment?
If
you have the above symptoms and they are causing distress and affecting
your life, it is time to consult a doctor. Panic disorder is a chronic
condition and as it progresses, the sufferer may become very fearful of
having another panic attack in a public place. This may lead to refusal
to leave his or her house, a condition known as agoraphobia. Hence Panic
Disorder can impair the social and occupational function of the
sufferer and can lower the quality of life of the sufferer.
What happens in a psychiatric consultation?
An
in-depth interview by a psychiatrist will include asking questions on
the symptoms, your background history and medical history. Further
investigations may be done if needed to ensure that a physical illness
is not a cause of the panic attacks. After the diagnosis is made, the
psychiatrist decides on the treatment for you. All information shared
during the consultations is strictly confidential.
How is Panic Disorder treated?
Panic
disorder is treated using medications and/or psychological therapy.
Medications effectively help to reduce anxiety. These act on the
serotonin receptors in the brain to reduce the level of anxiety and do
not result in addiction. Other short-term medicines such as sedatives
and sleeping pills may also be given to abort the panic attacks, improve
sleep and allow you to relax . This is usually combined with cognitive
behavorial therapy (CBT) and relaxation therapy.
Remember: Panic Disorder can be treated and you can feel better. Do not postpone treatment and suffer needlessly.

MESSAGE: Rest From Being Stressed
Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
Hebrews 2:1
Something
very serious has been happening to the Body of Christ. We've often let
the things which we have heard—the message of faith and
righteousness—slip. I'm not just talking about those believers
who've been so surrounded by religion that they've never heard about the
power that's theirs in Christ Jesus. I'm talking about those of us who
have heard the Word and have known the thrill of living by faith. In
my own life, for example, there were times when I'd pray for healing.
I'd say all the right words, "Thank God, I believe I receive..." and all
that. But inside I'd be thinking, I wonder why God isn't healing me? You
see, even though I'd said that I believed I was healed, I hadn't
really. I'd staggered at the promise of God, believing what my body told
me instead of the Word of God. I don't care how long you've been a
believer or how long you've been practicing the principles of faith.
You can easily slip into unbelief about the promises of God. And, when
you do, it will cost you dearly. "But if slipping into unbelief is so easy," you may say, "how can we avoid it?" Hebrews 4:11 tells us: "Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief." We
must labor! Not by working with our hands and feet or struggling to get
God to do something, but by spending time in God's Word—hanging on to
the promises of God by faith day after day. We must labor by hearkening
to the Word and refusing to let it slip. Don't get casual about the Word. Don't make the mistake of thinking, Oh I know all that faith stuff. I know how to receive my healing. If you do, you'll slack off and one of these days the devil will catch you unprepared and steal you blind. Instead, dig more deeply in the Word than ever. Labor! Be diligent to keep your faith from slipping—and you won't have to fall!
In this liberating message, Jesse will help you uncover and reject all
sabotaging, impoverished thinking and limited views of God so that you
can receive the overflow of miracles, favor, and blessings Jesus has for
you.
God Wants Prosperity for You
by
Creflo Dollar

23 Jul 2019
Money is a number one goal for many people; it’s
virtually impossible to go a single day without seeing or reading tips
from financial experts on how to accumulate wealth. There seems to be no
end to strategies for becoming wealthy, though some of the schemes we
see are questionable. Although we may make the mistake of equating being
prosperous only with having a big bank account, God actually wants prosperity for us. The prosperity He has in mind is not just our in finances, but in every other area of our lives as well. To prosper is to succeed, to do well, to be healthy, and to flourish.
The world limits the definition of prosperity mainly to monetary terms,
but God removes all limitations in this area. “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth”
(3 John 1:2). Our souls are where our intellect and emotions reside.
Money does us no good if we have emotional issues or our mindset makes
us miserable; it’s also useless to us if we’re not physically well
enough to enjoy it.
God’s will is to prosper us, but this only happens when we trust Him in everything He tells us. “‘For
I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper
you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’”
(Jeremiah 29:11, NIV). If we put our hope in money, that hope can
crumble and blow away. Money doesn’t have the ability to give us a
successful and prosperous future—that only comes from God. Many of us may have developed a love-hate relationship with money. We
pursue it constantly and are reluctant to part with it, yet we’re
afraid to talk about it or how much it means to us. There’s nothing
wrong with having money, but a wrong relationship with it hurts us. “For
the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted
after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through
with many sorrows” (1 Timothy 6:10). Money is notoriously
undependable; having more faith in what it can do than in what God can
do will eventually backfire on us. Giving is one area that greatly influences our level of prosperity.
Sadly, many churches shy away from teaching the connection between
giving and prosperity, because of the fear of what others will think. We
can actually determine how financially blessed we will be by how
generously we give. “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good
measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men
give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it
shall be measured to you again” (Luke 6:38). When we joyfully open our hands to give, they will be open to receive blessings in return. God is well aware of how much we need money. He wants to bless us
with it, but we need to get our priorities straight, first. That means
going against what others think is sensible, and putting Him above
everything else.“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33). Trusting in Him more than in material wealth opens the door to blessings on every level.
