Most people have no idea what falling from grace means. Religion defines it as a descent from divine favor into sin; however, a correct interpretation of the Word of God gives us a different meaning. For born-again believers, this is an important concept that could mean the difference between resting peacefully in Christ and slipping into painful self-effort. (Continued below......)



(.....Continued....)Jesus’ body and blood provided forgiveness for all our sins, even the ones we haven’t committed yet, and we can trust in what He did on the cross. We need to remember this when a religious mindset threatens to move us away from depending on God and toward depending on our own performance to justify ourselves before Him. The covenant of grace that Jesus established operates by faith, not by constant hard work. Christ becomes of no effect to us when we’re justified by the law; this is falling from grace.

Sin is no longer an issue with God because Jesus’ one-time sacrifice has already taken care of it. We all make mistakes from time to time; when we fall on our Christian walk, we don’t fall back into sin, but straight into God’s loving hands, where His grace ministers to us and encourages us to get back up and keep going. Our salvation doesn’t depend on what we do, but on what Christ already did. Therefore, falling from grace is actually falling back into self-effort.

The salvation we’ve received is permanent and irrevocable. Where sin abounds, grace abounds much more; in other words, nothing we could ever do is strong enough to overcome God’s favor toward us. As believers, we’re not what we do, but what God says we are—saints, not sinners. Our status as saints and children of God is something we didn’t have to work for and could never earn; this is something to be truly grateful for.

Father God, Your Son chose to come to earth and die on a cross to permanently wash away sin. We’re now justified in Your sight by our belief in what He did, not by our own efforts. We’re thankful that we receive Your grace by our faith. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Where can I find the truth?

 

The Truth Will Stand When the World is on Fire

A version of this statement is often passed down within families. It comes from a variety of sources. One is Shakespeare's "The Merchant of Venice": "The Truth will Out." In Ephesians 5:9 of The Bible, a modern translation fits the statement: "The light within you produces what is good, right, and true." Essentially, it is the little voice in our heart that tells us right from wrong. The world is on fire when enough people do not listen to that little voice. Yet, time after time, even when the world is on fire, enough people have listened, combined, and acted for the collective good. Another quote: "When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall one by one, an un-pitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle." Give Edmund Burke, an Irish political philosopher, credit for saying something that we all know to be true.


Tests of our Character

It tends to happen in small groups. Someone does something out of line. What do the others in the small group do? Usually, they tolerate the act. Then, the antagonist believes that his/her activity has borne fruit. It happens again. Most likely, the group will take note, but will not get involved. A psychologist among them would have an opportunity to conduct a case study on what has become a group dynamic. For everyone else in the group, this could be the opening volley of misery. This is the tyrant in the office, the bully on the school ground,the rule breaker and mischief-maker. What happens if someone in the office realizes, after repeated disruptions, that he/she must stand up to the tyrant? What indeed? If one good person takes a stand, the rest of the group still must do something. Usually, they do nothing. "Let Human Resources handle it." "Discipline is the teacher's job." These moments are a test of character for everyone in the small group. If someone stands up for right, and stands alone, the stronger personality will win. Quite often, the stronger personality belongs to the tyrant. An emboldened tyrant will dominate, much as a sheep-herding dog dominates sheep that outnumber the dog, perhaps 200:1.

Citizens

People predominately live their lives as members of a human society. In some parts of the world, those societies are still called tribes. In industrialized countries, citizens often form around villages, towns, cities. Folks identify themselves to be part of a district, a state, a region and a country. Besides geography, people form around their familial ties, their religion, their sport team, their school, their earned educational designation (society of engineers, local labor union). In all of these examples of shared human bonds, the rule of law is necessary. Someone must lead. He/'she is expected to promote the welfare of the society through governance. Tests of our character are found here too. The same people who will not listen to their inner voice, will not stand up for righteousness, will not support the one who does, also will not likely contribute to the society. They will not lead or volunteer to support. They will not vote and will not communicate with the one who was elected. When trouble comes,they expect the police to handle it. When their child acts out in public, they will not correct the child. Their country might have been born from sacrifice. Others, before them, may have given their lives to guarantee the freedoms that all of the citizens enjoy. Yet, in time of need, during crisis, and even during the safe times when voting in the best leader is so important, so many will shirk their obligation to their ancestors and to the society's needs today. They will not listen to their inner voice. "Let someone else vote." "Someone should say something to that lady who lets her dog C*** on their lawn." "I don't have time to answer that senator who asked me how he is doing in Congress." "Those poor starving people in the earthquake zone;someone should organize food for them." "What is the world coming to? Those people have just taken another country. Don't they realize that their leader is a tyrant? I hope we stay out of it."

The Truth

The rule of law only works when society enforces the rule. Many will argue that there is too much corruption and crime in the world, too many different points of view to gain consensus on what is right, vast distances in geography, and greater personal risks today make it harder to take a principled stand. Yet,no argument has the strength to withstand public scrutiny or self-examination. When we do not take a stand, we stand for nothing. Edmund Burke is not remembered for being correct about the stands that he took. He is admired for standing up. Any of us who have done that in our lives, look back on the moment without the stinging rebuke of regret. The ones who stand alone against the tyrant and bully stand tall, even if they lose. It is the ones who will not stand with him/her, those who let themselves fail the test of character, who cast their eyes down to their shoes in the presence of the one who was sacrificed. But, take heart. Some of the most admired, good people of societies were slackers for much of their early lives. One day,they looked up and stood up for right. That became their habit. The truth will stand when the world is on fire. Truth is revealed by people who will not tolerate a wrong. When they stand, they are the rock. Those who stand with them build a stone wall about that rock. Never are there too many of them to extinguish a moral fire. There can be too few. Stand up!

About 7 years ago give or take several months I was on a kids summer camp. I was a chubby kid more on the fat side which was just beginning to go through puberty. Suffice it to say going to the camp wasn’t my idea. My father decided that I need toughening and he sent me in the middle of nowhere for a summer full hiking, biking, swimming in the lake and away from video games. None of my friends were going there and basically it was like a hell for me. The other kids made making fun of me a kind of sport so I stayed away from them as much as possible. Probably my only real friend in the camp was one of the instructors - Avi. He was an ex-Israeli Defense Force soldier and had a very strange sense of humor but I liked him because he treated me like adult and not like a fat piece of lard. (Continued below......)

Anyway every morning around 6 am he would go near the lake and train some moves for a week or so I thought it was Kung-Fu but eventually I understood that it was Krav Maga, "the Isreali Kung-Fu" as Avi put it. After several days watching him (I was getting before everyone else because this made getting away from them easier), I convinced him to teach me. And so my Krav Maga training began. It wasn’t long before I realized I really enjoy practicing the moves and later training with him. By the end of the summer I was really hooked on the concept and the idea of this martial art and not surprisingly when I went back home I looked for Krav Maga schools in the NYC and found several. As I continued practicing it I lost weight and the abuse from the school bullies stop. Everything would have been just peachy if it wasn’t for my father who constantly mocked me about training Krav Maga, according to him a real man didn’t need to train fancy jumps and kicks. So he decided to prove me that I wasn’t ready to protect myself, but his plan backfired.

While I was sleeping he barged in my room with a mask while my big brother was recording the whole thing on camera. He expected to freak me out by grabbing my shoulder and screaming "This is a robbery" in my ear, he didn’t expect my just woken up self to hit him with the night lamp in the face and then to almost instantly to proceed kicking and hitting him. The video was quite spectacular actually, the type of which turns viral when it goes in the web.

As a direct result from this adventure my father had a broken nose and lots of bruises. He now attends my Krav Maga School too and my mother keeps the tape and shows it on Christmas and family gatherings for much of my father’s annoyance.

In conclusion I want to say that I am not violent man, but when the thanks to my training when the situation expects it I will react properly even if it is my father.

(...Continued.....)These are the thoughts from one who has been researching what it will take to start a New Church and how best it can be created. The intent is to get you thinking about Bible Study as a means to not only start a New Church but also how to expand an existing one.

Most of the early Churches started this way as there were no formal Church buildings in which to meet and hold services and that the teachers, disciples and other ministers were being persecuted in those early years.

PLAN AHEAD:

Have a vision for what you'd like to see happen in your group:

AFFINITY: What people hold in common has a way of attracting and bonding them together in a group. "Affinity" can motivate some people to join a group who would have otherwise not been interested in participating.

SHORT DURATION / HIGH FREQUENCY: Groups that launch with a shorter duration (4-6 weeks) and meet uninterrupted every week have a much greater chance of sticking together after their first season than those who don't. This combination of meeting logistics works well in the American culture. Furthermore, the weekly meeting frequency accelerates relationship-building and actually creates more time for people to get to know each other. This is because groups that meet bi-weekly or monthly find themselves allocating more time for members to "catch-up" before they can build off their previous group experience.

PICTORIAL PROMOTIONS:

When informing other about your new group, help people to construct mental pictures of what they can anticipate by "advertising" everything you just planned (affinity, vision, food, and childcare). The more questions you can answer up-front, the better. This also helps them to invite friends to join them who may not have any prior church or small-group experience.

"What is the single most important thing to bear in mind when leading small groups?"

1 answer is this:

"The key principle to keep in mind is that smaller groups offer a completely different means of 'doing church' compared to a congregational setting." Now, of course, both formats are needed. It's not either/or, but both/and. The point is that when we meet in small groups we should exploit the advantages they offer to the fullest. What is different between the two ways?

  1. We do them in a completely differently way. The style presented in a congregational meeting is mainly that those present are spectators. Whereas, the emphasis in a small group is that everyone gets to become a participator. This can best be summed up in the New Testament recurring phrase "one another". Every believer present is a recipient of the grace of God and therefore has something to share with the rest of the group. The body edifies itself in love (Eph.4:16).

  2. We also do things in groups which do not happen in a congregational setting. For example, discipleship. Small groups are the ideal setting for making disciples.

The New Testament clearly recognizes the need for both. In the book of Acts we often come across the two formats of church life in terms such as "in the temple" and "from house to house" (e.g. Acts 2:46&47; 5:42; 20:20). This is just part of the information needed for creating a new church from scratch. Please keep an eye out for the other article discussing the other ways.

Hockey training programs that are meant for girls must be more intense so that girls get good training and build their stamina. Training for strength is important for a girl’s hockey team. It can be stronger and more effective if the right plan and way is selected for the training. These techniques when learnt are practiced numerous times for hours just to bring perfection. What the girls need more while training themselves for hockey without ice is a stamina build up that would make them go on for hours. In hockey, players have to make use of their speed. For this, they have to work hard to condition their pace and speed. But this requires a solid base without which the girls may fall weak in their performance.

Girls have to use the speed of their body appropriately during the game. They have to run fast and at the same time, balance their body when competing with the opposite team. This happens specially when there is one-on-one competition with the puck. The players have to run fast and for this they need enough strength to win the puck chasing part. Training for strength plays an important role here to help them give a good performance.

There are many concerns that disturb females while going for strength training. Basically these are myths which prevents the girls from getting a good training and conditioning their bodies.

• Strength Training doesn’t make you look like a man- Many girls think that they will become bulky after strength training. This is only a myth. Females have fewer fibers and they do not develop bulky muscles easily. Testosterone, the hormone found in a male body, is also responsible for muscle build up. Since this hormone is not present in females they don’t have any chance of getting muscular biceps or legs.

• Strength Training leads to injuries- It is not true. High intensity exercises are meant to improve your stamina. If you the right techniques and methods are followed during the workout there is no chance of getting injured. Hockey training programs need good coaches that are experienced in high intensity work outs. The injuries are cause only when the players follow the wrong method and then injure their muscles.

• Females don’t need strength training- Females need strength training equally as men. Training for hockey for girls does not involve high intensity exercises. This is because they think that girls can do without it. But it must be considered that when men needs strength training for hockey then why don’t women? There must be complete training for hockey whether it is for boys or for girls.

(Continued.....)For example, during the past 50 years, American people have been sold a bill of goods when it comes to cholesterol. Our bodies produce this substance, without which we could not live. Our obsession with cholesterol goes all the way back to the Framingham study which was flawed. Heart attacks and strokes were blamed squarely on cholesterol when the real culprit has been and continues to be chronic inflammation. But Big Pharma, sensing its chance to make billions of dollars, found a way to synthesize Red Yeast Rice, which they called Statins. Today, doctors have millions of people on statins, most of whom simply don’t need them. And the side effects can be nasty.

Instead, I concentrate on fighting chronic inflammation by using curcumin (which is the active ingredient in turmeric). Curcumin does wonders for your heart, brain, joints and digestive system. Most important, it fights the silent inflammation in your arteries which causes very small particles of cholesterol and calcium to stick to the walls of those arteries. CoQ10 is also the fuel that ignites the energy centers of our cells called mitochondria. Our energy, stamina and heart strength depend on significant levels of CoQ10.   1. Drink water, especially before meals

Drinking water can speed up your metabolism by 24-30% over a 1 to 1.5 hour period, helping you burn off some extra calories.

Eggs have many benefits, including helping you lose weight.
