Choose Love, Not Strife & Overcoming Fear in Doing God's Will

Overcoming Fear in Doing God's Will

  • Author Joseph B. Glosenger
Fear can be overcome. Even very fearful Christians can become brave. In my own experience of overcoming fear, I've found wisdom which I hope, dear reader, will help you to find victory in your walk with God.

Do you love to argue? Join Kenneth Copeland on Believer’s Voice of Victory as he explains why an argumentative nature will stifle the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Learn why bridling your tongue and staying in love is vital to seeing your dreams come to pass. When you choose love, not strife, you choose VICTORY! Get more out of this broadcast! The Effect of Fear on the Believer
God wants his children to do his will. However, fear can interfere with our trust in God; Men can act in disobedience, and even go completely astray because of fear. They can doubt whether they should trust God's leading. They wonder, for example, "Will God protect me in witnessing?" or, "Is he really leading me to tell this person about Jesus?" or, "Does he really want me to call my estranged sister?"
When God speaks clearly to a man, saying "Do this." or, "Go there." or, "Stop doing that." in that moment, it is certain that God has spoken. Yet, along comes fear. The man asks, "What will happen?" Doubt then follows. He wonders, "Did he really tell me to do that?" So, the man stumbles; he leaves the work unperformed, losing the narrow way. As his stumbling continues, his fear settles in, and a pattern of fruitlessness emerges in the man's life.
Hebrews 10:36-39 "For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul."
My Own Experience in Defeating Fear
I had this same experience early in my Christian walk; for nine years I was in fear, fruitless, and running from God. But, I battled my fear and overcame it totally. I returned to God, and found the narrow way.
Today, I've witnessed to thousands of people; I've served God unceasingly for more than five years, in complete victory over all of the power of the enemy. I write this to evidence to you, dear reader, that the cycle of fear and doubt can be broken.
2 Timothy 1:7 "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
You can totally defeat your fear. By trusting in God and doing his will, you'll grow increasingly sure of your footing along the narrow way. Your works along the way will bear good fruit for all men. You'll live rejoicing in the satisfaction of truly serving God.
I'll show you how I overcame my fear; hopefully, my method will work for you, too.
Romans 8:14 "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."
Isaiah 40:31 "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
John 15:14-16 "Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you."
Praying Unto God for Boldness, Bravery, and Strength
Matthew 21:22 "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."
God can save you from your fear. You need only to pray for bravery in doing his will. God will hear your reconciliatory prayer for bravery, with confession of the fear. I encourage you to pray such a prayer today, in faith, dear reader.
With believing prayer in request for boldness, bravery, and strength, God's voice will again be made clear to you. Importantly, this is the time to begin obeying God's leading – the moment his leading is clear is the one to trust and follow him.
Bravery is an excellent virtue of man. This virtue can be built in the heart of even the most fearful men; I have further wisdom in this, that I've learned of God. There is a method to establish bravery in your own heart, which I'll share with you now:
We Become Brave by Doing Brave Things
Overcoming fear requires this simple technique: when you fear doing a thing, you must do it. Bold people often fear too. But, they know from experience that God is faithful, so they push through the fear, trusting God, triumphing over fear completely.
On Breaking Down Fear
As a man walks the narrow way facing down his fears, carrying out the will of God, he attains the mastery over the fear – it weakens. Continuing in this way, fearfulness can ultimately be totally overcome.
All fear of doing good has it's root in lies; you must either rule over your fear, or it will rule over you. God is trustworthy. I exhort you, do trust him, and live in service to him.
The apostles are our best example of boldness, powerfully exhibiting their faith in God. The book of Acts shows the efficacy of valor for God, as the apostles saved many men by their trust in the Father. Boldness can produce similar fruits in your own life, dear reader.
The First Time is the Hardest
We all start out inexperienced. Unfamiliar works are new to the believer, making the fear especially strong. This is a vital time to trust in God. He sees all things; he is our loving Father; all things are held together by him. Though you cannot foretell what will come by obedience to his will, he knows the good outcome. Pray to him for boldness, while you are certain of his leading, and carry it out before fear and doubt creep in. Act on God's leading. It will bear good fruit, and the fear will weaken.
I want to tell you, I've found that serving God in good works is the most satisfying experience in life.
God is Worthy of Our Trust
The root of fear is lack of faith in God's trustworthiness. Doubting God. But, God is worthy of our trust; he loves us dearly. He upholds every believer with all that is needed to serve him. We need only to trust in him. Strength comes from trust in God. With God's help we can overcome anything.
1 John 3:18-24 "My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us."
1 John 4:16 "And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him."
Closing Prayer
I pray dear reader, that God blesses you with all bravery, boldness, and strength, that you will trust in him, that your relationship with him will forever deepen, that your love in him will increase, and that you will successfully attain unto eternal life.
I pray that all who read any part of this article receive these things, that God's will be in done in the lives of all, and that all men come to love our LORD God. Amen.

It would be quite wrong for any physical training instructor to infer that there is only one way to acquire a good physique. There are many different methods, and not all of them involve the use of barbell and dumbbells. Wrestling, hand balancing, weight lifting, and gymnastics all add greatly to the musculature. It is undisputed, however, that the best methods involve the use of progressive resistance, but within this category, no single routine can truthfully be called "the best".
There is no magic schedule by which rapid gains can be secured or guaranteed with certainty.
Too many bodybuilders are waiting for this one schedule to be divulged. However, it just does not exist. By and large, bodybuilders are willing to do almost anything to accelerate their muscle growth.
Thus it is not recommended to develop training madness as it will not benefit you, especially if you are serious about getting results.
Workouts can be made up of a heavy set of curls, 10 repetitions every half from 9am until 9pm, making a total of 24 all out sets, in order to "shock" your biceps into growing; unfortunately the results are not achieved, meaning it just does not work.
So there is no magic schedule, make up a plan, involve the exercises made up in the super routine, separate body parts you wish to develop, that is, concentrate shoulders, biceps, triceps, delts and traps on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. On Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays cover thighs, back, calves, forearms, abs and biceps. Once you have your magic schedule, make sure you stick to it, the results will come.
The concept of Smartphysicalworkout was developed by Daniel Green who has been involved with the Health and Fitness industry since 1999, providing health and fitness products, services to both the local and online community.

The Future of American Football: How to Run the Spread Offense
  • By Coach Scott

In recent years, one of the major topics debated across college sports is whether a team should run a pro-style or spread offense. There are obviously pros and cons with running each. We’ve seen teams like Baylor and Oregon take the spread to a whole new level and create some of the most dynamic offenses in the history of college football. While critics may argue it doesn’t prepare players adequately for the next level, I think I wouldn’t be alone in saying the spread can provide benefits at the NFL stage. Throughout this article, I’ll break down some of the interdependencies of the spread offense and show how Chip Kelly and other football coaches utilized it to the max.

The Basics
Ultimately, I believe the future of modern football will be heavily impacted by the spread offense. The up-tempo nature of it is loved by players and fans. Rather than the older way of offenses reacting at the line of scrimmage to the defense, it is the other way around. However, this time defenses have a lot less time to adjust. While conditioning is important for a team running the spread, particularly the offensive lineman, it also important to have depth. By running in receivers and backs consistently, guys are able to stay fresh. Another basic point about the spread is the presence of a quarterback that can scramble. You don’t necessarily need Michael Vick, but some mobility would be nice.

null

No-Huddle
While the spread can be run with huddles, I believe it is the most effective when used in a no-huddle situation. The no-huddle emphasizes some of the points above, such as conditioning and making it difficult on the defense. However, it also requires discipline. There are many critical points in reference to the no-huddle. First off, after each play, a player needs to get the ball to the referee immediately to get the ball spotted. The New England Patriots have perfected this at the professional level. Although they don’t have the most mobile quarterback in Tom Brady, he can flat out run a no-huddle offense.

The Origin of the Spread
The spread offense was created by Rusty Russell (pictured to the right), who coached the Fort Worth’s Masonic Home and School football team in 1927. One of the main reasons why he implemented it was due to lack of size of his players. This is one of the reasons why I believe so many teams utilize it. Not every team can recruit all of the most physically-gifted athletes. So, to provide a solution to this problem, they speed the game up. Various other forms of the spread have evolved since Russell’s initial trials. Some of these include TCU coach Leo Meyer in 1952 and Middletown High School coach, Glenn Ellison, with his Run and Shoot Offense. It then began to take shape in the United States in the late 1980s. It quickly spread throughout the college and high school level.

null

Defensive Adjustments
One of the primary ways to combat the speed witnessed in a spread offense is to respond with speed. In the past, football teams have used four or five defensive lineman for traditional sets. However, this isn’t nearly as effective in stopping a spread, because it is simply not fast enough. As a result, coaches have implemented formations, such as 3-3-5 defense. By combatting the spread offense with faster players, all of sudden blocking assignment issues can arise. Further, it is important to have a strong defensive line that can create pressure on a quarterback, despite the lack of rushers. Bringing outside linebackers off the edge can also assist in generating more quarterback hits.
Not only are high school programs implementing these defenses, but many large colleges are as well. Texas Christian and West Virginia are two of the primary ones, as each of the programs has increased their emphasis on speed on the defensive end. Ironically, both of these teams also have been strong proponents of instituting the spread on the offensive side of the ball.

null

Other Forms of the Spread
Although many just refer to the spread as a quarterback in the shotgun position with a plethora of receivers on the field, recent years have seen coaches institute new forms of the spread. Here are some of the more common ones:
1. Air RaidCurrent Oklahoma State football coach, Mike Gundy, has employed and perfected the air raid version of the spread. Gundy sees these wide-open attacks as a way that can not only put up points in a hurry and create wide-open attacks, but also something that can prevent injuries. Gundy praised the offense stating, “We’re spread out. We’re throwing it around and catching it. There’s not as many collisions compared to putting everybody together tight and ramming everybody up in there and being a pile.”

null

2. Spread Option – In a different way than the heavy passing of the air raid offense, the spread option looks to run the ball first. As a result, offensive lineman must possess the ability to pull outside, receivers must be willing to block, and the quarterback should be able to tuck it and run in certain situations. Current Arizona football coach Rich Rodriguez has always been a strong proponent of the spread option and has quickly made it popular across various football levels. A lot of the decision making here rests on the shoulders of the quarterback, who must gauge the defensive end’s movements to either tuck it or pitch it out to the halfback.
3. Pistol – Chris Ault developed this offense during his stay at Nevada. Current NFL star, Colin Kaepernick, ran this offense with a high level of effectiveness while at Nevada. The key behind this is having multiple players that can run the ball. It has a different set-up, as to where the quarterback and running back lines up.

Elite Spread Coaches
Many coaches have achieved success using the spread offense, but for players and coaches looking to use it, they should watch film from Chip Kelly and Art Briles.
Chip Kelly – The revolutionary football coach that made the spread so popular during his stay at Oregon has brought that mentality to the professional level with the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite getting some heat from football analysts for some of his personnel moves with the Eagles, there is no debating the fact that the man can coach football. The NFL has become a pass-happy league, but Kelly took advantage of the spread option offense. The thing that many find so impressive with Kelly is the fact that he always seems to have something new up his sleeve. During his stay in Philadelphia, we have seen the success, but also some stumbling blocks.

null

Art BrilesThe current Baylor coach started tinkering with the spread while serving as a high school coach in Texas. While initially he added part of it into his scheme, it didn’t take long for him to make his spread the offense all the time. While playing behind dynamic quarterbacks such as Robert Griffin III, Briles focused on the fast pace nature of the spread to create havoc amongst the opposing defenses. Former Baylor quarterback Nick Florence said, “We practiced faster than we play and that’s how you’ve got to do it. You get out there and you try to run 90 to 100 plays in practice. When you get in the game, the game actually feels slow.”

The Future
Ultimately, I believe the spread will continue to take over football. In today’s game, players are coming into the college level faster than ever. Coaches need to take advantage of these qualities and use it to pick apart defenses. As evidenced above, there are many ways to utilize the spread. Whether it’s running Gundy’s air-raid attack that may result in 50+ pass attempts a game or Kelly’s spread option that results in one of the most balanced attacks in all of the NFL, coaches are taking note. The exciting thing about the spread is that coaches will continue to tinker with it and add in their own unique twists to add even more differentiation to football.

When the first officer (Officer Calderon) arrived on Behan Street, he noticed the vehicle parked with several occupants inside. As he approached, an adult female exited the vehicle and fled on foot. An adult male then exited from the driver’s seat and fired a shot at Officer Calderon. The suspect/shooter then fled on foot into the mobile home complex as two other suspects exited the vehicle and fled. Additional officers responded to the scene, including several deputies from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department that were in the area. Deputies were able to locate and detain the female that fled from the vehicle. As officers began searching for the suspect/shooter and the other suspects involved, additional shots from the original suspect/shooter were fired toward Ofc Calderon and Officer Calderon returned fire with his handgun. The suspect/shooter continued running through the complex and eventually ran toward a second officer on scene (Officer Jahnke). The suspect/shooter then pointed a gun at Officer Jahnke and Officer Jahnke discharged his firearm, striking the suspect/shooter multiple times. The Rock Almighty Devotional, Praise, and Worship with Russ Taff

Equally Graced and Blessed from CDM

Many of us have grown up automatically believing what the world tells us about gender roles. We’ve come to accept a worldview that tells us that men and women are unequal. However, this is wrong-believing; God’s original plan for both women and men was an equal partnership. Studying His Word in this area bears this out.

When Adam and Eve were created, they were equals, made in God’s image. God blessed them both equally and took delight in a close relationship with both of them. He put them in charge of all creation and told them to rule over it, but He never intended for them to rule over each other.
Sin ruined the perfect relationship between Adam, Eve, and God, and resulted in man dominating woman. From the time that sin entered the garden of Eden until Jesus’ arrival on earth, there was war between the genders, but Jesus ended that war and bridged the gap. He reconciled man back to God, preached peace to them who were far away, and provided access to God through the Spirit. Christ offered God’s love, grace, and forgiveness to men and women.
Jesus reached out to the Samaritan woman at the well, as well as to the woman caught in adultery. He treated the Samaritan woman with as much respect as men were given, and He offered forgiveness to the woman caught in adultery. He healed women, and welcomed them into His ministry. After centuries of inequality, Jesus restored balanced relationships between the genders.
We can’t always tell what’s right by what we see. When we look at relationships between men and women, we notice that many of them were formed according to worldly standards instead of God’s standards. All believers, regardless of who they are, have been made children of God by faith in Christ. Because of the finished works of Jesus, the playing field is now level; all of us are now free to reach the potential God has in mind for us.
Prayer:
Lord, out of love for us, You created men and women in Your image and put them both in charge of creation. When the enemy tried to destroy Your beautiful plan of gender equality, Jesus restored the balance. We can now once again enjoy our relationship with You. Thank You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Christians Are to Live Abundantly

Author Dee Richards

In John 10:10 Jesus is quoted as saying, "... I am come that they might have life and that they might [live] it more abundantly." Many ministers and lay members of the church are afraid to acknowledge this scripture because they feel that it casts a less than favorable light upon themselves and members of their church if they are not all living as abundantly a Jesus professed they ought to live.
The first approach to denigrating the belief in abundance is to suggest that God was not referring to financial well-being, a fine education, quality trade skills, good health, fine relationships and all other things that normal humans would associate with an abundant, quality life. But, in Matthew 7:9-11, God counters that line of thinking with, "... what man is there of you, whom if his son asks [for] bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks [for] a fish, will he give him a serpent? If [Man], being evil, knows how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father in heaven give good things to them [who] ask Him?" This reminds us that even a lowly good man (or woman), given the means, would do as well as s/he is able for loved family, and God is infinitely more loving, able and willing. God was already identified in Ephesian 3:20 as He who "is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we can ask or think, according to the power that works in us". That power (dynamis, G1411, Strong's concordance) referred to here is ability of the Redeemed to apply God's power (of His Faith via His Word) to do mighty works, exhibit astonishing feats of strength, perform miracles, display uncommon virtue, behave with uncanny morality and demonstrate incomparable mental skill and emotional sensitivity. We are also empowered to gain uncommon social influence, power, wealth, and resources with or without armies.
To be even more emphatic about the fullness of the abundance of life that the Redeemed should live, preceding post-resurrection ascension to Heaven, Jesus spoke to a couple disciples as recorded in John 12: 12-14, saying "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And, whatsoever ye shall ask in My Name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in My Name, I will do it."
The above-described messages are very clear to me. If any Believer attempts to tell you otherwise, let them consider acquiring a much stronger dose of belief. Christians are to live abundantly, in fact, more abundantly.

  • Author Mahima Aryal

Nutrition information is everywhere, including in this article via some great tips. Check it out and learn about nutrition. (Continued below..........)

(Continued........) Consume 600-900 mg of garlic, about 1 fresh clove, daily to help lower your cholesterol. There have been many studies where people have used garlic for health reasons. These studies have proven garlic is extremely beneficial in helping to lower total cholesterol, and in particular, LDL, the bad cholesterol and triglycerides.
When it comes to nutrition, we all seem to have trouble doing it properly. Our problem areas vary though and sometimes, we need help identifying these problems. Look at your eating habits and decide which one you pick. Is it the salad or the cheeseburger? The soda or bottled water? The healthy choices are obvious and if you don't pick them as often as you should, that may be your problem.
Oatmeal for business is what you need to begin your day. When you eat oatmeal in the morning it will keep you full.
Avoid using too many condiments if you're trying to eat a healthier diet. Dips, sauces, spreads and dressings may jazz up a meal and taste delicious, but they are often full of fat, salt and calories. Try cutting back on how much dressing you put on your salad and how much mayonnaise you use on your sandwich. Celebrities like Luke Evans also follow the same tips.
To maintain good nutrition it is important to avoid trans-fats. Trans-fats damage the cardiovascular system. Labels can lie about the presence of trans-fats. Look for hydrogenated oils in the ingredients. Hydrogenated soybean oil is a common trans-fat. Foods can claim they do not contain trans-fat even when they do. Companies set the serving size so they can round the number of trans-fats down to zero, but if you eat the whole bag of chips you have still consumed plenty of harmful trans-fats. Be careful, vigilant, and check the ingredients closely.
Smoothies make a tasty and healthy treat. If you'd like to amplify the healthy effects of your next smoothie, give this tip a try. A little bit of omega-3 fatty acids, which are found in flax-seed oil, is a perfect addition to a smoothie or protein shake. This should also improve the flavour of your beverage and boost your immune system.
You might buy ground turkey thinking that it's lower fat, and therefore better for you nutritionally. But you should always read the labels, and ground turkey is no exception. Ground turkey contains both white and dark meat, the latter being high in fat. And ground turkey, though certainly leaner than ground hamburger, is actually higher in fat than ground sirloin.
As you can probably deduce from having read the article and the tips within, it doesn't take a schooled professional to figure out nutrition. If you can focus on the tips you've read here and practice healthy eating, you should have no problem receiving all the nutrition you need to remain strong, vibrant and healthy.

The Myths vs Facts of the Chiropractic World

Author Emily Smith
Unfortunately, chiropractic care is still subject to a certain amount of stigma. So much so, that the myths and facts about this type of medical care have blurred into one. We’re here to help put the most typical rumours to bed and highlight the underlying truth. You just might find that chiropractic care is the best option for relieving your pain.
Common myths about chiropractic care:
• Chiropractors can only relieve back pain.
The correct definition of a chiropractor is "someone who carries out diagnosis and manipulative treatment for the misalignments of joints" – Oxford dictionary. To put it simply, whilst a chiropractor is more than qualified to treat your back and spine, any area of the anatomy that experiences pain can generally be diagnosed and tended to by a chiropractor.
• "What is it? A massage?".
False, again. Although massage therapy is a technique used by chiropractors, it’s often reserved for targeted areas that are tight and cause pain. Intricate procedures such as Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT), Myofascial Release, and Dry Needling are widely used in chiropractic clinics for more severe and life-altering forms of pain.
• Chiropractic care is only available for adults.
Remarkably, many people believe chiropractic care is only an option for adults due to paying this type of care. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, chiropractic care is often advised for children as a safe and effective option to aid their recovery.
True chiropractor facts:
• Overcome the pain.
When you attend an initial consultation, the chiropractor should make it their mission to find and address the cause of the pain. As opposed to only suggesting an option to manage and live with it.
• Bespoke treatments for your needs.
Following on from the previous point, once the chiropractor has been able to diagnose the issue, they’ll be able to decide on the best technique based on your body capabilities, lifestyle, and intensity of pain. Therefore, the chosen technique for you should return the best results.
• Drug-free, organic and non-invasive management.
One of the nicest qualities about chiropractic care is the avoidance of using drug-based medicines and intrusive examinations. Typically, parents prefer chiropractic care for their child instead of relying on non-organic medicines.
• Improves mental health.
Not only do chiropractic treatments improve physical health, but the result of this can help to improve one’s mental health. Whether that’s because a long-term pain has been dragging you down, because you learn how to breathe correctly and adjust posture appropriately, or because your injury has been preventing you from getting involved in sports and activities. The benefits of chiropractic care fail to stop at the physical being.
With chiropractic care not being recognised as an "NHS-worthy" type of care, it’s hard to shake the assumptions. Nevertheless, a little bit of guidance and research are guaranteed to help you better understand this alternative medicine.
