Self-Defense Tips - Escape Is Rule Number One
By: G J Thomas You might think that any
self-defense instructor who tells you to run away from a confrontational
situation as soon as you can is joking, after all, nobody wants to be
seen as a coward. Right? Wrong. Forget what you see and hear in the
movies and on the television. Forget how boxers or cage fighters talk
when promoting a fight. In fact, you can forget every single cowardly
accusation that you have ever heard. Throw them all away right now,
because your priority if you are being attacked is to survive, and if
that means running away then you run away. It's the very first thing you
should think of.
Think about all the victims out there, the
people who have been punched, kicked, assaulted, beaten, stabbed,
hospitalized, or left scarred for life, or disabled, with their lives
changed forever. If they could go back to their individual incidents do
you think they would hesitate to run if they had an escape route? Would
they stick around and take a beating, or would they happily run away to
prevent the damage? The answers are obvious. What about the
unfortunate people who have been killed because of an attack? How many
times do you think the loved ones they left behind have wished for a
different outcome? Being brave, as noble as the concept of bravery might
seem, is often the most foolhardy thing you can be. In fact, when you
consider that society's opinion of somebody who runs from danger is so
ridiculously negative, running away is from a physically threatening
confrontation is not only the smartest thing to do, but it is also very
brave. If you are lucky enough to see an escape route, take it! Human
beings are hard-wired to take flight if we sense trouble, but our
media-based upbringing sends a conflicting message to our brains that
says we should always stand and fight. It tells us to act like men! To
give as good as we get! To take a beating as long as nobody can accuse
us of being "yellow", or call us a "chicken". It's frightening to
consider how many victims of assault could have avoided taking any
damage at all if they had ran away. Self-defense instructors
should always emphasize the importance of looking for an immediate
escape route. It is, by a long way, the most effective way of preventing
injury. Even if you are well trained and very capable, the chances are
high that you will get hurt in some way during any altercation. When
faced with a knife-wielding thug or a group of bat-waving gang members
your instincts should tell you to run first, and your training should
back this up.
Of course, every situation is different, and
sometimes you have no choice but to use techniques you have learned to
disarm and prevent your attacker from hurting you, but in the first
instance try to get the hell out of there. Protecting yourself, and thus
ensuring your survival, comes first, and if you have to run away to
ensure you survive then so be it. Your life is far more important than
what people might think of your so-called "cowardly" actions.
“For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more” (Hebrews 8:12).
Religion still teaches the
law, which says to fear God’s punishment if we fall short or miss the
mark. However, under grace, He chooses to show us mercy, compassion, and
forgiveness.
Things
in this old world aren't getting any better, and in recent times, the
Holy Spirit has been speaking an urgent message to my heart. He's been
saying, Press in. Draw in to a more intimate relationship with your
heavenly Father. If you don't, you won't make it. If you do, you will
see more glorious outpourings of God than you can imagine. That
message isn't just for me. It's also for you—and for every other
believer on the earth today. We are in the last of the last days of this
age. Jesus is coming soon. It's an exciting time, but it's also a
dangerous time. Those who don't do what the Spirit says, who don't press
in to the Lord, are going to go from disaster to disaster. But those
who do will defeat the disasters and turn them into glory, in Jesus'
Name! Your first step in drawing closer to God is to realize that
you know God first in His Word. Time spent meditating in the New
Testament is time spent with Jesus. Most people don't realize
that. So, instead of getting to know the Lord through His Word, they try
to know Him through their feelings and that just won't work. Letting
the Word dominate your thinking is to allow the Holy Spirit to have
control over your mind. As you do that, your feelings will eventually
fall in line. Remember this: John 1 tells us that Jesus is the
Word. That means, when you spend time in it, you're spending time with
Jesus. When His Word is dwelling in you richly, then Jesus is dwelling
in you richly too! Don't go from disaster to disaster. Take those
disasters and turn them into glory, in Jesus' Name. Press in to Jesus.
Press in to the Word and you'll make it through these dangerous days
just fine!
Conventional methods of treating cancer generate approximately $200
billion dollars each year, and that's just in the U.S.! Most of this money goes straight to the manufacturers and a large
majority is generated through the sale and use of chemotherapy drugs. (continued below).......
Chemotherapy is part of the “Big 3” treatment methods promoted by
allopathic medicine: chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery, with millions
of cancer patients using it in some way each year. If you or someone you love decide to go the “chemo route” as part of an
overall cancer treatment protocol, be sure to get the facts. Most
importantly, find out what you can do to detoxify your body right away
once your chemo course is over. After watching this video, go here to learn more about how to detox
after chemotherapy and rebuild your health: http://bit.ly/chemo-detox. Use Your Mind To Heal Cancer
By: Wendy Kramer Your mind is the epicenter of your
body. Your mind is responsible for everything, every movement, even the
act of breathing. How bizarre that we only use ten per cent of it and we
still know so little. It’s like an anatomical black box.
When I
imagine the world in one hundred years’ time I imagine a mind that we
have begun to understand and a world free of cancer. After all, the body
can already heal itself (for example; when you cut yourself) and the
role of the mind in that healing is still quite vague. Could we use our
mind to intentionally heal our bodies? I lost my cousin to
cancer in 2007. We were the same age, she was just 26. Then I lost her
mother a few years after that. Again to cancer. If they were still
around today I would share with them the little information I have
learned about the mind and I would ask them to follow the below ten
steps as part of their daily routine.
In one hundred years,
when we know how to harness our powerful minds, this may turn out to be a
prov-en cancer cure. That or just ten small steps that could have
significantly improved the mindset and general well being of my Aunt and
cousin. 1) Surround yourself with beautiful things. Both to
listen to and to look at. You will harness your mind more easily when
you are relaxed. Beautiful things also make a good distraction from the
disease so watch comedies and laugh… no more dramas and tear jerkers. 2) Get plenty of hugs and if there is no one around then hug yourself. Seriously do it! Massages are good also. 3) Don’t mention the K-word, forget it. K-word because C-word will
still evoke cancerous thoughts. You need purity of thought now. So do
what you have to do (chemo etc) but refrain from talking about it as
much as possible. If you do slip up and mention it, don’t worry. Breathe
out and let it go then find a happy thought to replace it. 4)
While eating, visualize the healthy nutrients and minerals traveling to
your stomach and large intestine. Close your eyes and see them being
absorbed into your blood stream and traveling to the cancerous location.
Their absorption will have a profoundly positive effect on your
healing. 5) Take a deep breath at the end of each meal. Place
your hand over the cancerous part of your body and visualize your hand
drawing the toxins out of your body. Breathe out and visualize those
toxins racing through your blood stream to your lungs and out through
your mouth. 6) Light incense or an oil burner in your bedroom
before you go to bed. Breathe in the scent deeply one time and say out
loud "this scent passes through my body and heals me from the inside
out". Visualize the scent as a golden light moving throughout your body. 7) Listen to a hypnosis CD while you sleep. They work as they bypass
the reasoning part of your brain and talk directly to your subconscious. 8) Start every day on a high note. Carry a photo of one of your great
loves (i.e. your husband, or maybe your cat or dog). Pull out the photo
and look at your great love whenever you are feeling down. 9)
Take a liquid multivitamin at breakfast. Hold up the shot of Vemma, look
at it, and say out loud "This little potion brings me great health". As
you drink visualize the liquid racing down through your body and
washing away the toxins. Any vitamin tablet will do though Vemma in
liquid form will help with the visualization. 10) Have faith. If
I knew then what I know now I could have helped both my cousin and
Aunt. We use ten per cent of our minds and have no real understanding of
its capabilities. You are mind, your body is just the shell, so use
your mind to heal your body. Please pass this on to someone you
love (NB. The above 10 steps have not been medically proven and are by
no means a replacement for medications or therapies prescribed by your
GP) You can buy Vemma at: http://www.dreamfeeder.vemma.com
