Green is good, almost without exception: kale, broccoli, spirulina,
green traffic lights, green thumbs, American currency—well, once upon a
time it was. Green is so good that even vegetarians, vegans, and raw
foodists sometimes have a hard time eating enough of the stuff. So
what’s the solution? Drink green juices. Yes, you’ll be forfeiting some
fiber but think of the nutrients you might not have otherwise consumed.
The following recipe may not be for juicing lightweights, but I’m not
here to detour anyone. By all means, give this green juice a GO!
Power Punch
4 Kale leaves 2 Collard leaves 3 Celery stalks 1 Tomato 1 Carrot, large 1 Apple ½ Anaheim pepper – for the kicker
Makes 3-4 servings. Choose organic when able and serve promptly.
Kale and collard greens are both great sources of vitamins A, C, E, and
K, and are high in manganese, potassium, and calcium. You may be
surprised to know that they also contain all of the essential amino
acids, making them complete protein sources. Kale is also a decent
source of iron.
Anaheim peppers contain capsaicin which has
been shown to boost metabolism and immunity, help stabilize blood sugar,
lower cholesterol, clear congestion, and fight inflammation. Anaheims
also provide significant amounts vitamin C.
Celery, like kale
and collard greens, is a significant source of vitamin C, potassium, and
calcium, as well as magnesium, iron, and essential sodium. Some
benefits of drinking celery juice include: lower total cholesterol and
LDL (bad) cholesterol, replaced electrolytes, helps relieve
constipation, relieves all types of inflammation, can lower blood
pressure over time, and promotes healthy kidney function.
Apples are also a good source of vitamin C and potassium, boasting the benefits listed above.
Carrots, as we know, are tremendous sources of vitamin A—one large
carrot contains 173% of our daily values (1 cup of chopped kale – 206%).
Carrots are also a great source of vitamin K which aids in absorbing
the calcium found in the kale, collard greens, and celery in this drink.
Tomatoes are highest in vitamin C, then A, and potassium. Tomatoes
harvested in the summer have nearly three times the amount of vitamin C
as those picked during winter.
This is definitely a go-getter juice. Get your green on with green juice!

On November 29, 2019, shortly after 9 PM, Modesto Police Officers
responded to the Motel 6 located at 1920 West Orangeburg Avenue in
Northwest Modesto to assist a bail bondsman with taking a wanted subject
into custody. (Continued below..............)
..........The wanted subject was identified as 54-year-old Raymond Lee of Modesto.
Lee had outstanding felony warrants. During the contact at the hotel
room, Lee brandished a weapon towards officers. Two officers fired their
weapons, striking Lee, who died at the scene from his injuries. It was
later discovered that Lee’s weapon was a BB gun.
The officers involved in this shooting have been identified as Officer
Jeffrey Brandon, who has been with the department for three years and
Officer Cameron Irinaga, a one-year veteran of the department.
Both
officers were not injured and have been placed on paid administrative
leave, which is standard procedure for all officer involved shootings.
Three separate and comprehensive investigations are initiated when our
officers are involved in a critical incident such as this. The Modesto
Police Department is conducting both a criminal and administrative
investigation and the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office is
conducting their own independent review of this incident.
“For this is as the waters of
Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no
more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with
thee, nor rebuke thee” (Isaiah 54:9).
God promised to never
destroy the earth by flood again. This was a demonstration of His love
and a foreshadowing of the new covenant that He would establish with His
people—a covenant of grace.

Break Free: Touch of Heaven: From Whom All Blessings Flow (Doxology): I Will Praise You:
We live in a world in which faith is a foreign
concept. Most people only trust what they see and feel in the natural;
if they can’t see it, it’s not real to them. By comparison, believers
live in the supernatural realm in which faith is more real than anything
that is physically tangible. At times when all we have to rely on is
our belief in what God says, that’s actually all we need. Our faith is challenged every day. Sometimes we have to cling tightly
to it like a bulldog refusing to let go of a bone. The world will show
us a scenario that contradicts God’s Word. However, when He tells us
everything will be fine, we must show the same determination that the
Shunammite woman showed when her son died. “And he said, Wherefore
wilt thou go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she
said, It shall be well…Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto
her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with
the child? And she answered, It is well” (2 Kings 4:23, 26). Everything in the natural begins in the supernatural, before being
manifested in ways we can see. Our faith brings it to pass, either good
or bad. When everything around us appears to be going badly and Satan
tells us that’s just the way it is, we need the kind of tenacious faith
the Shunammite woman displayed. When the situation looks gloomy,
trusting enough in God’s Word to boldly declare, “It is well,” turns
things around. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1).
If all we have to rely on is what’s happening in the physical realm,
we would have no hope. Thankfully, we can have faith in something far
more solid and permanent than our constantly-changing external
environment. We can’t always trust in what we see with our physical
eyes. We must instead trust in what we see with our spiritual eyes. “Then
the LORD answered me and said: ‘Write the vision And make it plain on
tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an
appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.
Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not
tarry…But the just shall live by his faith’” (Habakkuk 2:2-4, NKJV). Faith in God’s Word gives us the spiritual vision to see what others
can’t see. It gives us the strength to keep going in tough times.
Trusting in what He tells us strengthens us and enables us to outlast
others who only believe what they see. “He giveth power to the faint;
and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths
shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they
that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up
with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall
walk, and not faint” (Isaiah 40:29-31). When it appears that all is
lost, determinedly standing on our faith empowers us to soar above the
situation and experience miracles. To learn more about faith, click on the link below for the DVD, Living by Faith, Not by Emotions. https://Livingbyfaithnotbyemotions
