Everyone wants the prettiest 3-point shot and the craziest handles on the basketball court, but if you're not in shape, none of that will do you much good come game time. In-season or off-season, conditioning should be a high priority for any hoopster. Naturally, you'll see improvements from running the court at team practices, but the best players put in the extra time on the hardwood and look for any opportunity to better their weak spots.
Team Bodybuilding.com athlete Myree Bowden knows a thing or two about basketball conditioning drills. He used them as a player—which included a stint with the Harlem Globetrotters—and now he uses them as a coach. It's one thing to love the game and have a passion for it, he says, but you need to develop discipline to do the harder work when there isn't a ball in your hands and no one is looking.
"The biggest thing I had to learn growing up and being an athlete is that you're not going to go out and play a game or compete at your tip-top ability if you don't get the repetitions in," Bowden says. "The more good reps you can get in, the more it's going to transfer over into your performance."
It can help to do these drills with a friend or with your whole team, but if you can push through on your own and hold yourself accountable, you're only going to become a better player for it. Don't cheat on the times, the distance, or the effort! Wind sprints and the mile run should be done twice a week with at least two days between repeating them. Your line drills, Super 17s, and defensive drills can be done 3-5 times a week.

Warm-up

Before each workout, warm up with the following dynamic stretching routine. Perform each movement for a full length of a basketball court, or 30 yards:

Aromatherapy for skin care has been in use since ancient times. It is believed that Cleopatra blended several secret perfumes that she used on her skin, both for the purposes of beauty and seduction. Egyptian priests had also observed a surprising connection between plant oils and the healing of skin problems. Plant oils were later used to heal skin wounds, blisters and limit scarring. As you can see, the ancients had laid the foundation of aromatherapy for skin care, long before Gattefossé stumbled upon the healing properties of pure lavender oil.

Organic, natural products are the rage in the market these days. Today, as people become more and more conscious of the need to present a beautiful, flawless face to the world, these age-old skin care processes are becoming popular again. One of the reasons for the popularity of aromatherapy for skin care is that these products are 100% natural. That means, no allergies and no reactions.

Organic essential oils are the main ingredients found in aromatherapy massage oils. These plant oils have a number of different healing properties. Some of them can even be used for internal consumption and are generally very good agents of detoxification.

(Video below) San Diego- On April 3, 2019, at approximately 1:33 p.m., the San Diego Police Department Communications Center received multiple 911 calls regarding gunshots being heard in the area of 190 West Calle Primera. Officers arrived on scene a few minutes later and attempted to contact the man described by the callers, which prompted an officer involved shooting.

 As with any officer-involved shooting occurring in the City of San Diego, the San Diego Police Department Homicide Unit responded to conduct the investigation. The investigation is still in its preliminary stages, but according to civilian eyewitnesses, gunshots were heard in the neighborhood and a male 50 year-old Alfonso Cervantes with an AK47 style rifle was seen walking through the RV Park. The witnesses described the man as acting strangely and appeared to be hiding from someone. Multiple citizens said the man pointed the rifle at them during the initial incident.

Several San Diego Police Officers arrived on scene and established a perimeter as they developed a tactical plan to handle the incident as safely as possible. At one point, the man approached the officers’ location and fired a round from his rifle. The man retreated behind a row of RVs and was again seen a few seconds later, still holding the rifle. An officer gave directions to the man to drop the weapon, but he did not cooperate. According to a witness, the man raised the weapon towards the east – in the direction of the officers – and gunshots were again heard and the man fell to the ground.

 Officers immediately approached and began administering first aid, until being relieved by medics. Unfortunately, the man did not survive and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Thankfully, no other civilians or officers were injured in what could have been a much more tragic incident. A loaded assault-style rifle was found next to the man. One San Diego Police Officer fired his weapon during the incident. Multiple residents also reported that the man had pointed the rifle at them during the initial incident, Police said. The gunfire prompted a brief lockdown at nearby Willow Elementary School.

Howard drops home opener to Bethune-Cookman

Williams record four total touchdownsWashington, D.C. -- A Howard University fourth-quarter interception halted their comeback attempt versus the Bethune-Cookman University (B-CU) Wildcats, dropping their home-opener, 37-29, Saturday afternoon.

 
The Wildcats jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead and scored three first-quarter touchdowns to take a 21-7 lead into the second quarter.

Howard's true freshman quarterback Quinton Williams recorded his first start, recording three passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown. Williams' three passing touchdowns are believed to be the most thrown for a true freshman in his first-ever start.

Williams threw his first touchdown, connecting with Damion Gillespie for a 6-yard pitch and catch.

The Wildcats took the ensuing kickoff 60-yards to the Howard three-yard line, hitting pay dirt four plays later to extend the lead, 21-7.

B-CU added a field-goal with 18-seconds left in regulations to take a 24-7 lead into intermission.

Howard came out of halftime on fire, cutting the lead 21-14 on a seven-play, 80-yard, in three-minutes cemented on a 24-yard touchdown pass to Thomas Vi.

Williams continues to show promise, as he took a naked bootleg around the end for a 12-yard touchdown to cut the lead 24-21.

Bethune-Cookman answered back with a nine-play, 72-yard drive capped off by a Wildcat rushing touchdown to push the lead, 31-21.

After Williams' interception, Bethune-Cookman put the game out of reach with a seven-play, 47-yard touchdown drive extending their lead 39-21.

Howard struck back with a 20-yard touchdown toss to Gillespie and a two-point conversion, brought the score to within one possession.

Howard onside kick failed, and the Bison was not able to stop the Wildcats from running out the clock, cementing the score 37-29.

Howard falls to 1-1 in conference place and 1-4 overall.
