The health benefits of omega-3 and omega-6 oils have been discussed and
argued for years. Ann Louise Gittleman offers some advice in this video
that may go against what you've heard in recent years. Find out why
she recommends omega-6 oils, which kinds and why! How To Cook Salmon: Tips and; Methods
By: Emily Anderson Salmon is a versatile fish for the
reason that there are numerous ways to prepare the fillets. It’s a
healthy protein filled with Omega 3 Fats which have many health
benefits, including enhanced brain function and overall wellness. Salmon
is a flavorsome fish therefore can choose to cook it unseasoned or you
can add a range of spices to add even more flavor. The most common ways
of cooking salmon include baking, pan frying and poaching. Keep reading
for a few helpful tips about how to cook salmon.
To bake the
salmon, put the fillets in a dish which has been sprayed with olive oil
apply or wrap the salmon in foil with various spices i.e. experiment
with different spices and herbs or a squeeze of lemon juice or a hint of
soy sauce. Bake the fish inside a pre-heated oven for about 15-20 min's
or until cooked the way you like (note - cooking times may vary
depending on the size of your fillets). Serve the unseasoned salmon with
mayo or djonaisse as well as a lemon wedge. For seasoned fillets,
there is no need to serve with additional condiments. Serve the salmon
with a mixed green salad for a healthy and also balanced meal. Salmon is tasty pan fried or cooked on the Barbecue. As with the baking
technique, you can pan-fry or BBQ salmon without seasoning or it is
possible to add sea salt & spice up or even a herb crusting. Once
pan-fried, the exterior of the seafood may become crispy, specifically
if you maintain the skin. Spray the fish with extra virgin olive oil
spray or brush it with olive oil just before cooking on a medium-high
heat right up until it is cooked (generally about 4-5 mins on either
side.) Serve the salmon together with your favorite mix of greens or
perhaps vegetables.
The actual healthiest way to cook salmon
would be to poach it. To get this done, fill a medium-sized pot with
around 5 centimeters of water and bring this to the boil. Gently
position the salmon in the water, then reduce the heat to a mild, simmer
where tiny bubbles seem round the fish. Cook for about eight minutes,
or before the trout becomes opaque. It is possible to flavor the liquid
to give the trout additional flavor. Attempt poaching the trout in a
some chicken or even vegetable stock, or even in milk using a bay leaf
plus some peppercorns. Poached salmon is actually fantastic flaked or
cut and used in eating salads, sandwiches and also stirred in pasta. Regardless how you choose to cook your fish or the seasonings you add
(or don’t), once you know how to cook salmon, you can incorporate this
particular delightfully flavorsome seafood in your family members diet
on a regular basis. Click the link for more great tips such as how to cook salmon and click the next link for lots of delicious seafood recipes including ideas for Cooking Salmon ideas.

Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters announced that no charges
would be filed against the officer in the September 11th
officer-involved shooting in Avondale. A plainclothes Cincinnati Police
Officer was working undercover in Avondale in an unmarked vehicle at
approximately 12:15 p.m. when he saw a man, now known as Vernell S.
Jackson (DOB 03/06/1999), pull a gun out of his pocket and move it to
his waistband. The undercover officer radioed for a uniformed officer to
assist. Cincinnati Police Officer Marc Schildmeyer responded in uniform
in a marked police cruiser. Both the undercover officer and Officer
Schildmeyer pulled up near Jackson in the area of Blair Court and
Ridgeway Avenue. Officer Schildmeyer exited his cruiser and ordered
Jackson three times to show his hands. Jackson was standing sideways to the officer with his right side towards
the officer. Jackson had a loaded gun in his left waistband. Rather
than show his hands as ordered, Jackson pulled a gun from his left
waistband and raised it as he turned towards Officer Schildmeyer.
Officer Schildmeyer fired once, striking Jackson in the chest. Officer
Schildmeyer immediately began lifesaving measures on Jackson until
paramedics arrived. Jackson was transported to University of Cincinnati
Medical Center where he underwent surgery and, at last check, remains in
critical but stable condition. Jackson’s loaded Hi-Point .380
semiautomatic handgun was recovered at the scene. Jackson now faces
Carrying a Concealed Weapon (F4) and Aggravated Menacing (M1) charges.
Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters commented, “We have another
Cincinnati Police Officer to be commended for the manner in which he
handled a dangerous situation. Jackson, armed with a loaded gun, was
ready to shoot. Because of Officer Schildmeyer’s quick response and
training, we are here today not talking about an officer shot in the
line of duty or the shooting of innocent bystanders. Officer
Schildmeyer’s cruiser and body-worn camera footage shows Jackson raising
his gun towards the officer. Officer Schildmeyer was 100% justified in
shooting Jackson. He likely saved his own life as well as the lives of
others. As I said before, he is to be commended.” Prosecutor Deters also
expresses his appreciation to Cincinnati Police Chief Eliot K. Isaac
and his staff for their cooperation in this investigation and assistance
in the matter. Donate to PoliceActivity: https://www.patreon.com/PoliceActivity

When we consider all the jobs the world considers
important, many moms and dads put parenting at the top of the list.
Being a parent can be one of the most difficult—and
rewarding—responsibilities we could ever have. It’s sobering to consider
how much influence we have on our children, and how quickly time passes
when we’re instilling values we want them to have for the rest of their
lives. Thankfully, we don’t have to do this on our own; God is
available to help any time we ask. The world has plenty of child-rearing advice, but not all of it will
give us the results we want. Wading through all the “dos” and “don’ts”
can be confusing if we try to follow guidelines that seem to change
every few years. However, raising children according to God’s Word gives
them what they need to find the right path in life. “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). One of the things we must learn is that sometimes it’s okay to say
“no.” This word can be unpopular in some parenting circles, but we’ve
all seen the unfortunate results of children who were raised by
overly-permissive parents. When we have godly wisdom in this area, we
can avoid being like the mother of Zebedee’s children, who took it upon
herself to command Jesus to let her sons sit at God’s right hand and His
left hand (Matthew 20:20-28). There’s a fine line between helping and
hindering our children.
Letting them learn to make their own decisions is another way to
incorporate godly wisdom in family matters. Being a helicopter parent
may be our way of trying to control all aspects of our child’s
environment to ensure their safety, but fear is the motivator behind
this trait. As our kids grow, loving them enough to teach them
decision-making skills requires a refusal to allow our fears to cause us
to jump in and make their decisions for them. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). Having a sound mind includes self-control on our part. Making life too easy for our kids is something else we must guard
against; this can take away their will to do things for themselves.
There’s a difference between a child who is unable to do something yet,
and one who’s unwilling to even try. It’s okay if they make a mistake;
that’s part of learning something new. When they flounder at first, we
should never worry about what others think of our parenting skills. “The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe” (Proverbs 29:25). We can’t be successful parents without God’s guidance. The good news
is that He loves our children even more than we do; we can certainly
trust Him for their well-being and development. We’re all weak in one
area or another, but God gives us the grace to get the job done. “…My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness…”
(2 Corinthians 12:9, NLT). None of us are perfect, but when we rely on
Him to come alongside us as we raise our kids, we’ll succeed.

The veteran coach serves as the team’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Acosta has been involved in coaching at various levels, from high
school to the NFL, for 19 years. Recently, he spent the 2014 and 2015
seasons at Syracuse before moving on to Cornell in 2015. At Syracuse in
2015, he served as the Orange’s wide receiver coach and recruiting
coordinator, where he helped attract 18 three-star recruits and five
players ranked among the top 50 at their positions in the country,
according to 247 sports. Before his stint at Syracuse, Acosta spent one year as head coach at
Widener (2013) and five seasons as assistant coach at TCNJ (2008-12),
the last four as offensive coordinator. That came on the heels of two
seasons as the tight ends coach at Delaware, where he helped the Blue
Hens reach the 2007 FCS National Championship game and assisted in the
development of future Super Bowl winning quarterback Joe Flacco.
Acosta served as head coach at both Marlboro HS (2002-04) and
Monmouth Regional HS (2006-07), sandwiched around three years as wide
receivers coach at TCNJ. He began his coaching career at Rowan
(1999-2001) as the team’s defensive backs and special teams coach. In
addition, he spent the 2008 (Cleveland Browns) and 2010 (New York Jets)
NFL preseason in coaching internships. In his one season as head coach at Widener, the Pride went 6-4 and
averaged 439.7 yards and 31.8 points per game. At TCNJ, his offense set
school records for passing yards (2,491) and completions (269) in a
season in 2012. During the 2009 campaign, the offense scored the most
points in a single-season in program history (309), as well as yards in a
game (708 vs. FDU-Florham). Acosta played four seasons at Rowan, helping the team to the Stagg
Bowl, the Division III national championship game, each year. He
graduated in 2000 with a degree in health and exercise science. Book this course.....

The 20-Minute, No-Weight, Full-Body Workout
Want
to get a killer full-body workout without having to hit the gym? All
you need is a plyo box and a little creativity to work every muscle
group in just 20 minutes.
The sun is out, and even though you love working hard in
the gym—or maybe you don't love it and want to escape—warm weather is a
great excuse to mix up your training and take your workout outside.
Plus, if you have the chance to soak up a bit of sun, why not take
advantage of the extra vitamin D? This workout will take just 20 minutes to complete, and you won't
need anything but a single plyo box. If you do happen to have a few
boxes available, you can incorporate different heights to modify some
movements and challenge yourself even more. You can also do the workout
using a bench, a chair, or a couple of stairs. Just make sure the
surface you choose is sturdy enough to jump on. This is a total-body AMRAP workout, so you'll complete as many rounds
as possible in 20 minutes. Rest as little as possible between sets and
reps. Modify any exercises as needed for your current fitness level.
Box jumps are a great all-around leg exercise and double as a killer conditioning
tool. If you're new to box jumps, start with a height that's
comfortable enough to jump up on for multiple reps yet still challenges
you.
Try to land softly on both feet simultaneously, making sure your full
foot is on the box and your heel is not hanging off. Step or jump back
down, and repeat for the remaining repetitions. For an added challenge,
try to string together your jumps without pausing at the bottom.
Decline Push-Up with Double Knee Touch
Decline push-ups are a great bodyweight exercise for working your
upper chest and shoulders together outside of the gym. As with the
incline press, elevating your feet changes the angle of the movement.
Get into position by placing your feet on the box with your hands on the
ground underneath your chest and your body in a plank position. Inhale as you lower your chest into the push-up, pause, then exhale
as you push back up. At the top position, bring one knee toward your
elbow on the same side as you keep your core tight. Repeat with the
other knee. This counts as one repetition. Repeat the entire sequence
for the remaining number of reps.
Squat Step-Over
Side steps and deep squats work every muscle in the legs, including
your inner and outer thighs, which makes this lower-body combo a great
move for a quick workout. Stand to the side of the box and lower into a
deep squat. As you come up, step over the box sideways and immediately
perform another squat on the other side. Repeat, stepping over the box
again to end up back on the first side. Repeat this sequence, focusing
on good form while aiming for speed.
Pike Shoulder Touch
The pike shoulder touch is a great way to work on shoulder strength for handstands and develop shoulder stability
using only body weight. Place your feet on the plyo box with your hands
on the ground and walk your hands back so that you form an upside-down
L, with your hips stacked over your shoulders and hands. Keep your core
tight and your arms straight as you push through your shoulders. Lift
one hand up and touch your shoulder on the same side, then repeat on the
other side, alternating shoulder touches for the remaining number of
reps.
Single-Leg Jump-Up
This plyometric drill requires core strength, explosive power, and
balance. It's a great way to work on jump training and an excellent
addition to your plyometric workout. Place one foot on the plyo box and
your other leg in front of you in a split squat position. Keep your
spine neutral and your abs engaged to prevent your lower back from
arching, and make sure your front knee is behind your toe.
Use your arms for momentum and drive your front knee up toward your
chest with maximum explosiveness, keeping your back leg on the plyo box
as you jump. If you struggle to stay upright, start with both feet on
the ground first and work on developing better hip and quad flexibility.
Land softly, keeping your body upright and your core engaged. Repeat
for the remaining reps on that side before switching feet.
V-Up Tuck Combo
Lie on your back and engage your abs by imagining pressing your
bellybutton into the floor. Straighten your arms over your head and lift
your shoulder blades and legs slightly off the floor in a hollow-body
position. Tuck your knees toward your chest as you reach your arms forward.
From this tucked position, raise both legs and arms together as you
straighten your knees and reach your hands toward your feet, ending in a
V-up position. Try to get your knees as straight as possible. That's
one rep. Lower back to the starting position and repeat.
Use this routine as a quick, full-body workout anytime you need to
mix up your training. If you want more plyometrics, check out this full-body HIIT workout for more fast and fun training outside the gym. Superfoods For Weight Loss By: Jim Ramontja
There are two main categories of
foods that are considered superfoods for weight loss because they will
make you feel full without hoarding on the calories. The foods are
fruits and vegetables. Fiber is the nutrient that makes them potent
weight loss agents. If fresh fruit and vegetables are the superfoods for
weight loss, their fiber may well be the weight loss super nutrient. Protein is another powerful nutrient that is becoming accepted for
curbing appetite. Protein fuels your body and can slightly rave up your
metabolism in the process. However, it's important to select your
proteins keenly, because like all foods, if you are consuming more than
your body requires, it will record up on the scale as an increase,
instead of a loss. The following superfoods for weight loss are smart, less-calorie options that will help your weight loss efforts: Green Tea Researchers think that the important phytochemicals in green tea known
as catechins can trigger weight loss by exciting the body to flash
calories and moderately decrease body fat. Besides, green tea contains
antioxidants that lower body fat and calories. So form a habit of
indulging in either a little tall iced green tea or a hot cup of green
tea twice or thrice a day. Broth For Weight Loss Bone
broth is a superfood that has been enjoyed for centuries by generations.
It is prepared by simmering bones from either beef, chicken, fish, or
turkey in a crock pot for hours or even days. A little of apple cider
vinegar is added to leach out vitamins, nutrients, and minerals from the
bones. Broth can help reduce hunger before meals and increase your
feeling of fullness. Besides, some of the nutrients and vitamins it has
promote weight loss. Water Water is your body's fuel,
and you must be taking it throughout the day. It lacks calories, and you
can get it every day by drinking unsweetened tea, mineral water,
regular water with lemon just to mention a few. Apart from helping to
detoxify your body, water can also make you feel full. When hunger pangs
strike, always remember to drink a glass of water before grabbing that
snack. Brown Rice Brown rice has massive amounts of
fiber, protein, less saturated fats and cholesterol. It stays in the
stomach longer and will make you not feel hungry. Besides, brown rice
contains resistant starch that promotes weight loss by boosting your
metabolism and burning fat faster. Whole Grain Cereal In
general, whole grains help in boosting fiber as well as the nutritional
value of your food. Having a bowl of fiber-rich whole grain cereal is
among the easiest ways to add a whole grain boost to your diet. Low-Calorie Green Salads
Having a low-calorie salad - that without high-fat dressings, cheese
and croutons- as a first course will make you feel full, thus
controlling how you eat with your main course. Choose your ingredients
wisely- which means they must have a high fiber content- to help you
fight cravings during the day. Avocado Avocado is rich
in fiber, proteins, and fats that are helpful in reducing excess body
fat. Moreover, it contains oleic acid that produces monounsaturated fats
well known for fighting hunger. You can melt away lots of unwanted body
fat by consuming this fruit often in your meals. Fish Fish is lean and loaded with proteins that keep hunger at bay. For
instance, including salmon in your low-fat diet will help you burn fats
and maintain a considerable diet. Beans Beans have
protein and fiber that will help you feel fuller for longer hours. In
plain language, this means that they may work wonders to curb your
appetite between meals. Yoghurt Adding dairy products to
your health diet plan may promote weight loss efforts. Drinking yogurt
will help you fight off hunger pangs because of its carbohydrate and
protein combination. Flax Seeds Flax seeds contain a lot
of fiber that helps promote weight loss by slowing gastric emptying to
enhance nutrient absorption. Besides, the fiber and omega three fats
will help you keep hunger pangs under control. Flax seed supplements can
be sprinkled on salads, soups or food before eating. Oats Oats promote weight loss by boosting your metabolism and also burning
fats quickly. The fiber it contains will help you fight hunger all day
even if consumed in adequate amounts. Nuts Nuts are
superfoods that are full of healthy fatty acids that suppress hunger
hormones and help burn belly fat. They also contain saturated fats that
can help you shed those unwanted pounds within no time without exercise
or having a close eye on your calorie intake. Blueberries Blueberries are high in fiber which controls hunger pangs for extended
periods. They also have antioxidants that help melt away fat. Eggs Eating eggs for breakfast will help you reduce weight, burn calories
and fat. However, you should avoid taking the yolk since it contains
high cholesterol and fat that might jeopardize your efforts. Studies
show that the cholesterol that is present in eggs is not harmful to the
body and doesn't pose a hazard to your health. Furthermore, they are
rich in protein, take your metabolism to the next level and help you
feel fuller than most foods. Brocolli Broccoli is a
veggie that is packed with phytonutrients, proteins and vitamins that
help in shedding weight. You can find more than enough fiber in a small
amount of broccoli to help you melt away extra body fat. Watermelon Watermelon contains powerful antioxidants that make it a potent superfood for weight loss. It contains vitamin C, A, and water. Apples Apples are healthy foods that are low in calories and high in
phytonutrients that aid in weight loss. They also contain fiber and
antioxidants that help you shed weight, boost your immune system and
maintain good health. Mushrooms Mushrooms taste just like meat but contain fewer calories. Drinking a cup helps reduce weight by burning fats in the body. You can make your weight loss trip a lot smoother and achieve your
goals by watching what you eat. Include these superfoods for weight loss
in your diet and your weight loss campaign will be a more delightful
experience.

On July 15, 2017 officers from the Auburn, Kent, Renton, and Tukwila
police departments joined forces - and then joined forces once again
with the King County Sheriff's Office Air Support Unit - in a crackdown
on illegal street racing in Washington State.
The crackdown was primarily intended to curb 'side effects' of the
street races, which included stabbings, fights, shooting, collisions and
damage to local businesses.
By the end of the night officers made dozens of arrests, including 40
people arrested for attending an illegal street race, three for the
actual racing itself, one for minor in possession of drugs, and one for
an outstanding warrant. One stolen vehicle was recovered and a second
stolen vehicle fled but was not found.

Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou
mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant
commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that
thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.
Joshua 1:7
Living
a life of faith takes courage. Most people don’t realize it, but it
does! It takes courage to stand up in the face of sickness and declare
you’re healed by the stripes of Jesus. It takes courage to believe for
prosperity and put your last dime in the offering plate when poverty is
staring you in the face. There are going to be some days when you’d
rather pull the covers over your head and hide than take another faith
stand against the devil. But you can’t. Because the battle of faith
isn’t fought once and then forgotten. If you want to keep living in
victory, you have to fight it again and again. There’s no way
around it. Of course, some of God’s people still try to find one. The
Israelites, for example, thought their battles should be over when they
crossed the Red Sea. So when they heard reports of giants living in the
Promised Land, they decided they couldn’t face the fight. Their courage
failed them. So they took a 40-year detour through the wilderness. But
you know what? They still couldn’t avoid that fight. When the time came
for the next generation to enter the Promised Land, the giants were
still there! This time, however, they found the courage to face
them. Where did they find it? In the Word of God. Their leader, Joshua,
had obeyed the instruction of the Lord and kept that Word on his mind
and in his heart day and night. He’d meditated on it and let it
constantly remind him that God was on their side. If you’re going
to fight the good fight of faith to the finish, you’ll have to do just
like Joshua did. You’ll have to continually draw courage from the Word
of God. So make up your mind to do it. Get into that Word and let it
change you from a coward to an overcomer. Then march into battle and
slay the giants in your land.
