6 Things You're Doing To Kill Your Metabolism - And How To Change It
by Team Beast
Do you go through your day
wondering what you are doing to kill your metabolism? Probably not,
right? Well, maybe you should. There are a number of things you could be
doing that are causing your weight gain or lack of weight loss results.
In this article, we are going to talk about six common things that
could be causing you to kill your metabolism each day without you even
realizing it. 1. Not getting enough sleep Not getting a good night’s sleep is enough to kill your metabolism.
Combine that with several days in a row (or more) due to a poor sleep
routine and you royally put yourself in a gigantic hole. Lack of sleep
can decrease your energy levels, causing you to feel sluggish the next
day. In addition, a lack of quality sleep can cause hormonal imbalances
and negatively affect your health. If you want to combat this issue, I highly suggest you get seven
hours of sleep (at a minimum) each night. If you don’t currently, look
at your routine and make some changes. Going to bed each night at the
same time and setting your alarm to wake you up at the same time is a
great strategy to allow you to get enough sleep. 2. Not managing your stress levels Not every day is full of sunny skies and pretty rainbows.
Unfortunately, we live in a world plagued by bad news and negativity. We
also are surrounded by the hustle and bustle of life and work. But you
can’t let that stress you out. You need to find ways to manage your
stress levels or it will eventually kill your metabolism as well as your
mood.
When you are stressed, your body produced a hormone called cortisol.
When cortisol levels in the body increase, it can cause many different
reactions such as disrupting your sleep patterns (which goes back to
#1), decreases your energy levels, and causes an increase in appetite
which can lead you to end up in a caloric surplus each day. Over time,
that can make you gain weight and create potential health issues. Your best bet is to find something that helps you relax and manage
your stress levels. This can be anything from exercise, to meditation,
to going to a place that puts you in a good mood such as the beach or a
relaxing room in your house where you can go to unwind, read a book, or
focus on your breathing. 3. Not eating enough protein Your body needs protein to help build and maintain lean muscle mass.
Without it, you could be losing muscle which can kill your metabolism.
The more muscle mass you have, the faster your metabolism since muscle
needs fuel in order to function. This also means that the more muscle mass you have, the more calories
you will burn – even at rest. Protein will help provide your muscles
with the amino acids necessary to recover from intense bouts of exercise
and allow your muscle fibers to rebuild stronger and bigger
(hypertrophy). Additionally, consuming a diet high in protein will help
you feel satiated longer and help prevent you from overeating. Try to get around 1g of protein per pound of body weight each day.
This will supply your body with the quality protein needed to support
your muscles and keep you feeling fuller. Whole foods are always your
best option but if you are in need of more protein to meet your daily
requirements, consider adding something like a protein powder into the
fold where you can mix it with your favorite beverage (water is ideal)
to increase your protein intake. 4. Skipping the weights Not utilizing weight training in your workout routine can absolutely
kill your metabolism. As mentioned in #3, protein helps build lean
muscle mass and the more lean muscle mass you have, the faster your
metabolism is. In order to build muscle, you are going to need to
include some sort of resistance training in your workouts to break down
muscle fibers and allow them the opportunity to grow back bigger and
stronger. Weight training is also a fantastic way to burn calories. Each week you should include a minimum of two days where you exercise
with weights. These should be full-body workouts if you only utilize a
2-day per week routine. Otherwise, additional days (3-5 days) of weight
training can allow you to hit specific muscle groups rather than
completing full-body workouts each time you step into the gym or
complete a home workout. 5. Not drinking enough water Our body is made up of primarily water. Drinking water not only
allows for proper hydration which aids in every bodily function, but it
also increases your metabolic rate by as much as 30%. Increase your
water intake, increase your metabolism. Seems easy enough, right? Well,
it is. If you want to support and not kill your metabolism, make it an
effort to sip water throughout the day. The easiest way to do this is to
keep a water bottle on you at all times. Sip it throughout the day and
when you finish the bottle, grab another one or refill the one you just
finished. You can even consider other options such as green tea (without
sugar) and even black coffee to help take in additional water. 6. Sitting too much during the day If I were to guess, you probably sit most of your day. You sit in
your car on your commute to and from work. You sit in your chair at your
desk. You sit in meetings. You sit for meals. You sit in front of the
television at night. That’s a lot of time with your butt in a seat.
Unfortunately, that much time seated can kill your metabolism. All this
time slows your metabolism which can wreak havoc on your blood pressure,
blood sugar, and the body’s ability to break down and properly utilize
body fat. To combat this, take breaks throughout the day to stand and move
around. Make it a point to schedule time to exercise each day, even if
only for 30 minutes such as a walk during your lunch break. The bottom
line is, you need to move MORE each and every day. Find an excuse to get
off your butt and not sit.

What is cancer
By: Godfrey Philander
There are rather a small amount of
manifestations of malignant tumors - Chronic Myeloproliferative Disorder
and Soft Tissue Sarcoma and Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor (GIST) and
Hodgkin Lymphoma - just to name a small amount of examples. But, all of
these types of cancer have certain things in common.
Loss of Control
Each
person cell in your body is regulated by hormones like Thyroxine and
Secretin from outside the cell and a good deal of other chemical
regulators inside the cells. These substances will control the actions
of the cell. Each tell the cells when to develop and how much, how
active they should be and how Each interact with other cells.
Cancer
cells have those controls shut off. They do their own thing without
limit. They are reliably active at the greatest or most complete or best
possible level. These malignant cells also lose their control of
interacting with their neighboring cells and then can mobilize and go to
other parts of the body.
Changes in DNA
All malignant
tumors have lost their controls because the DNA in the cell has been
damaged. DNA is the programming mechanism inside the cell that
determines all of its functions. That DNA is damaged by being broken,
radiation or chemicals. The DNA will start to act with no rhyme or
reason. Viruses are also known to cause the DNA damage that can lead to
cancer.
Damaged DNA can also come from your parents. That DNA
might commence the path to a cancerous tumor whether or not there is
either a good deal of trigger that the cell contacts or farther damage
to that DNA.
Immortal Cells
Your cells usually will live a
sure amount of time and then die (with a small amount of exceptions).
They’ll then be substituted by new healthy cells. Malignant cells don't
usually die. Even when they are extremely unnatural, they keep on
dividing. So, those cells develop tumors and spread.
If someone
comes to recognise when it comes to any detrimental disease like cancer,
he wants to determine a method. And there is no method available on a
humane level. So then he thinks of God and wants to come nearer to God.
The fear brings him closer to God. He depends on God more than on his
rationality, than on his ego, or superego. And he wants to depend on
God's powers to heal him or to save him from this destruction. - Nirmala
Srivastava
Types of Cancer
The a good deal of cancers can
be coordinated into five first types. Those are Central nervous
strategy cancers, Leukemia, Carcinoma, Sarcoma as well as Lymphoma and
Myeloma.
Central nervous strategy cancers - these are cancer
tumors that commence in the brain and spinal cord. Leukemia - these
cancers commence in the tissues that develop blood - such as the bone
marrow - and then release the cells into the blood. Carcinoma - these
are cancers that commence in the skin or the tissues that line internal
organs. Sarcoma - Sarcomas are cancer tumors that commence in connective
tissue. Connective tissue is the tissue among the organs and other
structures. Those tissues include things like fat, bone, muscle, blood
vessels and cartilage. Lymphoma and myeloma - these cancers commence in
the cells that usually protect the body - the immune strategy.
Now
that you recognise what a cancer is, you can learn in what manner to
perhaps prevent it, or whether or not needed in what manner to treat it.

specialist co-ops to identify suspicious activity in and around your

surveillance cameras by cutting links, tossing rocks at them or
notwithstanding covering the focal point with dark shower paint. The
accompanying tips can enable you "to carefully tamper-proof" your
cameras:
Mount them high: Placing your cameras around nine
feet off the ground will make it increasingly troublesome for intruders
to contact them or hit them with a tossed article. Merely ensure that
there are no stepping stools or different things outside that could

Keep
them covered up: There are numerous ways you can hide your cameras with
the goal that interlopers won't almost certainly observe them — place

Most of us can remember the childhood “happily ever
after” fairy tales we were told about handsome princes and beautiful
princesses. When we grew up and began to experience the world, however,
we may have found that sometimes things don’t work out the way we
expected. We may have decided that we were somehow insufficient or
inadequate without another person beside us. This is wrong-thinking;
thankfully, there is someone who loves us very much and wants to be a
part of our lives.
God accepts us just as we are, and He wants us to be happy whether or
not we’re in a relationship with another person. He wants us to succeed
in everything we do, and doesn’t like to see us struggling to meet
someone else’s unrealistic expectations. When we feel weak, God
strengthens us and turns our shortcomings into sufficiency. “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness…” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
The world sees things backwards; it has a way of making us feel as if
there’s something wrong with us because of the season in life in which
we find ourselves. We never have to feel ashamed of our marital status;
that doesn’t matter to God. Jesus hated shame so much that He went to
the cross to defeat it. “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher
of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the
cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the
throne of God. For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners
against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls” (Hebrews 12:2, 3, NKJV). When we feel discouraged, Jesus offers us hope and encouragement.
God knows far more than we do, and He can see things in the future
that are hidden from us. He knows what’s in our hearts and in our minds.
Trusting God in our relationships allows Him to intervene by putting
godly people into our lives who need to be there. “For I know the
thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and
not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11, NKJV). Believing this gives us peace of mind about our future while enjoying our present.
Peace of mind and contentment aren’t found in another person, but
only in God. Everyone has imperfections and flaws; thinking that someone
else can give us what only He can will only lead to disappointment.
It’s also a mistake to think happiness depends on marital status, or on
any other external circumstance. Trusting God as our source of
contentment empowers us to endure situations we may not necessarily
like, because we know they can change at any time. “Not that I am
implying that I was in any personal want, for I have learned how to be
content (satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or disquieted)
in whatever state I am. I know how to be abased and live humbly in
straitened circumstances, and I know also how to enjoy plenty and live
in abundance. I have learned in any and all circumstances the secret of
facing every situation, whether well-fed or going hungry, having a
sufficiency and enough to spare or going without and being in want” (Philippians 4:11, 12, AMPC).
There’s no need to stress out about the dating scene. God will work everything out perfectly. All we need to do is trust Him.
WASHINGTON (June 26, 2019) –
First-year head
coach Kenneth Blakeney and the Howard University men’s basketball team
heads to Europe for a Summer Tour in Spain this August. The tour runs
August 9-18 in Barcelona and Valencia, featuring
team-bonding activities throughout the trip while playing three
competitive contests.
“I love
that our student-athletes have this chance to represent Howard
University on a global stage in Spain,” said Blakeney. “This trip will
be a great educational, cultural, team and basketball
experience that our guys will remember for the rest of their lives.”
The tour
begins in Barcelona, home of the 1992 Summer Olympics Games where the
world witnessed arguably one of the greatest men’s basketball teams
assembled, the U.S. Dream Team.
During
the team’s visit in Barcelona, they will take a tour of the famous Camp
Nou Stadium, home of FC Barcelona, followed by a bike tour through the
city and cruise on the Mediterranean Sea. Howard
wraps up its stay with a pair of games and a tour of the Temple
Expiatori de la Sagrada FamÃlia, a large unfinished Roman Catholic
church in Barcelona, built in 1882.
“This
trip will give us an opportunity to bond [as a team],” Blakeney
continued. “We'll also get to see how we compete before we start
practice in the fall.”
Midway
through the tour, Coach Blakeney’s squad journeys to Valencia where the
city is known for its arts and sciences, with futuristic structures
including a planetarium, an oceanarium and an
interactive museum.
In Valencia, the Bison will play its final contest while building chemistry through activities like a team scavenger hunt.
“It’s
such a unique experience that will provide great momentum towards the
improvement of our program,” Blakeney added. “No matter how much you
train or practice, you really don't know about a
team until you see it in game competition.”
Through the NCAA Bylaws, Howard may begin training for Spain as early as Tuesday, July 30.
All questions concerning access to the tour should be directed to Keith Coutreyer (keith.coutreyer@howard.edu).
