DOCTOR REPORTS NEUTRAL & CLOSED STANCE LINKED TO TENNIS INJURIES

Recent finding and reports from chiropractic doctors specializing in tennis medicine has revealed the damaging effects of using neutral and closed stances versus open stance. The results being discovered in these reports have been astounding!
Here is one doctor's opinion on the subject in an interview with Oscar Wegner, Founder of Modern Tennis Methodology:
"From a chiropractic perspective, the neutral stance is an inferior way of hitting groundstrokes.
For a right-handed player, when he braces to hit a forehand by placing his right leg behind his left leg while shifting his body weight from his back leg to his front bent knee, the fatigue of repetition or an extreme stretch is likely to subluxate (slip slightly out of joint) the right sacro-iliac joint causing a series of normal but painful bio-mechanical compensations.
In a typical situation, one can expect the right ilium to shift posterior, the right hamstring to tighten, the fifth lumbar vertebrae to rotate, and the paravertebral and gluteal muscles on the right side to spasm.
In due time, the player may expect a right hamstring pull, lower back pain, and possible involvement of the lumbo-sacral plexus on the left side of the pelvis with radiating nerve pain into the left leg.
Additionally, the continual transference of weight to a bent front knee, especially when placing the knee into a deep bend or when the front foot is not directly in line with the force vectors generated by the forehand swing, is likely to cause knee pain and eventual knee injury.
Again, imagine doing this for about 100 times in the course of an hour, or 100 times in an hour of tennis. No wonder so few adults are still playing tennis. Tennis is a wonderful game and should provide a lifetime of fun when played with bio-mechanical correctness. My most serious advice is: listen to Oscar."

iHealthTube Featuring: Why Low-Fat is So Destructive! And Understanding What Makes Up A Healthy Snacks List By Josef Bichler

What do we really know about fat in our diet? That seems to change quite often. Dr. Anna Cabeca discusses the importance of fats and which kinds of fats we should get in our diet and why it's so important. She also discusses why going low fat did so much damage to our overall health! [Video and more below]

Understanding What Makes Up A Healthy Snacks List
By Josef Bichler
Each of us is looking for new ways through which we can do more for our body in terms of health and that is why it's only natural that we would like to consider eating as healthy as possible. If you're curious about some of the foods that are considered healthy and you would like to incorporate them in your daily lifestyle, then below you will find a list of healthy snacks that will help you clear the mystery. Let's take a closer look at them and see how healthy they really are.

Go Nuts

Nuts are certainly a snack that will always make it on any healthy snacks list. Many people are actually in love with the way almonds taste and that is why they will eat them as often as possible. If you also like them or never had any before, you should know they are actually packed with healthy fat and protein which helps you a lot with warding off hunger. There are also many studies around it that say eating them will severely reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes and many other similar and dangerous diseases.

However, because this snack is rather delicious, you will maybe forget about how many you would eat and that is why it's a good idea that you'll only eat in small portions that you keep a very close eye on. For instance, including a pack of one hundred calories on your healthy snacks list, you can know exactly how many of them you eat, so this will help you a lot with staying in good health, while not overeating and getting results you're not actually aiming at.

Fresh Fruit

The good news is that fruits are available at very low prices and they come in many kinds, so they can easily be included in your healthy snacks list. Nowadays you are not only limited to oranges, apples, bananas and so forth, but you can also buy lychee, blueberries, dragon fruits, kiwis and other types of exotics fruits that will keep your health in check. All fruits contain minimum levels of fat, are filling and very nutritional.

For instance, if you decide to eat an apple or maybe a pear that have a medium size, your body will be "injected" with 60 calories. However, you might enjoy strawberries more and having 1 cup of them, they will contain 10 calories less, stacking up at 50. If you'll choose to eat blueberries in the same amount as the strawberries, they will contain only 40 calories, which is great.

If you want to experiment, you could cut many types of fruits together and make a salad out of them. It's not recommended to add any whipped cream or so, because it becomes an unhealthy snack. Just enjoy the fruit with no extra ingredients and you'll be impressed of the way they taste.

Fresh Salads

Fresh vegetables are positively one of the best snacks you can add to your healthy snacks list and in general people will consider having them as salads, but they may also eat them raw. You may go for a small cucumber or 2 and have them with a bit of salad, but you may also make a salad of tomatoes, onion, cucumber, peppers and spinach and it will contain a lot of vitamins, protein and iron to fuel your body with healthy nutrients.

With that being said, if you're looking for a healthy snacks list, then this is the one you should consider. Enjoy the new change in diet.

David Hulme: Power Plays
By: David Hulme

In defining what is currently central in politics, it’s become commonplace to repeat a 1992 slogan used in the Clinton-Gore campaign: "It’s the economy, stupid!" Created by political strategist James Carville to keep campaign workers focused, the phrase has resurfaced in the run-up to the next U.S. presidential election as "It’s still the economy, stupid!"

But is it? Would it not be more accurate to say the central issue in so many human problems is the selfish desire for power? Harvard professor Joseph Nye Jr. writes that power is "the ability to achieve one’s purposes or goals." Sounds harmless enough. But, he continues, "the dictionary tells us that it is the ability to do things and to control others." And that’s where the difficulty so often arises. If what lies behind the purposes, goals and desire to control others is not right and good, human beings can do unspeakable evil to each other.

The "power play" is something we’re all subject to, we all dislike and, at one time or another, we all try to perpetrate. It begins when we struggle with parents and peers over childhood space, possessions and attention. We demonstrate our "strength" however we can to get what we want. While not everyone becomes the spiteful little girl or the schoolyard bully, we all push others out of the way to get our way. As we grow more sophisticated, we learn what it takes to manipulate our parents to achieve our goals, often playing one against the other.

This pattern of behavior soon gets translated into the adult world, where power plays are all too familiar. While offensive war is perhaps the ultimate form, there are many more subtle varieties that we might not readily think of. For example, the adage that knowledge is power underlies our willingness to gossip and slander. Here an ancient Hebrew maxim could teach us a thing or two. It said that spreading lies about others, ruining their reputations, was like taking their life away (Leviticus 19:16).

Vision.org features several articles that reference abuse of power, power plays, manipulation, and wrongful control of others. The insidiousness of these aspects of human nature becomes very apparent across time. Surprisingly or not, many of them are linked with religion.

In a piece on the pharaoh of the Exodus, we explain the power play that the ancient ruler engaged in as he stubbornly refused to let the Hebrews go. The confrontation between the human god and the God of Israel brought terrible results for the Egyptian and his people.

In "The Gospels for the 21st Century," we continue with the developing struggle between the Pharisees and Jesus of Nazareth. They had said, "If we let Him alone like this, everyone will believe in Him, and then the Romans will come and take away both our place and nation" (John 11:48). Now the confrontation was coming to a head.

Part Two of "The Most Dangerous Book" focuses on the battle to publish the Bible in English. In its desperate attempt to preserve power over people’s knowledge, the Roman Catholic Church saw to it that those who gave their all to this effort were burned as heretics. That same church was to suffer as Henry VIII turned the tables and curtailed its dominant role in English life, exerting his kingly power in pursuit of a divorce and a male heir.

Finally, it would be difficult to deny that all the worst aspects of the human desire for power over others are involved in the tortuous history of Jerusalem. In Part Two of "City of Faiths," we examine the Palestinian perspective.

Despite the problems that the drive for human power has caused across human history, there yet remains a power for good that will triumph. The spirit of God is the spirit "of power and of love and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7). It’s the spirit of rightly used power for the good of others.
