Adapted from the resource Battlefield of the Mind Devotional - by Joyce MeyerMoses made excuses when God called him to service. He said he wasn’t eloquent enough and could not speak (see Exodus 4:10).
Felix made excuses when Paul was speaking to him about righteousness and self-control. He essentially said, “Right now is an inconvenient time. Can you come back later?” (see Acts 24:25).
When God invites people into relationship with Him, many people come up with excuses when the truth is they simply don’t want to make the sacrifices required to follow Him. Even among those who are believers in Jesus, we still hear ample excuses for not serving Him fully.
It is time to deal with excuses and start speaking truth. There is one truth none of us will be able to avoid: The day will come when every person will stand before God and give an account of his or her life (see Romans 14:12 On that day there will be no excuses!
Prayer Starter:Prayer Starter: Father, I want to love and serve You wholeheartedly without making excuses. Draw me closer to You and help me to step out into all that You have for my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Let Peace Rule

Colossians 3:15, The Amplified Bible

Have you been praying that God will let you know whether a certain action you want to take is agreeable to His will or not? Let this peace of Christ be your guide. Let it help you settle the issue. If you start to take that action and you realize you don't have peace about it, don't do it.
Remember, though, that this inner leading of the Holy Spirit, this subtle sense of uneasiness or peace He gives you, is something you have to watch and listen for carefully. He generally won't just come up and knock you out of bed one morning and tell you what you need to do. The primary way He speaks to you is by what the Bible calls an inward witness.
So, you have to listen. You can't just stay busy about the things of the world all the time. You have to give Him time and attention.
Also, watch out for strife. If you're irritated and upset about things in your life, it will be very hard to receive that quiet guidance from the Holy Spirit. So take heed to the instructions at the end of this scripture and "be thankful... appreciative, giving praise to God always." Maintain a thankful, grateful heart. You'll find it much easier to hear the "umpire of peace" when He makes a call.

I am so proud of my Fit and Fabulous at 47 online client Jen! I guess the best word to describe her Hitch Fit Bikini Model Plan transformation is WOW! Jen has been following Hitch Fit for several years after seeing her friend Stacie achieve amazing results with us. In 2018, she decided it was time to commit and get in the best shape of her life. Well, she crushed it!! Surpassing her goals and showing what is possible. So ladies who are over 40 and think that change can’t be made. Think again!! It can. And you can literally get in the best shape of your life after 40. Jen cut her body fat in half during her 16 week plan (from 31% to 15%!) and lost nearly 30 pounds. She also became a runner, something she didn’t think would happen! Way to go Jen!! What an inspiration!!

Jen’s Before and After Fit over 40 Stats:
Starting weight: 139.5
Ending weight: 110
Starting body fat: 31%
Ending body fat: 15.7%
Inches lost on Hips: 6.25
Inches lost on Waist: 4.5

Jen’s Story and Hitch Fit Online Personal Training Review:

“For the past couple of years I had an activity almost every night of the week (tennis, pilates, pickleball) and then I got tennis elbow and my tennis went from 4 days/week to zero.  So now I had all this free time and knew it was finally time to take the plunge.  A friend, Stacie, had completed a Hitch Fit program 5 years ago with amazing (like “shredded” amazing) results, and ever since I’ve read the success story emails and contemplated signing up.  I was finally ready, had the time, out of excuses, and mentally ready to commit 100%.  I signed up for the 16 week bikini model program and began my journey in July.

Throughout my program I didn’t cheat nutrition – if I was going to get up at 5am to go running before work I wasn’t going to sabotage myself.  Did I just say running?!?  I was not a runner before this program – I was the person who always said “I wish I liked running because I love to be outdoors”.  I admit it was a very gradual process of walk/run for a few weeks (run every cul-de-sac, run if its downhill, run if its not uphill) before I was able to run a few miles without stopping, giving myself little pep talks along the way. But in just 4 months I can now run 7 miles!  Never in a million years did I think I’d be able to say that!
Preparation was key for me. Yes it takes a little time to get your food prep done but so much easier to pack a cooler and know you’re staying on track with nutrition, then trying to decide which fast food place has the healthiest option.  I did this for work, going out of town for the weekend, and even just shopping and running errands for a few hours.  My weekly weigh in/measurement day was on a Tuesday and knowing I was only a couple days away from seeing results of my hard work for the week helped keep me motivated through the weekend.
Each week I emailed Diana my progress and she was always quick to respond with positive feedback and answer all my questions (and I had a handful every week)!  I’ve learned so much through this process and realize that it doesn’t take hours every day in a gym to get results – its a combination of consistency in nutrition and workouts.  This process did take hard work and dedication but it also proved excellent results for this 47 year old!  Highly recommend to anyone that is serious about transforming to a healthier lifestyle.” Keep reading......

iHealthTube Featuring: Examples of Cannabis Role in Treating Cancer

As cannabis is becoming more common in the country for medicinal purposes, Dr. William Eidelman shares a couple of success stories for the treatment. He also explains how cancer treatment should ideally change from what it is now to making natural treatments the first option, for the most part. [Video and more below]

Harry J. Anslinger and the Campaign against Marijuana
By: Sam Qam

Cannabis is the most commonly used illegal drug in the world. Despite its current legal status it only became criminalised within the last century, before which it was both a regularly used recreational drug as well as a medically prescribed drug for dealing with a wide range of ailments from glaucoma to cancer and multiple sclerosis. So if merely a century ago Marijuana was a widely used and medically acknowledged drug how did it manage to reach the criminalised status that it now holds?

In America the criminalisation of cannabis began as a relatively slow and understated process with certain states outlawing its use starting in the District of Columbia in 1906. A couple of states followed this example and outlawed the use of cannabis throughout the 1910s and 20s but it wasn't until the 1930's that the criminalization of cannabis became a major issue.

The reason that cannabis became such a huge issue was the launch of a massive smear campaign against marijuana lead by Harry J Anslinger from 1930 to 1937. Harry J Anslinger started his career as the Assistant Prohibition Commissioner in the Bureau of Prohibition before he was promoted to the position of Commissioner in the newly created Federal Bureau of Narcotics in 1930. Anslinger held this position for 32 years, but it is his campaign against marijuana, which dominated the first 7 years of his tenure, that he is most widely remembered for.

Anslinger made heavy use of the mass media in order to spread his anti-cannabis message. Anslinger notoriously fabricated a number of stories tenuously linked to police reports that he published in his "Gore File" and used to turn the public against the drug and gain backing for its criminalisation. Among the accusations he levied were "There are 100,000 total marijuana smokers in the US, and most are Negroes, Hispanics, Filipinos and entertainers. Their Satanic music, jazz and swing, result from marijuana usage. This marijuana causes white women to seek sexual relations with Negroes, entertainers and any others."; "Reefer makes darkies think they're as good as white men."; "You smoke a joint and you're likely to kill your brother." These accusations were designed to pray on the worries that many American's had about the number of immigrants entering the country.

A more interesting point relating to this is that Anslinger wanted the growth of all marijuana plants outlawed; including those that yield no intoxicating chemicals and can only be used to produce the extremely versatile textile hemp and cannabis oil which can form a cheap and effective base for fuels, paints and plastics. Anslinger and his primary supporter, William Randolph Hearst, both had considerable interest in the petrochemical industry and it has been suggested that the anti-cannabis campaign was primarily designed to eliminate hemp as a competitor.

No matter the reasons it is clear that Harry J Anslinger and his anti-cannabis activism played an enormous role in the national criminalisation of the drug, something which is still strongly debated to this day.

Your Guide to Moving Overseas
By: Nick 1ipl

Prepare for the Move in Advance

You should prepare for your move overseas far in advance. Why? Moving can be quite an adventure when your belongings must travel by automobile, plane and possibly ship! Everything from what you pack to how you pack it must be carefully planned out beforehand. Consider the handling of your belongings and what they will be exposed to during the move - temperature changes, moisture, movement, etc.

Also, determine what you should pack and what to leave out before the move. Your items might be in transport for several weeks before arriving at your new home. Anything you need during that time should be kept out. If you will be traveling by plane, check with the airline to find out what you can and cannot carry with you as personal luggage. There are usually weight restrictions for this.

Moving Assistance

Choose your movers carefully. Cost should not be the only determining factor. If possible, get recommendations from others who have experienced a similar move. Or, research several companies online and through the Better Business Bureau to find a reliable company. Your items will be in their hands, so it's important to choose a reliable mover who understands the process of moving to a foreign land well.

Here are some questions to ask the movers before signing a moving contract.
  1. Do you provide insurance, and what is covered?
  2. What types of vehicles are used during the moving process?
  3. Will you handle custom forms, or will that be my responsibility?
  4. Are there moving or cargo restrictions in the country where I am moving?
  5. Will my electrical appliances be compatible with the outlets there?
  6. Does your charge cover everything, even port charges and quarantine clearances (if applicable)?
  7. Will my belongings be stored anywhere during the moving process if not shipped or delivered immediately?
  8. Can you provide references?
  9. Will I need to pack my items, or do you provide packing services?
  10. Can I transport my pets?
  11. Can I transport my vehicle(s)?
  12. Are there restrictions as to what can be transported into the country (i.e. medicines, chemicals, food products, weapons, etc.)?
  13. What shipping methods will be used - sea freight or air freight?
  14. How long is the moving process from start to finish?
Breaking Old Ties and Forming New Ones

As you prepare for your move, be sure to contact every company necessary to let them know you are moving to a foreign country. You'll need to cancel memberships, subscriptions, turn off utilities and phone, cancel insurance if not available where you will live. Don't forget to let your local Post Office know you will be moving as well, and ask about forwarding your mail if possible. If you are unable to get the mail forwarded to a foreign country, you might have it forwarded to a friend or relative nearby and have them mail it to you.

While breaking ties where you live, you also need to form new ones where you will be moving. If renting, make sure all utilities will be turned on when you arrive. If buying a home, find out from your realtor how and where to set up utilities, phone, television, online connections, etc. You'll want to time this with your arrival time so you won't get stuck in your new home without power, water, heat or air.

Finances

One area that can be confusing when moving to a new land is finances. You might have various banking accounts including savings, checking, IRAs, bonds, etc. These will all have to be transferred if available where you are going or cancelled and your money withdrawn from the bank. Either way, there will be currency differences. Find a reliable banking solution before arriving at your new home. You might be able to transfer your money to the new bank before arriving so you won't have to carry lots of cash with you. Find out all you can about the currency and banking before you go.

Establish Citizenship

You'll need to establish citizenship for you and your family as soon as possible, so don't wait to do this. Find out from your local government what will be required of you - vaccinations, forms, identification, Visas, etc.

Health Issues

If you have medical conditions which require prescription medications or follow-up visits, talk with your doctor and pharmacist about the move to find out what you should do. If you can locate a doctor in advance where you will be moving, it might make matters easier. Find out if you can transfer your medical records to a doctor there.

If you feel your teen is depressed because of the move, don't be too proud to seek counseling. It's important that they overcome depression quickly - even before the move.

With careful preparation, your move overseas can be a pleasant one. Use the tips above to stay organized during your move.
When moving overseas, expect to do much planning. Besides the normal adjustments and preparation of moving domestically, there are other things to consider when moving to a foreign land.

Finding Your Destiny

Adapted from the resource New Day, New You - by Joyce MeyerWe wonder, What am I to do with my life? What is my purpose here? Does God have a calling on my life?
God answers these questions through our natural gifts and abilities. He leads us to our purpose through the natural skills and unique talents He bestows upon us. God-given gifts are the skills a person easily performs without formal training. We derive great pleasure from doing what we are naturally good at doing.
If you aren't sure of your purpose, just do what you are good at doing, and then watch God confirm you by blessing your endeavors. Don't spend your life trying to do what you are not gifted to do. I tried to grow a garden and can tomatoes and sew my husband's clothes. I wasn't at all good at any of these things, and I even despised trying!
It was obvious that God wasn't calling me to grow and preserve vegetables or to sew. But what if no one enjoyed gardening or canning or making clothes? God keeps our world in balance by giving each of us natural talent and pleasure in doing what needs to be done for the good of everyone around us.
We know we are operating in our gifts and calling when what we do ministers life to others. If what we do makes us miserable and fills us with a sense of dread, it's possible we are not in God's perfect will. God gives us peace and joy to let us know we are fulfilling His perfect plan.
I encourage you to look at what you enjoy, what you're good at, and what God is giving you the grace to do—and then let God be God in your life. He wants to flow through you in many different ways, but it may not be the same way He flows through others. Trust His ability in and through you, and don't be afraid to be unique.
Prayer Starter: Father, thank You for the special gifts and abilities You have given me. Help me to stay focused on what You have called me to do and use my gifts to bless the word around me. Help me to be myself—the unique person You created me to be. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Creflo Dollar Featuring: Why Did God Let This Happen? on Your World with Creflo and PEACE, SAFETY, AND SECURITY

Why Did God Let This Happen? [Video below]

PEACE, SAFETY, AND SECURITY

Deep inside us, we all have a basic psychological need to feel safe and secure in our surroundings. Looking around us, it’s obvious we live in a very unsafe, dangerous world. Any lack of safety we perceive in our environment can block us from the peace of mind everyone seeks. However, a source of safety that’s stronger than any natural rock and can never be breached is available to us; His name is Jesus.
It’s only natural to feel frightened and insecure when we see the strife going on around us. Trusting in our own resources always leaves chinks in our armor. Trusting in God for our safety supersedes the natural realm and activates a supernatural level of protection. “The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower” (Psalm 18:2). Regardless of what’s happening, God’s promise to shield us from evil will never fail us.
There’s nothing wrong with taking precautions to ensure our safety and that of our loved ones. God doesn’t want us in harm’s way. When all else fails, however, He wants us to know that no power in the universe is strong enough to overcome His Word concerning our security. “May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels” (Psalm 122:7, NIV). This is His will for us.
One of the names Jesus is known by is the Prince of Peace. He knows exactly what we’re going through every day and what we’re feeling from moment to moment. He reassures us during our darkest times. “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27). When trouble threatens us, Christ is bigger, stronger, and more powerful.
The simplicity of what God says to us concerning our protection in Him is difficult for many people to believe. We may have a tendency to try to complicate His promise. His Word directly contradicts the world’s message that our security is strictly up to us, and us alone. “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” (Isaiah 26:3, NLT). Whether or not we understand it logically, something about trusting God instead of ourselves for our safety brings us a peace of mind we can’t explain.
We fix our minds on Him by constantly studying our Bibles and reflecting on what we learn. If we focus on danger and uncertainty, our emotions can be moved like the ground during an earthquake. Focusing on God calms us and gives us stability, even during tough times. We will not be moved from our safe place when we trust in Him. “Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock” (Isaiah 26:4, NLT).
The world lives in fear because it doesn’t have Jesus; getting born again and making Him our Lord and Savior takes away any reason to fear. We can rest from our anxieties and worries when we rely on God for our safety. “I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety” (Psalm 4:8). He’s simply waiting for an invitation to bring us peace. What will your decision be?
