Police fitness test - can you keep up? on US Sports Network




These Armed Forces PFT Programs will get you prepared for the PFT test. There are also running programs for either the 2 mile test or the 3 mile test. Click on the links below and ask your coach to get the running program!

Throughout the length of these programs, the manipulation of the sets and repetitions for each exercise will be based on periodization concepts that involve changing the intensity and the volume of the workouts.

The starting point of the program is based on an initial fitness level. With feedback, the actual progression of the program will follow the body's unique adaptation process to exercise. Fine tune the program to include all the exercises that feel the best!

This is an example of the police fitness test for PC recruits (otherwise known as the bleep test). The candidate is required to run from one end of the 15 metre area to the other in time with the bleep. As the test progresses, the bleeps sound quicker. The Tennis Programs are designed for the person who loves tennis! Whether the goal is simply to get in better shape and reduce injury risk, or to compete at a high level on the court, these programs will get results. All Tennis Programs take into account the specific movements and physical demands required in the game of tennis.
In the constant quest to provide quality workouts there are always variations within each one of the major program goals. These variations are dependent upon how much equipment is available, and how aggressivly training will be.
The "Gym Oriented Tennis Program" requires the use of a fully equipped gym but will help to achieve fitness goals more quickly and in many instances will give the the best performance increases in the game!
The "Dumbbell Oriented Tennis Program" can be done just about anywhere! It is an excellent program for those who want quality physical development and wish to train in the privacy of the home. Training with dumbbells requires more balance and control to perform the required exercises. It also enhances functional strength development for injury prevention.
The "Competitive Tennis Program" was designed with the serious athlete in mind! This workout includes full body Olympic training along with more advanced plyometric exercises for explosive power. Bowling Finishes 8th at Virginia Union Invitational

RICHMOND, Va. – Bowie State University women’s bowling competed in the Virginia Union Invitational over the weekend (11/3-5), finishes in 8th place overall out of the 10 team field. The Bulldogs recorded a 3-7 record, totaled 6,671 pins and averaged 135.2.



Bowie State junior Diamond Carter (Buffalo, N.Y.) led all bowlers with an average of 208.60 which included a high-game of 245. Senior Chantell Farlow (Columbia, Md.) ranked second in team average (132.80) while sophomore Bre’Ana Jones (Odenton, Md.) ranked third for the Bulldogs with a 131.40 average. Junior NaVaughn Barnes (Clarksburg, Md.) averaged 121.80 followed by sophomore Nachelle Daniels (District Heights, Md.) with an average of 94.00.

The Bulldogs recorded a 2-3 record on day one of competition, opening Baker System Scoring with a 712-695 setback to New Jersey City University. Bowie State rebounded in matches two and three, defeating conference foes Virginia State (629-613) and Chowan (712-503). Duquesne and Mount Aloysius defeated Bowie State in Friday’s (11/3) final matches by scores of 853-629 and 858-653.

Saturday’s (11/4) Traditional Scoring matches were tough for Bowie State as the Bulldogs began the day with back-to-back losses to St. Peter’s (959-662) and host Virginia Union (814-665). Bowie State picked up a win against Elizabeth City State in match three, winning by a pin count of 732-630. Coppin State edged Bowie State (723-711) and the Virginia State Trojans took down the Bulldogs 800-673 in Saturday’s final contest.

Bowie State closed out Sunday’s (11/5) Baker Scoring matches with a 1-2 record. The Bulldogs fell to Virginia State’s Trojans (935-853) and New Jersey City (846-829) and squeezed in a win in the middle of the two losses, topping Elizabeth City State (805-754).

Duquesne finished first overall (9,453) followed by St. Peter’s in second (8,647), Mount Aloysius was third (8,407), Virginia Union finished fourth (7,748) and Coppin State rounded out the top five (7,531). New Jersey City placed 6th overall (7,356), Virginia State was 7th (7,148) and Bowie State finished 8th overall. Elizabeth City ended the weekend in 9th place (6,204) and Chowan rounded out the field in 10th place (6,063).

The Bulldogs return to competition November 10-12 at CIAA North/South Event #1 hosted by Fayetteville State University.

General Fitness Programs are designed for overall health and the achievement of a leaner, stronger body. Choose between the standard General Fitness Programs or the Dumbbell Oriented General Fitness Programs. The Balanced Dumbbell GF EXPRESS Programs offer a shorter workout for those busier times when you simply can't spend as much time in the gym. They are also great for those who physically respond better to a program with less overall volume.

Throughout the length of the General Fitness programs, the manipulation of the sets and repetitions for each exercise will be based on periodization concepts that involve changing the intensity and the volume of the workout.




Be sure to consult a doctor before engaging in any exercise or fitness program.

As with all of the programs, the starting point of the workout is based on an initial fitness level. With feedback, the actual progression of the program will follow the body's unique adaptation process to exercise.
