Beware of this cancer hazard in most milk

If Cows Could Talk. . .
     They’d T
ell You to Steer Clear of
     Bovine Growth Hormones!

Yes ma’am, Brown Bessie & all her gal pals are just sick about what’s being added to their milk – literally!
The problems started in 1993 when the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the use of recombinant bovine growth hormone (rBGH) to increase milk production. Farmers inject rBGH into cows biweekly to induce them to produce more milk than they normally would.
According to the American Cancer Society, Canada, the European Union and some other countries have not jumped on the bandwagon. You won’t be surprised when you learn what this stuff is and what it does. . .
Continued below…

The 8-Ingredient Recipe for Radically Improved health
How would you like to trade your body for a healthier, more youthful one?
By doing just ONE thing differently, you can...
Heal your diseases... banish aches and pains... sleep like a baby... and restore your youthful energy...
Age backwards... put an end to grey hair... improve your vision... and reduce wrinkles—without cosmetic dermatologists, eye doctors, plastic surgeons, and hair colorists…
Lose weight... improve muscle tone and skin elasticity... and recover your youthful physique.
Click here to claim your FREE REPORT and discover this amazing little-known secret—and radically transform your health.

This hormone is genetically engineered, which ought to make you suspicious right away. It’s manufactured by Monsanto and is sometimes called Bovine Somatotropin (rBST). It is similar, though not identical, to a hormone that cows naturally produce - another factor that should make you suspicious. The difference between "similar" and "identical" is all the difference in the world.
Unnaturally high levels of this hormone boost milk production… but as you may have guessed, rBGH causes a number of problems with the milk, including:
  • Increased levels of pus
  • Residues of antibiotics
  • Higher levels of a hormone called Insulin Growth Factor-1 (IGF-1)
Each of these consequences is cause for alarm, but the production of the hormone IGF-1 is especially troubling.
This hormone is directly responsible for increasing milk production. According to some Monsanto studies, using rBGH raises IGF-1 levels about five times above normal levels.
IGF-1 is a naturally-occurring hormone that’s found in both cow’s milk and human milk. Its purpose is to help cells grow. It’s responsible in part for the quick growth of infants in both species.
But here’s the difference…
The IGF-1 hormone in humans is usually bound to protein and thus has a weaker effect than unbound IGF-1 in milk. And please note, IGF-1 is NOT destroyed in the pasteurization process nor during human digestion and is therefore biologically active in humans.
So when young children, adolescents and adults drink cow's milk — it’s likely that IGF-1 behaves as a cancer-accelerator! The substance encourages cell division in your body. Healthy cells divide and then are signaled by their genes and hormones when it’s time to STOP dividing.
After a certain amount of time (or cell divisions), healthy cells are actually instructed to die—that is, undergo programmed cell death (apoptosis)—to make room for new cells.
If something throws this process out of whack and prevents programmed cell death from occurring, it can cause cells to grow out of control.
Uncontrolled cell growth is more or less another way of saying cancer (it is characteristic of some other diseases, too, but it’s the defining feature of cancer). So it’s no surprise to find that studies have linked excess IGF-1 to cancers of the breast, colon and prostate.
But aside from causing cancer in us humans, this unnatural chemical intervention inflicts some damage on the cows that can pose additional health problems for humans…
You won’t want this ‘secret ingredient’
in your milk!
Whenever rBGH is used to rev up milk production, the cows tend to become more susceptible to udder infections classified as mastitis.
A mastitis infection can increase the amount of cow’s pus which ends up in milk. Monsanto has admitted that their study data show a whopping 79 percent increase in mastitis in cows injected with rBGH.
This, in turn, causes a 19 percent increase in the amounts of pus and bacteria in milk.
Monsanto even admits this on the warning label for their Posilac drug (their brand name for rBGH). Besides the increased possibility of pus and bacteria in your milk, the label also states:
“…use of POSILAC may result in an increase in digestive disorders such as indigestion, bloat, and diarrhea.... Studies indicated that cows injected with POSILAC had increased numbers of enlarged hocks and lesions (e.g., lacerations, enlargements, calluses) of the knee...and...of the foot region.”
I don’t know about you, but I don’t find it appetizing to think about — much less drink — pus-contaminated milk from sick cows. But you might be wondering if there’s something that can be done to help the cows heal so that no pus winds up in milk.
Well there IS, but it happens to be…
Antibiotics that DON’T do a body good!
Cows suffering from mastitis are treated with antibiotics to help eliminate the infections. But this only increases your chances of having antibiotic residues present in your milk. The American Cancer Society and other defenders of rBGH insist that any such residues will not pose a significant risk to human health. But a quick scan of today’s health headlines will tell you that a different scenario is more likely: Increased antibiotic use in food animals may contribute to the development of more strains of antibiotic resistant bacteria.
This, in turn, can lead to an increase in human infections that are difficult to treat.
So what can you do if you’re concerned about excess hormones and other nasty ingredients creeping into your milk supply? Well, some folks opt for purchasing organic and sustainably produced milk.
Still others have switched to using almond and rice milks.
I’ve nearly eliminated milk products from my own diet. On the rare occasions when I have milk, I make sure it’s produced without rBGH, other hormones, or antibiotics.
I urge you to do the same. These steps can go a long way toward protecting you from ingesting excess hormones and the health nightmares that can result!

Lady Bulldogs Softball Dominates Lincoln Lady Lions 13-1 and 15-6

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – The Bowie State University softball team breezed to 13-1 and 15-6 wins over the Lady Lions of The Lincoln University on Saturday afternoon. With the sweep, the Lady Bulldogs move their season record to 6-21, 5-9 in CIAA play and 2-7 in the North.

Junior Erica Atkins (Burtonsville, Md.) paced BSU with three hits while junior teammates Cassandra Clayborne (Damascus, Md.) and Hayley Flint (Mesa, Ariz.) and senior Adria Lewis (Cumberland, Md.) added a pair of hits each for the Lady Bulldogs.

The BSU Lady Bulldogs pounced on the Lady Lions from the opening pitch, scoring eight runs in the 1st inning on no hits. In fact, the first nine Bowie State players to step to the plate walked.

Bowie State padded their lead to 11-0 on two hit second inning with the senior pitcher Mariela Hernandez (Del Rio, Texas) getting the first Lady Bulldogs hit. Junior Erica Atkins (Burtonsville, Md.) accounted the BSU’s second hit of the inning.

The lone Lady Lions run in game one came in the bottom of the 3rd inning on an Emily Woodruff (San Diego, Calif.) single up the middle, scoring Makeda White (Aberdeen, Md.).

The Lady Bulldogs closed out the opening contest via the eight-run mercy rule in the bottom of the 5th inning. Following back-to-back walks, Atkins stroked a single to center which scored senior Adria Lewis (Cumberland, Md.). Bowie State’s Hernandez crossed the dish by way of a wild pitch to account for the final run of game one.

Hernandez (5-9) picked up the win in the circle, striking out four and freshman Stefanie Ray (Damascus, Md.) paced the Lady Bulldogs with a pair of hits.

Game two began pretty much like one with seven of the first nine Bowie State batters getting a free pass via a walk by Lincoln’s Sead.  After just one inning, Sead was pulled with the Lady Lions trailing 10-0.

The Lady Lions were able to push one run across in the bottom of the 1st inning following an Avree Morton (Uniondale, N.Y.) single that scored Woodruff.

The Lady Bulldogs increased their lead to 12-1 before the Lady Lions scored three in the bottom of the 3rd inning. The trio of Woodruff, Morton and Toni Smith (Bear, Del.) recorded triples in the inning.

Bowie State answered with three runs of their own in the top of the 4th inning to put the game out of reach at 15-4.

Back-to-back doubles by Morton and Smith assisted in the Lady Lions final runs of game two.  Lincoln tallied 10 hits in the second game of the doubleheader but committed three errors.  Sead (0-11) took the loss in the circle for Lincoln, walking 10 of 14 batters faced.

Lincoln (0-12, 0-10 CIAA, 0-5 North) was led at the plate by Morton and Smith three and two hits respectively.

Megan Windsor earned her second win of the season, striking out five. Freshman Victoria Lizardo (Baltimore, Md.) and junior Kiara Washington (Bowie, Md.) recorded four and three RBI respectively in game two.

The Lady Bulldogs will be right back in action on Sunday (4/6) hosting New York Institution of Technology in a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 1 pm at Lady Bulldogs Field.

The Wonder Herb for Cancer, Alzheimer’s, and Stress

Harness the Strength of a
Stallion Against Cancer,
Alzheimer's, and Stress

This ancient herb is known in Sanskrit as "the smell of a horse." That doesn't sound very attractive (to me, anyway). But it's one of the most life-giving herbs in Ayurveda, the traditional medicine of India. Maybe you don't need the smell of a horse, but sometimes the strength of a horse is just what you need.
Ashwaghanda is legendary for its ability to give stallion-like vigor and strength, as well as tame stress, protect your brain, fight cancer, and more. And it has the medical community abuzz, with studies cropping up everywhere. One of them showed a 92 percent reduction in the number of cancer tumors, so you want to keep reading…

Hidden Constipation Syndrome –
Have You Got It?
A recent study reports that more than half of patients – 62 percent – have colons plugged up with layers of filthy, decayed fecal matter. . .
. . .even though 80 percent had bowel movements every day without straining!
Colon autopsies show it and now studies have proven it. Even if you have a regular, daily bowel movement, you may possibly have pounds of hardened, toxic, bacteria-laden waste matter stuck in your intestines!
Breakthrough study results from the prestigious Department of Organ Surgery and Gastroenterological Clinic in Elsinore, Denmark, reveal that millions of people unknowingly have these large “fecal reservoirs” – which back up your entire colon and rectum.
And no synthetic laxatives or enemas can get this toxic, rotting mess out of you!
Click here for a FREE REPORT on how you
can get rid of this deadly threat to your health and well being.

Ashwaghada is a promising alternative treatment for degenerative diseases like Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and more. It's on a search and destroy mission against the free radicals implicated in aging and many diseases.
Stress really does kill people
Most people live with multiple sources of chronic stress. Emotional stressors at work and home can be more than just emotionally draining. They can ruin your physical health, too. Even if the stress happened a long time ago you may still carry emotional scars.
If you compound unremitting, long-term stress with environmental toxins and poor nutrition, you have a disease just waiting to happen.
Stress can cause the oxidative breakdown of lipids (fats), through a process in which free radicals "steal" electrons from the lipids in cell membranes, causing cell damage. Stress also depletes the body of critical nutrients you need for healthy organs.
Ashwaghanda can help undo the damage.
Science is now showing us what Ayurveda has believed for centuries – that ashwagandha is a powerful adaptogenic herb that earns its keep. Adaptogens are active agents that help your body deal with stress, anxiety, and fatigue. They work on your whole body, not just a single organ.
During the past 45 years or so, a stunning 1200 research scientists have conducted over 3,000 studies involving over 5,000 people. Their efforts led to the discovery of adaptogens, a name coined by Dr. Nicolai Lazarev.
An adaptogenic herb gives you more of what you need and less of what you don't need. Thus, an adaptogenic herb for blood pressure might either increase or decrease your blood pressure, depending on whether yours is too high or too low.
How does the adaptogen called ashwagandha deal with stress? Pretty well, thank you.
Ashwagandha can end premature aging linked to chronic nervous tension, to the point that many researchers support it for clinical use as an anti-stress agent.
Studies show it's as effective as certain tranquilizers and antidepressant drugs (Ativan® and Tofranil®), provided you give it five days.
Scientists also administered ashwagandha one hour before a daily stressful procedure. All the measures of free radical damage became normal, in a dose-dependent manner.
Fights cancer as effectively
as chemotherapy
Perhaps because so many ills are associated with chronic stress, ashwagandha's benefits extend to cancer, too.
Here's just a sampling of what recent cancer studies have found…
  • Ashwagandha inhibits the growth of human breast, lung, and colon cancer cells comparably to the chemo drug doxorubicin (in lab studies). Withaferin A, a compound in ashwagandha, was more effective than doxorubicin in stopping breast and colon cancer cell growth.
  • Ashwagandha disrupts the ability of cancer cells to reproduce, which is a key to fighting cancer.
  • Lab analysis shows that ashwagandha has the ability to prevent cancer from forming the new blood vessels it needs to support its uncontrolled growth. Stopping this process (called angiogenesis) is likewise a key to fighting cancer.
  • In animal trials, ashwaghanda also inhibited induced stomach cancer. Overall tumor incidence dropped by 60% and the number of tumors (multiplicity) plummeted by 92%. The results were similar when tested with rodents and skin cancer, reducing tumor incidence by 45% and multiplicity by 71%.
  • Other studies have also confirmed ashwagandha's protective benefit against skin cancer.
  • Another experiment showed it increased life span and decreased tumor weight in experimental animals with induced lymphatic cancer.
These are exciting findings suggesting ashwagandha could give patients a huge boost in battling cancer.
Ashwagandha as a valuable adjunct for chemo
Ashwagandha can also be an important adjunct to help with neutropenia caused by chemotherapy. Neutropenia is a sharp decrease in infection-fighting neutrophils (white blood cells). The condition can make a chemo patient into a sitting duck for infections, and, in fact, many cancer patients die of such infections.
Chemotherapy typically destroys the valuable immune system factors interferon-gamma and interleukin-2. An animal study showed that those receiving ashwagandha were able to keep these immune system parameters at normal levels while undergoing chemotherapy.
How about protection from Alzheimer's?
Ashwagandha does that, too!
Not only is ashwagandha a proven stress reducer and cancer fighter, it also protects your brain.
One impressive animal study in India showed that stressed rats had an 85% rate of cell degeneration in their brains – similar to what leads to long-term cognitive problems in humans.
When treated with ashwagandha and exposed to stress, their brain degeneration was stopped almost entirely.
Then there's this human trial…
Could this herb help address
the stress factors in your life?
The most damning effects of stress are linked to the stress hormone cortisol. With ashwagandha, study participants experienced these eye-popping results:
  • Reduction in cortisol levels as much as 26%
  • Decline in blood sugar levels
  • Improved lipid profile
  • Increased energy
  • Reduced fatigue
  • Better sleep
  • An enhanced sense of well-being
Could this herb help address many of the health and psychological issues of today's frenzied society?
A Japanese model of damaged nerve cells and impaired nerve-signaling pathways showed that ashwagandha helped reconstruct synapses, the junctions where nerve cells talk to each other. Synapses affect the speed of aging, brain ability and your ability to regenerate nerve tissue.
Ashwagandha also helps reconstruct and stimulate the growth of the "limbs" or "branches" of nerve cells called dendrites that play a role in cell-to-cell communication. Dendrites transmit the signals received from other nerve cells via synapses.
By repairing and reconstructing both synapses and dendrites, ashwaghanda helps heal compromised brain tissue such as that associated with dementia.
Lastly, it may help boost healthy brain cell function in addition to benefiting diseased nerve cells.
Parkinson's is another neurodegenerative disease for which conventional medicine has no cure. But studies show that ashwagandha extract reverses all the markers of Parkinson's in a dose-dependent manner.
Ashwagandha inhibits the enzyme responsible for breaking down one of the brain's key chemical messengers, a problem shared in both Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
We've just scratched the surface
of ashwaghanda's benefits
As with many natural nutrients and herbs, ashwagandha supports a broad base of functions and therefore offers benefits well beyond the ones that get the most attention.
These are some of the side benefits you may experience:
  • Increased memory, learning ability, and attentiveness
  • Reduced inflammation
  • Reduced cholesterol
It's even a helpful treatment for malaria, if you happen to visit the tropics and come home with this deadly parasite. Interestingly, one study showed that ashwagandha produced higher counts of critical white blood cells like T cells and Natural Killer white blood cells when it was ingested with cow's milk.
How to take ashwagandha
So, interested in adding Ashwagandha to your diet? Here's what to know…
Ashwagandha also goes by the names Indian ginseng and winter cherry. It's botanical name is Withania somnifera. It can be found as a supplement, in dried root form, as a tea, or as a plant. Some people grow it in their backyard gardens. The plant loves sandy soil and hot sun.
Wonderfully, it has few side effects compared to Big Pharma's drugs, but pregnant and nursing women should not take it.
Some people report that it makes them sleepless, and others say it makes them sleep better. I'm in the first category: It disturbs my sleep. That's an effect that many powerful antioxidants have on me. Few people have this problem. You may have to experiment to find out how your body responds.
Recommended dosage is generally 300-500 mg once or twice per day.
Beat stress or lose your health – your choice!
Chronic stress extorts a heavy toll from your body – and your mind. It plays a major role in cancer, heart disease and memory loss. Don't take it lightly or resign yourself to just putting up with it.
It's worth adding this ancient herb to your daily regimen to combat daily stressors and protect yourself. You have much to gain and little to lose. If you try it, find us on Facebook and let us know how you like it.
