ISSA Q&A: What are the Pro-Hormones and what are they used for?

468 x 60

From I.S.S.A.

QUESTION: What are the Pro-Hormones, and what are they used for?
ANSWER: Pro-Hormones are a class of supplements which work by raising the level of anabolic hormones in the body. This increase can facilitate the growth of lean muscle mass and also result in the reduction of adipose tissue (fat).
The popularity of Pro-Hormones has exploded in the past 9 months as their effectiveness has been recognized by the entire bodybuilding, fitness, and now sports community.
QUESTION: What are the specific types of Pro-Hormones, and what is the difference between them?
ANSWER: While they go by many different names and labels, the Pro-Hormones can basically be broken down into two distinct categories: those that are believed to convert directly into testosterone in the body (these commonly carry the "andro" tag) and those that convert into nandrolone (these typically carry the "norandro" tag).
The two most popular "andro" products-each of which likely converts directly to testosterone in the liver-are:
Androstenedione / conversion rate of 5.61% Androdiol / conversion rate of 15.76%
The two significant "norandro" Pro-Hormones-those that convert to the well-known anabolic nandrolone-are:
Norandrostenedione / conversion rate of 5.61% Norandrostenediol / conversion rate of 15.76%
Cancer Defeated Publications
QUESTION: What are the side-effects associated with the Pro- Hormones, and how can they be minimized?
ANSWER: Any time you significantly elevate the level of anabolic hormones in the body there is the possibility of undesirable side-effects. With Pro-Hormones these side-effects appear to occur at much lower levels and much less frequently than say with synthetic anabolic steroid use.
The possible side-effects fall into two classes: those caused by aromitization or increased estrogen in the body (these may include skin problems such as rashes and sensitive or enlarged nipples, gynecomastia); and those androgenic effects resulting from increased DHT or dihydrotestosterone (these could include deepening voice, acne, body hair growth, depletion of head hair, and prostrate enlargement).
Because they convert directly to the more anabolic and more androgenic compound testosterone, androstenedione and androstenediol are likely to have a higher side-effect profile than the norandros. They are also likely to cause greater increases in lean muscle mass, so it's a trade-off.
There are at least three highly-effective methods to help minimize any occurrence of undesirable side-effects with Pro- Hormone supplementation.
1. Stick within the recommended doses. In general, do not exceed a total of 750 mg / day in total Pro-Hormone intake.
2. Supplement with Chrysin (500-1000 mg / day) to help eliminate possible side-effects associated with aromitization.

3. Supplement with Saw Palmetto (300-400 mg / day) to aide in minimizing DHT related side-effects. Saw Palmetto seems to prevent the binding of DHT to angrogen receptors in the body thus blocking androgen-based side-effects.
QUESTION: What is the best way to cycle Pro-Hormones to maximize gains?
ANSWER: There's still a great deal of research that needs to be done in this area.
My own experiences and observations would suggest that the most significant strength and mass gains with Pro-Hormone use are seen after approximately 10-15 days.
This leads one to believe that very short cycles-those lasting just a week to 10 days-are probably less effective than slightly longer cycles.
This, however, must to be balanced with the need to avoid significantly diminishing the natural production of hormones which would likely occur after prolonged use of Pro-Hormones.
Right now then, the best cycle for Pro-Hormone use would seem to be a period of 4-6 weeks on followed by at least 3-4 weeks off.
QUESTION: What's your overall assessment of Pro-Hormones and their value to those looking to add quality lean muscle mass?
ANSWER: Pro-Hormones help promote lean muscle mass like no other supplements legally available. They are potent aides in the development of a top-quality physique.
They must, however, be used intelligently and in combination with well-constructed training and nutrition programs.

The Secret to Why Some People Age 10 Years and Still Look the Same

The Secret to Why Some People
Age 10 Years and Still Look the Same
There is a little known '"Superfood" with the ability to reverse the effects of aging, make you feel and look younger and give you a steady stream of energy throughout the day...
It contains the secret to why some people can age, but not look older!
We all know—as we age our body simply doesn't heal as fast. Our immune system doesn't resist infection as well.  And our digestive system doesn't work as well anymore.  We get tired more easily, get sick more often and gain weight faster in places we didn't think possible!
As well, our skin doesn't maintain the moisture, elasticity and color it used to.
However—have you ever wondered how certain people can go from age 30 to 40 (or 40 to 50 even)... and not show any signs of aging at all?  These people are 10 years older, but they look and feel the same.  Their bodies are performing just as well a decade ago.
Why is that?  How is that possible? Do they have some secret anti-aging formula or a hidden "fountain of youth" in their backyard?
The simple truth about aging: cellular regeneration.
It's actually very easy to understand why some people age faster than others.
Aging is actually a very simple math equation.  We have daily wear and tear in our lives.  It can be physical, mental or even emotional stress.  When we put strain on our bodies, many of our cells get toxic, grow old or simply stop working.
When our cells finally die, new and better functioning cells replace them.
This is called "cellular regeneration".
Unfortunately, the process of replacing old cells with new cells requires a lot of energy.  Without energy, our cells die faster than we can make new ones.  But over time, our ability to make energy slows down. And when cells aren't replaced faster than they die off... we "age".
So the real secret of looking young, staying fit and shedding weight is energy?
Well, yes and no.
To be clear, it's your body's ability to create energy.   Here's what happens in the trillions of cells in your body...
Your cells are like factory assembly lines.  When you feed it enough oxygen, hydrogen, sugar (the good kind), good fats (like omega-3), vitamins, minerals and amino acids...
And in order for your cells to work optimally, you need to feed them properly.
Hopefully, you're already drinking tons of water and doing some exercise.  That takes care of oxygen and hydrogen.  For everything else, it's a matter of eating the right foods packed with the right nutrients.
Watching what you eat is harder than it sounds
A lot of the foods we get at the grocery stores today are full of toxic chemicals, additives and bad sugars like high-fructose corn syrup.
Recently, scientists have discovered a "Superfood" that's 100% raw, natural and organic.
No, it's not acai berries, chlorella, spirulina, goji, resveratrol or fish oil.
In fact, this Superfood is 100 times more potent and powerful than all those Superfoods combined.
How Powerful is this Superfood?
99% of all life on planet Earth depends on this one microscopic life source.
Without it, life would not exist.  (In fact, it's responsible for making up to 90% of our planet's oxygen... and it has nothing to do with trees).
And most importantly of all...
It has the power to "stimulate" your body to create trillions of healthy, new cells which is the secret to growing older without aging.
Click here to discover how this anti-aging "Superfood of the Future" hand-delivers the most important and essential nutrients and vitamins that will boost your energy levels and have you aging in reverse.

NEW Grain-free recipe

Cancer Defeated Publications

Diana Keuilian realhealthyrecipes@gmail.com

Let's sit down together and have the uncomfortable talk about grains...
I'm gonna say some stuff here that you may not want to hear, stuff that goes against what you've been made to believe is healthy.
However, if you read the following with an open mind then you're going to come away with a life changing truth about truly healthy eating that will transform your body. It has certainly transformed mine.
A few weeks ago I posted the quote below from Mark Sisson, author of The Primal Blueprint, on my facebook page that raised many questions.
"There are no requirements in human nutrition for carbohydrates. Grains are totally unnecessary."
So if we aren't supposed to be eating grains then why are 'whole grains' said to be so healthy for us? Why do whole grain bread product have a heart healthy stamp on them? Why does the doctor tell us to eat plenty of whole grains to help lower our cholesterol and increase our fiber intake?
Here is the argument against the consumption of grains:
  • When looking at the span of human existence, grains have been apart of our diet for only a short time.
  • "For better or for worse, we are no longer hunter-gatherers. However, our genetic makeup is still that of a paleolithic hunter-gatherer, a species whose nutritional requirements are optimally adapted to wild meats, fruits and vegetables, not cereal grains. There is a significant body of evidence which suggests that cereal grains are less than optimal foods for humans and that the human genetic makeup and physiology may not be fully adapted to high levels of cereal grain consumption." Loren Cordain, Ph.D., author of The Paleo Diet
  • Grains contain plentiful calories, however they also contain "antinutrients" (compounds that interfere with the absorption of beneficial nutrients), are high in carbs, and have grain protein which are foreign to the human digestive process.
  • A diet high in grains puts stress on the body's insulin regulation mechanism which leaves you susceptible for weight gain and diabetes.
  • Certain grain proteins (ever heard of gluten?) trigger an immune response when ingested. According to researchers, as many as one third of us are gluten-intolerant or gluten-sensitive. Over time this can lead to dermatitis, joint pain, reproductive problems, acid reflux, other digestive conditions, autoimmune disorders, and celiac disease.
  • "For the purpose of weight control and preventing disease, a gram of carb from a whole grain is no better than a gram of carb from a refined grain. I'm not suggesting you choose refined grains over whole grains; I'm suggesting that you ditch all grains. " Mark Sisson, Primal Blueprint
I don't know why grains are still considered a health food darling while the research against gluten and processed carbohydrates piles up.
Like you, I too have spent years being duped into thinking that brown rice and whole grain bread was benefiting my body, when in fact it was responsible for the weight I couldn't lose and the indigestion I felt. The day that I stopped eating grains my body naturally began to shed off extra pounds.
The good news is that eating fewer grains is easier than you think...
Here are some painless ways to replace grains:

-       Bake a loaf of Almond Bread to replace wheat bread.
-       Wrap your sandwich in large lettuce leaves.
-       Eat Kale chips rather than traditional chips.
-       Bake some Caveman Granola rather than regular cereal.
-       Swap out regular flour for almond flour in your favorite baking recipe.
-       Make noodles with a vegetable peeler and a zucchini, or use spaghetti squash.
-       Try my new recipe for Real Healthy Sweet & Sour Rice, using cauliflower.

Big Train College Round-Up 4/12

Big Train College Round-Up 4/12

Another week, another great start from Ben Griset (BT '12). For the second time already this season, Griset threw a complete game while striking out double-digit batters (10) for St. Mary's (CA). Last Friday night against Georgetown, Griset gave up just one unearned run, four hits, and one hit-by-pitch on his way to his second nine-inning outing of the season. It took him 119 pitches, 86 of which went for strikes. Luckily for the Gaels, Griset was not the only Big Train help they would receive this week.

On the pitching front, Gary Cornish (BT '13) was solid out of the bullpen as he threw three innings and recorded seven of his nine outs via strikeout and gave up just two hits and no runs or walks. At the plate, two hitters came up big. Markus Melgosa (BT '10) had an extremely well-rounded line of 9/19, HBP, 6R, 3RBI, 2B, 3SB as he did everything possible to help his team.Brenden Kalfus (BT '11) continued his hitting hot streak as he was 6 for 17 with three doubles and a stolen base while scoring three times and driving in five.

At another Big Train outpost out west, San Diego State got some great assistance from Big Train players as well this week, all of it from the mound. On the starting front, Ryan Doran (BT '12) went 7.2 innings last Sunday and picked up the win as his Aztecs beat Nevada. Doran gave up just one earned run on five hits and four walks while striking out seven. Doran and other Aztec pitchers were helped along all week by Big Train pitchers from the bullpen. Justin Hepner (BT '13), Bubba Derby (BT '13), and Ethan Miller(BT '12) combined to throw 6.1 innings out of the bullpen this week and allowed just one earned run while they earned a win and a save. Combined, they gave up four hits, three walks, and hit two batters on their way to four strikeouts.
Other notable hitting performances: Tyler York (BT '13 / Tallahassee CC) - 5/7, 2BB, 3R, 5RBI, HR... Justin McCullough (BT '10-'12 / El Camino CC) - 6/12, R, 3RBI, 2B... Tim Quiery (BT '11 / San Jose St.) - 4/8, 2R, RBI...Adam Barry (BT '11-'12 / High Point) - 7/19, 3R, 2RBI, 2 2B... Ricky Santiago (BT '13 / Florida Atlantic) - 5/17, BB, 3R, 5RBI, 2 2B... Tucker Tobin (BT '11-'13 / George Mason) - 3/15, BB, HBP, 2R, 3RBI, 2HR... Hunter Renfroe (BT '11-'12 / Mississippi St.) - 3/14, 2BB, HBP, 3R, 2RBI, HR, 2B.
