An Overview of Sexual Dysfunction

What is sexual dysfunction?

Sexual dysfunction refers to a problem occurring during any phase of the sexual response cycle that prevents the individual or couple from experiencing satisfaction from the sexual activity. The sexual response cycle traditionally includes excitement, plateau, orgasm and resolution. Desire and arousal are both part of the excitement phase of the sexual response.

While research suggests that sexual dysfunction is common (43 percent of women and 31 percent of men report some degree of difficulty), it is a topic that many people are hesitant to discuss. Fortunately, most cases of sexual dysfunction are treatable, so it is important to share your concerns with your partner and health care provider.

What are the types of sexual dysfunction?

Sexual dysfunction generally is classified into four categories:

Desire disorders —lack of sexual desire or interest in sex Arousal disorders —inability to become physically aroused or excited during sexual activity Orgasm disorders —delay or absence of orgasm (climax) Pain disorders — pain during intercourse

Who is affected by sexual dysfunction?

Sexual dysfunction can affect any age although it is more common in the 40-65 year old range and is often related to a decline in health associated with aging.

What are the symptoms of sexual dysfunction?

In men:

Inability to achieve or maintain an erection suitable for intercourse (erectile dysfunction) Absent or delayed ejaculation despite adequate sexual stimulation Inability to control the timing of ejaculation (premature or retarded ejaculation)

In women:

Lack of interest in or desire for sex Inability to achieve orgasm Inadequate vaginal lubrication before and during intercourse Inability to relax the vaginal muscles enough to allow intercourse

In men and women:

Lack of interest in or desire for sex Inability to become aroused Pain with intercourse

What causes sexual dysfunction?

Physical causes — Many physical and/or medical conditions can cause problems with sexual function. These conditions include diabetes, heart and vascular (blood vessel) disease, neurological disorders, hormonal imbalances, chronic diseases such as kidney or liver failure, and alcoholism and drug abuse. In addition, the side effects of some medications, including some antidepressants drugs, can affect sexual function.

Psychological causes — These include work-related stress and anxiety, concern about sexual performance, marital or relationship problems, depression, feelings of guilt, and the effects of a past sexual trauma.

How is sexual dysfunction diagnosed?

In most cases the individual recognizes there is a problem interfering with his or her enjoyment (or the partner's enjoyment) of a sexual relationship. The clinician likely will begin with a complete history of symptoms and a physical. He or she may order diagnostic tests to rule out any medical problems that may be contributing to the dysfunction. An evaluation of the person’s attitudes regarding sex, as well as other possible contributing factors (fear, anxiety, past sexual trauma/abuse, relationship problems, medications, alcohol or drug abuse, etc.) will help the clinician understand the underlying cause of the problem and make recommendations for appropriate treatment.

 How is sexual dysfunction treated?

Most types of sexual dysfunction can be corrected by treating the underlying physical or psychological problems. Other treatment strategies include:

Medication — When a medication is the cause of the dysfunction, a change in the medication may help. Men and women with hormone deficiencies may benefit from hormone shots, pills or creams. For men, drugs including sildenafil (Viagra) may help improve sexual function by increasing blood flow to the penis.

Mechanical aids — Aids such as vacuum devices and penile implants may help men with erectile dysfunction (the inability to achieve or maintain an erection). Dilators may help women who experience narrowing of the vagina.

Sex therapy — Sex therapists can be very helpful to couples experiencing a sexual problem that cannot be addressed by their primary clinician. Therapists are often good marital counselors as well. For the couple who wants to begin enjoying their sexual relationship, it is well worth the time and effort to work with a trained professional.

Behavioral treatments — These involve various techniques, including insights into harmful behaviors in the relationship or techniques such as self-stimulation for treatment of problems with arousal and/or orgasm.

Psychotherapy — Therapy with a trained counselor can help a person address sexual trauma from the past, feelings of anxiety, fear or guilt, and poor body image, all of which may have an impact on current sexual function.

Education and communication — Education about sex, and sexual behaviors and responses may help an individual overcome his or her anxieties about sexual function. Open dialogue with your partner about your needs and concerns also helps to overcome many barriers to a healthy sex life.

Can sexual dysfunction be cured?

The success of treatment for sexual dysfunction depends on the underlying cause of the problem. The outlook is good for dysfunction that is related to a treatable or reversible physical condition. Mild dysfunction that is related to stress, fear or anxiety often can be successfully treated with counseling, education and improved communication between partners.

The Solution to Cancer, Treat the Cause And Not Just the Effect

There is a solution to cancer and it doesn’t involve removing any cancer growths because the body can do that naturally and without any side effects. To remove cancer all you need is knowledge. The solution is to deal with the reasons why the cancer first grew instead of just treating the effect which is the growth. This system uses the powerful self-healing ability of the human body which everybody possesses.




Surviving cancer is all about gaining knowledge and learning how the body itself can fight the disease. It should make absolute sense to everybody that the body can cure itself as it does with many aliments we suffer from, if it is given the right support. The human body is an amazing item because it has a built in self-healing system and all you have to do is to correct the factors that first caused the cancer to appear.

Why aren’t we informed about this way of treating cancer? Treatments today are in place because they are all very good at making money. The reason why so many people are dying of the problem is because cancer is a deficiency disease and there is not a drug or a treatment to resolve that problem. It appears because of our modern way of living with our artificial food, the chemicals we use and our sedentary lifestyle.

One hundred years ago cancer was a rare disease whereas today in developed countries it is affecting every third person over their lifetime. Ask yourself what has happened over these one hundred years and the answer is our food has changed; we no longer get the exercise that the human body needs, and the chemicals we now unwittingly use. Those are the main causative factors that will bring on a diagnosis of cancer.

Many people believe that cancer develops without a reason but that is not true. All cancers are caused by the way we now live but because of our ignorance and the fact that we don’t have cancer prevention; we are kept totally unaware about the many products we use that are known to cause the problem.

Removing just the growth with the three mainstream treatments doesn’t solve the problem. Cancer will only develop when our immune system has been weakened which has allowed normal body cells to grow without control and become cancerous. The growth itself is just a symptom so the only way to solve the problem is to remove the cause of the symptom. When you do that the body will self-heal using the body’s natural ability to repair itself.

It is well known that cancer is a total body disease where the growth itself is merely a sign that something is wrong. Numerous studies have shown that a tumour that could not be cured 40 years ago still cannot be cured today with conventional treatments. The reasons why natural cancer treatments work so well is because they correct the root cause of the problem throughout the entire body. Once the causes are identified, reversing cancer is a simple matter.

If we were told the truth about cancer we could then make important decisions with our treatment options. Patients deserve to know the truth and to be able to make choices based upon genuine information. Sadly that is not the case today.

 Use Your Mind To Heal Cancer

Your mind is the epicenter of your body. Your mind is responsible for everything, every movement, even the act of breathing. How bizarre that we only use ten per cent of it and we still know so little. It’s like an anatomical black box.




When I imagine the world in one hundred years’ time I imagine a mind that we have begun to understand and a world free of cancer. After all, the body can already heal itself (for example; when you cut yourself) and the role of the mind in that healing is still quite vague. Could we use our mind to intentionally heal our bodies?

I lost my cousin to cancer in 2007. We were the same age, she was just 26. Then I lost her mother a few years after that. Again to cancer. If they were still around today I would share with them the little information I have learned about the mind and I would ask them to follow the below ten steps as part of their daily routine.

In one hundred years, when we know how to harness our powerful minds, this may turn out to be a prov-en cancer cure. That or just ten small steps that could have significantly improved the mindset and general well being of my Aunt and cousin.

1) Surround yourself with beautiful things. Both to listen to and to look at. You will harness your mind more easily when you are relaxed. Beautiful things also make a good distraction from the disease so watch comedies and laugh… no more dramas and tear jerkers.

2) Get plenty of hugs and if there is no one around then hug yourself. Seriously do it! Massages are good also.

3) Don’t mention the K-word, forget it. K-word because C-word will still evoke cancerous thoughts. You need purity of thought now. So do what you have to do (chemo etc) but refrain from talking about it as much as possible. If you do slip up and mention it, don’t worry. Breathe out and let it go then find a happy thought to replace it.

4) While eating, visualize the healthy nutrients and minerals traveling to your stomach and large intestine. Close your eyes and see them being absorbed into your blood stream and traveling to the cancerous location. Their absorption will have a profoundly positive effect on your healing.

5) Take a deep breath at the end of each meal. Place your hand over the cancerous part of your body and visualize your hand drawing the toxins out of your body. Breathe out and visualize those toxins racing through your blood stream to your lungs and out through your mouth.

6) Light incense or an oil burner in your bedroom before you go to bed. Breathe in the scent deeply one time and say out loud "this scent passes through my body and heals me from the inside out". Visualize the scent as a golden light moving throughout your body.

7) Listen to a hypnosis CD while you sleep. They work as they bypass the reasoning part of your brain and talk directly to your subconscious.

8) Start every day on a high note. Carry a photo of one of your great loves (i.e. your husband, or maybe your cat or dog). Pull out the photo and look at your great love whenever you are feeling down.

9) Take a liquid multivitamin at breakfast. Hold up the shot of Vemma, look at it, and say out loud "This little potion brings me great health". As you drink visualize the liquid racing down through your body and washing away the toxins. Any vitamin tablet will do though Vemma in liquid form will help with the visualization.

10) Have faith. If I knew then what I know now I could have helped both my cousin and Aunt. We use ten per cent of our minds and have no real understanding of its capabilities. You are mind, your body is just the shell, so use your mind to heal your body.

Drink your Greens: Green Juice with a Kick

Green is good, almost without exception: kale, broccoli, spirulina, green traffic lights, green thumbs, American currency—well, once upon a time it was. Green is so good that even vegetarians, vegans, and raw foodists sometimes have a hard time eating enough of the stuff. So what’s the solution? Drink green juices. Yes, you’ll be forfeiting some fiber but think of the nutrients you might not have otherwise consumed.

The following recipe may not be for juicing lightweights, but I’m not here to detour anyone. By all means, give this green juice a GO!

Power Punch

4 Kale leaves
2 Collard leaves
3 Celery stalks
1 Tomato
1 Carrot, large
1 Apple
½ Anaheim pepper – for the kicker

Makes 3-4 servings. Choose organic when able and serve promptly.

Kale and collard greens are both great sources of vitamins A, C, E, and K, and are high in manganese, potassium, and calcium. You may be surprised to know that they also contain all of the essential amino acids, making them complete protein sources. Kale is also a decent source of iron.

Anaheim peppers contain capsaicin which has been shown to boost metabolism and immunity, help stabilize blood sugar, lower cholesterol, clear congestion, and fight inflammation. Anaheims also provide significant amounts vitamin C.

Celery, like kale and collard greens, is a significant source of vitamin C, potassium, and calcium, as well as magnesium, iron, and essential sodium. Some benefits of drinking celery juice include: lower total cholesterol and LDL (bad) cholesterol, replaced electrolytes, helps relieve constipation, relieves all types of inflammation, can lower blood pressure over time, and promotes healthy kidney function.

Apples are also a good source of vitamin C and potassium, boasting the benefits listed above.


Carrots, as we know, are tremendous sources of vitamin A—one large carrot contains 173% of our daily values (1 cup of chopped kale – 206%). Carrots are also a great source of vitamin K which aids in absorbing the calcium found in the kale, collard greens, and celery in this drink.
Tomatoes are highest in vitamin C, then A, and potassium. Tomatoes harvested in the summer have nearly three times the amount of vitamin C as those picked during winter.

  • Even veterinary medicine is now totally corrupted by Big Pharma, to the point where vets largely just push vaccines and medications onto dogs, cats and even horses.
  • These same pharmaceutical giants are pushing the FDA to outlaw CBD products and criminalize even non-THC cannabis as a form of natural medicine. This is being done, of course, to protect the monopoly profits of the opioid manufacturers that are killing tens of thousands of Americans each year while raking in billions in profits.
