Cancer-detecting bra could be better than mammograms

New Cancer-Detecting Bra Boasts Better Track Record than Mammograms

"A bra saved my life"
By next year, a cancer-detecting bra called the First Warning System should be available. Developers are currently waiting on FDA approval, which they expect by February of 2014.

It might sound far-fetched, but the First Warning System bra is a non-invasive screening device for breast cancer that's been in the works for over 20 years. Now it's just about ready for prime time, and it could revolutionize breast cancer detection and treatment. Keep reading and learn more about this remarkable breakthrough...

Continued below. . .

Breast Cancer Breakthrough BANNED!
U.S. Government Blocks Release
of Doctor's Life-Saving Book
A mammoth discovery is wiping out most breast tumors better than anything seen yet in modern medicine. It makes surgery, radiation and chemotherapy look like something from the Dark Ages.

A Cornell-educated doctor followed more than 25 years of case studies and PROVED this treatment can cure breast cancer. With the discovery I'm going to tell you about, almost every woman makes it and without losing a breast to surgery or taking any toxic chemicals. Even those with late stage cancer!

You've got to include this treatment if you want to have any REAL hope of defeating breast cancer. Click here now and watch a new video presentation about this important discovery…

Nedra Lindsay of Fairborn, OH, gives the First Warning bra credit for detecting her breast cancer early — and for saving her life. She wore the device at age 25 as part of the initial study. At that young age, she says breast cancer was the furthest thing from her mind.

But the First Warning bra indicated she had cancer. Nedra underwent three different, increasingly invasive medical tests that were reviewed by three independent medical investigations. All confirmed the initial diagnosis made by the First Warning bra.

Nedra's surgeon told her that under normal circumstances, her cancer likely wouldn't have been noticeable till she was closer to age 37. By then it could have progressed to a dangerous level. Nedra points out that under her insurance plan a mammogram wasn't even covered till she turned 40. Indeed, mammograms for women under the age of 40 are almost useless because the breast tissue in a younger woman is typically very dense.

Now aged 45, Nedra is alive and cancer-free.
Cancer-detecting technology built into a bra
According to Dr. Ronald Fletcher, Chief Investigator of the study and previous Director of Oncology at Greene Memorial Hospital in Xenia, OH, "Cancer is probably the most curable of all diseases — with the proviso that it's caught early enough." He points out women under the age of 44 aren't likely to be screened, but nearly 11 percent will eventually be diagnosed with breast cancer that will have already progressed to a late stage.

In fact, it's young women who usually have the most aggressive types of breast cancer. Tumors found in women under age 40 grow the fastest but are hardest to detect. And the sad truth is, roughly 6.5 percent of the victims will die as a result.

But if those tumors can be detected early, there's a nearly 100% survival rate.

That's where the First Warning System comes in. It detects cancer cells years before those cells can be seen on an MRI or mammogram. It uses patented sensor-detecting technology that is painless, non-invasive, and highly accurate.

To the naked eye, it just looks like a sports bra.

The First Warning bra works by detecting minute temperature differences in your breast tissue. It's these fluctuations in temperature that indicate a possible cancer abnormality. When a cancer tumor starts to grow, your body builds a system of new, albeit abnormal blood vessels. The increased blood flow to the area creates something called a "heat signature" within the tumor. This small temperature variation occurs several years before the tumor itself is visible on a mammogram or MRI.

But normal body temperature fluctuates throughout the day and varies from woman to woman. To account for that, the First Warning System needs to maintain constant contact with the body throughout a testing period of at least 24 hours. That's why a tight-fitting sports bra is ideal. Sensors located in the cup area of the bra stay in direct contact with the breast for as long as necessary to get a good temperature reading.

The sensors collect data that is sent to the Internet, and from there the data is analyzed by complex algorithms and delivered to a trained doctor. You get to see the results, too, either through your computer or mobile device.

So far, three clinical trials have shown an accuracy level of more than 90 percent for the First Warning System. As a screening tool, it's much more accurate at a gratifyingly earlier point in time.

It's cheaper, too, coming in at around $200. Mammograms cost as much as $300 but are only effective after a tumor has reached a detectable size. Even then, you've got the false positive issue. But the First Warning System bra not only detects early-stage tissue abnormalities, it also reduces the false positives that are causing women so much angst.
One step forward in the healthcare maze
This "magic bra" could be a massive step forward in easy breast cancer detection and early intervention. It should prove especially useful for women with dense breast tissue who are severely limited at present when it comes to diagnostic tools. (We've written before about how mammography and ultrasound are virtually useless for dense breasts, though few women know whether they have dense tissue and so aren't aware of their higher risk level — seeIssue #198.)

Here's a quick update on that note — beginning in April of 2013, California will be the 5th state mandating that physicians tell patients whether they have dense breast tissue. Eleven more states, as well as the federal government, have legislation pending. This is a significant step forward because it means more women will be made aware that their dense breast tissue significantly lowers the effectiveness of mammograms.

By the way, if you're ever diagnosed with breast cancer, you should read our Special Report Breast Cancer Cover-Up. It tells you the best natural and alternative treatments (and also the best tests — but not the First Systems bra, which hadn't come out yet at the time the report was written.)

Navigating the American healthcare maze is a nightmare. Breast Cancer Cover-Up can help. And with advances like the First Warnings bra, we can look forward to new ways to find cancer at a very early stage, when it's easy to treat.

If you haven't been reading Cancer Defeated for long, you may wonder, "Who needs this new breast cancer test? Don't mammograms do the job?" Glad you asked. Let's take a look. . .
A second opinion that came too late
Just last week, a study from the Annals of Family Medicine revealed a shocking new statistic: As many as 60 percent of abnormal mammograms turn out to be false positives. These are cases where the breast X-ray says the woman has cancer, but she doesn't.

ABC News with Diane Sawyer underscored this revelation, reporting recently on a woman who had an abnormal mammogram three years ago. The biopsy that followed revealed she had cancer. Because the woman's mother, sister, and three aunts had previously been diagnosed with breast cancer, she opted for a double mastectomy — the most radical treatment available.

But in the messy process of getting her insurance provider to cover expenses, the woman had to hire a lawyer. The lawyer sent her original biopsy out for a second opinion. The cancer expert who gave the second opinion said the woman never had cancer in the first place. Both mammogram and biopsy got it wrong.

Unusual? Not really. Another new and unsettling study shows as many as 4 percent of biopsies are misread — affecting as many as 10,000 women a year.

While this woman was thrilled to learn she was cancer-free, she'd also sacrificed both breasts to medical error.

It's a horrifying story, but it's not unique. Because mammograms can detect smaller lesions than ever before, an accurate cancer diagnosis has become much harder to make. That's led to an increase in false positive mammograms. Most of those are followed by a biopsy. And as noted, those are subject to error as well, although much less often than the X-rays.

In the best of cases, women with a false-positive mammogram — even where breast cancer is ruled out — experience as much as three years of lingering anxiety about having a close brush with cancer.

In the worst cases, the false positive results are taken all the way to the surgery table, with heartbreaking results like the example above.

So always, always get a second opinion — and do it BEFORE moving forward with any treatment option. If your doctor is any kind of decent human being, he or she will welcome another set of eyes.

These findings highlight the pressing need for improved screening tests. That's why the First Warning Systems bra is such welcome news.

Can a weed killer help cancer patients?

Cancer Defeated Publications

Could a rocket fuel and weed killer REALLY help cancer patients?

    Well, not the products themselves...

But it's possible if you're talking about one of their components, hydrazine sulfate—also called HZ. Let me explain. . .

Continued below. . .

The Amish Cancer Secret
How to cure just about any cancer the Amish way
Is it possible to cure just about any cancer the Amish way? Is it true that many Amish people easily get rid of cancer in just three or four weeks? Are the Amish onto something BIG?

To find out, I interviewed Jakob and Fannie, a young Amish couple from southern Minnesota. Jakob and Fannie are just two out of roughly 800 Amish people each year who travel 2,000 miles by train to go to a little-known cancer clinic.

They told me an amazing, lifesaving tip that everyone should know. . .but almost nobody does.

Click here and I'll share it with you, absolutely FREE.

Besides being ingredients in rocket fuel and weed killers, HZ compounds are also used to refine minerals… as a cleaning agent for soldering metals… and to perform blood tests…

And according to the National Cancer Institute (NCI), one HZ compound has been used to treat Hodgkin's disease, melanoma, and lung cancer since the 1960s!

Despite gaining notice from a mainstream medical organization, this inexpensive treatment has endured its share of bad press.

For example, some critics point to early studies that suggest HZ caused lung and liver carcinoma in rats. And others focus on supposed evidence that HZ produces hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) in dogs and rabbits.

Joseph Gold, M.D., director of the Syracuse Cancer Research Institute, has also developed HZ as an anticancer drug. Writing in the MedTruth blog, Dr. Gold exposed some of the tactics the cancer establishment has used in its smear campaign against HZ.

Dr. Gold is critical of NCI's 2004 statement that HZ "has shown no anticancer activity in randomized clinical trials." He says NCI failed to acknowledge the ten years of randomized clinical trials performed by Harbor-UCLA Medical Center from 1981-1990.

He further seeks to debunk claims that HZ may actually cause cancer. Dr. Gold acknowledged that HZ was shown to be carcinogenic in some mice that had ingested the drug in their drinking water since birth.

But he emphasized that there has "never been a case of human cancer reported as a result of HS therapy."

This is something that providers of chemotherapy drugs could NEVER say about their products, which Dr. Gold points out can produce up to 26 percent of "second cancers!"
The case of HZ versus HZ
Why are some folks convinced that HZ is a marvelous cancer treatment while others insist it should be avoided?

Well, here are a few things that the conventional cancer heavyweights would prefer you didn't know about this remarkable compound…
  • HZ is a combination of hydrazine salt and sulfuric acid that helps clobber cachexia—the muscle and weight loss that many cancer patients experience…
  • Clinical trials conducted in the 1970s by the Petrov Research Institute of Oncology in St. Petersburg [then Leningrad], Russia found that some advanced cancer patients treated with HZ reported improved appetite, less weight loss, greater strength, or reduced pain. Some patients noticed that tumors either reduced in size or stopped growing…
  • In 1980, randomized, double-blind clinical studies at Harbor UCLA Medical Centre in Los Angeles showed hydrazine sulfate could increase or stabilize a cancer patient's weight and lead to 'statistically significant survival increase' in patients with lung cancer.
  • Successful clinical trials conducted on hydrazine sulfate have been published in peer-reviewed medical journals worldwide…
  • Every controlled clinical trial of HZ performed according to internationally accepted standards of scientific conduct has indicated that it is both safe and effective!
In short, HZ isn't a miracle cure for cancer, but it does appear to relieve some of the unpleasant symptoms, such as pain, weight loss and nausea, and in some patients it actually controls or reduces tumors. It can be used in conjunction with chemotherapy.

Dr. Gold pointed out that the only contrary study results came from NCI-sponsored trials of hydrazine sulfate where researchers used incompatible medications with the test drug! This sort of allegation against NCI is common. It seems the Institute has a habit of sabotaging trials of alternative remedies.

HZ is known to be a potent monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitor, a type of drug used to treat depression. MAO inhibitors are known to have a potentially deadly interaction with other nervous system depressants such as alcohol, barbiturates and other tranquilizers.

Because cancer patients frequently receive tranquilizers and similar compounds the NCI researchers were warned against using HZ in combination with any of these agents—a warning which they chose to ignore, according to Dr. Gold.

He says NCI researchers did use the anti-nausea agent Compazine and benzodiazepine tranquilizers in their animal studies.

Thus it's no surprise that the group published a series of three negative study results in the June 1994 issue of the Journal of Clinical Oncology.

In some cases the rats that received both HZ and these incompatible chemicals became comatose. What's more, some 50-60 percent of animals that received the forbidden chemical combinations actually DIED!

In a subsequent 1994 investigation conducted by the General Accountability Office (GAO), NCI vigorously refused to acknowledge that HZ was an MAO inhibitor. This denial came despite decades of pharmacology entries describing the compound as just that.

Dr. Gold points out that despite investigations into charges of flawed study procedures—the final GAO report of the NCI studies was entitled, "Contrary to Allegation, NIH Hydrazine Sulfate Studies Were Not Flawed."
The choice is yours…
The negative NCI studies might have been intended to put a nail in the coffin of an inexpensive cancer treatment.

Yet today, you can still find HZ marketed in the United States as a dietary supplement. It is also widely used as an anticancer treatment in other countries.

Hydrazine sulfate is typically administered three times a day in a small 60 mg pill. The only potential side effects noted were possible dizziness, drowsiness, mild numbness of fingers and toes, nausea and mild sensations of itching.

Remember to discuss HZ and any other cancer treatment options with your medical professionals.

There are no known compatibility issues with HZ and other cancer treatments or supplements. But because it is an MAO inhibitor, you should not use HZ while taking tranquilizers or alcohol.

With proper use, HZ could be an effective way to combat some sickening side effects of one of our greatest health enemies!

Sweating is good for you (and not sweating is dangerous)

Take Advantage of Sweat to Release
an Avalanche of Toxins from Your Body

The ability to sweat a lot isn't what most people call a talent, or even a benefit. We live in a culture that doesn't want to see it and doesn't want to smell it.

But sweat, it turns out, can save your life.

Continued below. . .

Poof! 20 million cancer cells--GONE
Wake Forest University researchers simply called him "Mighty Mouse."

Imagine, after being injected with 20 million of the most vicious cancer cells on earth, this tiny creature never showed a single sign of the disease.

There wasn't a single trace of cancer in the mouse.

Buried deep in its genes was a stunning natural ability to beat cancer. Not only that, but all of Mighty Mouse's offspring had this unbelievable power as well.

And now, as you're about to see, one world-renowned M.D. has discovered a way you can do it too. This is the most promising cancer breakthrough in the past 150 years...and it's shockingly easy.

Please don't miss this lifesaving special presentation.

The word is out! Already-this breakthrough video has been sent to over 2 million people (and counting). THIS is your chance to see the original source before hearing about it second-hand. You don't want to miss this.

The reality of sweating
When you sweat, there's a lot more happening than just the visible signs of perspiration.
Your sweat glands — nearly two million of them — are dispersed throughout almost all the skin on your body. They're found in the layer known as the dermis. Nerve cells within the dermis control sweating.

Most people think of sweat as a way to stay cool when you overheat. But in fact, your body sweats continuously. Or at least, that's the case if you're healthy. The amount of sweat you produce is heavily affected by several things. These include not only air temperature and your activity level, but also — a surprising one — your emotional state.

Sweat itself is made up primarily of water. It also contains minerals, lactic acid, ammonia, urea, and sugar. Sweat levels increase for most people when they exercise, when the weather (or room temperature) is really hot, or when they're particularly angry or upset. Sweat levels can also increase when you're ill — a fever being the obvious case.

Sweat comes in two varieties: Active and passive. Active sweating happens when you exercise, and it invigorates your body. Passive sweating, which has more of a therapeutic effect, happens when your core body temperature rises (usually because the air around you is hot, as in a traditional sauna or a steam room). The more advanced far infrared saunas are something else. They induce a passive sweat by heating the body directly, not just the air.

In both active and passive sweating, your breath quickens, your circulation improves, and your metabolism speeds up. This combination of responses contributes to getting your body back to a normal temperature.

In fact, temperature regulation is the most important benefit to sweating. On average, you burn approximately 2,500 calories in a single day. That means your body generates enough heat from oxidation to boil somewhere around 25 quarts of water. Since your body can't tolerate that kind of heat, you have a built-in cooling system. Sweating slows down the rate at which your body burns calories. It also helps blood vessels within your skin dilate in order to release heat. Sweat brings your body temperature back to normal.
8 more healing benefits of sweat
Beyond temperature regulation, your body benefits from sweating in several other ways:

Energy boost: Sweating through exercise releases endorphins that prompt an energy boost.

Immune system boost: The theory is that as your body heats up, you generate more white blood cells. In turn, this strengthens your immune system.

Cardiovascular benefits: Along with increasing the dilation of your blood vessels, your heart gets a workout each time you sweat. Your heart is a muscle, after all.

Stress relief: Sweating is also relaxing. It's an effective stress reliever and helps get rid of fatigue in your body brought on by muscle tension.

Pain relief: As the body heats up and starts sweating, circulation improves and those energy-boosting endorphins are released. But endorphins are also a natural pain-relieving chemical and help limit any discomfort you might feel from sore muscles or arthritis.

Healthier skin: The November 5, 2001 issue of Nature Immunology, an online publication, cited work from Eberhard Karls University in Germany on the contents of human sweat. One ingredient the researchers discovered is something called dermcidin, an anti-microbial (antibiotic) peptide. Dermcidin plays a role in limiting the spread of disease-causing bacteria that lead to skin infections like impetigo. Also, some experts say heavy, regular sweating can slow the early signs of skin damage and aging.

Weight loss: Sweating doesn't necessarily speed weight loss in the way many people think. What it actually does is force you to lose water, which does indeed result in a temporary weight loss. But even if the numbers on the scale change, you need to replace that water loss by drinking water — otherwise, you risk dehydration. But sweating does contribute to the weight loss process. When you exercise and your body heats up, water-soluble fat leaves your body through sweat.

sauna-therapy.gif 150x168    Detoxification: According to Dr. Lawrence Wilson, author of "Sauna Therapy for Detoxification and Healing," cells that are damaged by toxic metals and other chemicals tend to be weaker than normal cells. When you heat these weaker cells, you speed up their death. This hastens the removal of metals and chemicals that may have been trapped in those damaged cells.

Detoxification through sweat plays an important role in disease prevention and treatment. Toxins, we know, cause a host of problems — cancer being one of them. Regular sweating helps you reduce this toxic load. In fact, as much as 30% of your body's waste gets removed through sweat. We see a lot of other cultures use this principle as a healing technique (think of Native American sweat lodges, for example). The second someone starts to feel ill, they're sent to a dry sauna. There's an old saying that a good sweat has the power to stop a cold in its tracks.
Jumpstart your ability to sweat
It's not common, but some people have a very hard time sweating. That puts their health at risk, because they're more disposed to become overheated and have a harder time getting rid of toxins.

If you engage in a physical activity and your face turns beet red while those around you sweat, it's a reason to be concerned. Sometimes a thyroid problem plays a role, so if you have considerable trouble sweating, it's worth asking a doctor to test your thyroid function.

Dehydration is another reason for limited sweating. Drink at least the recommended eight glasses of water a day to get your body back on track.

If you've already got these things in check, there are a few ways to jumpstart your ability to sweat. I'm fond of saunas, especially if they're far infrared, because infrared has the ability to heat the body directly, instead of just heating the air, thereby giving you a deep, detoxifying sweat at the cellular level where toxins reside. Wet saunas are another proven way to help your body release toxins through sweat.

Here at Cancer Defeated, we're long-term fans of infrared saunas. (Learn more in Issue #263. ) The detoxification and health benefits are proven, they're used in many reputable clinics, and you can even install one in your home if you wish. Sunlighten is an excellent, cutting-edge manufacturer that offers clinically backed full-spectrum infrared saunas. Visit their website or call 1-877-292-0020.

Another way to work up a sweat is to soak yourself for 20 minutes in a warm detox bath with epsom salts. Wrap up in warm towels after you step out of the bath.

Or put cayenne pepper and fresh lemon juice in your water. Drink it throughout the day to get your blood flowing and induce sweat. This is a time-honored detox secret (cheap, too!) I've used it myself.

You can also chug bentonite clay, a supplement known to help induce sweating. I haven't tried it myself, nor know anyone who has, so this one is your call. From what I can learn on the Web it appears to be safe.

A lot of people these days also report amazing benefits from hot yoga — essentially, the practice of regular yoga but at temperatures as high as 105 degrees Fahrenheit. Be careful not to overdo it — and do keep yourself hydrated.

Don't give up if you can't break a decent sweat on the first try. I've heard reports of very ill people having "breakthrough sweats," where they try something like a hot sauna for several days without effect, until one day — maybe after as many as six days of trying — sweat will suddenly start pouring out of them. Think of it as getting yourself unclogged.

Take note — a cancer diagnosis might actually increase the amount of sweat you produce. Some medicines and cancer drugs prompt this reaction as well. If that's the case, listen to your body and let it sweat.

And of course, any time you induce yourself to sweat, you want to make sure to replenish your body by drinking lots of water and taking mineral supplements.

You’re invited to see a free report with all the details on these amazing cures that happened thanks to the secrets of the 31-Day Home Cancer Cure.
You can read the proof for yourself, presented by Ty Bollinger, one of America’s top experts on alternative cancer treatments. In the free report, Ty tells you about the 31-Day Home Cancer Cure so that you won’t have to watch someone you love die in misery from outdated cancer treatments.
Ty knows exactly what’s it’s like to go through that, because he lost seven close family members to cancer, including his mom and dad. When his mother passed away, it was the last straw. He set out to find a way to beat cancer. He invested 7 years in learning about the treatments that really work. And now he wants to share what he learned with you in this report.
If a doctor told you the important information that’s in this report, he’d lose his license and might even go to jail. Ty isn’t a doctor and he doesn’t have that problem. He's free to tell you the truth.
He also doesn’t sell the treatments or make money off of them—unlike establishment doctors who will bill you as much as $850,000 for chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. After they’ve taken your money, you’re almost sure to die anyway -- because only two out of 100 cancer patients survive once the cancer has spread from where it first started.
That's why it makes sense to at least consider the proven alternatives Ty has uncovered. I'm not asking you to believe it yet—first take a look at the proof.
The 31-Day Home Cancer Cure costs so little that just about anybody can afford it—even uninsured patients on Medicaid. No wonder the cancer industry hates it!
The 31-Day Home Cancer Cure could save you or a loved one from dying an early death from cancer. There IS a better way to beat cancer than suffering through the misery of chemo and radiation. But I want YOU to decide if this is on the level. . .if this amazing treatment plan can save you the way it saved the four people at the top of this page. Click here and read the free report now!
As you’ll find out, it really is amazing how many doctors have been forced to eat crow after their “incurable” and “terminal” patients used the 31-Day Home Cancer Cure!

New breast test is twice as good as mammograms

The Beginning of the End for Mammography
and Other Invasive Treatments
By Mindy Tyson McHorse, Contributing Editor

Recent progress on the breast cancer front tells me we're moving closer to more effective, gentler cancer tests and treatments. It may even be the beginning of a movement away from radiation-heavy screening tests and invasive techniques like biopsies.

Here's the first round of good news: In September, the FDA officially approved use of ABUS — the Automated Breast Ultrasound System. What's that? If you're a woman you need to know, because it can DOUBLE your chance of finding breast cancer early. So keep reading. . .

Continued below. . .

3 Steps to Younger Skin
Every day, your skin is under attack from pollution, environmental toxins, lack of nutrients — even your skin care products are poisons. And with all the conflicting information out there about skin care, it's almost impossible to figure out the right thing to do.

But I have good news. Dr. Sears developed a simple way you can keep your complexion looking younger, longer without harmful products or intrusive procedures.

This simple, three-step "prescription" works naturally to:
  • Help your skin retain moisture, so you can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Feed your skin the nutrition it needs so it can stay supple, healthy and radiant.
  • Slow down the appearance of aging.
Why struggle with ordinary beauty products that add to the effects of time? Start looking the age you feel... or even younger. Click here to find out more about Dr. Sears' uniquely simple Ultimate Skin Care Regimen today!

We first told you about ABUS in Issue #198 of this newsletter, pointing out it's a lifesaver for women with dense breast tissue (that's about 40 percent of women in the U.S.).

Mammograms are useless for detecting tumors in dense tissue, and women with dense breast tissue are four to six times more likely to develop breast cancer. So the test is of little use to the women who need it most. Mammograms aren't even that useful for screening normal tissue, missing up to 15 percent of all cancerous lumps.

ABUS is important because it doubles the rate of early detection for women with dense breast tissue and triples the rate of detection for cancers smaller than 10 mm.And since early detection means a survival rate of 96%, ABUS just makes sense.

Now of course, the FDA only approved use of ABUS for women with dense breasts. And they haven't completely kicked mammograms to the curb. The first sentence of their official approval statement is that they support ABUS "in combination with a standard mammography." Even then, they say ABUS should be for women with dense breast tissues who've had a "negative" mammogram.

It's a little ridiculous because ABUS can screen tissue of any type. The best information we have indicates it's a better solution for almost any woman, because ABUS means no painful breast compression, no radiation exposure, and a more thorough exam than a mammogram.

Still, the FDA's new stance represents progress. It even gives me hope the FDA will someday sever its ties with the radiology industry. At least we can hope.

Just note that ABUS approval doesn't override the longstanding best way to find breast lumps: consistent breast exams from competent physicians. It's been proven that the more time a physician spends conducting the exam, the more thorough the results.

In fact, one study showed that OB/GYN physicians found fewer lumps when compared to family practitioners, internists, and other physicians who conduct longer exams (and by "long" I only mean 10-15 minutes).

But lumps smaller than 1 cm across are tough for physicians to feel, no matter how long the exam lasts. That's why the ABUS news is important. Plus, it takes a physician about five seconds to examine a woman's breasts and tell her if the tissue is dense. And if that's the case, an ABUS test is crucial.
The mechanical palpation that "reads" tumors
Another technique to keep your eye on: Elastography. It's used by ultrasound technicians to spot malignant tumors. That translates into fewer biopsies, because it means you're dealing with fewer false positives.

This is good news. Biopsies are invasive, cost as much as $1,000, and getting back results can take as long as two weeks. Worse, the pathway through the skin created by the needle makes it potentially easier for diseased cells to spread.

Elastography avoids all that. It's one step up from traditional ultrasound because it actually takes two ultrasound images and combines them. The first image uses basic ultrasound techniques to penetrate the body with sound waves. The result is a fuzzy image (called a sonogram) of what's inside your body.

Step two is where the ultrasound technician takes what's called a compression image. If a breast tumor is suspected, the tech pushes slightly on the breast with the ultrasound emitter. This compresses the breast tissue while sound waves go through it. Because healthy breast tissue and benign tumors are more elastic, or softer, than malignancies, they'll depress easily. Malignant tumors don't depress at all. They can be anywhere from five to 100 times stiffer than a benign growth.

It's the equivalent of a mechanical "palpation," providing information on the flexibility of a tumor.

Once the two images are combined, the resulting two-part computer-generated picture tells us a lot more than a basic sonogram.

But here's where it gets interesting — in 2006, an elastography study correctly differentiated between benign and malignant tumors with nearly a 100 percent success rate.

On top of that, doctors can read the results right away instead of making you wait weeks to learn whether a tumor is cancerous or not. The cost is only $100 or $200 per procedure and doesn't require a pricey follow-up visit. And given that it's non-invasive ... there's not really a good reason not to use it.

Elastography also shows incredible promise for diagnosing prostate cancer and a few other diseases, like cirrhosis of the liver (a disease where the liver hardens).
Cryogenics kill cancer cells
Elastography isn't the only way to avoid biopsies. IceCure Medical, a company in Israel, is now marketing what it calls "IceSense3" to kill breast cancer tumors.

The procedure is like a nearly non-invasive biopsy. It uses ultrasound imaging to guide a hollow, extremely thin needle into a tumor. Liquid nitrogen is then used to inject radically cold temperatures through the needle to destroy the tumor.

The method only works on tumors that are detected early, but if you pass that hurdle it has several other advantages. It requires just a local anesthetic and can be done in 10-15 minutes. More importantly, it doesn't leave women disfigured and with insanely large hospital bills.

It remains to be seen whether this method can prevent widespread metastases, since there's always the risk a cancer has spread by the time it's visible on a scan. But it's better than a lot of the procedures out there.
Cancer recovery now in reach
It's enough to make future breast cancer regimens look appealing: Easy tumor detection with ABUS. Clarification on whether a tumor is benign or cancerous through elastography. And then non-invasive cryogenic treatment on the tumors with cancer cells.

My advice? Ask about these treatments. Push for them. Demand them. The FDA is cumbersome in getting anything done, but who knows? Maybe the ABUS opinion is a sign that this beast of an organization will someday get on board with the future of cancer treatment.

This light therapy really IS a miracle cure

Cancer Defeated Publications

The Healing Power of Light
Known for 84 Years,
Ignored by Mainstream Medicine

By Andrew Scholberg and Lee Euler
This is the second of two reports about the Doctors' Symposium of the Cancer Control Society, September 4, 2012, Sheraton Universal Hotel, Universal City, California
Imagine an inexpensive therapy that would do these things for a cancer patient:
  • Supercharge the immune system
  • Oxygenate tissues
  • Kill viruses and bacteria in the blood
  • Improve circulation and microcirculation
  • Reduce pain
  • Increase the metabolism of cholesterol
If you think that's too good to be true, think again, and imagine no more. This inexpensive therapy is called ultraviolet blood irradiation (UBI). It was the subject of a remarkable speech by Tom Lowe at the 2012 Doctors' Symposium of the Cancer Control Society. Keep reading to learn more about this safe and extremely effective remedy. . .

How Carolyn Reversed
Her Alzheimer's by
Disobeying Her Doctor
An all-natural protein melts away the brain-clogging mineral that triggers memory loss, dementia and Alzheimer's — and cuts brain cell death in half! And yet this Nobel Prize-winning discovery is being ignored by 99% of doctors.

That's why I'd like to tell you about Carolyn.

Click here to see how she reversed her Alzheimer's without drugs — and in just a few weeks!

If you or someone you care about is suffering from memory loss, dementia or Alzheimer's, then you know how cruel these diseases can be. The emotional and physical toll they take on the patient — as well as on the entire family — can be devastating.

That's why the news of the breakthroughs I'm about to reveal could literally have a life-changing effect on you.

Best of all, these solutions are available and being used successfully right now — even while most doctors still throw up their hands when it comes to memory loss, dementia and Alzheimer's, using words like "hopeless" and "irreversible." It's hard to believe, I know. . .

So please click here to see how Carolyn reversed her Alzheimer's with this remarkable discovery!

Mr. Lowe has become one of the nation's leading experts on UBI. The Cancer Control Society's president Frank Cousineau introduced him as the father of 11 children who has been married for over 40 years. He's a businessman who supplies UBI devices to medical professionals throughout the country.
Alternative doctors swear by this therapy
Mr. Lowe explained that just five or six years ago, he was a real skeptic about UBI. But the evidence that it works is overwhelming, and he continues to get amazing reports from physicians about the effectiveness of UBI.

In fact, Tom Lowe invented a new, more powerful UBI device and co-founded a clinic that administers the therapy. While he's not involved in the clinic anymore, he personally saw hundreds of patients go through UBI with incredible results. He describes himself as being "shocked" at how successful the therapy was.
Safe, simple and totally harmless
You're probably wondering how UBI works. The physician withdraws a small quantity of your blood (from 40 to 60 cc). This tiny blood sample is passed through ultraviolet light and put back into your body. It's that simple. Your blood is optically dense, and the UBI light affects only three percent of it. But that's enough to do the job.

Ultraviolet light, of course, kills germs. But UBI doesn't achieve such dramatic results by directly killing microbes, since only a small amount of blood is exposed. Instead, it seems to stimulate the whole immune system and provokes a vaccine-like effect against almost any disease you happen to have.

The treatment is absolutely, completely safe and has NO side effects. It can't possibly harm you, and all the evidence suggests it does many patients a huge amount of good.

The technology was actually invented 84 years ago by a man named Emmitt K. Knott, who used it to cure a woman who was dying of a septic infection. Further development continued through the 1930s involving a number of researchers at various hospitals and universities, and by 1949 an article in Time magazine was calling ultraviolet blood radiation the wave of the future.

It was not to be. In the 1950s the medical profession decided that the new antibiotics and vaccines were the wave of the future. Interest in UBI died out almost completely. Tom Lowe says he once met an older doctor who remembered hearing about it in medical school. Then it disappeared.
"UBI can kick shingles in two days!"
UBI is effective against some 60 diseases, including hepatitis C, Epstein Barr virus, multiple sclerosis and HIV. In his talk, Mr. Lowe quoted a case in which a man with early-stage MS was cured in just a couple of sessions.

If you're worried about ever getting shingles, here's something you'll find useful. Mr. Lowe declared, "UBI can kick shingles in two days." I've never had shingles, but I've heard it's incredibly painful. If I ever do get shingles, I won't hesitate to use the UBI cure!

But please know that when it comes to cancer, UBI isn't a "silver bullet." Mr. Lowe says UBI should be viewed as an adjunct, not a mainstay, cancer therapy. It should be used along with other effective treatments. UBI helps battle cancer by creating more oxygen, reducing pain and inflammation, and killing infections that are often found in conjunction with cancer.

When someone has cancer, you can be sure the immune system is weak. Boosting the immune system through UBI and other therapies enables the immune system to return to duty and kill cancer cells right and left.

Because UBI improves circulation and micro-circulation, Mr. Lowe said it also helps with Reynaud's Syndrome, a circulatory disorder of the extremities. He added that the physicians who use UBI report excellent results with auto-immune diseases.

Mr. Lowe said that four treatments are usually the minimum. He has a network of physicians around the country who offer UBI therapy. Many doctors who offer UBI also offer ozone treatment and view the two as sister therapies. See Issue 226 for more information about ozone.

To see medical studies that back up the effectiveness of UBI or to find a practitioner near you, check out www.DrsUBI.com. You may contact Mr. Lowe at info@DrsUBI.com.
Even Quackwatch doesn't criticize it
Tom Lowe said that — unlike most alternative therapies — you can search high and low without finding a single negative comment about ultraviolet blood irradiation. Even Quackwatch doesn't say anything negative.

The reason is simple. The treatment is FDA-approved for treating at least one cancer, T-cell lymphoma. Even the American Cancer Society says UBI "is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for treating T-cell lymphoma involving the skin. Clinical trials look promising for the treatment of immune system diseases such as multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, rejection of transplanted organs and graft versus host disease."

This mainstream version of UBI, first developed at Yale, is now owned by Johnson and Johnson and available at roughly 200 centers around the world. It costs $2,500 to $4,000 per session with a minimum of ten sessions.

You don't have to spend anything like that amount of money. The versions of UBI offered by alternative doctors cost a couple of hundred dollars per session, at most.

Now here's another exciting development we learned at the Cancer Control Society's annual meeting. . .
A new state-of-the-art cancer test
When someone undergoes cancer treatment, it's essential to know whether or how well the treatment is working. One way to find out is through Dr. Efren Navarro's HCG Urine Test, which I describe in the Special Report I wrote with Bill Henderson: How to Cure Almost Any Cancer at Home for $5.15 a Day. (Click here if you'd like to learn more.) One advantage of the Navarro test is that it's so inexpensive.

A new test that's even more accurate is now available, thanks to the brilliant research of Dr. Emil Schandl, Ph.D. Dr. Schandl spoke about his breakthrough Longevity Profile Test, which includes his new Cancer Test (called "The CA Profile"). You'd never guess from Dr. Schandl's humble and mild manner that he has such a fascinating story.

Growing up under Communism in Hungary, Dr. Schandl experienced a life-changing event at the age of 13: a priest gave him some practical advice to do a few push-ups every day. He actually followed the priest's advice and became strong. He added other exercises and became stronger. The Communists eventually noticed his athletic potential and started grooming him to represent Hungary as a wrestler in the Olympic Games.

But Emil got into trouble with the government for participating in the 1956 Hungarian Uprising. When the uprising failed, he fled Hungary across the Austrian Alps and eventually made his way to America.

As an American, Dr. Schandl has become a distinguished scientist. He's still in top physical condition and has earned a 4th degree Black Belt in karate as well as a spot as a swimmer at the Senior Olympic Games. To keep himself in peak health, he regularly takes his own Longevity Profile Test. This test, which includes Dr. Schandl's new Cancer Test, gives him a snapshot of his current state of health. Although he has never had cancer, he takes the Cancer Test because it can detect cancer at the earliest stage.
Cancer patients should repeat the Cancer Test
He recommends that cancer patients repeat the Cancer Test from time to time during their treatment to find out whether or not the treatment is working. If the test shows that a course of treatment isn't working, the patient can switch to a different course of treatment. Every cancer patient needs to know whether or not the treatment plan is working in order to make any mid-course adjustments that may be necessary.

According to Dr. Schandl, his cancer test is more comprehensive and accurate than the Navarro HCG urine test. The Schandl cancer test may be ordered separately or as part of his comprehensive Longevity Profile Test, which he says everyone should get once a year.

The Longevity Profile Test also checks hormone levels, osteoporosis, coronary health, homocysteine, cholesterol, and so on. Whether you have cancer or not, this test is helpful. And it also alerts you VERY early if any cancer is present.

If you want to order one of Dr. Schandl's tests, instructions are available at his website,www.AmericanMetabolicLaboratories.net.

Cured of cancer? Get paid to shut up about it

Alternative Remedies Cured Your Cancer?
Get Paid to Shut Up about It!!

by Andrew Scholberg and Lee Euler
One of the most compelling speakers at the Cancer Control Society's 2012 Doctors' Symposium was a young cancer survivor named Lynnette Blake. Lynnette was told she had only six months to live. But she defied her doctor, turned to alternative medicine, and got rid of her cancer completely — mainly with the help of one particular remedy I'll describe in a moment.

Her story is wonderful and inspiring. But what interested me most was this: A major drug company was willing to pay her a quarter of a million dollars to keep her successful cancer recovery a secret. I was shocked, and you will be, too. Keep reading. . .

Continued below. . .

Breast Cancer Survivor was told:
"You'll be dead in a year" (Pssst!! That was 12 years ago!)
Doctors didn't give Wiltrude much hope when they diagnosed her with cancer in the year 2000. Wiltrude, a German psychologist, never thought cancer would happen to her. But it did. And it came as a big shock.

One doctor told her, "You'll be dead in a year." Late stage breast cancer isvirtually incurable using conventional treatments. Even M.D.s admit it. They talk about "buying you more time." (Don't count on it. The evidence shows you're better off doing nothing than chemo.)

When Wiltrude told her doctor she was going to try alternative treatments, he said, "You are committing suicide with what you're doing." But she was determined to find a way to beat her cancer.

Thanks to the wonders of the Internet, this European woman came across a book by my good friend Bill Henderson, one of the smartest and wisest people I know when it comes to cancer treatment.

She tried Bill's top, number one recommendation — a gentle treatment you can do at home for just $5.15 a day. What's more, the cost goes down to $3.50 after six weeks because you just need a maintenance dose. And it even tastes good.

Not only has Wiltrude passed the five-year cancer survival mark, she's survived for 12 years. We just interviewed her recently for this publication. The radiologist who tests her every year told her, "You're the only one with this kind of result."

You can find out about Bill’s proven cancer treatment plan in a free video presentation — click here to watch it now.

When I ask him about some of the treatments that top alternative doctors use, Bill sort of shrugs and says, "They're fine, but why bother? My treatment works, you can do it yourself, and it costs practically nothing."

He's coached thousands of cancer patients with all different types and stages of cancer. Most of the people who follow the detailed, specific plan in this Special Report get over their cancer and live for years.

"Almost any kind of cancer is reversible," says Bill. "I never give up on anyone."

Click here and watch the free video presentation about Bill’s amazing cancer protocol.

Six years earlier, Lynnette, a nurse, came down with cervical cancer. For the sake of her three children, she was determined to live. But her treatments weren't working.

She'd never heard of alternative cancer treatments. She accepted her doctor's recommendation without hesitation and went through eight rounds of chemo.

When the cancer spread to Lynnette's pelvic floor and all of her pelvic organs, her doctor prescribed another harsh drug nicknamed "the Red Devil" — the drug Adriamycin. But her cancer spread further until she reached Stage Four -- the last cancer stage before death. Her doctor gave her "six months to live" and offered no hope whatsoever.

Because her cancer was considered terminal, she was invited to participate in an experimental study. But she decided against it because the clinic was two hours away and there was a 50-50 chance she'd be in the group that got the "sugar pills" instead of the experimental drug. So she decided to stay home and die.

One day, as she was preparing for death, a friend leaned over and told her, "You need to hear about my son, who's battling cancer alternatively." Her son was juicing and taking things like laetrile and vitamin C. And he was getting his health back.
Oncologist warns: "You're committing suicide!"
Lynnette told her oncologist about the alternative treatment to get his opinion. He scoffed at the alternative treatments. In no uncertain terms, he told her, "It's quackery. It's unproven. It's dangerous. The cyanide in laetrile will poison you. And you're committing suicide if you quit chemo and radiation."

The oncologist must have temporarily forgotten he'd told Lynnette she was as good as dead no matter what she did.

Lynnette knew she had nothing to lose by trying an alternative. But the oncologist pushed hard. He even wanted to talk to Lynnette's husband. He insisted that she stay on the "straight and narrow" with his chemo and radiation treatments.

Lynnette stood up against the oncologist's ignorant bullying and reminded him it was herdecision to make, not his.

She started on various alternative therapies including laetrile, nutritional supplements, and the Gerson protocol. This proven protocol includes a strict anti-cancer eating plan and coffee enemas to flush and detoxify the liver. She wasn't able to go to the Gerson clinic in Tijuana, Mexico. Instead, she read a book about the Gerson protocol and did her best to apply it at home.
How the dead tumor came out of her body
After just 96 days of natural treatment, she was cancer free! She said, "The tumor came out in the toilet, which was kind of gross." Her conventional doctor wrote in her official medical records, "There is no explanation except spontaneous remission."

One doesn't know whether to laugh or cry. But don't do either yet. This gets even better.

Lynnette was delighted to be cancer free. But there was one dark cloud over her head: a $250,000 medical bill for the chemo and radiation treatments that didn't work. There was no way she could pay that enormous bill. She was ruined financially.
Drug company offers Lynnette a $250,000 bribe
The drug company that manufactured Lynnette's chemo was concerned that her astonishing story of recovery from Stage Four cancer would leak out. So the drug company offered Lynnette a $250,000 bribe. All she had to do was agree not to tell her story about alternative treatments, and the drug company would make her medical bills disappear.

Lynnette faced a terrible choice. She WANTED to tell her story and spread the good news all over God's green earth. But the wolf was at the door, and the bill collectors were hounding her with demands and threats. Under severe pressure, she felt she had no choice but to accept the drug company's offer. And her medical bills disappeared.

Despite her agreement with the drug company, Lynnette felt a higher obligation to tell the truth. So she wrote a book about her story: The Heavenly Cure for Cancer. . . . Is There One?It's a good book, in which she shares the details of the best cancer treatments — and not merely those she used to treat herself. After recovering from cancer, she became a naturopathic doctor, or N.D., and now she treats cancer patients herself. Her book is available on Amazon.com.

It's incredible to me that one of the major drug companies would spend $250,000 to bribe a patient not to reveal how alternatives saved her from cancer. How many other Lynnettes are there who accepted the money and never talked? Five? Ten? Dozens?

Here at Cancer Defeated, the closest we've come to this type of situation was a doctor at an alternative German cancer clinic — a very honest man — who told us he'd been offered a $5 million kickback by a major drug company if he would switch to using high-dose chemotherapy on his patients —and abandon his practice of alternative medicine combined with occasional low-dose chemotherapy.

I suspect these two cases are just the tip of the iceberg. The big drug companies are spreading around millions of dollars to keep effective, natural alternative treatments away from us.
How to get laetrile in America
Another surprising aspect of Lynnette's recovery was her use of intravenous laetrile at home! I'd never heard of that. But Lynnette pointed out that anyone can buy apricot seeds and other forms of laetrile over the phone or on the Internet from places likewww.TJsupply.com.

Laetrile by IV is a therapy you can't find in America, which is one reason why so many Americans go to alternative clinics in Mexico for cancer treatment. For more information about the best cancer clinics in Mexico, see my Special Report Adios, Cancer.

Conventional American doctors can get into trouble for administering laetrile. For example, in the 1970s Dr. James Privitera, M.D., was using laetrile to cure his cancer patients. He was sentenced to jail and worked on a road crew (similar to a chain gang). After 56 days, Gov. Jerry Brown pardoned him.

Like others in Lynnette's audience, I wondered how she was able to get intravenous laetrile at home. She explained that, as a nurse, she's fully capable of administering an IV to herself. And that's what she did. But this doesn't mean it's out of reach for you.

A relative can learn how to give you the IV treatments at home, or a nurse who's a friend. Some alternative clinics — including Lynnette Blake's clinic in Florida — will teach you or a relative how to do it. But she cautioned that "nothing is without risk."

To cure her cancer, she used a quantity of laetrile that exceeds what most Mexican clinics give. She started out with doses of 3 grams and worked up to 12 grams, three times a day. She kept this up for the 96 days it took to achieve complete remission, and she continued IV treatments for a full year (although she didn't indicate the dose.)

She took even more laetrile by eating apricot seeds, which she said gave her some nausea. But, contrary to what Lynnette's oncologist predicted, the laetrile didn't poison her. Rather, it poisoned her cancer cells. She continues to take laetrile by mouth, four years after making a full recovery.

As you may know, laetrile works like a "smart bomb." It does contain cyanide, but the poison is bound in a molecule that remains harmless until it encounters a cancer cell. Cancer cells have a unique enzyme that unlocks and releases the cyanide in laetrile, which then kills the nearby cancer cells.

Meanwhile, normal cells have a different kind of enzyme that "de-fuses" the cyanide, making it harmless to normal cells and actually releasing a substance that relieves both pain and high blood pressure.
Lynnette's advice about how to take laetrile
In addition to eating apricot seeds, Lynnette also took laetrile tablets. But she said, "Don't take apricot seeds and laetrile tablets at the same time or within three hours of each other. They're both safe, but take them separately."

She said that her full program of treatment — the laetrile, the special food, the supplements, the equipment — cost a total of $1,400 to $2,000 per month. That's a tiny fraction of the cost of conventional treatment. And it has the added advantage that it often works.

As I mentioned earlier, Lynnette obtained an N.D. degree, and she practices naturopathic medicine at the Back to Eden Wellness Center in Stuart, Florida. She told her story from her heart, and the audience gave her a warm round of applause. She is a woman of deep religious faith, as was the German doctor who turned down the $5 million bribe. You think there could be a connection?
Bacteria are always bad, right? Wrong!
"How to Reduce Your Risk of Colon Cancer" was the subject of the talk by Victoria Bowmann, Ph.D.

It has well been said that "death begins in the colon." Indeed, the proper functioning of your colon is essential for health. That's why holistic and integrative medical practitioners often focus their attention first on the colon, not just when treating cancer patients but for patients with other diseases as well.

The focus of Dr. Bowmann's talk was the colon's flora, that is, the good bacteria that live in the colon. For most people, the word "bacteria" has a negative connotation. But good bacteria are necessary for the colon to do its job.

Many people suffer poor health because of a deficiency in gut flora (good bacteria). Reflorestation (restoring good bacteria in the gut) can be accomplished by taking probiotic supplements or by eating such probiotic foods as raw yogurt and raw (unpasteurized) sauerkraut. But the quickest and most effective way to accomplish reflorestation, according to Dr. Bowmann, is by the rectal infusion method. She learned about this technique from Dr. Thomas Rau, M.D., during a 1996 visit to his famous Paracelsus Clinic in Switzerland.

I personally interviewed Dr. Rau in 2010 at Paracelsus, and I can attest that he's a first class physician who manages a superb facility. For a detailed report about his clinic and other alternative clinics, click here and check out my Special Report, German Cancer Breakthough.

Considering his sterling credentials, Dr. Rau's recommendation of the rectal infusion method of reflorestation is a strong endorsement. Reflorestation is also necessary after colonic hydrotherapy.

Dr. Bowmann explained that the infusion of beneficial flora is held in the sigmoid (lower) colon for an hour, after which the reflorestation has been accomplished.

The price of a rectal infusion kit for reflorestation is $35, and it's available from Dr. Bowmann's website: www.MyRealHealth.com. According to the website, the kit is "simple andvery easy to use in the privacy of your home. Dr. Bowman's book, You Gotta Have GUTS: The Natural Way to G.I. Health, is also available on this website.
Wellness breakthrough for life-giving water
Another speaker, Alfred Hanser, claimed a wellness breakthrough in one of the most basic substances needed for health: water.

Hanser declared, "With 'single file alignment water,' we may have found the Fountain of Youth." He explained that his water system "allows you to transform ordinary, filtered water into ultra-hydrating, 'living water' within 30 minutes. During the activation process, the chaotic structure of water molecules is transformed into a single-file alignment, mimicking the body's own natural state of healthy cell water, thereby creating optimally energized, bio-available water."

This single-file alignment of the water molecules is achieved not by any chemical process but by an LED pulsating light.

Hanser said, "Chaotically structured water is sort of like molasses. It's thick and not that absorbable." He described single file alignment water as a super liquid that also has an anti-bacterial effect.

Hanser said that the defensive line of a pro-football team is using single file alignment water as an athletic performance enhancer. So are marathon runners, equestrians, and professional tennis players. It's only water -- enhanced water -- not an illegal performance enhancer.

Hanser's water enhancement system doesn't purify water or change the pH. It just changes the structure of it. You can find more details about it on his website www.GIAwellness.com.

Personally I'm not a big fan of "special waters" of various kinds. The scientific evidence I've seen isn't strong enough, and my own experience with an alkalinizing water system left me unimpressed. As I mentioned, Hanser's system works on a different principal, but my advice would still be "Proceed with caution."

Our last issue discussed a cancer treatment where there IS impressive scientific evidence, and it costs a lot less than a countertop water machine. If you missed this important news, scroll down and get it now.

Cough Suppressant Now
a Proven Cancer Remedy
Could it be possible that a heavy-hitting cancer cure is right under our noses — available over the counter?

    So it would seem.

It's called noscapine. No matter how you look at it, this naturally-occurring compound that comes from poppy flowers appears to be a winner. It's backed by solid science and has virtually no side effects. A researcher who participated in one of the studies said noscapine could be the most effective tumor-suppressant ever. Keep reading for more about this overlooked wonder.

Noscapine has been used for years in over-the-counter cough medicines. But taken in high doses, it becomes a near-perfect cancer treatment — operating almost like chemotherapy, but without all the consequences.
The long road to "getting discovered" as a cancer treatment
The best source of noscapine is opium-producing poppy plants, but it can also be found in tomatoes and cabbage leaves. First discovered back in 1817, it's a compound with a colorful history. Originally (in the late 1800s) noscapine was used to treat malaria — though it wasn't very effective. Then in the 1930s, researchers realized noscapine had anti-cough properties. By 1958, it was used worldwide as a cough suppressant.

About that time, the National Cancer Institute ran some cell culture studies and realized noscapine had cancer-killing properties. But the substance was already patented as a cough suppressant, so further studies on anti-cancer benefits were dropped. Sponsoring drug companies didn't want to bother since they had no way to make a profit. The patent would run out before they could satisfy the FDA that noscapine is an effective cancer medicine.

This is hard to believe, but it's true. If you wonder why the health care system is so dysfunctional, look no further.

Fast-forward to 1997, when a grad student at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia — Keqiang Ye — rediscovered that noscapine kills cancer.

Emory scientists jumped on it and studied the effect of noscapine on human breast cancer tumors transplanted into animals. Results showed 80-percent tumor reduction in as little as three weeks, and with no obvious toxicity to vital organs. Immune systems in the animals also stayed functional, in direct contrast to the immune-suppressing effects of chemotherapy.

More studies followed, including one where noscapine was proven effective against malignant melanomas and certain kinds of brain cancer.

It was also confirmed that high, daily doses of noscapine were not only non-toxic, but that side-effects in humans were rare. One patient out of five would experience only mild side effects, like nausea and stomachache. I should add that noscapine users occasionally abuse the product, because a high dose is intoxicating. After all, it's an opium derivative.

Following the slew of promising studies, Emory scientists worked with scientists from the University of Delhi, in India, to chemically modify noscapine so they could get it patented and on the market as a cancer treatment.

By 2004, they had a new agent (but with the same anti-cancer properties). It was patented, and from there Emory gave Cougar Biotechnology of California the go-ahead to make a commercial version. In July 2009, Cougar Biotechnology was acquired by Johnson & Johnson as a wholly-owned subsidiary, but still manages preclinical trials of noscapine.

In other words, it's not FDA-approved yet as a cancer remedy, but many cancer patients are taking advantage of it anyway, since it's available over the counter.

I don’t personally know any patients who have tried it nor do I know what’s considered a therapeutic dose. Because it’s an opium product and may have the potential to be addictive, I can’t recommend noscapine for unsupervised home use until I have more information. It’s an exciting development, but still new and experimental.

In May we sent members of our "platinum club," the Alternative Cancer Research Institute, the first breaking news we had about noscapine. ACRI is dedicated to gathering every single alternative cancer remedy on earth into one place. We have more than 350 so far.

In spite of that enormous number of treatments, we keep coming across new ones, or important new information about treatments we already list. So twice a month ACRI members receive breaking news about a new cancer treatment.

PLUS when you join we send you a free 460-page soft cover book with all the treatments. The book is called the Complete Guide to Alternative Cancer Treatments. And it has a better claim to that boastful title than any other book on earth. We've shown it to research scientists who were in awe when they saw all the cancer treatments we've been able to gather.

Meanwhile, getting back to noscapine. . .
Three-fold anti-cancer properties
The anti-cancer potential of noscapine is impressive. For starters, it has powerful cell-killing abilities, meaning it can stop cell division. As a result, cancer cells can't replicate and spread.

Noscapine also stops angiogenesis — the formation of new tumor vessels that feed tumors. Inhibiting angiogenesis is a major goal of any cancer treatment. Noscapine can do this thanks to its ability to inhibit HIF-1 alpha. For science buffs, HIF-1 alpha is a transcription factor that supports VEGF, or vascular endothelial growth factor, which stimulates the growth of new blood vessels.

A third major benefit to this natural compound is that it inhibits bradykinin, which is a powerful cancer growth factor. Some studies show that agents with the ability to inhibit bradykinin are more effective than chemotherapy drugs at halting cancer cell growth.

As a result of these anti-cancer abilities, some doctors already use noscapine to treat the following cancers: breast, prostate, lung, ovarian, brain, and lymphomas.

Beyond that, the research continues to impress. In 2010, Current Drug Targets published a study that showed noscapine not only inhibited the growth and spread of leukemia cells, but also made them more vulnerable to chemotherapeutic agents.

Then last February, Medical Research published the results of a study that proved noscapine significantly induced apoptosis, or natural cell death, of Mg-63 tumor cells (found in osteosarcoma, a common type of bone tumor). It was one of the researchers involved in this study who said noscapine could be the most effective tumor-suppressant ever discovered.

There's even a doctor in San Diego — Dr. Israel Barken — known to treat his prostate cancer patients with noscapine. Dr. Barken posted study results on his website that showed noscapine curbed prostate cancer tumor volume in mice by significant amounts.
But here's what we're waiting on…
Now that the healing properties of noscapine are more well-known, cancer patients are using it to treat themselves. You can get it over the counter in most countries, and that includes the U.S. and Canada. In addition, we're seeing more and more reports of noscapine working where chemotherapy or conventional drugs fail.

Development is something of an issue, since producing noscapine can be labor-intensive (it requires the cutting open of individual poppy seed capsules). But a new study published online in Science last May shows promise for synthesizing noscapine to make production faster and easier.

So the future looks bright for this treatment. It's widely available, relatively cheap, has a good safety record, works synergistically with other drugs, and has low toxicity. Plus, more and more studies are confirming the pros of this promising natural substance.

Where we go next depends largely on the results of future studies and whether the medical community will embrace it as a standard cancer treatment.
