US Sports Golf The Golf Channel - Fact & Fiction and Scottie Scheffler makes his 2026 debut, Chris Gotterup wins The Sony Open

Golf is an increasingly popular sport, even today. It even has its own TV station, The Golf Channel. And the history of this cable TV phenomenon is quite fascinating, actually. Was its inception a stroke of luck or a stroke of genius? Both may very well be the case.

It all started as a result of Joseph Gibbs, a cable and cellular entrepreneur who offered to host a professional golfer during the 1990 PGA Championship. He was ecstatic when he learned that his boarders would be none other than Arnold and Winnie Palmer, who would be staying with him for a full week through the duration of the tournament. Needless to say, an instant connection and a friendship were forged. Their conversations spanned the range of golfing activity, leading up to the idea of a 24-hour cable network devoted entirely to their favorite sport.

A Gallup survey was then conducted to poll the public's opinion on the idea.Would Americans tune in to a golfing network? Turns out, the results were favorable for Joe Gibbs. Results showed a strong yearning for a new golf channel, and both Gibbs and Palmer were convinced that a new Golf Channel would be highly successful.

By the year 1995, over $80 million had been raised to launch the new station. During its debut, it had less than 1,000 cable subscribers. Here's another fun factoid to tell your golf friends: The very first live televised event on The Golf Channel was the Dubai Desert Classic, which aired on January 19, 1995.

It took four years for the network to reach "break-even" financial status, but ever since its debut year, The Golf Channel has steadily grown among its viewers in ratings and popularity. Many cable and satellite TV providers now offer this station as a regular part of their lineup, not part of a special subscription package. The Golf Channel is also regularly broadcast in Canada and Japan.

Current programming on The Golf Channel has further solidified the station's status as a golf Mecca. Programs include a daily golf news show called "Golf Central" as well as "College Central," which focuses solely on collegiate golfing. The station also airs highlight reels of famous tournaments, in case viewers don't have the time to watch the entire event. And there are several programs that feature PGA professionals eager to hand out golf tips and advice to help improve the viewer's golf game.

In recent years, The Golf Channel has also jumped on the reality TV bandwagon with "The Big Break," a successful program designed to help amateur golfers gain exemptions into PGA and LPGA events.

Another noteworthy programming event occurred in 2005 with "Big Stakes Golf," a special match play event in which teams of two paid a hefty entry fee of $100,000 to participate in a multimillion-dollar tournament. The winning team shared the pot of $3 million, which at that time was the largest prize award in golf history. The winners were mini-tour professionals Garth Mulroy and David Ping.

In the end, the brainchild of one entrepreneur and one recognizable golf pro turned into one of the best "dream-come-true" success stories. Their inspirational history can teach all of us to reach for the skies and follow our dreams, no matter how lofty -- because dreams can often become realities.

Wesley Ashton is a teaching golf pro who has been golfing forever and writing about it for only slightly less. His recent review of FootJoy DryJoys can be seen at ZipGolfer.com

The Rock Almighty. DEUTERONOMY OR GENESIS? AN INTER-CONTEXTUAL NARRATIVE CONVERSATION OF PAUL IN 1 CORINTHIANS 15:39-41 and Wake Up Call Wednesday. Gods Toughest Battles Are Reserved For You!

Abstract

David Burnett has proposed a Deuteronomic scriptural matrix as a crucial background for understanding Paul’s narration of the eschatological event of “the resurrection” in 1 Cor 15:20–28, as well as his articulation of the nature of the resurrection body (1 Cor 15:35–49). This article argues that 1 Cor. 15:39-41 has no direct affiliation with Deuteronomy but is a recreation of creation in Genesis 1:11-24. Moreover, I will suggest through an inter-contextual approach that the Deuteronomic passage is a reflection of Gen 1, which is the background for understanding Paul’s narration of resurrection and thereby call into question David Burnett's proposal made in the Scripture and Paul Series . The final part of the article offers some observations concerning the scholarly discussion on 1 Corinthians 15 and its attribution to Genesis.

Introduction

Discussions concerning the allusions Paul made in 1 Corinthians, whether his quotes are from written forms or oral traditions, and the possibility of his selection of alternative readings from the Old Testament is current ongoing research in the field of biblical studies. Occasionally, many scholars assume Paul’s quotation without questioning the validity of the sources. This appears to be the case with the quotation in 1 Cor. 15:39-41, which is almost attributed to Deuteronomy 4:15-19.

Flipping through the pages of Pauline's letters, Paul has quoted a well-recognized and quite a great number of Old Testament passages. In 1 Corinthians 15 v.27, Paul quotes Psalm 8:6. In v.32 he quotes from Isaiah 22:13…in v.33, and also quoted variant text in v.45. Paul cites Genesis 2:7, and in vv.54 and 55 he also alludes to Isaiah 25:8 and Hosea 13:14. When it comes to vv.39-41, it becomes the specific matter of concern in this paper. In this article, I will first examine the previous attempts to explain the origin of Paul’s quotation from Deut. 4:15-19. I will then argue that the most probable explanation for Paul’s curious wording is that contrary to the scholarly consensus proposed by Burnett, it never had anything to do with Deuteronomy in the first place, but an inter-contextual conversation in Genesis 1:11-24 instead.

Paper Statement

My motivations for this paper started during my graduate research on “Linguistic/Metaphoric Analysis of Paul’s Resurrection Discourse in 1 Cor. 15:35-49 and Its Eschatological Implications. While walking through the pages of Pauline’s corpus; I learned that Paul made a lot of quotations from the Old Testament in almost all of his epistles. Paul’s quotation in chapter 15:39-41 becomes the specific matter of concern in this paper. In 1 Corinthians, we find nineteen quotations. Eleven of these quotations are indicated as direct quotations “from a written source (1:19,31; 2:9; 3:19-20; 9:9; 10:7; 14:21; 15:45, 54-55); one referred to what is said in the Old Testament (6:16); four are given as reasons for statements without mentioning that they are from a written source (2:16; 10:26; 15:25,27), and three are stated without any introductory formula (5:13; 14:25; 15:35).”

B.J. Oropeza suggests that it would be helpful to be diligent about explaining what quotations are. Oropeza defines quotation (or citation) as a “set of words that have a close or fairly close agreement with another text with a citation formula (e.g., “It is written”) or unmarked”. Oropeza asserts that allusions, however, “are more difficult to discern”. The alluding text nonetheless has one or more agreements with another text, whether verbal, conceptual, perceptual, structural, syntactical, thematic or having common background. Echoes have been variously understood as subtle allusions, having conscious or unconscious intentions, or as a word or words drawn in from the context or thematic content of a text, or something else. Biblical scholars back then used echoes and allusions more-or-less interchangeably.

It would also be important to take note of the type of quotation Paul used in 1 Cor. 15:39-41. The quotation Paul used is neither in-text, nor direct quotation, but an allusion or echo. Why did Paul use this type of quotation that is more difficult to discern, knowing fully that the Corinthian Church were people who had a gentile background and had no understanding of the OT? I was not satisfied with B.J Oropeza’s opinion that Paul’s use of Scripture in the letter assumes that the Corinthians’ knowledge of Scripture is competent until I was left with no other option than to agree. Why would he assume that his 18-month ministry in the city is enough to provide them with answers as to where such allusions are being drawn?

Now we don’t have Paul or the Corinthians to tell us where this allusion is drawn from. When I joined the College and later joined the graduate studies; these concerns were not raised in any of the lectures I had. Recently, however, the question has received attention from Scripture and Paul Series. This is an indication that the Functions of Scriptural Quotations is a topic about which contemporary scholars are starting to inquire.

There is a blend of debates among biblical scholars as to where Paul was drawing this allusion. Burnett argues that the list of earthly and heavenly creatures that Paul mentioned in 1 Cor 15:39–42 follows the same order as Deut 4:15–19. Burnett is on the opinion that if this is the text to which Paul quoted, he may be drawing on an exegetical tradition in the Second Temple period that reads Deut 4:15–19 to describe the nature of the cosmos, created and administered by God, having appointed the celestial bodies delegates in his cosmic polis. On the contrary, B.J Orepoza, argues that Paul was alluding to the creation in Genesis 1 in which plants yielded their seed are created on the third day (Gen 1:11–12). I agree with the latter submission of Oropeza that “Paul’s use of Scripture in the letter assumes that the Corinthians’ knowledge of Scripture is competent”.

Literary Context Deuteronomy 4:15-19

Before analyzing the wording of 1 Cor. 15:39-41 and its relation to Deut. 4:15-19, it is useful to briefly examine its immediate context, which plays a role in the argumentation.

15 You saw no form of any kind the day the LORD spoke to you at Horeb out of the fire. Therefore, watch yourselves very carefully, 16 so that you do not become corrupt and make for yourselves an idol, an image of any shape, whether formed like a man or a woman, 17 or like any animal on earth or any bird that flies in the air, 18 or like any creature that moves along the ground or any fish in the waters below. 19 And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon, and the stars—all the heavenly array—do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things the LORD your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven.

Burnett asserts that the literary context of “Deut 4:35 and 39, starts with a reference to the greatness of God’s work in the creation of humankind (4:32), then moves directly into God’s work in the creation of a people in the exodus (4:33–40), indicating a strong link between the creation of humankind and the exodus/election of Israel as previously noted” .

In contrast to Burnett’s literary work, Adam Pohlman placed the literary Context of this passage in the concluding portion of Moses’ first speech to the Israelites entering Canaan. In the first three chapters, Moses recounted the journey from Egypt to Mount Sinai through the Wilderness and finally to the Jordan River. The fourth chapter progresses from there to give a directive on what Yahweh expects from his people. It introduces many of the themes which are prominent throughout the rest of Deuteronomy 1. Chapter 4:15-19 fall within a segment in which Moses makes a particular application of devotion to Yahweh based on Israel’s experience on Mount Horeb. If the view on the immediate context of Deuteronomy 4:15-19 by Polman is correct, then it could be another indication that Paul did not intend the passage to be where his analogy is drawn from. The immediate context of this passage, which speaks of devotion to Yahweh based on mount Horeb's experience, then it does not tally with Paul’s argument in 1 Cor. 15.

Literary Context of Genesis 1:11-24

The opening of Genesis 1:1—2:3 begins with the creation account of the heavens and earth. Genesis 2:4 begins with the words, “this is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made earth and heaven” and continues through Genesis 4:26 which traces what became of the universe God had so marvelously created. Therefore, the connection between Gen 1 and 2 does not mean the two narratives are exact parallel accounts of creation, but two complementary perspectives in contrast to each other.

The first pericope gives the overview, while the second provides more details. Genesis 1:11-24 best fits within the known biblical genre of historical narrative, communicating a very quick and recent creation, consistent with the traditional understanding of 6 successive days of 24-hour duration. Here we see the literal ‘genesis of all things, the very beginning as God, by his word, creates, out of nothing, all that there is and places mankind, made in his image, amid a perfect creation.

1 Cor.15:39-41: Recreation of Creation in Gen. 1:11-24

1 Cor. was written in reply to Stephanus’ and his companions’ report of the situation in Corinth (1 Cor. 16:15– 18), which told of the rejection of traditional moral discipline, intercourse with prostitutes, open participation in heathen temple meals, cluttered innovations in the celebration of the Lord’s supper, and rejection of belief in a future bodily resurrection. For Paul, the Church at Corinth should live in the light of eschatology, anticipating a future glory yet to be unveiled, and they also have some level of participation in that glory in the present.

Cosner asserts that in 1 Corinthians 15, Paul gives a sustained argument for the bodily resurrection of the dead. Cosner continued to say throughout Paul’s argument in the epistle, he alludes back to the Creation and Fall accounts that depict historical events. Paul saves the subject of the bodily Resurrection until the end of the epistle because it is the topic for which the Corinthians pose the greatest challenge, one that he needs to approach with the most caution. The section, beginning in verse 35, is Paul’s response to questions about how the dead are raised. The Chapter moves in a 2 logical sequence, describing the nature of our bodily resurrection, and finally describing in the final verses, the specifics of who will be resurrected.

In verses 39-41, Paul introduces analogies from different kinds of bodies that were common to everyone. There is a blend of debates among biblical scholars as to where Paul was drawing this allusion. Burnett argues that Paul enumerates a list of creatures who inhabit the earth followed by those who inhabit the heavens…in the same order as the aniconic discourse of Deuteronomy 4:15–19 rather than Genesis 1. After that, Paul seeks to demonstrate these bodies through a list of terrestrial and celestial creatures in 1 Cor 15:39–42, which not only follows the same order of creatures as enumerated in the aniconic discourse of Deut 4:15–20 but also links it with the context of Deut 4 in his arguments addressing idolatry in 1 Corinthians 8:1–11:1.

Burnett continues to argue that Paul has likely had the text of Deuteronomy in mind since 1 Cor 8, and strategically employs it again here. Across these viewpoints is one common problem I see in Burnett’s argument. Burnett understood this passage as a theme for moral theology or Christian ethics. Burnett’s argument is a failure to attend carefully to how Paul uses the term σῶµα in 1 Corinthians 15. Paul used σῶµα for the individual human body and the corporate believers (1 Corinthians 6); of the eucharistic body of Christ, (1 Corinthian 10-11); of the ecclesial body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12-14); of cosmic and other natural bodies (1 Corinthians 15:40); and soulish and spiritual bodies (1 Corinthians 15:40). In view of Pauline’s theology of the body, Nelson unveils that Paul meant that the style of our Christian belief will be influenced by how we experience ourselves and others.

Paul’s theology of the body in this passage is far beyond the idea of moral theology or Christian ethics promoted by Burnett. B.J Orepoza, also argues that Paul was alluding to the creation in Genesis 1 in which plants yielded their seed created on the third day (Gen 1:11–12). I agree with the latter submission of Oropeza that “Paul’s use of Scripture in the letter assumes that the Corinthians’ knowledge of Scripture is competent,” because whatever passage Paul refers to; it must have been like a piece of common knowledge for the believers in Corinth. Cosner in the same way argues that the comparison between the First and Last Adams in this argument “seems to break the flow of the argument begun in 15:35.” But this is not the case if one understands that Paul has the first chapters of Genesis in mind throughout the chapter. Here Cosner asserts that all the quotations from Paul in this chapter are from Genesis 1. Cosner also adds that there can be no doubt that Paul intends this entire chapter to be an exposition of the renewal of creation, and the renewal of humankind as its focal point.” Paul might not have explicitly/directly quoted the Genesis creation narrative in v.39-41, but it is clearly in his mind during this whole passage.

Although Burnett argues that “v.39-41” has to do with the warning language of Moses to Israel in Deut. 4, I suggest that Paul is, moreover, aware of the varied cultural, social, and economic backgrounds of the Corinthians whom he is addressing. Therefore, Paul may have already taught the congregation the creation narrative so deeply that it became easier for them to identify where the allusion is drawn from. Joseph A. Fitzmyer also holds the view that Paul is indirectly alluding to the creation account of Gen 1:11–12: “. . . fruit trees bearing fruit, in which is their seed, each according to its kind” … there is one kind for human beings, another for animals, another for birds, and another for fish. In the terrestrial realm, Joseph affirms that Paul chooses examples of the diversity of flesh, and they are given in a descending order of intricacy, which reverses the order of creation in Gen 1:20–27. In the same lens, N.T. Wright describes the arch of this chapter as paralleling the creation of the cosmos and mankind in Genesis 1 - 3, with an emphasis on the “renewal of creation, and the renewal of humankind as its focal point.”

Cosner continues to project Paul drawing his themes for the arguments directly from the creation narrative, using images that his audience would be familiar with from everyday life; images of the seed and the plant, …in verse 39, he alludes in reverse order to the creation of various animals in Genesis 1:20–27, and in verse 40 he also brings in heavenly bodies as well. Cosner affirms that “Paul’s point is that God, who created bodies of such known and diverse splendor, has also made human bodies of present and future existence, which may be quite diverse and beyond our present comprehension.” James D.G Dunn also affirms that, according to the Apocalypse of Moses, "the throne of God was made ready where the tree of life was" (22.4) and that the promise to a faithful Adam was of resurrection and renewed access to the tree of life. God, who created all things, is powerful enough to rework and restore bodies from whatever materials or lack of them remain.

Conclusion

Paul’s argument in 1 Corinthians 15 only comes together as a coherent whole when one realizes that the imagery of different kinds of bodies in the Creation and Fall narratives is constantly in Paul’s mind. I hope to have shown that my suggestion that Paul quotes only Genesis 1:11-24 is more acceptable than the view based on Deut. 4:15-19. It appears that most scholars have not even noticed the argument of the view in Deuteronomy 4. In future discussions, anyone arguing that Paul quotes Deuteronomy in 1 Cor. 15 should explain the immediate context of both two passages. I also argue that the language of different kinds of bodies in 1 Cor. 15:39-41 does not sit well in the context of Deuteronomy 4:15-19.

I have argued against the Deuteronomic scriptural matrix Burnett made in the scripture and Paul series. Burnett explains Deuteronomy as a crucial background for understanding Paul’s narration of the nature of the resurrection body in 1 Cor 15:39–41, whereas I consider Genesis 1 to be more plausible than Deuteronomy. While numerous scholars notice that Paul’s wording does not correspond to Deuteronomy 4:15-19 and shows an awareness of the strangeness of the assumed quotation, they nevertheless do not question the consensus that 1 Cor. 15:39-41 is based on Genesis 1:11-24.

The Rock Almighty: Don Lemon Believes Homosexuality is not a SIN and Tuesday Wake-Up Call. Is Scott Jennings Sent Of The Lord?

Don Lemon, being with CNN, is a well-known person or famous personality, and when this kind of personality makes a public comment on such things as homosexuality and the Bible, it is more than likely that such comment will garner some kind of attention.

Don Lemon said Christ was not Perfect

Mr. Lemon has made certain comments that are not in tune with the truth of the Bible. First of all, he made the surprising comment that Jesus Christ was not perfect. During a discussion on CNN about the removal of public monuments, Mr. Lemon made this statement to Chris Cuomo: “Jesus Christ, if that’s who you believe in, Jesus Christ, admittedly was not perfect when he was here on earth.”

One must first ask: just where did Mr. Lemon get such understanding or on what knowledge does he have of the Bible to prove that Christ did not live a perfect life? On the contrary, the Bible shows that Christ had to be sinless and thereby perfect – in order to pay the penalty for the sins of the world – and there are many scriptures testifying to the fact that Christ was perfect and never sinned; For example, 1 Peter 2:22 declares: “Who did no sin, neither was guile in his mouth.”

This is a very dangerous statement or belief that Mr. Lemon holds on the person and character of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was literally God in the flesh and is the very Word of God – who existed with God in eternity (see John 1:1); it was HE who God used to create the Universe and the earth. Hebrews 1:10 says, “And, thou, LORD, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the work of thine hands.” This is God the Father acknowledging the power and greatness of the one who became Jesus Christ in the flesh. If you back up to verse 8, it says, “But unto the Son he saith, thy throne, O God is forever …” Here is God the Father addressing his Son saying, “Oh God.” I do not believe Mr. Lemon has this view of Jesus Christ when he said Christ was not perfect; I do not believe Mr. Lemon has grasped the magnificence and power of the one who became Christ.

To say that Christ was not perfect implies that HE did wrong or made mistakes – thus, leading to the notion that Christ sinned or that HE was a sinner. If you consider this, Mr. Lemon is saying that Almighty God, the Father would have been wrong in accepting Jesus Christ as the sinless atoning sacrifice for the sins of mankind; does Mr. Lemon know better than God?

When Christ was on earth the people of his day wanted to stone him because they did not recognize his divinity as God in the flesh – and they then accused him of blasphemy. Jesus then said to them: “Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, thou blasphemest, because I said I am the Son of God?” (See John 10:33, 36). Notice, God the Father sanctified and sent Christ into the world; sanctified means to set apart for holy uses and purpose. When you consider the sanctity of the life of Christ, in relation to what Mr. Lemon said about Christ not being perfect – is in fact a blasphemous statement and a very serious one, one that Mr. Lemon does need to reconsider.

Is Homosexuality a SIN?

On the popular show call The View, Mr. Lemon pointed out that it was wrong to believe that homosexuality is a sin because it hurts other people.

Mr. Lemon has seemingly concluded that it is wrong to believe homosexuality is a sin because if you believe it is a sin, then it hurts, and if it hurts other people then homosexuality cannot be a sin.

It is clearly evidenced in the Bible that homosexuality is a sin. You can go as far back as the book of Genesis to see that God created the male and female relationship; He created the woman to be man’s companion and helper; He did not create man to be in relationship with another man as husband and wife - as such is contrary to the will of God; God intended this to be strictly husband and wife relation; this is also why God said the human pair should be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 2:28). Two men cannot produce children or offspring.

God destroyed the cites of Sodom and Gomorrah for the sins of homosexuality was also going on there. You read in Genesis 19 that the men of Sodom surrounded the home of Lot -demanding that Lot send out the two men (or angels appearing in human form) who were in Lot’s home. Notice how verse 4, 5 records the actions of the men of Sodom: “But before they lay down, the men of the city of Sodom, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter. And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, where are the men which came into thee this night? Bring them out unto us, that we may know them.”

The men of Sodom did not just want to know the two men on a personal level but wanted to have intimate or homosexual relation with them, because if you look further down to verse 7,8 you will see Lot pleading with the men to not do this wicked thing of having sexual relation with the men, and even offered up his own daughters to the men, but the men did not want sexual relation with women, they desired a homosexual relation. We know God destroyed the city for their wickedness.

If you go to Leviticus 18:22, God says, “You shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind; it is an abomination.” The word “lie,” mean to have sexual relation; man is prohibited from having sex with another man.

God does not relax or changes his moral standard – for if you go over to 1 Corinthians 6:9 it tells you that neither idolaters, nor adulterers, “nor effeminate, nor abuser of themselves with mankind” are going to be in the kingdom of God. The word effeminate comes from a Greek word which refers to a catamite; a catamite in ancient Greece and Rome was a boy around the age of puberty who was in an intimate relation with an older male – meaning a homosexual relationship. The apostle Paul also spoke of these as “abusers of themselves with mankind.” The word abuser refers to a Sodomite – meaning the person who engages in homosexual activities with other people. If you read this passage of the Bible from the New American Standard Bible, it plainly uses the word “homosexual.”

People may try to reason around or try to justify homosexuality, but they will never be able to change the truth of God. God has made known that homosexuality is wrong; there is no way that mankind is ever going to reason his way out of God’s truth.

Don Lemon said it hurts other people to say that homosexuality is wrong; he says this because he wishes to justify the wrongful desires of the human heart; that kind of heart wants nothing to do with the truth of God – because that truth is like a shining light that exposes the evils of men and cuts like a knife. Notice what Hebrew 4:12 has to say: “For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intent of the heart.”

It is not what men say, but more about what God’s truth says about man’s spiritually depraved condition; God pulls no punches when it comes to sin – as He calls out things the way they are. The homosexuals would like to hear smooth things about their spiritual condition; they want the world to cave in to their wrong way of living and make them feel their lifestyle is justified and must therefore be accepted; they do not want the truth of God that says this is wrong, and even the so-called Christian churches of today are failing to call out this sin of homosexuality -and the nation and our leaders are just going along with it- fearing to give voice or calling it out as sin. Isaiah 68:1 Declares: “Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sin.”

The Bible says, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Proverbs 14: 12). To justify the sin of homosexuality, Mr. Lemon and all those who want to believe homosexuality is not wrong are simply going the way that seems right to them - because they do not wish to believe what God says in his words; as Jesus said, “men love darkness rather than light (John 3:19). But be that as it may, the homosexual will never change God’s truth or the fact that homosexuality is sin.

I am aware that if I was some famous personality saying something like this, my head would be on the chopping block, because there would be those who would rise up in anger against me for writing this truth, but it is not my truth, but the truth that comes from God’s words; I am merely pointing people to the truth; and I also want to make the closing point that despite all this, God does not hate the homosexual community, neither does he hate Don Lemon; what God hates is the wrong that people do, and he does punish the wrong; and even when God punishes, he does it not out of hate or spite but to correct people; to get them to see they are living or going the wrong way. God says, "Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that he should turn from his ways and live..." (Ezekiel 33:11). If Don Lemon, were to die, God would take no pleasure in his death - despite what he said about Christ not being perfect.

Been a student the Bible for decades, and do write religious articles in my spare time.

My goal here is to simply pass on the truth of Bible to those willing to see it or to answer questions a person may have on a Biblically related subject.

The Rock Almighty, America: An Appeaser Nation and Monday Wake Up Call. We Are Not A Monolith!

-Garfield Gregoire
Believe it or not, we are living in the most dangerous time in human history – where world troubles are soon to erupt on scales that had never before happened in all of human history; this will be the time where Jesus said, “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved …” (Matthew 24:21,22).

Terrible times are just ahead of us, and the things happening in the world – such as the enmity or hostility between nations, and especially with the adversarial relationship that Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran has toward the United States, - along with the Middle East conflict – all greatly figures in bringing about the escalation of world troubles – that will be to the detriment of the United States.

Do You Think God Would Fail to Mention the United States?

God our creator has not failed to mention nations and cities – such as Babylon, the Grecian empire, the Persian Empire, the Roman empire – including cities like Ashkelon, Sodom and Gomorrah; even Russia and China are mentioned in prophecy; why then would God fail to make mention of the single greatest nation – The United States of America?

The truth is that God has not at all failed to mention the United States; this nation is in prophecy, and God has foretold those things to befall our people – who are in fact the descendants of the ancient people of Israel. Time and space here would certainly not allow me to write at length detailing this truth about America, but I have provided a website information at the very end of this article - so that anyone interested in understanding where America is spoken of in prophecy, can go there to learn more.

We Are Afraid to Use our Military Power

America has truly been a great nation; we used our military strength and power to help our Allies win World War II, and we developed and dropped the nuclear bombs on Japan – leading to the surrender of Japan. But if you think back that after World War II, America has not been successful in winning wars as we did before; we did not win the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and other ambiguous outcome with Iraq and Afghanistan – of which both the Vietnam and Afghan war represents a shameful pull out that reflects a weakness and reluctance on the part of America to stay the course in military conflicts; and our adversaries, Russia and China are seizing upon this unwillingness on the part of the United States. Most commentators and analysts are likely to conclude that Russia attacked Ukraine because of our shameful withdrawal from Afghanistan; by this, we are letting our adversaries know that we neither have the backbone nor the will to stand up to aggressor nations. President Ronald Reagan said: “… every lesson in history tells us that the greater risk lies in appeasement, and this is the specter our well - meaning liberal friends refuse to face – that their policy of accommodation is appeasement, and it gives no choice between peace and war, only between fight and surrender …”

Men should surely strive to avoid war at all costs, but the nation that shows weakness in the eyes of its adversaries is sending a dangerous message or signal that will result in more harm than good; and yet, it seems that our leaders in Washington have NOT understood this simple truth.

The nation has seemingly become more and more appeasing to those who people or country that hates the United States; we all have seen how the United States have continued to appease China – by sending our ambassadors over and over again – making all kinds of weak appeasing gestures to the administration of that country – while blinding our eyes to the fact that China hates the United States.

Our leaders continue to talk and talk about having China as a partner – while failing to see that China’s intent is to bring us down. China has become so bold that they sent a spy balloon into the United States to spy on us, and instead of apologizing for what they did, they were angry that the United States shot down the balloon; what does that tell you about the nature and intent of the Chines Government? And Russia is also dancing to the same beat as China, as they have been emboldened to bring down America’s drone out of the sky – causing it to crash in the Black Sea; The Russian Ambassador to the USA blamed the USA saying they viewed this incident as a provocation; Russia blamed the United States.

We also know that Iran has been attempting to acquire nuclear weapons and is the number one state sponsor of terrorism in the Middle East. The United States had sanctions in place that prevented Iran from selling oil so it would be deprived of the financial means to fund and sponsor terrorism on levels that it is now able to do, but the foolish United States has lifted those sanctions, and in addition, have rewarded Iran with $6 billion. Is this not foolish to reward an adversary who not only hates the United States but is also bent on destroying us; they even have their proxies in Iraq and Syria firing missiles at American bases in that region over and over again. Just ask yourself, it is this not an act of war for other people to be firing at the armies of another country; why would a nation as the United Sates – having the greatest military and weaponry allow this to happen? Why do we lack the willingness to deter this kind of action?

God has longed prophesied of this weakness on the part of the United States; In Leviticus 26:19, God says, “And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass.”

Few may understand that this passage of the bible contains a dual prophecy – meaning a prophecy that fits with the people of Moses’ day, but its final fulfillment is for our time; God speaks of great nations – the United States and Britain – who have been the great powers on this earth; America had been the super power nation – the greatest single nation and the people took pride in its unique national blessings and military greatness, but God said HE would break the pride we have in that power. The word POWER come from a Hebrew word which means, might, force or that which gives us a sense of security; this is speaking of or involve our military power. This means we would feel so pridefully assured that our great military capability and power would be there to protect us, but now God has been breaking our pride in that military power to the extent that we do have a mighty military, but we do NOT have the will to engage that military in fighting and winning wars; we would, instead, become and appeaser nation – trying to talk down our adversaries – while they aggressively feed upon our weakness – by insulting and threatening us; and this is the state of affairs in the United States.

On the other hand, the Bible reveals that Judah – the people we call Israel – in the Middle East, would be strong in dealing with their enemies; Genesis 49:9 says, “Judah is a lion’s whelp; … he couched as a lion, and as an old lion …” A lion is the king of beast and can be a terror to others and is resolute as it attacks its prey; this is somewhat symbolic of the military of Israel -who has responded to the Hamas Terrorist attack upon its soil. Of course, all people should be able to live in peace with one another, but humanity does not know the way to peace; the bible says, “The way of peace they know not …” (Isaiah 59:8). This is why Jesus Christ is coming as the new world ruler to show mankind the way to peace and to save us from ourselves.

The resolve of Israel and its willingness to win is quite different than the United States or its leadership which seem to be on this seemingly never -ending course of appeasement. I can tell you whatever response or action the United States takes in the Middle East, the end result is NOT going to be good for this nation; and it is all because we have forgotten God and is a nation filled with immorality.

In his continuing statement on appeasement, Mr. Reagan went to say: “… and someday when the time comes to deliver the final ultimatum, our surrender will be voluntary, because by that time, we will have been weakened from within, spiritually, morally, and economically …’ These words of Mr. Reagan seem prophetic – because we have been on this course of spiritual and moral decline. The future for America is bleak and it may already be too late to change the course of this nation; the writing is already on the wall - for just as God, through the prophet Daniel, told the King of Babylon that God had numbered the kingdom and finished it, even so is the United States numbered; we are going down – down, because we have rejected God!

I would urge the reader to watch the events unfolding in the Middle East and America’s response to all that is going on – as this crisis will never allow the world to be the same anymore. The Good news is that all this is leading up to the greatest event to take place in the Universe – the second coming of Christ. Christ did say, “And what I say unto you, I say unto all, Watch” (Mark 13:37).

The Officer Tatum Show on US Sports Radio: NOW Tim Walz IN TROUBLE After LATEST Trump Announcement

I react to the chaos coming from the left, starting with Ben Shapiro going on Gavin Newsom’s podcast and exposing the political deflection and word games around basic issues like biology and immigration. From there, we get into Minnesota unrest, talk of the Insurrection Act, and the media narrative versus what’s actually happening on the ground. I also break down the viral protest clips, ICE enforcement, and why common sense still matters.
