CHARLOTTE, N.C.
- The Central Intercollegiate Athletic
Association (CIAA) has selected the men's and women's 2017 CIAA
All-Rookie Team, in conjunction with its Sports Information Directors
Association and Basketball Coaches Association.
Of
those honored Bowie State’s Kyaja Williams (Baltimore, Md.) was named
to the women’s All-Rookie Team and junior Kyah Proctor (Capital
Heights, Md.) was selected to the All-CIAA First Team. Williams is
averaging a team-high 8.2 rebounds per game to go along with 7.2 points
per game while Proctor leads the team in scoring average (13.7).
Bowie State’s men had one player honored on Sunday,
as redshirt freshman David Belle (Hyattsville, Md.) was named to the
All-Rookie Team.
Belle has played in all 26 games so far this season, starting eight, is
averaging 5.7 points per game and 2.7 rebounds per game. His best game
of the year (17 points) occurred at West Chester (11/26/16).
