Hunting, Protecting and Collecting: All About Guns
By: Zac Hales
Under the Second Amendment to the Constitution, We as U.S. citizens have the right to bear arms. The Constitutional right to own and possess firearms is one that few countries have. Here in the U.S., we have more guns per person than any other country. Having the right doesn’t mean that everyone owns a gun; here are three reasons why people choose to purchase firearms.
Hunting: For as long as guns have been in existence they’ve been used for hunting. Firearms hold serious advantages over bows in terms of power and range. With a hunting rifle, a hunter can hit their target well beyond double the distance they could with a bow. In addition to the range advantage, it’s easier to obtain a kill shot with a rifle.
Collecting: Just about anything can be collected, and guns are no exception. Each gun collector collects for a different reason. Some collectors focus on historical firearms. Others, own modern guns of varying types and calibers. Still, other collectors take an interest in the evolution of guns and own both historical and modern firearms.
Protection: You don’t need to watch the news to know that we live in a dangerous world. Many gun owners purchase firearms for self-defense. It’s not uncommon for U.S. citizens to keep guns in their homes for home protection. Every day, more and more people are taking classes and obtaining concealed firearm licenses. Though no one ever wants to be in a situation where they have to pull a gun, many would agree that it’s better to be safe than sorry.
Whatever your reasons for buying guns, they have to come from somewhere. In addition to buying retail goods and groceries online, today’s world also allows for online purchases of firearms. When purchasing guns online, be careful in selecting the merchant using only reputable websites.
Unlike other products, firearms that are purchased online can’t be shipped directly to your door. Instead, guns are sent to a Federal Firearm License (FFL) dealer of your choosing. Once the FFL dealer has received your gun, you can pick it up at their store after completing the necessary background check.
Purchasing firearms online is often a great way to find deals and save money. Using the internet to buy guns also broadens the selection that is available to you. Before buying guns online, do your research on the dealer and ultimately, use your best judgment.

Almost every human on the earth does not grasp that he or she has a unique God-given purpose in life given to them while in their mother’s womb, including believers. Hence the convenient action they exercise is to either get a university education, or copy what profession a successful friend is doing in life or both. It follows suit that if you are unaware that I gave you a gift, you are unlikely to unwrap it and start using it. In the same manner, if you do not know that there is a unique destiny deposited in you by God, you will unlikely search for it, let alone fulfill it. The destiny of individuals is not ordained by chance but by divine arrangement. Many people live as such that, what will be, will be, or if it is mine, then it is mine. The latter is a key form of living by chance and not by destiny. Anyone operating outside of his or her God-given destiny may experience some measure of success but will not live a fulfilled life; but when he or she finds destiny, a sense of overflowing joy, peace, favor, victory and much success becomes the person’s portion. Oftentimes, someone’s purpose in life is not realized through a formal education, but through a divine revelation. There are many humans who replace destiny with a formal education, and end up unhappy and dissatisfied after graduating from college, and working a job which they really hate and dread going to every morning. For example, statistics shows that more than eighty-five percent of employees on the United States of America hate their jobs. Note: It is only confirms that more than eighty-five percent of employees in the USA have not discovered their God-given destiny, because our Lord will not give you a destiny that will allow you to struggle and become miserable. Some of the few people who understand that they have a high calling or destiny given by God, go about looking for it in the wrong places, and end up quitting and settling for the next best profession. In the discovery of a God-given destiny, the Holy Spirit is the best helper. You need to go to a quiet place, be conscious of His indwelling presence in you, and continually praise and worship God for an hour each day to activate the Holy Spirit, ask Him to reveal your destiny to you, listen for the voice of the Holy Spirit or the voice of your spirit, and act accordingly. There are times an individual’s destiny may seem menial, but at the end of the day, he or she will be elevated and begin to dine with Kings, princes and rulers of nations. This is a key reason our Lord mentioned in His Word: "Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand". Also, when athletes run a sprint race, no one cares about how fast they take off, but how fast they finish the race. It is said that the greater an individual’s destiny, the greater his or her challenges. This is a major reason the Generals of God such as; Jesus, Moses, David, Joseph, Job, Daniel, Abraham went through the great storms of life, after which they began to enjoy life to the fullest. Everyone has at least one gift or talent, which should be used to fulfill his or her purpose in life; put it to use and not waste it. Note: God does not like wastage of any benefits He endows to man. Begin to seek after and find your God-given destiny, and not a duplicate of another human’s destiny.
My name is Jimi Akanbi. I am a Christian Author based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. I obtained an MBA in Finance in year 2004. I have been through the greatest storms of life. That is any and everything that can make a man commit suicide. Upon all, I am still standing. Perhaps this is the major reason God gave me the gift of writing for His Kingdom. Who better to counsel His people, than one who has experienced challenges and victory?

In the wake of the Olympia, Victoria D’Ariano reflects on competing and explains why she doesn’t think you should be in a rush to do so:
As competing is becoming more and more popular, the demand is increasing. Everyone is eager to hit the stage and compete in his or her first show. This blog will be about competing and why you SHOULD NOT rush to the stage. Coming from personal experience, rushing to compete is my biggest regret.
I have been an athlete my entire life, with competitive swimming as my main sport. I swam from the age of 5 to the age of 20. I would train 4-5 hours a day, six days a week. When I retired from varsity level swimming, I had a lot of time and I needed something else to channel my time and energy into. As I have always been active, I found myself in the gym – a lot. I started weight training and shortly became hooked. I would read articles off Bodybuilding.com and purchase all of the Women’s fitness and health magazines to learn more. I also started following multiple fitness competitors on Instagram and soon I was introduced to the world of competing.
At first I didn’t understand competitions: the fake tan, the dolled up makeup, the suits. The whole thing seemed strange to me. Since I had trained my entire life to race against a clock, training to display something on stage was a concept I needed to get used to, and fully take in. The more I followed, the more I was intrigued. I made a couple of friends at the gym and they were both preparing for shows of their own. My competitive instincts began to grow and I decided I was going to compete, and in 14 weeks time.
Without fully understanding what goes into preparation for a show, and what it can do to your body, I looked for a coach. I did no research at all, and ended up choosing the one my friend was working with at the time. If you know me on a personal level, you know I am a bit crazy – describing myself as dedicated would be an understatement. I was given the plan, and I did exactly what I was told. I followed everything to a T and never thought twice or questioned what I was doing.
At the time I was enrolled in the Bio Medical program at Western University and was studying mainly sciences. I knew nothing about nutrition, nothing. Following the program, and a strict diet I had never followed before, I got lean, and very quickly. I fell in love with the process because I was seeing my body change and looking so different, something I had never experienced before. My show quickly approached and I ended up winning. I still remember the thrill and adrenaline rush of being on stage for the very first time. I loved it, and knew this was something I would be doing for a long time coming.
SO WHY WOULD I REGRET GETTING INTO COMPETING SO SOON WHEN I WON?
Let me point out a few things I did wrong (very wrong) prior to competing in my first competition. The first being, I knew NOTHING about what competing was and what it does to your body. The second, I knew NOTHING about nutrition and what is healthy and not healthy regarding a diet during contest prep. The third, I rushed into getting a coach, when I knew NOTHING about the person, or their credentials. But I won right? So what’s the big deal? The big deal is that this sport is about LONGEVITY, not about doing just one show and then never being able to compete again due to the severe damage you may have caused to your body by not knowing the top three points.
Let me mention these points again to make them very, very clear:
I knew NOTHING about what competing was and what it does to your body.
I knew NOTHING about nutrition and what is healthy and not healthy regarding a diet during contest prep.
I rushed into getting a coach, when I knew NOTHING about the person, or their credentials.
If you are about to compete in your very first show and you’re missing any of those points, please take a step back. Let me get one thing across to you: competitions are always there. There is no rush to compete, especially if you are going to harm yourself while getting there. Looking amazing and winning a trophy for one day and one day only is not worth the repercussions you might be dealing with after the show when you realized you rushed things.
I rushed things. I acknowledge that now, and due to rushing it, I actually set myself back. Instead of progressing after competing, I regressed. And in order for myself to compete again, I had to take two full years off competing to allow my body to regulate again and get back to “normal.”
I am not telling you this to scare you, but to inform you. Competitions are always there, but after going into a show unprepared and uneducated, your health may not be.
Please, before you compete, EDUCATE YOURSELF not only on what goes into contest prep (the dieting, the mental aspect), but also on who you are going to work with. Do they have credentials? Do they have a good track history with their athletes? Have their athletes done more than one show, or is their body impaired due to poor dieting?
There is NEVER A RUSH in competing. Always put yourself and your health before the stage and a first place trophy. I wish I were told this before I started because I would have done a lot of things differently.
Please, before you compete, read these three points; understand them and have answers for them before you hit the stage. You might not compete as soon as you like, but you will thank yourself later for taking the time to answer these questions before competing.
REMEMBER, THE STAGE WILL ALWAYS BE THERE.
