Dante joined the Upper Iowa University football staff for his first season in 2018-19 as an assistant coach. Bartee coaches the linebackers for the Peacocks.
Bartee comes to Fayette from Tempe, Arizona where he has coached at Perry High School in Gilbert for the last four years.
At Perry, Bartee began his coaching career early on. As a junior and senior, he helped the coaching staff with film analysis and scout teams. Beginning in 2014, Bartee was part of the coaching staff for the varsity team at Perry; he was 18. In Bartee's second season he was the co-defensive coordinator before taking the role on his own over the last two seasons.
While coaching with the Pumas, Bartee completed his Bachelors Degree in justice studies at Arizona State University in December 2017.

This is the moment a robber attempting to hold up a store in Pennsylvania with a BB gun was challenged by a shopkeeper wielding his own weapon. A shopkeeper in western Pennsylvania, USA has foiled an attempted robbery by a suspect who entered his shop armed with a BB gun. (Video below)

 The footage shows the suspect, named by local police as 42-year-old James Hayes, entering the shop and confronting the shopkeeper with the air gun. Not allowing himself to be intimidated by the threat, the shop keeper reaches below the counter and pulls out his own firearm. After a brief stand off, the pair brawl, knocking down a display, until the shop keeper manages to chase the thief out of his store.

A unique "kickboxing" class is held multiple times a week in the rural community of Leon, IA. Volunteers teach the various classes each week of that consist of boxing, grappling, kickboxing, or more depending on who is teaching. Regardless of what the class is the community just refers to it as "kickboxing class". The group has existed for a year and has gone without a true home or even a name. Despite the lack of a steady location, name, or resources the group at times has over 40 people come through classes in a week. The attendees are diverse and not typically what you would find at a combat sports gym. Local health care professionals often refer people to the classes to improve their physical or mental health. Referrals are often those who are overweight, diabetic, victims of assault or domestic violence, or struggle with depression/anxiety. The classes are for anyone and open to the public making it a wide array of people.

Over a year ago a group of women some of which were victims of domestic violence requested that I set up a self defense class. Tigers Den MMA instructors taught those initial classes. Because of the value to the community we just haven't let the classes die as instructors have come and gone. Currently there are classes for kids, women, youth boxing, and those with chronic health conditions. One of the unique personalities and stand out students attending class is 24 year old Teyonni Walling. She attends or assists at almost every single class session each week. As newcomers nervously walk in for the first time Teyonni is a reassuring and accepting presence. The nervous faces are frequently young girls, women, or those not in ideal health. Attending class is often intimidating for most the first time. Her presence has often helped ease those nerves and made people feel more comfortable. Teyonni has experience as a peer support in the mental health field and that has served her well with the diverse population attending these "kickboxing classes".

Teyonni will become the first one in this unusual group to compete in combat sports on March 18th in an amateur kickboxing bout in Dubuque, IA. She recognizes the opportunity this presents for the entire group. She is "one of us" to a group made up of individuals that may not fit in at every gym or training group. Most competitors come from gyms full of experienced athletes and coaches. When you come from a place where the path has already been trodden down-it's hard to understand what it's like to not have that advantage. It's difficult to be the first to step into the unknown. Teyonni will be far from home on March 18th, but representing a larger group-many of whom are facing their own personal challenges. She is prepared mentally and physically to compete, but this is a win-win for the "kickboxing class" back in Leon. Teyonni hopes to inspire and embolden those in the group to take on bigger challenges themselves and see what they are truly capable of.

Teyonni will be competing on the Premium Federation Kickboxing Card for her debut.

True Humility

Humility is a widely-misunderstood word. Most people think a humble person is overly shy or bashful and always stays in the background. However, true humility isn’t displayed by groveling or letting others use us as doormats; it’s agreeing with God’s Word. Being humble enough to set aside our own opinions and agree with what God says always puts us in the right, and allows Him to exalt us without any self-effort on our part.
Godly humility involves a great deal of self-respect, and is marked by a refusal to let others devalue us. “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well” (Psalm 139:14). We’re God’s workmanship; therefore, we’re wonderful. This “wonderfulness” isn’t because of anything we do, but because God made us.
We see false humility in the world when others pretend to be pious and humble, but deep down have ulterior motives. People can see right through that. In the Old Testament, Moses displayed true humility. “Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth” (Numbers 12:3, NIV). Moses agreed with God and had the courage to do what He told him to do, despite the people’s opposition and grumbling.
We demonstrate humility by doing what we hear God tell us in our hearts. This differs from what the world tells us to do, and it makes us bold and outspoken. Godly humility requires the courage to stand up to the crowd when it tells us we’re wrong and it’s right. “He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way” (Psalm 25:9, NIV). Trusting God to this degree sets us apart from others who let popular opinion determine what they do.
Being humble is the opposite of being self-centered. A self-centered person puts their own selfish interests first. Taking ourselves out of the center of the situation and instead putting God’s Word there allows Him to exalt us. Jesus explained this to the Pharisees in a parable.
When you are invited by anyone to a wedding feast, do not sit down in the best place, lest one more honorable than you be invited by him; and he who invited you and him come and say to you, ‘Give place to this man,’ and then you begin with shame to take the lowest place. But when you are invited, go and sit down in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, go up higher.’ Then you will have glory in the presence of those who sit at the table with you. For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted (Luke 14:8-11, NKJV).
God loves us and wants the best for us. If we forget this, we can make the mistake of trying to ingratiate ourselves with others in an attempt to impress them with false humility. Trying to make ourselves look good before others can eventually lead to our own shame and humiliation; humbling ourselves before God lets Him put us where He wants us. “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up”(James 4:10).
God’s definition of humility is the complete opposite of the world’s definition. If we trust anyone but Him in this area, we’re on shaky ground. Agreeing with Him and aligning our thinking with His Word keeps us in safe territory.

Here's an example of what your week might look like:
Monday: Chest and three heavy ab exercises

You need your abs to be ready to protect your back during those other moves! On something like chest day, or a shoulder day that doesn't have heavy standing presses, feel free to start with abs. Respect the rest days!

Why not train abs every day? Well, if you're training your abs correctly—i.e., hard enough to add muscle and strength—and you don't give your body adequate rest, you run the risk of burning out or sabotaging your other training. That's the same reason you'll perform these ab routines after your other training: so your other training doesn't suffer from all the fatigue! Since you're going to be using a lot of weighted movements in the next four weeks, you can expect to be sore on those rest days.

This is only a 30-day program, but if you'd like, you can run it back to back. Just take a few days or a week off from it at the end of a month, and then dive back in. You might find it's even more effective the second time around!

 | The Schedule and Split |
In this program, you'll hit abs about 4-5 times a week, following a schedule of two days on, one day off that's designed to work with your weekly split. To be clear, this is an ab-specialization program, not a comprehensive training plan, so you should still be working other muscle groups while you follow this plan. That said, to get the most out of 30-Day Abs, you should probably make it your biggest priority for this month. In other words, this isn't the time to sign up for a powerlifting competition or try to add three inches to your biceps.

 | Get Systematically Shredded | This two-on, one-off plan hits the sweet spot of both frequency and intensity. You'll do weighted work and supersets to make your abs pop, plus circuits for fat loss. These are short workouts to be attached to your current program, but you'll feel them the next day!

** (Disclaimer: This video content (below) is intended for educational and informational purposes only) ** The Mendocino County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) has released the dash cam video and audio of the shooting of Joseph Anthony Corral, 26 of Los Angeles, by MCSO deputies. Three deputies were present, and it appears that two of them fired multiple shots towards Corral, potentially more than 15 shots, only one of which struck Corral. Corral was airlifted to an out of county hospital and survived. In the video the audio is clearly legible, and it shows Corral very suddenly reaching for something behind him and then raising back up. At that point one of the deputies yells for him to not reach for a gun, and the deputies begin to fire.  The deputies on the passenger's side then fire into the van, in the direction of Corral, but also in the direction of their fellow deputy. After the deputies stop shooting one of them is heard asking if a woman not on camera has been wounded. No one else was wounded. MCSO deputies initially responded to a call regarding a report of a drunk man, but then encountered Corral in a mini-van on the side of the road. Mendocino County Sheriff Tom Allman held a press conference shortly after the shooting, in which he said the dash cam footage would be released within two weeks; the footage is required to be made public under California's Public Records Act SB 748 and SB 1421, which expand the public's access to police records in circumstances where a peace officer discharges a firearm.
