Our loving heavenly Father invites us to bring our burdens to Him and accept the strength He offers.
From Intouch Ministries
If you’ve ever carried something very heavy, you probably remember the feeling of relief when you could finally put it down. Perhaps you were even able to hand it off to a stronger, more capable person. Of course, not all burdens are physical. In fact, emotional or spiritual burdens often feel heavier and more impossible than tangible ones. In today’s psalm, David was weighed down with many woes and worries, and we all can undoubtedly identify with his desire to “fly away and be at rest” (v. 6).
No matter what form our challenges take, we must not forget that every circumstance in life is lovingly sifted through our Father’s fingers before reaching His children. From the Lord’s perspective, those things that seem to be too much for us are opportunities to learn dependence on Him. God never intends for any of us to carry a burden alone. Rather, He tells us to give it to Him (v. 22) and promises to see us through challenging times—no matter what. Casting your cares upon God means releasing them fully into His control and allowing Him to be your “place of refuge from the stormy wind and heavy gale” (v. 8).

In 2012, Newsweek ran a magazine cover calling Barack Obama “America’s First Gay President.” The article gleefully lauded Obama for his support and endorsement of gay marriage. Obama’s path to becoming the LGBTQIA+ community’s best friend was all but inevitable. Perhaps it was his mission from the outset. Tying the journey of black people to the cause of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgenders is Obama’s most enduring and impactful legacy. It’s a legacy he guards with vigilance and tremendous courage. Recently, Obama penned a letter to librarians in America, encouraging them to push back over “book bans.” The former president alleges that the books being banned are being attacked because they are by black or LGBTQ authors. By claiming communities are banning books that had a profound impact on Obama’s life, he’s clearly sending a message, a message that prompted his brother to tweet, then delete, a post that left no ambiguity about Obama's sexuality. Jason says the evidence has been here all along. “Some sins are sins and others are an Obamination. The first gay president is a master of deception, confusion, and hiding in the closet.” Royce White and Shemeka Michelle join “Fearless” for the conversation. Plus, Wendy Alexander drops in to help us make sense of a story about an American woman who is facing prison time for screaming in public in Dubai.

Today on the Matt Walsh Show, the media is warning of the impending doom of the entertainment industry as Hollywood actors join the writers on strike. One executive worries that we might soon run out of shows to watch. But if the entertainment industry collapses, will this really be the cause? And either way, would it actually be a bad thing? Also, speaking of impending doom, we're told that the rest of the planet will soon be destroyed as well because of global warming. In fact one prominent Democrat claims that this week we experienced the hottest temperatures in 120 thousand years. Plus, the Pentagon tries to explain why it's so important to provide abortions for female military members. And a beautiful Johnny the Walrus parade float causes chaos and consternation in Alaska.

As you seek to follow God, He will help you overcome each obstacle you encounter.
From Intouch Ministries
Yesterday, we discussed how Moses doubted God’s calling to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. But the Lord graciously provided reassurance through wondrous signs and promised to help His servant accomplish everything, no matter how impossible it might seem (Ex. 4:1-5).
Moses wasn’t eloquent, and his inability to speak well left him feeling inadequate. So God reassured him by saying, “I Myself will be with your mouth, and instruct you in what you are to say” (v. 12). Remember, the Lord looks at the heart, not human qualifications (1 Samuel 16:7), which is why the people He chooses to carry out His plan often seem unlikely. What’s more, God can also overcome all our inadequacies. That’s what He did by calling Moses’ brother Aaron to go along and proclaim the God-given message (Ex. 4:14-17).
The Lord had an answer for each one of Moses’ concerns, and He will likewise help us overcome obstacles when we follow Him. As we step out in obedience, our trust in God grows, and we are able to leave the outcome—whatever it may be—to Him. Then, as the faith barriers in our life are demolished, we’ll be able to see the evidence of God’s presence and power. Not only that, but we will also experience the joy of submitting to His perfect will.
