The Coach

Allen Rudolph, a 26-year coaching veteran, enters his third season as the Ohio football program's offensive line coach in 2021 under 16th-year head coach Frank Solich.

In the 2 seasons in Athens, the Bobcat offense has been in the top 20 in the nation in rushing yards per game and top 10 in the nation in yards per carry. In the 2019 season, the Bobcats were 6th in the country in 3rd down conversion percentage.

Rudolph spent the previous three years as the offensive line coach at Arkansas State, helping to lead the Red Wolves to 23 victories and three bowl appearances – including a 31-13 win over UCF in the Cure Bowl in 2016.

The 2018 season saw the Red Wolves rank 17th in the nation in total offense with 466.2 yards per game and 21st in passing offense with 281.5 yards per game. Under the guidance of Rudolph, tackle Lanard Bonner earned First Team All-Sun Belt Conference honors for the second year in a row while center Jacob Still garnered Honorable Mention All-Sun Belt recognition for the second-straight season.

Rudolph coached an offensive line in 2017 that ranked fifth in the nation in passing offense (342.2 yards per game), 10th in total offense (494.8 yards per game) and 13th in scoring offense (37.8 points per game). A-State's average total offense was also a school record, while its 454 points scored tied the fourth most in school history. Rudolph's offensive line unit helped produce over 400 yards of total offense in 10 of 12 games, including a school and Sun Belt Conference-record 781 yards in a victory over Louisiana-Monroe.

The 2016 offensive line paved the way for 4,932 yards total offense that is the seventh most in school history. Led by two offensive linemen earning All-Sun Belt honors, the Red Wolves recorded over 300 yards total offense in 10 outings, more than 400 in five contests and at least 500 in two outings.  The offensive line helped the squad record a season-high 525 yards in the Sun Belt opener, a 27-26 win over Georgia Southern. Under Rudolph's direction, senior offensive linemen Jemar Clark and Colton Jackson were both named all-conference as first and second team selections, respectively.

Rudolph came to Arkansas State after spending the previous three seasons as the offensive line coach for the Canadian Football League's (CFL) Hamilton Tiger-Cats. His time with Hamilton saw him help lead the team to the playoffs every year, including appearances in the 2013 and '14 Grey Cup.

Rudolph's coaching experience also includes stints at Northwestern State (2012), Southeastern Louisiana (2007-11), Samford (2005-06), East Mississippi Community College (2004), Louisiana-Monroe (2002-03), Mississippi College (2000-01), Copiah-Lincoln Community College (1999) and Nicholls State (1995-98).

Rudolph was a four-year letterman at Nicholls State (1989-93) and served as the team's starting center for three seasons. He was one of the Colonels' team captains in his junior and senior campaigns. A Jackson County, Miss., native, Rudolph earned his bachelor's degree in American studies from Southern Mississippi in 1995.

Rudolph and his wife, Nicole, have two daughters, Abbey and McKenzie.

The StrengthCast PowerShow A Home Workout For The Ages!

Lose Weight Quickly By Adding These Simple Exercises To Your Life

  • Author Irabor Mark
Weight loss can be stressful. Even thinking about which strategy to use to lose weight can be difficult!

There are literally thousands of guides, diets, and tips out there that are endorsed by all kinds of celebrities. This makes it hard to know which ones will work for you, or even work at all! This article seeks to make weight loss easier by providing tips that have been proven to help. (Continued below.....)

Building muscle doesn't have to happen in a gym or under an iron bar loaded with plates. It can happen with almost no equipment, in your garage, back room, or right next to your bed.
► Full-Body Muscle-Building Homeworkouts Program:
► Shop Bodybuilding Signature Supplements:

(....Continued.....)For people who have never enjoyed running, but really want to, there is a very interesting program. The program is called Couch to 5k and it helps someone who are completely inactive prepare their body and mind to run for 30 minutes in just 8 weeks. So far it has had very good reviews.

Avoid eating when you are bored when trying to lose weight. When you eat to relieve boredom, you are more likely to eat high fat or sugary snack foods like chips or candy instead of healthy foods. You are also more likely to eat more food than if you plan your snacks.

Buy smaller plates. Many dish sets contain plates designed to hold significantly more than one serving of food. These plates can make normal portions look small. You may, inadvertently, end up eating more than is necessary. Replace your large plates with small ones. Getting smaller plates will make your portions look larger.

If you are not a great cook or simply do not have time to cook a healthy, balanced meal for yourself you should join one of the meal plans that are available. Many of the plans are actually budget friendly and come with a wide variety of food choices. That way you will be less likely to get bored and quit the diet before giving it a chance to work.

One helpful way to lose weight is to sneak low-calorie, nutrient dense foods into your "normal" diet. How do you do this? For example, when making your oatmeal in the morning, dice up a whole large apple and add it to the mix along with some cinnamon. You will have boosted the fiber and flavor of your breakfast; it will make you much more full and satisfy your hunger that much longer, and it will taste like apple pie!

Use house cleaning as a quick method to burn calories. Activities such as sweeping and mopping work many of your body's muscles. This burns off calories quickly when you do the same repetitions daily. Cleaning windows also works the upper arms very well. Any choirs can become the perfect workout routine, so you accomplish two tasks in one.

Wear comfortable clothes. Studies have shown that people actually lose more weight when they are wearing clothing they can lounge around in. Work clothes can be stuffy, and most people are very uncomfortable wearing them. As a result, you tend to move around less. Comfortable clothes encourage more movement. You are burning more calories whether you realize it or not.

Try to include some type of protein in all of your meals and snacks. This is a good idea because it will keep you full for much longer and give you much needed energy. It also makes it less likely that you will start to eat things that you should not.

Weight loss is definitely a challenging process. A lot of people give up without ever getting anywhere. That doesn't have to be you! If you are truly looking to lose weight, then stay confident and never give up. This article has proven that effective and feasible approaches to weight loss do exist. It can be done.

Long-Term Prevention Through Immune Support and The Truth About Cancer Presents: Health Nuggets - Astragalus: The Super Herb That Prevents Cancer

Long-Term Prevention Through Immune Support

  • Author Isaac Eliaz

Whether you’re talking about a cold or the flu, there are various recommendations for preventing and treating them. If you start early on prevention, you'll likely be among the lucky people who sail through the winter without catching either. By far the best defense is prevention. A strong immune system will prevent a cold or the flu and speed up recovery time if you do in fact get sick.

Get it on Apple TV

One of the best preventive measures is medicinal mushrooms, which are well-documented for their ability to enhance immune function and help combat infection, especially on a long-term basis. Medicinal mushrooms are literally immune system coaches, and it is more efficient to train your immune system when you are not already sick. The beauty of medicinal mushrooms is that they are also highly beneficial in times of distress and when your immune system is under an increased risk.

The best way to use medicinal mushrooms is to take them regularly at a maintenance dose and then increase the dosage when you are at greater risk or when you have a cold. At times of distress or if there is an increased risk for colds and flu, doubling the dosage of medicinal mushrooms is extremely beneficial.

Mushrooms naturally contain Beta glucans, which are simple polysaccharides (sugar/carbohydrate molecules) that enhance immune function by boosting macrophage activity. Beta glucans can be cultivated in yeast cells and extracted and added to mushroom products for a booster effect. Thus, when you select a mushroom product, it is important to choose one that contains additional Beta glucans for the best benefit. Additional herbs that are valuable for immune health include Echinacea and Goldenseal. Various Chinese herbal formulas such as Yin Qiao San, Gui Zi Tang, Ge Gen Tang can also be effective, depending on the specific characteristics of the flu or cold. Tonifying and adaptogenic herbs, such as Astragalus, Ginseng, and Eleutherococcus (Siberian ginseng) are also powerful defenses, but consult an herbalist knowledgeable in TCM herbology before taking them.

Finally, when you have a cold or the flu, high dosages of vitamin C and zinc are quite helpful. Daily doses of Vitamin C can boost the immune system, offering potential protection from viruses and colds. Vitamin C is a nutrient that has been demonstrated to have a substantial impact on human health. Taking a dose of up to 1,000 mg of Vitamin C can strengthen your immune system and that, in turn, can help you avoid colds and nasty viruses.

Zinc helps to eliminate already existing free radicals and helps to prevent new ones from forming. Zinc is the most important mineral to the thymus gland, which orchestrates the immune function in the human body. Supplementation with zinc increases the ability of the immune system to fight viral infections and enhances the ability of the immune system to do its job.

Research continues to show how important these vitamins and supplements are for your immune system, and since most of us are deficient in the winter, a daily supplement can boost your immune system even more. The Rock Almighty Devotional, Praise, and Worship with Ken Tamplin and Restoration of Power to the Believer

Restoration of Power to the Believer

In these last days, we’re in a spiritual war against the devil. It may appear that he has won the battle, but things are not always what they appear to be.

There’s a major shift getting ready to happen, and God is preparing to turn the tide in favor of the believer. What the enemy has stolen from us, God is about to restore. (Continued below.....)

Good Day Prayer Warriors!
Let's take a look at how the one and only "Rocky" (no not the squirrel!), achieved his great success in life through the blood of Jesus and the grace of the father.
Then enjoy a scorching bluesy gospel love song to Jesus through the legendary voice of the one and only Ken Tamplin

Listen on Apple Music

(....Continued......)In the Old Testament, God promised the people He would restore the years that the locust, the cankerworm, the caterpillar, and the palmerworm had eaten. This promise still stands today. On the physical level, Satan is working hard to keep us broke and struggling; on the spiritual level, he works just as hard to steal our peace and joy and replace it with stress, fear, and anxiety. However, his plans fail when we believe that Jesus has given us power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy.

Living in the natural realm puts us in bondage to the things we don’t want to do. When we got born again, God moved us from the natural to the supernatural and made us His sons and daughters. As His children, we’ve been freed from slavery to the natural forces operating in the world. We who are born again aren’t children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.

Our authority was made possible by Jesus’ death and resurrection. God has raised up the Lord, and will also raise us up by His own power. Therefore, we don’t have to be afraid of the enemy; if God is for us, nothing can stand against us. His love makes us more than conquerors, and nothing can separate us from this love.

Satan knows he’s already a defeated foe. Standing firmly on God’s promises of abundance, prosperity, and victory in life keeps us in perfect peace, because we keep our minds on Him. There’s no defeating a confident Christian who knows He has already won the victory.

Prayer:

Lord, You gave us power and authority over the devil, and over every situation in life. Your grace empowers us to live victoriously. We thank You for this. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Todd White - Not Enough Persecution and "Now Mary - Now Martha!"

"Now Mary - Now Martha!"

  • Author Linda Fitzgerald

While downstairs for a lunch break (ah, peanut butter passion ice cream!), it occurred to me to talk about "Mary and Martha".

Now don’t ask me why. The thought just occurred to me. But I think it has something to do with the Odds/Ends I first talked about here earlier this a.m. You know, the task-oriented vs the not so task-oriented (or something like that). (Continued below......)

(....Continued....)I’m sure most of you know a little something about Mary & Martha. Mary, Martha and their brother Lazarus were all close friends of Jesus. Not only was he their friend, but he was their Rabboni (means ‘teacher’ in Hebrew). They lived in Bethany, a small village within a days walk of Jerusalem. Whenever Jesus needed a break, he would drop by their home just to chat, eat, relax and recoup his energy.

The two women were dramatically different. Martha, the type-A personality with anal tendencies and a slight persecution complex, would have a "dither-fit". Clean house, do laundry, kill the fatted calf and generally set about taking care of the domestic needs required to entertain the "teacher". I imagine she worked herself into a "dither" as she scurried about to make everything ‘perfect’ for their visitor.

Mary on the other hand, had a more other-worldly approach to life. She was studious, eager to learn, more in touch with her inner life and less concerned about domestic matters. Oh I’m sure she did what was required of her in preparation for his visit, but when he got there - forget cooking, cleaning or anything else remotely related to domestication. While Martha ’slaved’ in the kitchen, Mary was perfectly content to sit at his feet, pry him with questions about life and matters of the spirit while her sister ’slaved’ away.

Being a good anal persecutory personality as she was, Martha complained loudly about her sister’s lack of respect for her (Martha) by leaving the preparation to Martha alone to sit at Jesus’ feet and soak up his every word.

Can you blame Martha? There’s a job to be done and "oh my goodness, do I always have to do it by myself!" Spoken by a tried and true task-oriented woman who has little or no time for the ‘fluff’ of wasting time learning something new and exciting from the "teacher".

Martha must have proclaimed and complained loudly. Anyway, as the story goes, Jesus chided Martha for her uncharitable attitude toward her sister and gave Martha something profound to ‘chew on’. Basically his viewpoint was that "what difference is it to you, Martha, if your sister wants to focus on the things that make a true difference in life?"

Oh that must have boiled Martha’s blood! How dare he put her down in that way! After all, if it weren’t for her, he’d have nothing to eat or drink.

Now, what’s the moral or purpose for my retelling in modern context this ancient story? What occurs to me is that in each of us there is a Martha and a Mary! One to get the job done efficiently, effectively and in timely manner and one to take time to rest, relax, question, contemplate and take stock!

Last night, my "Martha" was on full display! Yes, I was typical "type-A"; somewhat "anal" and complained bitterly to ’self’ that I had to keep going over and over something with which I was quite comfortable and that time was ‘fleeting’ and nit-picking each word seemed a waste of time . . . etc, etc, etc!

Yet no one loves taking time to ’sit at the teacher’s feet’ and listen, contemplate and otherwise grow in wisdom, stature and hopefully ‘grace’. I love to learn new things. And I love to ‘vegetate’ from time to time - you know - do nothing. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

As I reflect on this conversation and what prompted it, I’m amused. I’m amused that in one human person, there can be so much contradiction. Before you think we’re not all included in this - please be advised that none of us gets a ‘pass’ on this one.

‘Tis true! There’s a Martha and a Mary in each of us. And that ‘ain’t bad. The key is knowing when it’s fully appropriate to let ‘Martha’ have her way and when it’s best to be a ‘Mary’.

And when in working with others, know which ‘lady’ ought to have the upper hand for the task at hand so that our human dealings will be one of cooperation, coordination and collaboration rather than a trip down ego-lane with Martha shouting from the kitchen while Mary turns a deaf ear.

Ah, just something to contemplate as we head into the weekend!

May it be awesome, love-filled and rich with great ’stuff’!
