Iodine has some pretty amazing and unique effects on the immune system. Here’s what you need to know.
Today we’re going to talk about iodine and immune system health. I’ve talked a lot about important nutrients like zinc, vitamin D, and vitamin C in relation to the immune system. But I haven’t talked about iodine. Iodine has a unique influence on the immune system.
You need about 150mcg of iodine per day. Many people, around 2 billion, are deficient in iodine. Sea kelp seems to be the best source of iodine, but there are other great iodine sources as well. The best iodine-rich foods are: • Sea kelp • Shellfish • Fish • Eggs • Dairy Iodine is needed for the thyroid. The thyroid is the gland that stores iodine and helps make thyroid hormones. If you’re deficient in iodine, your thyroid stimulating hormone can go up. Thyroid stimulating hormone has a few different functions. One would be that it causes the thyroid to get bigger. Another function is that it increases the release of the thyroid hormone T4, which can then be converted to T3.
Something else that messes with the thyroid is estrogen. It just so happens that iodine is a great mineral to help lower high levels of estrogen. Iodine and all of the trace minerals are very important for pregnant women. If a pregnant woman is deficient in iodine, there could be massive problems for the child, including: • Intellectual disabilities • Deafness • Stunted growth Iodine and the immune system: 1. Enhances dendritic cells 2. Supports B-cell development 3. Helps stimulate phagocytes 4. Enhances natural killer cells 5. Enhances cytokines 6. Good for memory cells DR. Modesto, California — Modesto police released body camera footage Friday from a deadly officer-involved shooting that happened on May 25th at approximately 9:39 pm at West Orangeburg Avenue and Enslen Avenue.
This officer involved shooting resulted in the death of 35-year-old, Reymar Gagarin of Modesto. On that evening. Officers were on their way to an unrelated call at Enslen Park. They were stopped at the intersection of Orangeburg and Elsen when Gagarin pulled up next to them and exited his car with a handgun.
Officers accelerated away from Gagarin and made a U-turn. As they got out of their patrol car, Gagarin began walking towards them, pointing a handgun at them. Officers fired multiple rounds at Gagarin, striking him. He was transported to the local hospital where he died of his wounds. The handgun found at the scene was later determined to be a fake handgun.
According to witnesses, Gagarin claimed that he wanted to be in a high speed police chase and to force the officers to shoot him using a fake handgun.
What is Bipolar Disorder? Bipolar disorder is a serious mental illness. "bi" stands for two, so
as the name may suggest, a person with bipolar disorder has two moods.
These two moods shift from the extremes on both sides of the spectrum.
Sometimes, a person with bipolar disorder may experience episodes of
mania. In this state, a person has an extremely elevated mood. This very
person can experience extreme lows, or depression. Bipolar disorder often causes people to have trouble managing their
daily tasks such as working, going to school, and maintaining regular
relationships. The average age that someone develops bipolar disorder is
around 25 years old. Bipolar Disorder Types Bipolar disorder has several types and disorders related to it. Let’s review each type: Bipolar 1 Bipolar 1 disorder, or manic depressive disorder, is a mental illness
that involves at least one manic episode. This manic episode is an
extremely elevated mood and/or extremely high energy level, usually
followed by abnormal behavior that affects a person’s life. In addition,
a person with this type of bipolar disorder will suffer from episodes
of depression. These cycles of manic and depression will continue into
this person’s future. Bipolar II Like bipolar ! disorder, bipolar II disorder involves cycling moods
of highs and lows. The difference between the two is that a person with
bipolar II does not have mania levels of highs. However, like bipolar I,
a person with bipolar II still suffers from depression. Cyclothymic Disorder Comparing cyclothymic disorder to bipolar I and bipolar II disorders,
it is relatively mild. A person with this disorder will have moods of
mild depression and then moods of an elevate mood called hypomania.
These highs and lows of a person with cyclothymic disorder never reach
full on mania or major depressive levels. Symptoms Symptoms of mania and hypomania Let’s discuss the symptoms of both mania and hypomania. Some symptoms of mania and hypomania include: Upbeat in energy or activity Energetic, or amped feelings Overconfidence, extreme sense of well-being Less sleep required Lots of talking Impulsive spending Decision making that lacks judgment Feelings of being distracted Higher than usual sex drive Symptoms of Major Depressive Disorder Here are some symptoms of major depressive episodes: Feeling sad, hopeless, having a feeling of emptiness Lack of interest for once loved activities Low energy or low motivation Big changes in weight, such as weight gains and weight losses Sleeping too little or sleeping too much Feeling heavy guilt for little to no reason Lack of concentration, very indecisive behavior Thinking, planning, or attempting suicide Can I Be Cured of Bipolar Disorder? While there is no cure for bipolar disorder, there are treatment
options to manage the symptoms. Treatment options include psychotherapy,
also known as talk therapy. Most psychotherapy will focus on behavioral
strategies you can use to help keep your symptoms more under control.
These might include sleeping on a very regular schedule, eating
consistently, and identifying situations that might prompt a mood
episode. In addition, medications such as mood stabilizers and
antipsychotics, can be used to treat the highs and lows of bipolar
disorder.
“I am crucified with Christ:
nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life
which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who
loved me, and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).
We’re able to live
successful Christian lives through God’s grace operating through us, not
through our own ability. We can now receive God’s grace.

The Way to Finding Purpose in Life
Author
Jimi Akanbi
Almost
every human on the earth does not grasp that he or she has a unique
God-given purpose in life given to them while in their mother’s womb,
including believers. Hence the convenient action they exercise is to
either get a university education, or copy what profession a successful
friend is doing in life or both. It follows suit that if you are unaware
that I gave you a gift, you are unlikely to unwrap it and start using
it. In the same manner, if you do not know that there is a unique
destiny deposited in you by God, you will unlikely search for it, let
alone fulfill it. The destiny of individuals is not ordained by chance but by divine
arrangement. Many people live as such that, what will be, will be, or if
it is mine, then it is mine. The latter is a key form of living by
chance and not by destiny. Anyone operating outside of his or her
God-given destiny may experience some measure of success but will not
live a fulfilled life; but when he or she finds destiny, a sense of
overflowing joy, peace, favor, victory and much success becomes the
person’s portion. Oftentimes, someone’s purpose in life is not realized through a
formal education, but through a divine revelation. There are many humans
who replace destiny with a formal education, and end up unhappy and
dissatisfied after graduating from college, and working a job which they
really hate and dread going to every morning. For example, statistics
shows that more than eighty-five percent of employees on the United
States of America hate their jobs. Note: It is only confirms that more
than eighty-five percent of employees in the USA have not discovered
their God-given destiny, because our Lord will not give you a destiny
that will allow you to struggle and become miserable. Some of the few people who understand that they have a high calling
or destiny given by God, go about looking for it in the wrong places,
and end up quitting and settling for the next best profession. In the
discovery of a God-given destiny, the Holy Spirit is the best helper.
You need to go to a quiet place, be conscious of His indwelling presence
in you, and continually praise and worship God for an hour each day to
activate the Holy Spirit, ask Him to reveal your destiny to you, listen
for the voice of the Holy Spirit or the voice of your spirit, and act
accordingly. There are times an individual’s destiny may seem menial, but at the
end of the day, he or she will be elevated and begin to dine with Kings,
princes and rulers of nations. This is a key reason our Lord mentioned
in His Word: "Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD
rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s
hand". Also, when athletes run a sprint race, no one cares about how
fast they take off, but how fast they finish the race. It is said that the greater an individual’s destiny, the greater his
or her challenges. This is a major reason the Generals of God such as;
Jesus, Moses, David, Joseph, Job, Daniel, Abraham went through the great
storms of life, after which they began to enjoy life to the fullest. Everyone has at least one gift or talent, which should be used to
fulfill his or her purpose in life; put it to use and not waste it.
Note: God does not like wastage of any benefits He endows to man. Begin
to seek after and find your God-given destiny, and not a duplicate of
another human’s destiny.

For Football Coaches, By Football Coaches Learn More...
How It Started
Game Planner Pro was built by long-time, highly successful high
school offensive coaches in 2008. The two founding coaches then
circulated the application, originally in an Excel spreadsheet, among a
group of coaching friends (from different regions, of course). The small
group of coaches realized that the application made the full game plan
implementation process simpler and much more efficient.
How it works
After scouting the upcoming opponent and discussing the game plan
objectives in the weekly planning meeting, the coach enters the game
plan in Game Planner Pro at the start of the week. Plays, scenarios,
personnel packages, formations, field position and everything else that
needs to be considered for play calling and the opponent are all managed
with one simple entry of the plays at the beginning of the week.
Changes throughout the week are easily made.
Once the plays are entered, the coach is finished with his computer
time, and there is no need to enter anything for the remainder of the
week. The application will break down the volume of plays into practice
scripts (watch the practice scripts video), which
organize the offensive practice schedule for the two primary days of the
week where the team practices the game plan. Practice scripts are
easily printed and shared with anyone.

Quarantine? Training in small spaces never more important

Quarantine? Training in small spaces never so important With the loss of our physical training routines - social situations
of a regular exercise class, walking, running and training with friends -
the lack of these, has been one of the stresses imposed by the
restrictions of COVID-19. However, maintaining, or possibly increasing,
your level of physical activity seems even more important than usual in
the face of this new corona virus. Even though we don't know how
training and exercise can affect the fight against this particular
virus, we know that regular physical activity stimulates the immune
system in a moderate way. There are studies that show that a moderate to
high daily training can strengthen the immune system. Therefore, a
strong immune system can help combat the effects of viral diseases. So, exercising daily brings several benefits to all systems of the
body, from bones, muscles, heart and lungs to the brain. It is worth
mentioning that it increases insulin sensitivity and decreases stress
hormones, which further helps the body to fight diseases. Exercise helps
people manage anxiety and depression. Even a single exercise can help
to remove concerns, fears, anxieties and boredom due to quarantine. But how can you train in a confined space and without access to your usual machines or exercise classes? Be flexible and less rigid Moving your exercise to your home in a trusted space may require some
frustration for not being able to maintain the same pace of training
as: weight training, aerobic, functional and other sports. In this age
of Corona virus, be more flexible in your choice of exercise and less
rigid in maintaining previous habits. Keep in mind that: The change can be good for the body. Perhaps your usual activity is
weight training, yoga, Pilate's, indoor cycling or functional training
ground. Your body is used to the muscles worked and the intensity of
this activity. Varying your choice of exercise reduces boredom and
decreases your chance of miscalculate injury due to repetitive
movements. You can also develop new muscle groups. Your muscles are indifferent. Muscles don't know and don't even care
what kind of workout clothes you're wearing, what space you're in, or
what kind of music you're playing. Your muscles are highly adaptable.
That is, if you apply a new series of exercises, increase the repetition
in doing squats, your muscles will become stronger to allow you to meet
the new requirement. And you can do this even in a very small area.
Less weight and more repetitions, concentrating the maximum each
repetition of each exercise, will make your muscle expand differently. Do exercises using your body weight as: push-ups, barbells, squats, yoga poses, Pilate's among many others. It is also very valid to practice balance training, try to challenge
your standing balance and perform a balance work and develop new muscle
groups Make a new exercise routine at home Here are four ways to change your exercise routine during the COVID-19 pandemic: Use on-line exercises, if possible in a group with friends. After
all, it is important to socialize while training and doing new types of
exercises. Look for different types of exercises to perform at home that
are available on the Internet Consider taking live exercise classes on-line, if your gym and / or
personal is teaching on-line. This adds a little social connection (ask a
friend to join, so you can see him in class). In addition, for many of
us, making an appointment for a live class will improve compliance
compared to on-demand videos, which can be watched - or avoided - at any
time of the day. Get out. One of the few excuses for leaving home, besides getting
food and medicine, is to exercise. Exposure to nature is particularly
beneficial in combating the depression of relying on the home. Try something new, at home, have fun. If you have never felt
comfortable taking part in a Zumba or dance class, this may be your
opportunity to try it out at home with no one around. You can choose to
turn off your camera (at least until you get the moves). Do not worry, if you are not going to the gym to lose strength or
muscle volume, because muscles have "memory" and very soon everything
will be back to normal. Keep a healthy diet, as in this difficult time it is risky to go on
crazy diets to lose weight. Always consult a nutritionist and check if
you need food supplements and / or vitamins if necessary. Health is the
most important thing now.

Global VPN Use Is Booming But So Is Cyber-Censorship
Author
Joanne Jordan
Net-savvy
users consider VPNs a necessity these days. Can you afford to connect
to the internet without using a Virtual Private Network? In restrictive
countries like Russia, the UAE, and China the government imposes bans on
certain types of content which they deem subversive or not in the
nation's interest. Whether you're there for business or pleasure, in
both cases you may experience difficulties accessing a staggering number
of websites. VoIP services like Skype and WhatsApp are blocked, along
with gambling sites, Netflix US, Twitter, Instagram, Xing, and Wikipedia
pages, to name but a few. There are numerous reasons why netizens have
started to use VPNs. The most basic thing a VPN does is that it protects
your system from spam, malware, viruses, and other digital threats. In
addition to that
VPNs provide a certain level of anonymity. The user can exercise
their inalienable right to voice an opinion without dreading a backlash
from government agencies or corporations. Secure servers keep
communication private.
Instead of your own unique identifier, the IP address of the VPN
server is provided. This prevents websites and applications from knowing
your geographic location and from sending you targeted advertisements.
VPNs protect the identity of the user and prohibit unauthorized access to the user’s personal information and transactions.
VPNs hide sensitive data like bank details, passwords, and credit card numbers.
VPNs provide companies a secure network which can be used by all employees.
Why VPN censorship is increasing all over the world As VPN use expands around the globe, governments have started to
realize that this technology aims to impede control over their citizens.
China alone cannot be blamed for a ‘Rise of Digital Authoritarianism’:
according to a report by the nonprofit group Freedom House (which
surveyed over sixty countries), roughly 40 percent of those nations
experienced crackdowns on digital freedoms. But even with the
deterioration of internet freedom suffered in countries like Cambodia,
Kenya, Nigeria, Egypt, Sri Lanka, the Philippines and Venezuela, the
report found that with its 'Great Firewall' model of digital control,
"China reached new extremes with the implementation of extensive
Cybersecurity Laws and upgraded surveillance technology." - Usually, a
government will only ban foreign VPN service providers as they typically
do not conform to the prevailing law of that nation. They generally
allow local VPN providers to function and provide their services.
However, local VPNs cannot offer the same quality and level of security
as international providers and more often than not will monitor the
internet activity of their clients. How to use VPNs to keep yourself safe online Let's take China as an example which has threatened to ban all VPNs
back in 2018 and has already clamped down on services such as Dropbox,
Gmail, Facebook, and YouTube. There are just a few VPN companies that
are able to bypass this ban. If you enter China, you may not be able to
access any VPN sites there. The best thing to do is to have a VPN
pre-installed before you cross the border. While governments try to keep
people from using VPNs, tech-savvy users come up with ways to bypass
restrictions and stay connected. If you live in a country where it’s
legal to use a VPN, make sure you compare some well-reviewed VPNs and
get the best one. While there are free VPNs out there, it’s hard to
trust them. Most free VPNs either provide low service quality or keep
track of your data. Reasons why using free proxies is a bad idea. As with free VPNs, the operators of an open proxy web server need to
recover their costs. They can do this by injecting ads into your traffic
or by selling your data to advertisers. Either way, there is no
incentive for online proxy sites to keep your browsing fast, secure, and
anonymous. A VPN server needs more permissions on the local device than
a simple web proxy and as a result, usually requires users to install a
separate app. However, to use a proxy, every single application might
need to be configured separately, and changing the desired proxy server
location might require a complete reconfiguration. Not all proxy servers
are malicious by nature, but it can be tough to separate the dangerous
from the harmless.
Speed issues
Thousands of people are using the same proxies. In all likelihood,
the proxy-relay is choked with connections. Therefore it cannot give you
the reliable connectivity you expect. If you're dealing with e-commerce
platforms or online streaming websites like Netflix, then you might as
well call it a day. What you need are high-quality proxies which are not
flooded with free connections.
Server trouble
It is not uncommon for proxies to operate on a single server. This
means that each choked proxy is on an overloaded server, which is
basically getting strangled by connections. Expect to experience
throttled bandwidth when routing your connection through them.
Lack of access to specific websites
Many of the free proxies have spammers exploiting them, and
frequently they end up on blacklists. This means that even if you just
want to do some shopping, you will get blacklisted by the website. When
using a very common proxy address, you are likely to fail to connect.
The Hackers
Cybersecurity threats are growing like weeds. Nowadays, no one is
surprised to hear that several million social security numbers ended up
on the Darkweb. Sure, software companies are always trying to patch
loopholes, but they're usually one step behind the skilled
cybercriminal. Sooner or later you will fall prey to a phishing scam or
malware when using a free proxy. In fact, by opening the communication
between you and the proxy, you are basically inviting anyone on the
other side on to your device. This can result in significant privacy
breaches such as keystroke loggers.
Breached privacy
Quite possibly the worst thing is the free personal data that you are
delivering to the proxy provider. While you are relaying your
connection through the proxy site, they will see all your device
information along with whatever you are up to online. It should be
evident that this is a critical security compromise. There is a reason why cybersecurity experts recommend using only
trusted proxies with reliable 'no logging' policies. This means that the
company does not observe or record your online activity. At the same
time, it will not access your device or record any device particulars.
We all need to be more conscious of our online footprints. From casual
internet user to business executive, a VPN can make a tremendous
difference when it comes to online safety. Make sure you stay protected
and secure across all of your devices.

We are taking action for senior citizens. More than 1.7 million elderly people in the United States are the targets of property crimes, like burglaries, every year. More than 136,000 are the victims of violent crimes.
Yep, it’s
official. We, NYS (New York State), have received the "Major Disaster Declaration".
These are tough times. How are you making out as this crisis continues
to ravage our area and the world? It is imperative that we are extremely proactive in helping not
spread the virus and that we are extremely proactive on how we set
ourselves up to weather this storm… I strongly encourage you to read last week’s issue for the mindset
and strategies for not only surviving but thriving during this terrible
time. It’s on our Blog: 9 Tactics for weathering your quarantine I know that when our immediate surroundings and everyday life are
thrown into a tizzy and our very security, safety and even survival are
threatened, that it makes sense to feel a bit freaked out. To feel
panic. To feel overwhelmed, anxious and whirly. To feel desperate. To
feel powerless and paralyzed. To feel discouraged and hopeless. To feel
devastated. You might feel some or all of these feelings. You might cycle through
them. You might still be in denial or resistance or you might be in
shock and these feelings haven’t kicked in yet. Please know they will,
and they are totally normal. These are uncertain and scary times. It
makes sense they affect how you feel… But this is not an out of jail free card in that because you are
impacted you let yourself and your stuff go. You let your feels take
over and derail you… You allow yourself to sink down. You put your life
and what’s important to you on hold, or just down right neglect it… You
give up your self-agency. You let the wind blow you around… This makes
things worse for yourself and your life… Don’t do this! As the infection is ramping up in the states and we expect a
longer-term impact, it behooves us to be mindful of building emotional
resilience, mental spaciousness and bandwidth, and physical stamina:
Police your thoughts: Become vigilant of what kind of thoughts you
allow yourself to have, to rent space in your head and to take you on a
ride…. Watch out for apocalyptic, doomsday, major disaster, financial
depression, and the like thinking that just trigger more panic,
paralyzes and survival-mode. Yes, we live in dire times, but tapping
into compassion, gratitude, creativity and problem solving mitigates
this… We don’t have to feel like crap!
Honor your feelings: Do feel your feelings, acknowledge them, and
learn from them. They tell you what kind of thinking you are having and
how you are able to cope. They serve as informants for how to better
manage yourself. Feel your feelings. Heed them. And, take care of what
they suggest – clean your thinking and be proactive about properly
taking care of self…
Become super conscientious: Move your thinking from drama, fatality,
reactivity and such to thinking outside the box and resourcefulness… Any
obstacle you encounter, think on how you can get around it. Whatever
issue you face, find a creative solution for it. Stay ahead of what’s
coming. Not by overreacting and being an alarmist, but by accessing your
higher-level thinking and intuiting what will be needed, what will be
impacted and how to respond conscientiously and industriously. Be
proactive. Be responsive. Be intentional. Be progressive.
Transcend the noise: Now is the time to become aggressive about
streamlining, simplifying and minimizing everything in our life. We live
such a life of excess, in all areas of our life… From how much stuff we
buy, including food and toilet paper (ha!), to how much we do, to how
much entertainment we need… It is not uncommon for people to not be able
to be alone and in quiet, to be with themselves, to entertain
themselves… To require constant engagement and stimulation. I say there
is an opportunity for growth here with the imposed Social Distancing and
Quarantining… If you can’t go outside, go inside… Here is where Juice
is anyway… BE with what is and Transcend the crisis… Then operate from
an Inspired state…
Practice health, wellness and self-care: Now is more important than
ever to ensure our physical health. It goes without saying to minimize
exposure! If you are usually pretty mindful of your health and wellness
habits, make sure you stay the course. Don’t let the upheaval throw you
off. Tweak your routine and details of your practice as needed, but make
sure you do right by yourself. If you have been slacking on your health
and wellness, and self-care practice, Dude, what are you waiting for?
Now, is the time to step up your game. You can use this as a new area of
focus to keep yourself engaged and stimulated…
It is important that we pay attention to what gets triggered for us, how we like to cope, and what defense mechanisms we use… All kinds of things get triggered in disaster or crisis situations –
trauma, lack and scarcity, abandonment and aloneness, unworthiness,
survival and existentialism, visibility, guilt, anger, etc. We might turn to self-soothing with more consumption like any and all
kinds of shopping, eating, drinking, using substances and other kind of
indulgent or reactive behavior.
We might become more dramatic, needy, naggy, controlling, emotional,
reactive, shutdown, withdrawn, absent, unfeeling, uncaring, callous,
impatient, intolerant, self-righteous, etc. The more we exercise personal awareness, the more we can be proactive
about putting in place structures, systems, routines, practices,
rituals and the like to help us better manage ourselves. This ensures we
inoculate our physical and mental health, so we are better prepared to
withstand the onslaught of this crisis. It behooves us to be proactive in creating health and wellness. I say
this is our number one priority as we weather this storm, for from this
place we can handle the rest of it… It is Mental Health Month after all… Yes, weird times we live in… ASSIGNMENT: Take stock of how you are doing… Take a moment to gain
more awareness about how you are really doing, what comes up for you,
and how you usually deal. Knowing who you are and how you do you, be proactive in putting in
place what you need to prevent triggers, use positive and healthy coping
tactics, and prevent your defense mechanisms. Please know that your indulging and negative coping tactics and
defense mechanisms make things worse. These creating vicious negative
cycles that are more difficult to address when they go unchecked… These
will impact your overall health and wellness and the rest of your life
from your work to your marriage. Be proactive and intentional about how you do you… Let’s be super intentional, proactive and progressive. Let’s take
care of ourselves properly to minimize how sideways our lives can go.
Life it was well said in Pretty Woman, Take care of you. AND, IF THIS RESONATES… Now might be the perfect time to strengthen
your relationship. To learn new skills, tools and tactics to be
preventative and proactive in reducing stress and creating resiliency in
your home… This is great way to spend time with your partner in a fun,
productive and super conscientious way, and from the safety of your own
home… LOL Register for our upcoming 1Day VIRTUAL Relationship Enrichment Bootcamp™ In a nutshell, informally and in dynamic Emma style, I’ll teach you: 1 ~ How to get unstuck & break your impasse –> Context /

The Holy Spirit has
been sent to us as a gift and a blessing, and He is the helper we need
in all areas of our lives. He teaches us to pray in the Spirit in a
language we do not even know about. We cannot do anything to deserve
this gift; God offers it to us out of His grace and love for us. When we
have His Spirit living inside us, we can produce the fruit of the
spirit. The manifestations of this fruit include love, joy, and peace.
The Spirit empowers us to do what we cannot do on our own; He also gives
us individualized guidance and instruction according to each person’s
specific needs. His presence reveals God’s truth to us.
The manifestations of the Spirit are unmistakable.
And, being assembled together with them,
commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for
the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For
John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy
Ghost not many days hence (Acts 1:4, 5).
Baptism with water is different than the baptism of the Holy Spirit. The gift of the Spirit is one of God’s promises.
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come,
they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a
sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the
house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven
tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all
filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as
the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:1-4).
When the Spirit helps us pray about things we do not know about, manifestations will show up in our lives.
For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh
not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in
the spirit he speaketh mysteries (1 Corinthians 14:2).
When we speak in tongues, we speak about things we do
not logically understand; however, God knows all about them. We speak
secret truths.
Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem
heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them
Peter and John: Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that
they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none
of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then
laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost (Acts
8:14-17).
When Peter and John laid hands on the Samaritans who had
not yet received the Holy Spirit, what they had prayed for came to
pass.
Even the Gentiles received the Holy Spirit.
While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell
on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which
believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on
the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they
heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter
(Acts 10:44-46).
The Holy Spirit speaks directly to each individual with a specific message just for them.
And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at
Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus:
and finding certain disciples, He said unto them, Have ye received the
Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so
much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them,
Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's
baptism...And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost
came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied (Acts 19:1-3,
6).
After speaking in tongues, a prophecy and an interpretation in English edifies others and builds them up.
And there was a certain disciple at Damascus,
named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he
said, Behold, I am here, Lord. And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go
into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of
Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth, And hath
seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on
him, that he might receive his sight…And Ananias went his way, and
entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul,
the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou
camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be
filled with the Holy Ghost. And immediately there fell from his eyes as
it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was
baptized (Acts 9:10-12, 17, 18).
God gave Ananias specific instructions about where he
would find Saul to lay hands on him. When God gives us directions and
instructions, He is specific and precise.
I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all (1 Corinthians 14:18).
Paul was a strong advocate for praying in tongues.
In the last day, that great day of the feast,
Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me,
and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of
his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the
Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy
Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified) (John
7:37-39).
Jesus promised that those who believe in Him would
receive the Holy Ghost. The Holy Spirit is like a flood of living water
given to those who thirst for truth.
