“And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness” (Genesis 15:6).
We could never do enough
good things to earn right-standing with God; this only comes by faith.
This knowledge takes all pressure off of us to perform in an endless
cycle of self-effort.
“Give, and it shall be given
unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running
over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye
mete withal it shall be measured to you again” (Luke 6:38). As believers, we have inside
us the authority to determine what kind of life we have. The more we
give, the more blessings come back to us.

Taffi Dollar Calls for God-Ordained Balance with a Timely Message of Equality
COLLEGE PARK, GA— As countless women
declare “me too” in the wake of allegations of abuse by men in positions
of power, a long-time ministry leader is finding a warm reception for
her message calling for an end to unequal standing between the sexes. Taffi Dollar, who has helped her husband, Creflo Dollar, build World
Changers Church International (WCCI) into a 30,000-member congregation
with fellowship churches around the world, is challenging attitudes that
have kept women from realizing their full potential for too long. Following two successful 2017 conferences that addressed Bible-based
gender equality and the well-received book, Gender Roles, which was just
released in a Spanish edition, Dollar has announced plans to continue
championing the topic in 2018 with another conference and book. Let Them Have Dominion, the follow-up to Gender Roles, will be
released during the 2018 Radical Revolution Women’s Conference, which
will take place March 15th – 17th, at the World Dome in College Park,
GA. Women from around the world are expected to attend the three-day
event, which will also feature Christians for Biblical Equality
International (CBE) president, Dr. Mimi Haddad, well-known author and
speaker, Lisa Bevere, and businesswoman, author, and media personality,
Sarah Jakes Roberts. The featured musical guests will be Tasha Cobbs and
Micah Stampley. Since attending a CBE event in South Africa several years ago, Dollar
has focused much of her ministry on “restoring the God-ordained balance
and equality in our Christian families, churches, and communities”
where woman share leadership roles equally with men.
In one section of Gender Roles, the Dollars write jointly about how
their understanding of the Bible’s teachings has changed their marriage
from one in which it was solely the man’s responsibility to lead and
guide the household to a mutual partnership where “we exchange our
weaknesses for each other’s strengths.” “The message has not only resonated with women,” says Christopher
Spence, executive director of Taffi Dollar Entities, “We’ve also heard
from men all over the world who have said it was liberating for them to
realize they do not have to take on all of the responsibilities
associated with leadership by themselves.” While Gender Roles focuses mainly on equality between the genders,
Dollar’s next book and the 2018 Radical Revolution Conference will look
more broadly at the issue of equality, including issues of race and
ethnicity. Though Dollar’s message was being developed before the recent abuse
scandals and race-related flash points gained the world’s attention, it
is now “very timely,” Spence remarked. “We believe it’s important to
provide a light in the darkness, and share how biblical equality says
that we are all equal before God. The fact that we are of different
races, ethnicities, and genders should have no bearing on the respect
that we are all afforded as children of God.” For more information contact: Ty Mays @ (770) 256-8710tmays@inchristcommunications.com

The Arizona Rattlers travel to face the Cedar Rapids River Kings on June 1, 2019
River Kings Return Home Against Arizona
With
playoffs out of the question for Cedar Rapids, the rest of this season
is about tightening up loose bolts for next. One of those loose bolts is
at the quarterback position, but Cedar Rapids might have found their
guy.
Dalton Oliver, third quarterback to get behind
center for Cedar Rapids, got his time to shine against Quad City after
Ben Wilkerson’s departure from the game (3-5; 25 yards). His performance
was noticed, as he completed around 50% of his passes (11-21) for 118
yards, three touchdowns, and a lonely interception. His progression in
these next few games will be very good for Dalton to get important
reps.
With a new quarterback throwing to them, the
receivers seemed to be consistent in recent games. Drake White reeled in
five balls for 51 yards, and a single touchdown. Marquel Wade caught
four for 51 yards, and a touchdown, while Jordan Smith also caught four
for 41 yards and two scores. The receiving core seemed to warm up well
to the new guy.
On the ground, Wilkerson was the top
guy. He ran the ball nine times for 23 yards, but he was unable to find
the end zone. Nate Chavious, who has shown he can be an offensive
weapon, rushed the ball a meager three rushes for negative four yards.
However, he was able to make up for his lackluster performance on the
ground by returning three kickoffs for 106 yards returning and a
touchdown. The River Kings will need to find their running game if they
plan on having offensive success, especially with a newer quarterback.
Defensively,
the River Kings find themselves rarely stopping teams from scoring.
Against the Quad Cities, the River Kings only stopped the Steamwheelers
from scoring on two drives. Out of eleven drives, six of them resulted
in a touchdown for touchdowns and two of them resulted in field goals.
If the River Kings want to win anymore games, they’re going to need to
find a way to keep the enemy out of the end zone.
On
the opposing side in this Week 15 matchup, the River Kings will be
facing the undefeated Arizona Rattlers. While, on paper, this game does
not mean much to either team, wouldn’t it be great story if these River
Kings broke up an eleven game win streak?
At
quarterback, Arizona uses Drew Powell for their quarterbacking needs. He
had a near perfect game throwing for around 85% (13-15) which resulted
in 180 yards, five touchdowns, and a goose egg in the interceptions
column.
While Arizona has a lot of offensive weapons,
Powell found himself throwing mainly to two guys Jarrod Harrington (7
receptions, 114 yards, 3 touchdowns) and Quincy Walden (4 receptions, 56
yards, 2 touchdowns). If Cedar Rapids wants to find success against
this white-hot team, they will need to make sure this duo does not rise
above.
As far as rushing went for Arizona, Powell added
onto his five passing touchdowns with a pair of rushing touchdowns. He
ran the ball eight times for 83 yards. Along with Powell, Jabre Lolley
rushed seven times for 39 yards and a single touchdown. Although this
team had its success rushing the ball, if the River Kings can put a stop
to its air attack, they might be able to come out of this game
victorious.

Raleigh Police Department released body cam and dash cam video from an
officer-involved shooting that happened May 19. Michael Anthony
Hendricks Jr. was shot by Officer C.T. Melochick at Quail Ridge
Apartments off Falls of Neuse Road. First responders arrived at the
apartment complex around 9:30 a.m. after receiving calls about a man
having medical problems. Firefighters who arrived first found Hendricks
in his apartment floor near a cardboard box. They said he told them he
would attack if they did not back away. The firefighters backed away and
radioed police to get there as fast as possible. According to the
Raleigh Police Department's 5-day report, Hendricks' roommate told
firefighters that Hendricks kept a gun inside the cardboard box, at
which point, Hendricks started rummaging through the box. A 911 caller
reported that Hendricks had a knife and was having a war flashback.

RPD said it has not uncovered any military records for Hendricks.
According to investigators, shortly after Melochick arrived and began
talking to Hendricks' roommate in the parking lot, Hendricks came around
the side of the building. Hendricks had a gun in his hand--a gun which
was later determined to be a BB gun. Witnesses said Hendricks raised the
gun and pointed it at Melochick. The officer retreated to behind his
patrol car for cover. After commanding Hendricks to drop the weapon,
Melochick fired one shot, hitting Hendricks in the abdomen. Melochick is
on leave as the case is investigated. North Carolina State Bureau of
Investigation is conducting an investigation and will present its
findings to Wake County District Attorney Lorrin Freeman.
“My son, hear the instruction
of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: For they shall be
an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck”
(Proverbs 1:8, 9).

designed to alienate them from their parents. Children who obey the Word
of God receive protection from these attacks, and bless the entire
family.

There is a principle in God’s Word that says, “Give, and it will be given to you” (Luke 6:38).
“Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap” (Galatians 6:7). When you
do something for someone else—take them to a doctor’s appointment, pick
them up when their car is broken down, call them, cheer them up, do
something that no one else can do for them—God’s going to do special
things for you.
When we go out and make someone else’s day, we’re saying, “God, thank
You for making my day” because when you make someone else’s day, God
will make your day. When God sees you blessing others, He blesses you,
and there are no blessings to compare with the blessings of Almighty
God.
So make someone’s day, knowing that God is going to make your day.

My brother-in-law Don is a huge football fan of the Texas
A&M Aggies. Last November he was watching their big game against
LSU. With 89 seconds of regulation, A&M needed a 78-yard drive to
tie the game, but their quarterback threw a game-ending interception.
The LSU players poured Gatorade on the coach and started celebrating.
Don was so upset that he not only turned the television off, but he
deleted the recording from his DVR. He didn't want that game in his
files.
Half an hour later a friend texted Don saying, "This game is
unbelievable." Don thought his friend had recorded it and hadn't seen
the end. Then he looked on Twitter and saw all these similar comments.
Come to find out, the referees reviewed the play of the interception and
saw that the quarterback's knee was down, which meant that play was
over. They gave the ball back to the Aggies, who went on to score and
tie the game. The game went to seven overtimes, and the Aggies won
74–72. It was the highest scoring game and one of the greatest games in
FBS history.
Sometimes in life we do as Don did and turn the game off too soon. We
think we'll never get well, never meet the right person, never
accomplish a dream. We tried, but it didn't work out. It feels as though
the opposition has won and is celebrating. They've already poured
Gatorade on the coach. But it's not over till God says it's over. Go
back and look again. You're story doesn't end in defeat but in victory.
Along the way there may be some setbacks, times when it looks
impossible, but God has ways you never thought of.
Over two thousand years ago, Satan and all the forces of darkness
thought they had finally defeated Jesus on the cross. They poured the
Gatorade and started their victory party. What they didn't realize was
Jesus had prophesied not only His death but His resurrection: "Destroy
this temple, and in three days I will raise it up" (John 2:19). While
the enemy celebrated, Jesus rose up, took away the keys of death and
hell, and said, "I am He that lives. I was dead but I am alive
forevermore."
Whatever you face, God has the final word. Go back to those places
where you quit believing and stir up your faith. Who told you it was
over? That wasn't the final word. You're about to see God show out.
There's a sudden change coming. Sudden healing, sudden opportunities,
sudden promotion, sudden breakthroughs. What you thought was permanent
is about to change in your favor. You're going to rise higher,
accomplish dreams, and reach the fullness of your destiny.
“For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise” (Hebrews 10:36).
Patience is not simply
“putting up with” something; it is remaining constantly, consistently
the same in all situations. Patience is faith that is consistently
applied over a period of time.
The more we
