A Winning Combination
Adapted from the resource Hearing from God Each Morning - by Joyce Meyer
https://joycemeyer.org/dailydevo
One of my favorite ways to hear from God is through conventional wisdom and common sense. Wisdom discerns truth in a situation, while common sense provides good judgment regarding what to do with the truth. I consider wisdom supernatural because it isn’t taught by men; it is a gift from God.
Many sophisticated, intelligent people lack wisdom and common sense. God’s Word says, If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him (James 1:5 AMPC).
I am amazed how many people think they must stop using common sense in order to be “spiritual.” Spiritual people don’t float around all day on clouds of glory; they live in the real world and deal with real issues in real ways. They need real answers, just like everyone else—and those answers are found in God’s Word and revealed to us by His Spirit.
We do the seeking, and God does the speaking, but He is the Spirit of Wisdom and will not tell us to do anything that is unwise. Many times we ask God to speak to us and lead us, but if He does not give us a specific word from Scripture or speak a word in our hearts, we still have to live our daily lives and make decisions.
God is not going to dictate every little choice we make, but He does give us wisdom and common sense—and those two make a winning combination.
Prayer Starter: Father, I ask for Your wisdom to live my life and make good decisions that I will be happy with in the future. Give me a heart to know and love Your Word so I can be even more sensitive to Your daily guidance. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Congratulations Heather!
This past March I found myself at 40 years old, weighing the most I’ve ever weighed in my life (174 pounds) and needing surgery on my neck to replace 2 bulged discs and needing C5 plated to C6 and C6 to C7. Turning 40 in October was hard enough, then needing surgery the following March was icing on the cake. Something needed to change. I was constantly depressed (even though I was taking anti-depressants), had no self esteem, no energy and no self worth. I had surgery on March 16, 2011. After surgery I was on a 5 pound weight restriction for 6 weeks and in a cervical collar 24/7. My weight restrictions were lifted to 5+ pounds every week thereafter provided my x rays were good. I decided that once my weight restrictions were lifted altogether that I was going to start eating right and working out. However, I was not going to set myself up for failure. I needed someone to answer to. So I started looking online for personal trainers. My husband has always been into keeping fit and working out, therefore, we have a ton of gym equipment in our basement (you’d think that would be incentive enough to be fit….nope. Couch potato was always more appealing.) So being as I had the equipment at home, I wanted to find someway that I could train at home. I came across HitchFit on Facebook, which led me to the HitchFit website. Hmmm…#1 Online Personal Training System. I started looking at the programs and all of the transformations that were posted, so I started looking into the background of Micah and Diana. Well, this was a no brainer. These were the people that I needed to contact............Read her full story with videos......

About Ty and Charlene Bollinger
---------------------------------------
Ty and Charlene Bollinger are devoted Christians, health freedom advocates, health researchers, documentary film producers, and best-selling authors.
After losing several family members to conventional cancer treatments, they set out to learn the truth about cancer and the cancer industry, working together tirelessly to help others to learn the truth that sets them free to live healthy, happy lives.
Ty and Charlene's heartbreak and grief coupled with their firm belief that chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery were NOT the most effective treatments available for cancer patients, led them on a path of discovery.
On their journey, they interviewed cutting-edge scientists, leading alternative doctors, and groundbreaking researchers to learn about hidden alternative cancer treatments. What they uncovered helped to create The Truth About Cancer and its three awe-inspiring docu-series: ”The Quest for The Cures”, “The Quest for the Cures Continues”, and “The Truth About Cancer: A Global Quest.”
Their message is clear: CANCER IS NOT A DEATH SENTENCE. THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE.
Physical assault on medics is a growing problem. Medic Nerd attended a self defense class by DT4EMS that teaches emergency responders how to escape violent encounters. [Video and more below]
The guys of DT4EMS, owner Kip Teitsort and instructor Matt Lopez, were kind enough to let our cameras roll during the class and then to talk to us on camera after the class. I highly recommend you check out their website: www.DT4EMS.com to learn more.
Also, a huge thanks to Gail Dunmyer of Capital Regional Medical Center for making all of this possible. Flight Nursing
By: Michael A. Morales
Critical Care Transport Nursing as a Career Flight nursing, or any kind of critical care transport nursing, is a job that requires extensive knowledge and experience. These nurses are responsible for assessing the condition and needs of critically ill or wounded patients, and providing competent care for these patients while they are being transferred from the scene of an accident to the hospital. In some instances, patients are transferred from hospital emergency rooms that are not equipped to deal with the patient’s level of trauma to a facility that can meet that patient’s needs. However, in either case, the transport nurse is responsible for gathering appropriate and accurate information that can passed onto the receiving care team, and it is to be expected that the patient arrives in better, or at least the same, condition than when first picked up. Due to the variety of skills needed when dealing with those who are critically ill or wounded, most critical care transport teams consist of pilots/drivers, paramedics, and nurses. Thus, paramedic training is not necessary for nurses who choose a career in transport or flight nursing. Critical care transport nurses are expected to bring extensive critical care nursing experience to the table, therefore, any nurse considering this career path should first pursue ICU training, certification, and experience. Most critical care transport companies, especially flight transport companies, will not even consider hiring a nurse with less than 3 years of intensive care/critical care experience. Many of the more reputable companies, particularly those that can offer better pay and benefits, will require 5 years of experience. The national average salary for flight nurses is $62,000 per year. Obviously, this is not an entry-level job, or one that is suited to new graduates. The variety of situations a transport nurse encounters, and the critical nature of the patients’ conditions, does not allow room for error. Thus, learning on-the-job is not an option. The only training that critical care transport companies expect a nurse to need is specific flight nursing or transport nursing protocol and safety policy training. Usually, companies prefer to offer this training themselves (and usually during a paid probationary period), so they can ensure the nurse is following the company's established policies and procedures, but previous flight or transport training or experience is always a plus. However, there are some nursing schools that offer complete flight nursing or transport nursing training programs, although acceptance to these programs usually require 2 years of intensive/critical care experience. Even if you do not choose to complete a specific transport nursing training program, there are several regular nursing school courses you can take to increase your chances of success, and of gaining employment in this highly competitive career. Recommended courses include Basic Trauma Life Support, a Trauma Nurse core course, Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, and an Intensive/Critical Care core course. In addition, consider taking the Air-Medical Crew National Standard Curriculum. In conclusion, a career in critical care transport or flight nursing is not something to be engaged in lightly, as the necessary education and experience takes years to complete. However, many transport nurses will tell you that, although it is one of the most difficult and intense nursing jobs out there, it is also one of the most extremely rewarding experiences they could ever have.
