The Complete Guide to Becoming a Karate Instructor
By: Tl Kleban

There are a number of reasons why someone would want to become a karate instructor. They are the kind of people who simply enjoying teaching a skill they are knowledgeable of. The most demanding part of teaching martial arts, is the fact you need to be present for all classes. Your constant and regular presence is what drives your students towards success.

You need to realize that it takes a sharp mind to come up with an answer to every question about the martial arts. It takes knowledge and technical ability to acquire and hold the respect needed to be a great leader and instructor. In other words, to teach what you know, you must know what you know. Your philosophies must be morally correct since you are responsible for the usage of your teachings. Here are a few ways you can become a karate instructor:
  • To properly teach karate you better know it too and that takes years or learning and training. I'm talking about being skilling in the upper levels of it such as a black belt. The idea is to develop your skills, coordination and confidence enough so you can teach these same concepts to your students.

  • Visit other established karate schools and speak to their karate instructors. Try and get a good feel for what they do or if you can do it? It is a good time to decide if you really want to become an instructor. If you can, watch how they teach their students for any pointers.

  • In order to teach properly, you will need strong communication skills so try to develop those along with some leadership skills. Just knowing karate doesn't mean you can automatically teach it. It also takes understanding people and the ability to talk to people. It requires you correctly Express yourself in an open, intelligent manner. These are all important skills needed to be a qualified teacher.

  • CPR certification is a good idea. Actually there are a number of karate schools which require it in order to teach for them. True it isn't required, but it's a good thing to know in general since you will around physical activities. Though not required, obtaining an EMT card and getting supplemental training by becoming a certified physical education teacher can be helpful.

  • A good place to start in the area of karate teaching is as an instructor trainee. Here you get to work and learn under the supervision of a certified head instructor. Most schools will not allow you teach any classes until you've been a trainee for up to three years or logged a certain number of hours. A great way to get experience is to teach anybody that wants to learn. This means to instruct both children and adults. Another plus is that being an instructor of both groups increases your marketability.

  • Don't expect to get into this field and be an overnight success or for this to be your only source of income. Depending on the size of the school, karate instructors usually only work on a part time basis. Expect to work for more than one school to support yourself or don't give up your full-time job quite yet.

We hear a lot of excuses as to why people live unhealthy lifestyles. One of the excuses we hear most often is that eating healthy is just too expensive. In a way, it’s true. Healthy, natural foods like produce and lean meats are typically pricier than processed foods. But the price tag on healthy foods should not turn you away from a fit lifestyle! In fact, there are tons of foods in your grocery store that are healthy, delicious and cheap!!! We’re here to help you find the 8 cheapest health foods in your grocery store: ( There are many more inexpensive healthy foods, these are just 8 of them..enjoy)

On top of being low in calories and packed with protein, the egg is also extremely cheap. In fact, you can get a dozen Grade A eggs in your local grocery store for less than $2.00!! Talk about bang for your buck.

Frozen vegetables are often less expensive to their cousins, the fresh vegetables in the produce section. Although frozen vegetables do not have the exact same nutritional value as fresh veggies, they are still great for the body. With plenty of fiber, protein, vitamin A, vitamin C and potassium, frozen vegetables may become your new best friend (believe it or not!).
But how economical are frozen vegetables? You can get a cup of frozen veggies for about $0.25! Most bags of veggies cost between $1.75 and $2.25. Not bad for a side dish.

Beans, beans the magical fruit, the more you eat the more you…save!!! Dried beans are a powerhouse food. They are chock full of fiber and protein and provide us with healthy dietary fat. And because they can be purchased in bulk, dried beans are very economical. Choose pinto beans, black beans, garbanzo beans—any bean!—and your wallet (and body) will thank you!

Let God Do It His Way

2 Kings 5:10-11, The Amplified Bible

So often we miss out on what God wants to do for us because He doesn't do it the way we think He should. We work up an idea in our minds about how He's going to heal us, for instance. We think He's going to send some famous preacher to lay hands on us or that He's going to knock us off our feet with a blast of His power. When He doesn't, we let our faith drop and foul up what He had actually planned to do.
That's what Naaman did. He went to Elisha expecting to be healed in a particular way. When it didn't happen that way, the Bible says, he went away in a rage.
What Elisha told him to do was simple. Dip seven times in the Jordan. Naaman could do that. But it didn't fit his idea of how his healing should take place. He thought Elisha would heal him by waving his hands around and calling on the Name of the Lord.
Naaman stormed away and he would have missed out on his healing if one of his servants hadn't talked him into giving Elisha's instructions a try.
I used to be like that. I wanted spectacular experiences from God so badly I was missing out on the experiences God had planned for me. Once I realized that, I quit looking for feelings and spectacular manifestations and just started expecting God to keep His Word.
I remember I went to a meeting one night with my ankle messed up terribly. The pain was so severe it went from my foot all the way up to my shoulder blades. But I went into that meeting expecting God to heal me.
During the praise service, I ignored the pain in my foot and just sang and worshiped with everyone else. When the preaching started, I got my Bible and got involved in the Word. Sure enough, sometime during that service I was healed. I don't know when it was. I didn't feel anything. I didn't see any sparklers go off. I didn't even realize I'd been healed until after the service. I got about halfway to the door and thought, Glory to God, my foot's well!
Don't let your own ideas of how God's going to work rob you of your healing or your deliverance or your prosperity. Just trust Him and let Him do things His way. He will work mightily in you.

CoachLee

This book will go deep inside of the defensive back position, through Coach Lee's unique teaching style which has earned him a reputation as a: “Defensive Back’s Best Friend.” This is your chance to learn how to play and teach the unique defensive back technique training system that has been suppressed and hidden away from the mainstream since the early 1970's. Why? Because the system enhances defensive back technique play 100% across the board (for all ages) within the first 24 hours of JUST hearing the system.
Coach Lee has taught his unique techniques to many top defensive backs in the NFL today, along with the College, CFL, Arena (Arena 1, IFL, SIFL, etc.), and High school levels. Here are just a few of the topics that will be covered:
✔ Dispelling play action
✔ Teaching young defensive backs how to receive a true run/pass key at the same time 100% across the board on every single down
✔ Heavy Technique and how to break down WR's in coverage
✔ The Chameleon Effect: teach your players how to assume and play every position on the defensive side of the ball
✔ Teaching the defensive back how to slow time down time on the football field
✔ Also contains chapters on defensive back techniques for Canadian Football (CFL, Canadian colleges and high schools) and indoor game (Arena Football League, EFL, etc.)
Learn the same techniques that Coach Lee taught to the San Diego Shockwave in 2007 who proceeded to allow less than 20 points per game, a feat unheard of in the indoor game!
Remember that Coach Lee’s unique techniques do not change what your Coaches call in their defensive playbook. Coach Lee‘s key system is designed and invented to flow evenly right into your defensive playbook assignments and responsibilities with technique and keys. It is: “The Ultimate Cheat Code for Defensive Backs.” Click here to learn more and book this course.....

Sprinting as a Vaccine for Hamstring Injury?
Great article from JB Morin et. al. that further reinforces our Timed 10's and Flying 10's idea. ( notice I'm now saying "our". The statute of limitations on Tony Holler getting credit is past, next pronoun will probably be my)

RE: Sprinting as a Vaccine for Hamstring Injury?
interesting and connects the dots to make sense. Stating You get enough high quality sprint work in I see how it can serve as a prevention to HMI.. I am curious what they do once an athlete does get injured after already being in their program.. What are their initial steps and how do they vary from the norm??
