Navy Seal Plummets Into Hell

By: Will Hart
Imagine this: you are riding in a helicopter 400’ above the surface of the ocean off the coast of CA. There’s that familiar knot in your stomach tightening up. You’re about to jump out. It's a practice run, all part of prepping for another tour for the real thing in Afghanistan, it is 1987.

That was Don ’s reality …3, 2, 1…jump. Instead of free-falling for a few moments, he was startled when he heard the chopper blade cut through his parachute. It was nightmarish. He plummeted through the air like a rock. The rugged Seal, a veteran of two tours in Afghanistan, stoically braced for impact. Wham!

He slammed into the water feet first. The impact compressed his spine crushing two disks and it also knocked him unconscious. Severely injured, he sank nearly 100 ‘ to the bottom.

Brother Seals jumped seconds after him. They were in the water, racing to the bottom to try to rescue their comrade in a heartbeat. They dragged him to the surface and got him to the shoreline. He was brain-dead for about a minute. Broken, badly injured he came to and was rushed to the hospital.

In my opinion, the Navy should have given him a medical discharge. Not just because of the severe back injury and trauma he suffered in the horrific accident. He’d already served two tours of duty and seen heavy action in Afghanistan. In addition, he had PTSD and on top of that brain damage from the accident.

But the Navy invests heavily in their elite corps. If he didn’t push for it and could function they were not about to give him a medical discharge.

Anyway, his commander waited the six months, for him to heal from two surgeries until he was released from the hospital. Then he was deployed with his unit back to serve his 3rd tour in Afghanistan. He remained in the Navy for 20 years and was given an honourable discharge.

Today, at 61 he is a big bear of a man who has a ready smile. The neighbourhood he lives, south of the border where it is cheap,, is the worst in a city notorious for its high level of homicides. He doesn’t complain about any of it and he seldom mentions his back pains, When he does I figure that they must be severe.

Some people say that he’s slow in the head, they have no idea of his past. Brain injuries and PTSD have heavy impacts on mental functioning. But Don is not at all stupid as some folks mistakenly judge him to be, by a few small behaviours.

This article was my idea, not his. He is not the kind of guy to cry on anyone’s shoulder or ask for help. So I am doing it for him, he deserves it and I am a writer. Oh, I failed to mention that his father served under Patton in WWII; in addition, all of his 5 brothers served in one elite corps or another as well.

True patriotism and selfless service to America are Goshke family traditions. This crowdfunding campaign is to help Don get through this next 12 months until his social security kicks in. It is the least I can do

Oh, one last thing. They did not have him do any more copter jumps after the accident. However, they did have him repel thousands of feet down a mountainside overseas

DECEMBER 18 from cdm

“And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching” (Mark 6:5, 6).
Despite God’s mighty power, our unbelief hampers Him from working miracles in our lives. The Holy Spirit was sent to convince us that unbelief is a sin, and that having faith in Jesus opens the door to supernatural manifestations.

Dare to Take Your Place

Titus 3:4,6-7

A covenant of grace. That's what you and I have with Almighty God. If you could truly grasp the significance of that, you'd never be the same again.
What exactly is a covenant of grace? It's a relationship of favor that gives you access to someone else's power.
An illustration of a covenant of grace is the covenant the old Sicilian "family" members have with the "godfather" of the "family."
In that group, a weak person might come in and ask the Don for a favor. The Don would say, "I will grant this favor and I will ask a favor of you, and when that time comes, I will collect it."
Once that was said, the weak person would become excited. Suddenly he knew he would no longer have this problem because anyone who tried to rough him up would now have to face the godfather, the one with all the power. Suddenly, that little guy's attitude would change. He would leave the presence of the head of the family in the full assurance that he didn't have a thing to worry about. He was no longer small and powerless in his own mind. He had gained favor (grace) with the powerful.
He'd walk out thinking, Everything is handled. All I have to do now is whatever the Don asks me to do—and the Don knows I don't have anything, so whatever he asks me to do, he'll provide the wherewithal to do it.
That's grace. God's willingness to enter in to blood covenant with you and give you everything He has in exchange for everything you have.
He took your sin to give you His righteousness. He took your sickness to give you His health. He took your poverty in order to meet all your needs according to His riches in glory. Whenever He asks you to do something, He provides everything you need to carry it out.
The great Jehovah, God of heaven and earth, is your Father God. Can you understand that? If you're under the blood of Jesus, you've been made a covenant child of the most powerful being in the universe.
Dare to take your place in the family!

Strength Coach- The State of Dogma v. Maximum Velocity

Rob Assise - StrengthCoach.com
Scene:  A courtroom near you.  Dogma is on the stand with Maximum Velocity questioning.
Maximum Velocity: Is it true that on October 29, 2018, you stated, “Maximum velocity is a parameter that rarely needs to be addressed” in regards to training basketball players?
Dogma: Yes.
Maximum Velocity: Is the reason for this because athletes do not reach maximum velocity while playing basketball?
Dogma: That is correct.
Maximum Velocity: So if an action is not performed during gameplay, it doesn't make sense to address it in training?
Dogma: Yes.
Maximum Velocity: Do your athletes perform barbell squats in training?
Dogma: Of course!  Ass to grass baby!
Maximum Velocity: Have you ever seen a barbell squat take place in a game of basketball?
Dogma: Well, uh, no...but…
Maximum Velocity: So you are fine with addressing a barbell squat in training when it does not occur in competition, but you do not extend the same courtesy to sprinting until maximum velocity is attained?
Dogma: Well, players squat during competition.  Bilateral jumps occur all the time, and squatting is a precursor to that.
Maximum Velocity: Are you saying that basketball players don't sprint in competition?
Dogma: Well, uh, no….They sprint, but they don't attain maximum velocity.
Maximum Velocity: When you train athletes in the squat, do you try to maximize the load they can move?
Dogma: Absolutely!  The more they move, with quality technique of course, the greater the training effect!

Police Chase, Hit and Run, and Personal Injury Lawsuits

By: Joseph Mcclelland
Ever heard of a hit and run collision? As a personal injury attorney, I have seen many. Ever heard of a hit and run collision that resulted in a car chase with the police? Ever heard of one where the driver of the car was intentionally hitting cars as he sped down the interstate? Not so sure are you? I really can't remember a scene where the get away car was causing intentional damage to the cars as they raced down the interstate. Well, it happened in Georgia recently. A Dacula, Georgia guy did just that. Lawyers know this is a great case to get.

He was in an accident, and took off turning a wreck into a hit and run accident on a major highway. If you didn't think it could get any stranger, he sped away which started a police chase down the interstate. But, as stated above he did it with some flair. The guy was just intentionally hitting cars as he sped down the interstate. The local guy was charged with seven counts of aggravated assault, six counts of hit and run, seven counts of following to closely, four counts of aggressive driving, three counts of failure to maintain a lane and one count each of speeding and fleeing.

What if this happened to your family or a member of your family was in one of those cars? What if they were the bread earner of the family? How will you pay the mortgage or keep food on the table? What if the person who is at fault is poor and doesn't own anything? What are you to do? These are big questions that all require a full analysis of a multitude of variables. The primary type of problem is did the death occur on the street, on your property, their property, on the property of another? For example, if the fatal collision was in a motor vehicle, then the initial place to turn is the automobile car insurance coverage policy of the other driver. The next place to turn would be to identify if that driver is covered under a different person's policy. This is hugely important. For example, if the guy or girl who hit your vehicle lives with their parents or spouse, then you have another place to look.

Now, the insurance company will try to claim that the kid that collides with you is not on the policy of the parents. That is a true statement, no doubt. But, that is only half of the truth and not the part that benefits you. Under Georgia law by operation of public policy, a family member that lives in the home is technically considered an insured party. So, if some kid hits you, then you will be able to turn to additional car insurance coverage from their parents if the kid still lives with parents. After you have reviewed all of that, you will want to look to your own uninsured motorist coverage which is also called uninsured motorist coverage in the industry for short. If you have uninsured motorist coverage, then you have an initial consideration to begin with. That consideration is whether the policy gives a reduction or adds on to the other insurance policy amount. So, if the primary driver has more insurance than your UM coverage and your coverage gives a reduction, then you will have no recovery. If your uninsured motorist policy gives you the additional funds (considering the case has that value), then you will get to add your policy limits in addition to the at-fault policy limits.

Ten Ways To Give That Please God
By: Rod Rogers

Pastor, boldly teach the following principles to your people and watch God transform their lives, their giving, and your offerings!

The churches in Macedonia, the northern province of Greece, had given to a collection for poor saints in Jerusalem. In 1 Corinthians 16, and in 2 Corinthians 8 and 9, the apostle Paul used their example to inspire the believers at Corinth to give. These three texts provide some of the richest teaching on giving in the New Testament.

Ten Ways To Give That Please God:

1. God Is Pleased When You Give Even Though You Are Overwhelmed With Problems.

"Now, brethren, we wish to make known to you the grace of God which has been given in the churches of Macedonia, that in a great ordeal of affliction their abundance of joy and their deep poverty overflowed in the wealth of their liberality" (2 Cor. 8:1-2)1.

The Macedonians gave even though they were being ridiculed, robbed, beaten, and imprisoned for their faith. Application: We should give to God even when we are overwhelmed with problems.

2. God Is Pleased When You Give Even Though You Are In Abject Poverty.

"In a great ordeal of affliction their abundance of joy and their deep poverty overflowed in the wealth of their liberality" (2 Cor. 8:2).

Even though the Macedonian Christians were in deep poverty, they gave to God's work. Application: No matter how bad our financial condition, we can still give something to God. And He expects us to.

3. God Is Pleased When You Give Beyond Your Ability.

"For I testify that according to their ability and beyond their ability they gave of their own accord" (2 Cor. 8:3).

The Macedonians gave what they could afford to give and what they could not afford to give! They gave more than seemed humanly reasonable. Application: God is pleased when we give sacrificially.

When I was pastoring I responded to people who told me they were not able to give by saying, "Great! Then you can give. If you’re not able to give, then you can give! You can give even if you can’t give—beyond your ability!"

4. God Is Pleased When You Give Generously.

"In a great ordeal of affliction their abundance of joy and their deep poverty overflowed in the wealth of their liberality" (2 Cor. 8:2)

The Macedonians gave generously, even though they were in abject poverty. Application: God wants us to give liberal amounts with generous hearts to His work.

5. God Is Pleased When You Give Eagerly.

"Begging us with much entreaty for the favor of participation in the support of the saints" (2 Cor. 8:4).

These harassed, poor, believers actually begged and pleaded with Paul to let them have the privilege of sharing in the financial ministry to the Jerusalem Christians. Application: God wants us to be eager to give. The offering should be the highlight of our worship each week.

6. God Is Pleased When You Give Cheerfully.

Did you know that young players usually sharpen their most essential soccer skills between the ages of 6 and 14? Skill building at this age is essential for success and enjoyment of the game. But skills are built through repetition, which can bore or discourage young players.

To counter this, Coach Charlie Inverso offers a comprehensive training plan that mixes soccer fun and fundamentals in both individual and team practice routines. Combine this plan with coach and parent encouragement and supervision, especially at its beginning, and you’re on your way to helping players love the game by playing it better. The plan comes complete with downloadable training notes and coaching tips for each drill.
